by Mr. Lermentov’s killer.

match the prints on that marble thing

that was used to kill Lermentov.

I didn’t know all that much about the list

except for the big money involved.

But then at the trade reception,

I happened to pick up on the looks

between Mr. Kesmek and Mr. Lermentov

and when Lermentov slipped something into the book...

Well, anyway, after the reception,

I saw the head waiter give the book to Mr. Prouty

and when he got on the elevator...

you knew it would be in my room

and you were already there

when Mr. Lermentov let himself in.

I just found what I thought was the right book.

I bumped into something and he saw me.

I had no choice.

Miss Bonnie Hartman must have been another one

that saw Lermentov get rid of the list.

in that room who didn’t see it.

We haven’t picked her up yet.
