But, what happened at the funeral?

I saw you there.

When Chairman Kang Tae Ho died in Hawaii...

Shut your mouth,

and leave it to me.

Episode 3

Who are you looking for?

- That fellow? - Excuse me?

Ah, um...

Excuse me for a moment. I think the ambassador is leaving.

Sorry.

Ah, of course, you should go.

I'm sorry. I'd like to rest.

Jin Bo Bae.

- Sunbae. - You dance pretty well.

Ehh!

What do you think of that guy?

It seemed like you were pretty interested in him too.

Me?

The reason I came here today... was because of that woman.

Vivian?

I don't know what it is, but something smells fishy.

I'm certain that woman is connected to Chairman Kang Tae Ho's case.

Thank you so much for coming. You brightened up the whole event.

I'll see you again soon, I hope.

Sunbae,

- Mmm. - Just a second, okay?

Mmm, I'll see you later.

Could I please have a few minutes of your time, Miss Vivian?

As you can see, I'm a little busy right now.

I just have a couple of questions.

What were you meeting Chairman Kang Tae Ho about in Hawaii?

- Who in the world invited you here? - Just one thing, please.

In Hawaii, did you meet Prince Al Jabal?

Didn't I tell you? That we had to take care of that woman?

Michael,

didn't you say earlier that you would give me a ride home?

I'd appreciate it.

Dressed in blue. You saw, right? Send some guys with good skills.

Come inside, Michael. I have someone I want to introduce to you.

Bo Bae.

Are you going somewhere?

Uh...

Let's go. I'll give you a ride home.

Sunbae,

this gentleman has offered to take me home.

I guess I continue to be one step behind today.

Then, shall we go, Miss?

Dad, what do you think of Michael King?

I don't know. I've only met him once.

Chairman, I think I'll be going now.

Oh! Right. You must be busy, making appearances for your father and all.

Give him my regards.

Yes.

Oppa.

That woman earlier, that reporter.

What's your relationship with her?

She was my junior in school.

What's your relationship with Michael King?

Ahh.

That man's fine, isn't he?

He'll be my man soon.

So, what I'm saying is this,

what business was Castle Investments doing with Chairman Kang Tae Ho in Hawaii?

Is Castle involved in the petroleum business or in arms dealing?

Castle President Vivian won't even meet with me.

It seems like she's avoiding me because she has something to hide.

So, you're trying to dig something out of me.

Oh, that's not so.

But, what exactly is your position at Castle?

Are you higher up than Vivian?

That reporter nature, I guess you can't help it.

Ah, this is a secret, so you can't tell anyone.

Chairman Kang Tae Ho wasn't dealing in petroleum, but making secret arms deals.

I uncovered some solid evidence, and that's why I followed him to Hawaii.

You're surprised, aren't you?

What the hell are you doing? Ow, that hurt.

Why are you doing this?

- Hi! - What are you?

You know something?

You really drive like crap.

Crap?

Right, I know it's a nice car, and I see it handles great.

I can understand you want to show off your car,

but you almost made me throw up.

- Is your house nearby? - My house?

It's still a long way up from here.

That's that, but I have a favor to ask you.

Can you be a bridge between me and Vivian Castle so I can get an interview?

- You want me to be a bridge? - Shall I go there tomorrow?

Please. Please connect us. Yes?

Well, then...

Reporter Jin Bo Bae.

- Who are you? - I think you'll have to come with us.

Mommy! Someone help me!

Michael! What are you doing?

Call the police, quickly.

Police?

Shouldn't you take her with her shoes on?

Thank you.

But, how did you know to come after me?

This kind of thing has happened so many times to me, it doesn't even surprise me anymore.

When I was reporting on school violence, I got beat up by high school thugs.

When I was reporting on organized crime, I was almost stabbed.

When I was reporting on illegal abortions, I almost ended up on the operation table.

And when I was reporting on organ trafficking and I almost got my heart cut out.

Ah, there are so many men after me.

Sounds like you need bodyguards.

Look here.

If I had the money for bodyguards, I wouldn't be doing this.

Than, it's for the money, that you do this sort of work?

Eh, like I could earn much money being an investigative reporter.

I do it because I like the work.

