the state police checked the highways with a helicopter.

All right. They spotted a large moving van...

heading north on Highway 27, toward Augusta...

is convinced that the car was hidden in that van.

That doesn't make any sense because the next day that very same car ran down Mr. Merrill.

there were no witnesses except the Tatum kids, and they could've made a mistake.
