- [Tony] Could it be that aliens are leaving evidence
of their visitations on Earth?
- The locals know to avoid this place at all costs.
- [Tony] And if so, what are they trying to tell us?
- This object was simply unbelievable.
- I've never seen any device that can stop on a dime
and take off at maximum velocity.
- [Tony] We found images that appear to be so unusual,
some people question if they're from our world at all.
- [George] Some believe that when you first look at these,
they scream alien.
- [Tony] On this special episode
of "The Proof Is Out There: Alien Edition,"
our team of top experts will investigate compelling evidence
of extraterrestrials on Earth.
- We have physical, deposited evidence,
which is absolutely mind blowing to me.
- [Tony] And then, we'll pass a verdict.
- One theory about this thing is that it is not of this world.
- These are not a hoax.
- The proof starts now.
[dramatic music]
Good evening and welcome to "The Proof Is Out There."
When a car tears out, it leaves behind skid marks.
But what does a UFO leave behind?
We're going back more than 50 years for this first one
in what's been called
some of the most credible UFO evidence of all time.
November 2nd, 1971, it's evening in the small town
of Delphos, Kansas.
16-year-old Ron Johnson is on his family farm
when he suddenly says he sees
a bright mushroom-shaped spacecraft hovering nearby.
Johnson runs to his parents, and they return just in time
to see the craft disappearing in the sky.
But back on the ground, they find this.
Where the UFO allegedly hovered is an eight-foot wide ring
with a whitish crust around the edge.
And take a closer look.
It looks like this ring is glowing.
Harlan Enlow was one of the first law enforcement officers
to arrive on the scene.
- It was a eye opening surprise.
Here's this white, dry ring, looks like a big donut,
sitting in the middle of a mud field.
And we took statements, we photographed it,
and we took actual soil samples.
- [Tony] Ron's mother, Irma Johnson,
tells Harlan she touched the white substance
and instantly, her fingers became numb.
Meanwhile, two other eyewitness reports
of the UFO that night are soon confirmed,
leading Harlan to only one conclusion.
- [Harlan] I am 100% convinced that an incident happened
and what the family told us was credible.
- [Tony] But it doesn't end there.
Journalist MJ Banias says when it comes
to reported UFO landing sites,
these strange sightings are not unique to Kansas.
- We have multiple cases that show UFOs
sort of landing on the ground.
One of the most famous cases was out of the 1980s
in France, in Trans-en-Provence,
where a gentleman was farming in his field
when he saw this large, disc-like object
take off into the sky,
and again, it left impression marks
as to where it was landed,
as well as some burn marks on the ground.
- With a 21-page soil report, the Delphos, Kansas UFO
is considered one of the most lapsed studied UFO cases
in history.
So you'd think if it was possible to explain this ring,
it would've been done by now.
But no dice.
Well, we got our experts here to give it another try.
[tense music]
We begin with astronomer
and video effects designer Marc D'Antonio.
- UFOs have been traditionally associated with heat,
meaning this might have been ash.
But there wasn't an excess of carbon ash
that I could see in the chemical report.
Some of the elements were hydrophobic in nature.
- [Tony] It's that hydrophobicity
that tells physicist Dr. Matthew Szydagis something's up.
- The term hydrophobic means water repellent.
Most soil really needs water.
That's how plants grow.
- [Tony] This photo taken of the Delphos soil sample
about 20 years after the incident
shows a drop of water repelling off it.
So there seems to be something amiss in the soil,
but is it really glowing?
D'Antonio thinks there's an explanation in the camera.
- It looks brighter on the film
precisely because it's a brighter soil
compared to the darker soil,
and the camera tries to balance the light.
- [Tony] But Szydagis says a camera artifact
doesn't explain further research from the soil report.
- We have physical, deposited evidence
that the samples still have the same glowing property today,
which is absolutely mind blowing to me.
- [Tony] For some, the evidence leans alien,
but geologist Dr. Bob Anderson thinks what we're looking at
is natural, a mix of an unknown organism in water
creating a froth of bacteria.
- I realize that this area is pretty conducive
to this kind of thing.
So I don't believe it has anything to do with the UFO.
I think it's a natural phenomena
of groundwater interaction and biology.
It's a gas that's being released by that bacteria.
- [Tony] But what about the numbness
in the mother's hand?