In this world, there are a lot of people who needs someone's help.

There it is. We've arrived.

It's my mom's shop.

Thank you for today.

Be careful going back.

Oh that's right. I need to return these clothes and jewels.

You don't have to return them.

I'll return them tomorrow.

I'll bring them when I come out to your offices.

Don't forget you're going to hook me up with Vivian Castle.

Then, bye.

And who is this?

Did an angel drop out of the heavens?

Mom, I'm tired.

That dress and... Are these diamonds?

Bo Bae, tell me. I'm dying of curiosity.

You couldn't have come home on the bus dressed like that.

The man who brought you home... is he outside?

He left.

Without even saying hello to your mother?

We don't have any kind of relationship where he needs to meet my mother.

Then?

I'll tell you later.

I saw him too.

He seems to have a nice frame anyway.

My radar's not just any radar.

At the very least, I can detect everything happening nearby.

It's dark, so I couldn't see his face,

but his build was killer.

A man needs a good build for starters, don't you think?

That tomboy only ever concerned herself with work,

but if things go well, we may just make a woman out of her after all.

Punks.

Punks, I'm feeding you for nothing.

Punks!

Hey punk... ahh!

Where do you think you're going, punk? Where?!

Which of you bastards is it?!

I... i... it's yours, President.

It's mine?

Ahh, Vivian.

Ah, ah, I was about to go to bed.

But, I wasn't sleepy so I was reading.

T... t... tomorrow?

Ahh, that sounds good.

Yes. I know the place.

Yes.

Then, I'll see you tomorrow.

Yes.

Ha!

You worthless little punks!

Not only did you not grab her, you got us exposed!

That stiff Michael probably didn't know who we were.

- Who are you calling a stiff? - Eh?

The people from Castle are our business partners.

Who said you could lay a hand on him?

Ah... yes.

But, Michael King is really that good of a fighter?

You're saying he beat the 3 of them? Huh?!

That man seems like a top notch pro.

He took care of them easily with one woman's shoe.

Imbecile. Doesn't even know when to feel humiliation?

Go bring me that woman reporter.

Ah. This time...

escort her courteously.

They were serving Kang Tae Ho in Hawaii,

but they are actually Chairman Jang Yong's men.

The men who tried to kidnap Jin Bo Bae today are also part of this group.

And, Chairman Jang Yong's men probably tried to kidnap Jin Bo Bae today

because she is the only witness in Kang Tae Ho's case.

That woman might know Michael's face.

There's nothing to worry about.

She's only looking for our connection with Kang Tae Ho.

Why are you just leaving such a danger to us alone?

Have you forgotten?

That we are not going to hurt the innocent?

Ah, Vivian, I'm sure the Boss has some thoughts of his own.

Boss, you can't forget that Vivian is a hot-blooded woman.

It's nice.

Yes, it's very nice!

It's a work of art, it is.

When I was in college in the US, I really enjoyed going to galleries.

Ah, it's nice, yes.

When I saw a nice work, I'd feel at peace like I had had a nice cup of tea.

But, you look a little bored.

Ah, no. No.

Pure and genuine people like you can't hide their feelings very well.

Is that so?

Castle invests a lot in the art business.

Galleries and works like these would be targets for our investment.

This is a gallery run by the company of the late Chairman Kang Tae Ho. Did you know that?

- Tae Hung Group? - Yes.

Actually, I'm now the largest stockholder of Tae Hung Group.

Ah, is that so?

There's no reason our Yong Bi group couldn't run a litlle gallery like this.

Yes.

I'm so grateful you've bought me this picture and all.

Let me take you somewhere grander.

Do you happen to like veal?

I'm sorry. I have an appointment this afternoon.

Ahh, that's too bad.

I told them to hold a good table.

Vivian, I know you're busy,

but do you think you could give me a whole day sometime?

How about tomorrow?

T... t... tomorrow?

Yes. Tomorrow, we don't have to go to some sleepy art museum, but somewhere you'd like.

Since you're a tough kind of guy, how about shooting or horseback riding?

Do you ride horses?!

Yes, I like to ride.

Ah, is that so? Then, then, promise me.

Your time all day tomorrow is mine, Jang Ho's.

As a sign of your promise.

