Meanwhile, a police spokesperson has confirmed that the case is closed,

that the mugger, who has been identified as drifter Manny Farkus, was shot and killed.

I don't know, Aunt Jess. It seems to be getting worse all the time.

You know, that does not make sense. Nothing much does in this town.

No, I mean, there doesn't seem to be any logic to it.

I mean, why would a man suddenly shoot Patti down like that?

I don't know. Maybe he was nervous.

Maybe the gun had a hair trigger, and it went off by accident.

And that would have been reported.

If what that man says is true,

neither Patti or her brother had a chance to move before he shot her.

I mean, that really doesn't make any sense.

After our visit to the hospital, I have got another stop to make.