Dr. Anderson thinks he can explain that too.
- The mother got her hand burned a little bit
by touching that ring.
That usually happens if you have an acid.
It wouldn't surprise me if something
got into the groundwater.
My gut feeling is is that there was something buried
in that area that was manmade, chemical,
which would not show up on those 1970 soil surveys.
- [Tony] But still, why the ring shape?
Dr. Szydagis points to another popular theory,
that we're looking at a so-called fairy ring.
They're typically formed by fungus
feeding on decomposing matter in the soil.
The fungus then grows from the center outwards
to form a ring.
- Fairy rings are also known
to have a hydrophobic effect on the soil.
So this does appear to be a partial explanation
that knocks out one or two features
but doesn't seem to fit the entire story.
[tense music]
- From a fairy ring to a possible UFO landing
and even acidic soil,
there were just so many conflicting theories here,
plus all those credible witnesses.
Our verdict is that this is simply
an unexplained phenomenon.
Before you get any ideas to investigate,
you should know that the family eventually buried the ring
to discourage curious trespassers.
But if you ever come across one yourself,
you know who to call.
Emerging 5,000 years ago, ancient Egyptian
is one of the world's oldest writing systems,
consisting of about 1,000 hieroglyphs.
But one recently discovered hieroglyph in particular
feels bizarrely out of place.
In fact, it looks like it belongs right here, right now.
It's April 2009 in Abydos, Egypt.
A French tourist is visiting the Great Temple
built by pharaoh Seti I.
As he wanders through the site,
he photographs something high up on a stone wall
that seems quite out of place.
In the photos, we see a panel in the temple wall
covered with a series of hieroglyphs.
Some seem just like standard characters.
But above those appears a form that looks, to many,
less like something out of ancient Egypt
and more like a modern day helicopter.
And even more remarkable,
beside it are what seemed to be a tank and a spaceship.
- You can see it here with the rotors up top.
You have the back fin here and you have the body here.
Many believers see this as evidence
of an ancient alien intervention.
- [Tony] Journalist Eric Grundhauser
explains there's a concept
known as ancient astronaut theory,
which proposes that some extraterrestrial beings
visited Earth in centuries past.
- [Eric] It sort of created this idea
that aliens helped build the pyramids,
gave us otherworldly technology.
- [Tony] The three Great Pyramids in Giza
are said to align with the stars in Orion's Belt,
which would indicate whoever made them
had advanced astronomical knowledge
and was able to view the site from above.
And Grundhauser says many believe that the appearance
of the other seemingly modern conveyances on the temple wall
gives even more credence to this theory.
- Of course you have the helicopter here,
but then you also have things described by some
to look like a tank or the land speeder from "Star Wars."
- Italian artist and inventor Leonardo da Vinci
made prototype drawings of an ornithopter flying machine
way back in the mid 1500s,
but the first successful helicopters
didn't actually lift off until the 1920s.
So is it possible that the ancient Egyptians
somehow foresaw our technology,
either through their own genius or with alien help,
or could they have actually seen a helicopter-like craft
transported from another galaxy or from the future?
Let's consult the experts.
[tense music]
Archeologist Ed Barnhart examines the photos
to determine if the alien tech theory flies.
- Archeology uses this term called OOPA,
an out of place artifact.
Something that's out of place in the time period
you find it in, are OOPAs,
are these glyphs that really do look like
they're helicopters and spaceships.
- [Tony] Yet, anthropologist Kathy Strain
says the placement of these glyphs
calls the alien theory into question.
- This is the only place that this symbol occurs,
and it's actually up in the corner of the ceiling.
I would expect that if they had really seen a helicopter,
it would be prominent in that temple.
I would also suspect that if they knew
what helicopters were,
they would have them buried in the tombs of the kings.
And there's nothing like that that has ever been found.
Because space in a temple's very valuable.
when one Pharaoh dies and another Pharaoh
comes into power, he likely went into the temple
and erased what was there before and then wrote over it.
And that overwriting caused this illusion
that that symbol is a helicopter.
- [Tony] So it just may be coincidental
for a helicopter to appear in this amalgamation,
which Barnhart concludes is created
with a well-known technique.
- This panel, in its current state, is a palimpsest.
And essentially, you make plaster
out of the same material.
So you can actually shape a new spot
on a flat piece of limestone
to look like the raised hieroglyph that you just erased.