Call me.

Tomorrow's schedule is okay. We're going to the riding grounds.

Wherever we go, that blockhead can attest to our alibi.

Nicely done, Vivian.

I don't even want to spend a minute with trash like him.

I want to finish this quickly and go back to the States, Michael.

We have an important meeting this afternoon. Hurry back, Vivian.

Michael...

Isn't that reporter Jin Bo Bae?

When Chairman Kang Tae Ho went to Hawaii, I hear he reserved the entire Castle Hotel.

Yes. It was a marketing move.

Please sit.

Hosting a party of the world's most prominent oil magnates at our hotel has significant PR value.

When did your business with the Chairman start?

I met him face to face for the first time in Hawaii.

I collected some surveillance tapes from your hotel. Were you aware of that?

I've ordered that everyone cooperate with Korean investigators.

You know Prince Al Jabal, don't you?

Yes.

He's a VIP at our hotel.

Did you ever see Chairman Kang Tae Ho meet Prince Al Jabal?

No.

Did you by any chance know that the 2 of them were going to meet alone on a yacht?

How would I know such a thing?

It would just be a moment.

Can you at least tell Vivian Castle, that reporter Jin Bo Bae is here to see her?

Her schedule is full today so I don't think it will be possible.

But really... and I have something to deliver to Director Michael King.

You can just leave this here and go.

- I'll deliver it. - No, really,

Director Michael King said the interview would be okay.

Really. Go ahead and confirm it.

You can't go in.

- Ah, it's just for a minute. - You can't. I'm sorry.

Just a minute, it would just be for a minute.

- C'mon, just for a minute. - I'm sorry.

Ahh, I swear.

Ahh geez.

I'm not leaving until I can meet her.

If you want to kick me out, you'll have to call the police.

Yes, Castle Investments.

Yes.

Tomorrow 2:00PM at the Speed Equestrian Club?

President Vivian Castle is aware.

Yes. She likes horseback riding, so I'm certain she'll be there.

Yes, I understand.

Thank you for making time for me.

- Don't mention it. - Now then...

Uh, Sunbae.

What are you doing here?

I wanted to meet with President Vivian...

Really, are you discriminating against me?

Sunbae!

How annoying, why won't she meet with me?

Oh, Sunbae, can't you ask her?

Oh, could I leave this with you?

Sunbae!

Sunbae, you went to see Vivian because you had the same thoughts as I did.

Shall I guess?

Just like you. Once you bite, you don't let go.

That's right.

So, don't tell me to quit...

instead, use me.

Use?

How?

I'm frustrated. Let's go horseback riding.

You were an equestrian medalist.

And you're a member of Speed Equestrian Club, right?

You said before that you'd teach me anytime I wanted.

I did.

So?

Sunbae,

then tomorrow, it's a date, at the Equestrian Club, okay?

Something seems suspicious.

Boss,

I want to demonstrate something we recently developed.

It just looks like a tube of ointment.

Can you place your knife up here please?

1... 2... 3.

There probably won't be a need,

but if you're ever incarcerated, you can cut through the metal bars with this.

Nice work.

You can loan it out as toothpaste to someone you can't stand.

And there's one more thing.

This is something very hot.

It is a CD bomb. It can easily send a car flying.

Hello, reporter Jin Bo Bae.

Uh... you're...

Manager of the Administrative Office at Yong Bi Group.

- Please get in. - Just a minute, please.

Weren't you an attendant of Chairman Kang Tae Ho?

Why would Yong Bi Groups employees accompany the Chairman of Tae HungGroup?

Is there some connection with Yong Bi Group and why Chairman Kang was in Hawaii?

Eh, our Chairman is interested in investing in Energy...

Ehhhhh... Energy my foot.

I didn't come for the purpose of your reporting, so just get in.

By chance,

did you send the guys that came by that night?

What the hell are you talking about?

We don't operate like that.

Like that?

Like what?

Looks like I was right.

You sent those thugs that night.

Today, I have an important appointment,

so I'll come find you myself another time.

Now, what the hell situation is this?

Hey, let's get out of here.

Manager of the Administrative Office at Yong Bi Group?

He saw me get on the boat with Chairman Kang Tae Ho.

He must have come for me because he was curious about something.

But,

I wonder why those people provided security for the Chairman of Tae Hung Group?

Is there some connection between the 2 companies?

Unicorn, say hello. She's a friend of mine.

Hi Unicorn.

I'm Bo Bae.

She'll like this.

I've heard a lot about you.

Woo Hyun Sunbae seems to love you a lot.

Meeting you in person, I can see why.

Actually,

I'm kind of jealous.

Unicorn probably feels the same way.

She's pretty possessive and doesn't like me bringing a woman here.

Unicorn,

still, it would be nice if you liked me.

I really want to become close with you.

I think we could be good friends.

Right?

She feels so nice.

Uh? Woo Hyun Oppa, you're here too?

Jang Mi, when did you come?

Just now.

Aigoo, what an honor to have such a busy man here at this hour.

We meet again, Agent Hwang Woo Hyun.

Yes, we do.

Michael, glad you came too.

I heard Oppa invited Vivian,

so we asked Michael to come along too.

I heard you were an Olympic Medalist.

I hope to learn something from you today.

Then, why don't you start by picking a horse.

Let's go. I'll loan you my horse.

Let's go, Vivian.

Vi-vivian...

Jin Bo Bae, you used me.

Yes. I knew Vivian was supposed to come here.

So I asked you to teach me to ride.

You'll learn to like it, riding.

Let's go.

Geez.

Michael! You can't ride that horse.

You really don't have a good eye for picking horses.

Samaritan is over 10 years old and on top of that, he's got a condition.

That horse's hip joints are weak.

Technically speaking, it's the pelvic roof. He can't race.

I'll loan you my horse.

No, I'm going to ride this horse.

Woo Hyun will see that and laugh.

As it is, it seemed like he was planning to take you down.

You can't, Michael.

If Woo Hyun tries to bet you, say you can't.

No one's competed with Woo Hyun Oppa and won.

That's why I want to give it a try.

Ohhhh, Michael, I like you!

That's right. If a man's not a man, he's a mouse, right?

What the hell, let's do it.

How about loser grants the winner a wish? Huh?

Oppa, that's the kind of bet you make with a woman, what the...

Interrupting your brother's conversation...

About that woman,

she doesn't seem like just a junior schoolmate of Woo Hyun Oppa's, does she?

I don't think Chairman Hwang would like that kind of woman very much, though.

Chairman Hwang?

Woo Hyun Oppa's father.

He's retired, but he's a 3-star general.

He's a very protective and strict man.

How's the saddle feel?

It's fine.

Hold the reigns a little closer.

- Like this? - Mmm.

I'll go myself.

- I'm going to try myself. - You have to be careful.

Mmm.

Don't go too fast.

Hey, Hwang Woo Hyun, you've got a challenger.

That Michael fellow wants to race you. What do you think?

Shall the 3 of us have a go?

Who picked that horse?

He picked it himself.

Jang Mi said she'd loan him her horse, but he stubbornly refused and insists on that horse.

Michael really said he wants to race me?

Yeah, seriously. He really doesn't get it.

President Vivian, please just a moment.

It seems like it's your first time on a horse,

and you plan to interview me here?

I just want to ask you a couple questions.

What in the world are you so curious about?

I'll ask you pointblank.

Chairman Kang Tae Ho was reportedly dealing in illegal arms trafficking.

And the people he was in contact with in Hawaii are also all involved in it.

And I don't think... that his reserving Castle Hotel was a coincidence.

So then you think that Castle too is involved in arms trafficking?

Because those in the arms business are very thorough,

I don't think that even a party venue is chosen without a reason.

Reporter Jin Bo Bae,

do you want to be charged with slander?

I'm warning you.

It would be a good idea not to linger around where I can see you.

She just won't get sucked in.

Mommy! Help!

Help me!

Bo Bae!

Are you okay?

Are you okay? Get down.

Are you okay?

You're not hurt?

Yeah, I'm okay.

Are you really okay?

Michael, how'd you do that?

You know how to jump mount too?

Are you okay? I'm sorry about that.

You punk! Someone almost got hurt!

No, it was my fault.

Anyhow, everyone's safe, so it's fine.

Woo Hyun Oppa, look at your face.