But it doesn't hold through the test of time
so it it falls off and you end up getting things
that look like untranslatable glyphs.
[tense music]
- [Tony] Because of its inconspicuous placement,
its lack of appearance elsewhere in ancient Egypt,
and the experience Barnhart has
with the creation of hieroglyphs,
our verdict is this symbol is an example of a palimpsest.
The original material has been written over,
but traces of it remain.
And over time, the deterioration of the carving
leaves behind an unintended shape that we recognize,
but not the pharaohs.
- Every year, tourists flock to snap photos
of natural wonders like Arizona's Grand Canyon.
But this next amazing marvel is so remote
and potentially dangerous
that it has very rarely been photographed,
much less visited.
And it's been confounding scientists for years.
It's summer 2006 in the Irkutsk Region of Russia.
Geologists Sergey Yazev and Dmitry Semenov
have set out to document their explorations of a remote site
that's baffled scientists to this day.
In their aerial footage, we can see a rock formation
protruding from the surrounding green forest.
The grayish rock looks otherworldly,
completely separate from its surroundings.
It rises 130-feet in the air, with a diameter of 520-feet.
From above, it almost looks like a giant crater.
However, another spherical shape rests inside,
like a volcano with a ball stuck in the center.
Journalist Amy Teitel says the infamous site
is known as the Patomskiy Crater.
- It sort of looks like a crater,
but there's this bolus-looking thing in the middle.
It's unclear how it formed or what exactly it is.
And because it's in a remote location in Siberia,
it's incredibly hard to study.
- [Tony] Teitel says the site was first studied
by Russian scientists in 1949 when the local Yakut people
warned a young geologist about it.
- The local people in the area are the Yakut people,
and they've been aware of this formation for a long time.
It's known as the Fire Eagle's Nest or the Devil Place.
The locals know to avoid this place at all costs.
And they say that anyone who gets too close to it
is immediately overcome with a sense of dread.
One expedition was forced to stop
when its leader died of a sudden heart attack
just three miles from the crater.
- In 2010, the Patomskiy Crater Conference
was held in St. Petersburg, Russia,
where scientists gathered to discuss its origin.
Their results, inconclusive.
So is what we're seeing truly evidence of extraterrestrials?
We have our own team of experts,
so let's see what they can unearth.
[tense music]
NASA geologist Dr. Bob Anderson considers one theory
that's gained some traction,
that the crater could have been created
by two consecutive meteorites.
- We've seen where impacts have hit this area,
especially Siberia.
My problem with the impact idea
is that you don't see an ejecta blanket.
- [Tony] Ejecta blanket is the blanket of debris
surrounding an impact crater.
There is typically a star-shaped distribution of ejecta
around the crater rim because the debris
is ejected up and then out.
There's no ejecta blanket here,
so Anderson is able to rule out meteorites.
Then another theory, could this be a volcano?
- [Bob] The problem is that this
is in a limestone sedimentary rock.
Limestones are developed at the bottom of oceans,
and sedimentary rocks don't form volcanoes.
- [Tony] Siberia is not known for its tectonic activity,
so that makes a volcanic eruption even less likely.
Volcanoes occur most frequently
at the boundaries of tectonic plates,
where the plates are actively moving towards
or away from each other, which isn't happening here.
So could it be a different kind of explosion?
[explosion booming]
Archeologist Dr. Ed Barnhart says that scientists
have detected radiation in the area, leading to theories
about possible undercover military operations.
- When they really started studying it,
it was the Cold War.
So, Americans were very worried
that maybe this was another Russian test site.
The trees around the crater are growing up taller
and had higher levels of uranium
and thorium.
Radiation does make certain plant life
grow bigger and stronger.
So now we have some hint that there is radiation
coming out of here,
but a bomb creates a completely different kind of crater
than we see here.
This crater is compact and it's high.
So it's coming up from the ground.
It's not an explosion that sent things out to the outside.
- [Tony] But Barnhart found a clue.
There's a high level of magnetic activity
in and around this crater.
- [Tony] This could mean that radiation
is naturally coming up from deposits under the earth.
- What we're seeing here likely
is the thorium and uranium that they detected in the trees
decaying under the earth, making an exothermic reaction,
exploding up into this crater.
The exothermic reaction is the same heat
that took the surrounding iron and turned it magnetic.
- [Tony] Anderson believes all this heat
might have caused what's known as a mud volcano,
which differs from the traditional magma volcano
that we've already ruled out.
These natural formations are created
by the eruption of hot water, pressurized gases, and mud
as opposed to lava.
- There have been several mud volcanoes
identified in Greenland,
where you find the sediments on top and they come up.
I've not heard of one being dominated by limestone,
but it's not impossible.
- [Tony] One problem, though.
This theory doesn't explain why this site
instills such fear in the locals
or why the expedition leader suffered a heart attack.
So the true picture remains muddy, for now.
[tense music]
Our verdict, this is an unexplained geological anomaly
that still has us all stumped.
It's possible it was caused by a mud volcano,
but that doesn't explain why the formation
is made out of limestone.
Luckily, we feel like we're in good company
if the greatest minds on Earth are also at a loss.
- Humans have been carving and drawing on rocks
for tens of thousands of years,
but we've never seen anything quite as precise
as this next formation.
Maybe it's a monument, maybe it's a message,
and it's definitely a mystery.
It's October, 2021 near the Tayma Oasis
in northwest Saudi Arabia.
Photographer Satish Javali
is trekking through the remote desert area
to document a magnificent site.
His shots show a monumental rock formation
in the shape of a rounded rectangle.
It appears to be a monadnock,
which is an isolated massive stone.
The 18 by 27-foot ochre-colored slab
is covered in prehistoric petroglyphs of horses, camels,
and hunters shown in stark relief and detail.
But these 4,000 year old drawings
are not the most notable feature of this formation.
That honor is reserved for a perfectly precise crevice
that divides the rock in two.
The crack is so straight and exact
that it seems impossible it could be natural or even manmade
without the most advanced precision tools.
What's even more remarkable is that each half
is balanced precariously on a pedestal,
yet the formation remains standing after millennia.
Satish says he's never seen anything quite like it.
- It is simply mind-blowing the way the rock has been split.
The archeological specialists have gone there,
but nobody has come up with the right answer.
- [Tony] The large, solid boulder looks as though
it was split in half with the aid of a precision laser.
It's hard to believe this perfect crack down the middle
could have been accidental.
So there are a couple of things I wanna show you
with the Al Naslaa rock.
First of all, this pedestal right here,
this pedestal right here.
Built for monuments to rest on, right?
Take a look at the line down the center.
How does this happen?
If you had a stone saw,
could you cut the stone that perfectly?
Again, there are petroglyphs all through this rock.
This rock was created hundreds of thousands of years ago.
And it has certainly spawned wild and amazing stories.
Journalist Eric Grundhauser says one theory
is that the people who drew the glyphs 4,000 years ago
also split the rock.
But did they have advanced enough technology at that time?
- The ancient cultures of the area
were working with much more rudimentary tools
than one would expect to be able to create something
with such precision.
It's almost as if someone would've had to have had a laser
or some sort of highly, highly precision saw
to create this sort of break.
It could have been created possibly
by the Nabataean people,
the same culture that created the Petra site in Jordan,
whose knowledge and expertise
would've possibly been advanced enough
to create something with such precision
as we see in the Al Naslaa formation.
Is it possible that the Al Naslaa formation
was created by extraterrestrials?
Was it left as a gift,
not unlike the monolith from "2001: A Space Odyssey,"
to push humanity forward, to inspire us?
- As early as the fifth century BC,
the Nabataean began carving
elaborate multi-story building facades
into the red sandstone cliff faces of Petra.
But that site is in Jordan,
450 miles away from the Al Naslaa rock,
and it involves more complex carvings
than a single straight line through one rock
in the middle of nowhere.
So that might be a stretch.
Let's see what our experts can dig up.
[tense music]
Physicist Matthew Szydagis investigates
to see if the rock in Al Naslaa
could actually have been made by man or aliens.
- So I've taken an image of the Al Naslaa rock,
and I've actually drawn
two perfectly straight lines from my computer.
And what you can see in several locations
is that actually the rock pokes past the straight lines.
So this gap is actually not perfectly straight.
Humans could create cuts in rocks,
and nearby civilizations here are known to have done that.
No need for ancient aliens.
- [Tony] Since the line isn't actually
as perfectly straight as it looks at first,
perhaps it was made by people from the region.