You're as white as a sheet.

Exuse me, Miss reporter.

Be thankful you didn't break your neck.

Thank you.

Don't worry about it.

Your skill looked rather extraordinary.

So how about it? Since we're warmed up,

shall we race a lap?

If you will teach me a thing or two.

Michael, you can't with that horse. He's a dog.

Ride mine.

No,

I like that horse.

Great! Then let me in on the action, huh?

No, I want it to be the 2 of us.

If you'd like.

Vivian, do you want to make a bet with me?

What kind of bet?

How about loser grants the winner a wish?

Don't do it. The horse that Woo Hyun is riding is an unbeatable race horse.

Hey, skill is more important than the horse.

Vivian, you don't have any confidence?

Fine, let's.

What about you? Who are you going to bet on?

I'm not interested in that sort of thing.

Samaritan is racing that well?

Impossible, impossible.

Wow, it's a miracle, a miracle.

Still, he can't beat Unicorn, huh?

Michael! Woo!

Run! Run!

- Who are you rooting for? - Excuse me?

Just rooting. For both.

Run!

Run! Run!

Look! Woo Hyun came in first, Woo Hyun came in first.

No, Michael won by a neck.

A tie. Today's race was a tie.

Quite impressive.

Beating Unicorn.

It was a fine race.

We've isolated the fire alarm system near the Chairman's office.

You are an incredible rider. I was stunned!

Was I the only one?

How could you?

What's going on?

She broke her leg.

Unicorn was in too much pain.

Everyone evacuate! This way, hurry!

Nice.

Wow,

you are really an amazing woman.

Vivian?

I thought you might be tired after riding,

so I reserved a room for you here at the clubhouse.

You see,

I knew when I first saw you that you'd become my woman.

You're quite rash.

You have charm, President Jang.

Shall we have a drink?

Shall we?

For... us?

Yes, well.

It's got much more of a punch since you mixed it.

Vivian?

Let's...

uh...

There's nothing to worry about Chief Lee, I'm just about at Tae Hung Group.

Chairman Jang Yong,

excuse me for cutting into your call.

Huh? What is this?

Hello?

Sounds like some big talk.

Huh? Hello?

What is this?

Words by night are heard by mice,

and words by day are heard by birds, don't you know, Jang Yong?

What is this? Who are you?! Who the hell are you?!

You're on your way to Tae Hung Group, right?

Shall I just send you on your way to the afterlife?

To Kang Tae Ho?

Who are you, bastard?!

Who are you?

What are you after?

I'm just letting you know it's your turn next.

What?

What's your real identity?

Who are you?!

Choi Hae Ryong.

Choi Hae Ryong?

The phone will explode 3 seconds after it rings.

Oh! Chairman!

Tracking device installed in Hwang Woo Hyun's car.

Nicely done, Vivian.

Sunbae.

Are you okay?

I guess...

if a horse breaks it's leg, it can't be fixed?

A horse that can't race is done.

A horse that can't run isn't even a horse.

But,

was that the only way?

I think there was no other choice.

Yes?

Excuse me?

The Tae Hung building...

an explosion?

I understand. I'll be right there.

What's happened?

The Chairman's office at Tae Hung Group...

Is there something wrong at Tae Hung Group?

How did...

Ah.

Ah.

By the way,

I'd like to present you with a fine Arabian steed as a gift.

Why is that?

Because you lost a horse that was precious to you while racing me.

Michael,

I will obtain the horse that I ride.

Ah, yes.

Woo Hyun, Sunbae,

so did something happen over at Tae Hung Group?

Let's talk on the way.

I have an urgent matter, so...

Jin Bo Bae.

Huh?

Aren't you coming?

The Tae Hung building... an explosion?

Jang Yong almost died today too.

I really think you should really let go of it at this point.

I've staked my life on this too.

What is this? She's a reporter!

That's impossible, Father.

Looking after your father is looking after care of yourself.

He's not just targetting me!

A target?

It means that we may see another casualty.

Everything we've accumulated is recorded in those ledgers.

This is the first time I've met such a thoughtless woman as yourself.

Why is the CIS taking the safe?

It's probably not that Peter Pan.

How can you be so sure?

Because it's a face I know.