Archeologist Dr. Ed Barnhart
says nearby ancient civilizations like the Egyptians
had special techniques for cutting into rock
without high tech tools.
- The typical way that Egyptians
would split a stone like this
would be to get up on the top of it
and pick holes into it in a line.
Then as they pecked the holes deep,
they then put wooden stakes inside each one of the holes.
- [Tony] So the Egyptians would put the stakes
in a straight line, like the one seen at Al Naslaa.
- And then they would water those stakes
like you water a plant.
When the wood expanded together as a line of stakes,
they would pull the rock apart.
And that split will travel through the whole stone
and split it.
- [Tony] But geologist Dr. Bob Anderson
says there aren't any telltale signs
of this construction technique that you would expect to see
on the top or sides of the rock if the crack was manmade.
- There's no chip marks, there's no pieces.
You don't even see fragments on the ground around it
that would say if you're chipping and breaking.
I realized that this monadnock, or this isolated rock here,
is not isolated.
There's almost a trail of boulders going back.
They're all cracked at the exact location.
You can see that the crack is a result
of regional tectonic features.
- [Tony] So Anderson believes the rock
may sit on a fault line and it's likely an earthquake
or shifting tectonic plates created the crack,
not just in this boulder,
but in other rocks along the same fault line.
Or it could also be that the crack is a joint,
which in geological terms
means when a rock breaks naturally without displacement.
It's rare, but sometimes the fracture can divide the rock
in an unusually straight line.
Another possibility is that freeze-thaw weathering
may have caused the crack.
But no matter how it was split in two,
Anderson thinks erosion may have played a part
in its near perfect appearance.
- The reason it looks so clearly cut
is because it's been willowed out by the wind.
It's being almost like sandblasted and polished,
which has opened up that crack more.
- [Tony] The ground around and under the boulder
eroded so much that eventually it was left just resting
on these two natural pedestals.
Someday, the forces of gravity
will likely cause it to collapse.
[tense music]
The Al Naslaa rock has baffled scientists for centuries,
but we think we finally found the true answer.
Our verdict?
Tectonic activity created a crack thousands
or even millions of years ago.
It was later perfected with erosion,
which also made those pedestals the rock now rests on.
- We've seen videos of UFOs zigzagging,
tracking commercial aircraft, and even splitting in two,
but this next video is something different.
And if nothing else, it proves that what goes up
does not always come down.
November 2020, on the coast of Cornwall
in southwest England, a live webcam viewer
is recording a gorgeous sunset.
But the footage captures something
more than a postcard-worthy seascape.
A glowing orb races onto screen, hovers,
then rocket straight up and out of frame.
Watch again.
Rapid deceleration and then vertical flight.
It appears to rocket almost 3,000 feet straight up
in less than a second.
Some observers on the internet
alleged it was some kind of alien craft,
but there was another theory.
See how quickly the object rises?
With that kind of speed, is it trying
to not just leave the Earth but also our time period?
- That indicates some sort of space-time distortion.
- [Tony] Anthropologist Michael Masters theorizes
that the passengers in UFO sightings like this
could be us from the future.
- It's important to consider our own evolution
and our technological and biological evolution
in the sense that maybe they're us.
Maybe they're coming from the future
to examine their own hominin evolutionary past.
- [Tony] Masters believes that if future humans
can manipulate time to travel into the past,
they might also be able to build spacecraft
capable of these remarkable maneuvers.
- [Michael] This would also make sense in the context
of what we see in this video,
as this craft flies in at tremendous speed,
and stops instantaneously,
and then accelerates at tremendous speed.
- [Tony] G-force is a measure of acceleration,
with 1 G the force Earth exerts on us.
And at first glance, it looks like G-force
generated by this object's acceleration
would be off the charts.
- I've never seen any device that can stop on a dime
and take off at maximum velocity.
So I would suspect that if this is for real,
it's either an experimental craft by the military
or, let's face it,
possibly an extraterrestrial civilization.
- The forces suggested by this video
pose a technical problem for the time travel theory.
Today's astronauts endure about 3 Gs on liftoff.
At around 6 Gs, the average person can black out.
Past 100 Gs, the forces can shatter bones
and squash our organs.
So if this is a craft transporting humans
from the future, how would they survive?
Is another explanation more plausible?
Let's turn the video over to our experts.
[tense music]
Forensic video analyst Michael Primeau
checks to make sure this video isn't a fake.
- I don't detect any evidence
to support that this has been fabricated
or that this object has been inserted
into the video recording.
I've examined dozens of UFOs and UAPs over the years,
and I have seen some objects that travel
at a high rate of speed.
This is exhibiting similar characteristics.
- [Tony] So the video is legit and the object's rapid movement
is consistent with other UFO sightings,
but that doesn't rule out every existing human technology.
- A leading theory would be a drone.
- [Tony] But Tim McMillan says a secret military drone
wouldn't be out in public.
And regulations for commercial drones
make that explanation unlikely.
- First of all, for commercial drones,
they're capped off at 300-feet for regulation purposes,
so it's hard to get an accurate gauge
on altitude and everything,
but we can see it move through the cloud cover out of frame.
So it definitely appears to be exceeding
that 300-foot maximum that you would expect
with a commercial drone.
This one's unique.
I don't know that I have
a very good explanation for it, frankly.
- [Tony] Astronomer and video effects designer Marc D'Antonio
wonders if the object might be something else entirely,
a reflection.
- If this is a webcam, are we seeing this through a window?
Does that mean there is something
being put on the window,
like a laser pointer, that is moving across the window,
causing this to look this way?
- [Tony] But look at the rest of the frame.
There are no other reflections
suggesting there's a glass window between the camera
and the image it's recording.
- [Marc] I can't tell from this, so I can't come
to any reasonable conclusions.
- [Tony] This one seems to have stumped
just about everyone.
So that leaves Masters' time travel theory.
What does D'Antonio make of it?
- We've already figured out that we
might be able to go faster than the speed of light
by using a warpage of space-time.
And NASA has got a funded lab looking at this
because they think it's a possibility down the line.
- [Tony] And recent research indicates that a worm hole,
another warpage in space-time,
could be used to travel through time.
- You know, sometimes science fiction
does become science fact, and it's a possibility.
[tense music]
- So our verdict?
Well, it's not a hoax, and it's not a plane or a drone,
and it's not a laser pointer.
Until we can identify it conclusively,
we'll consider this a genuine UFO.
But look, we really wanna get to the bottom of this.
If you have any more information about this clip,
please reach out and let us know.
- It is not uncommon to find remains
of deceased animals on a walk in the woods.
What's weird is when those remains
don't look like anything we remember from biology class.
It's January 17th, 2019.
Art student Kohei Kadowaki says he is hiking
through the dense woods near his home
in Chichibu City, Japan when he comes upon a figure
that is totally alien to him.
The footage and photos show what looks like
the skeletal remains of some creature.
But what?
As we zoom in for a closer look,
we can see it has strange, long, twisted talons.
Its spine is severely bent,
with a bone structure that looks almost birdlike.
But then there's the head, which is more square-shaped,
which conjures the image of Hollywood extraterrestrials.
And we see two rows of yellow, humanoid-like teeth.
It's no wonder Kohei was compelled

- Obviously, one theory about this thing
is that it is not of this world.
There are things about it that are very ET
by way of a giraffe.
It does sort of have the head shape
that a Grey alien might have.
- [Tony] Grey aliens
are the most frequently cited extraterrestrials
in reports of close encounters and abductions,
such as the famous Barney and Betty Hill abduction claim
from 1961.
They described Greys as having small, hairless,
humanoid bodies with large heads and black eyeballs.
These remains fit that description somewhat,
but there are other possibilities as well.
- Maybe this creature is the result of radiation fallout.
Japan was the site of two nuclear detonations
in World War II.
And more recently,
there was the 2011 Fukushima nuclear disaster,
which was rated a number seven
on the international nuclear and radiological event scale,
which was the same as Chernobyl.
- A lot of speculation on this one.
There was even buzz that it was some kind
of biological experiment gone wrong.
The obvious explanation is that it's a hoax.
But Grey alien sightings are always a hot topic,
so we'll give this figure its day in court.
[tense music]
First, we take the footage to anthropologist Kathy Strain,
who has researched accounts of Grey aliens.
So how does this corpse compare?
- When people talk about the Greys,
they usually bring up that there's little ones
and there's big ones.
And the larger ones have very long necks
and they're very skinny.
And this doesn't really look like that
because the proportion with the long neck and the head
isn't correct for it to be one of the taller Greys.
The legs should be much, much longer.
The arms should be much longer.
Everything should be scaled upward in size.
- [Tony] What about the nuclear radiation theory?
- The chances that the skeletons are still out in the wild
is unlikely.
- [Tony] Raccoons eat dead animals,
and they are so prevalent in Japan
their overpopulation is causing a national hubbub.
In the past decade,
the country's raccoon population has tripled.
Strain says any corpse decomposing in the woods
outside Chichibu since the 2011 Fukushima disaster
would've been picked apart by wildlife scavengers.
And she points out something else that bothers her.
- Its eye sockets are too small
to actually have an exterior eyeball.
You may be born without physical exterior eyes,
but you would still have human-sized eye sockets
below the skin.
[baby crying]
- [Tony] Microphthalmia is a phenomenon
on which someone's born with one or two eyes
that are very small.
The eye sockets on this creature are small,
but they appear too tiny
even for a creature with microphthalmia.
Biologist Floyd Hayes is also skeptical
that these remains ever belonged to a living being.
- There are ways in which we could change
the morphology of animal
typically by giving it an extra limb,
or a digit, or even a head.
But to get something to change so dramatically
like the entire head shape
so it's sticking out on both sides or a much longer neck,
that's much more difficult to do.
- [Tony] Hayes is left with one remaining possibility.
- I believe this is a hoax.
- [Tony] Given that none of the theory
seemed to hold up, we tracked down Kohei in Japan.
And when pressed, he admitted the alien corpse
is a project he created for his studies
at Tokyo University of the Arts.
[tense music]
- So mystery solved, this was a clever hoax.
Exciting as it may be to imagine stumbling
upon an alien skeleton during a hike in the woods,
this figure just doesn't cut the mustard.
- Prehistoric cave paintings have been discovered
all around the world.
But deep in the Australian Outback,
we found some images that appear to be so unusual,
some people question if they are from our world at all.
Instead, could they be ancient alien astronauts?
In the Kimberley Region of Western Australia,
the aboriginal people
left intriguing paintings on cave walls.
They are called the Wandjina,
incredible beings Aboriginals said created the world.
incredible beings Aboriginals said created the world.
Take a closer look.
Do you see the round heads and circular eyes?
According to George Haas,
founder of the The Cydonia Institute,
the Wandjina could be out of this world evidence.
- They have radiating feathers that come off the head.
Some believe that when you first look at these,
they scream alien.
And the absence of mouths suggest that possibly,
these extraterrestrials were telepathic.
- [Tony] Wait a minute, did he say aliens?
It's an intriguing theory.
What we do know is that Australian aboriginal culture
goes back 65,000 years and holds that humans were created
by the Wandjina.
These unique paintings are a record of that period,
which they call Dreamtime.
- You don't see these type of images
in other cave paintings done by Neanderthals and early man,
which mostly deal with hunting and animals, deer, bison.
But these paintings that we're seeing in Australia
are totally unique.
- [Tony] In some tales, the Wandjina are referred to
as sky beings or spirits from the clouds
who came down from the Milky Way
and created the Earth and its people.
- Some believe that these portraits of the Wandjina
certainly blur the line between extraterrestrial
and spiritual world.
They seem to have aspects of both.
- When it comes to our origins,
some speculate that ancient extraterrestrial visitors
engineered the creation of modern humans
through DNA manipulation or some other means.
The paintings are intriguing.
Look closely at the lines going across,
creating sections on the body here and here.
Could this be the pattern of an ancient spacesuit?
We asked our experts.
[tense music]
We begin with anthropologist Kathy Strain,
who notes that if the paintings are an elaborate hoax,
then someone must have thought of it over a century ago.
- They were documented by anthropologists
more than a hundred years ago.
And outside the fact that you're adding some paint
to keep the color alive, they haven't changed.
These are not a hoax.
- [Tony] So if the pictures are real, are they of aliens?
We ask archeologist Ed Barnhart.
- There are people who envision
that it's helmets on their heads and suits on their bodies,
but this is a very plodding-looking helmet,
the kind of helmet that you see in 1950s aliens movies.
It's kind of ridiculous to believe
that an advanced civilization came here in suits
that, in our current technology, are archaic.
- [Tony] And the idea that these designs on the bodies
are spacesuits?
- You're gonna see an image like this
and envision suits on their bodies.
But we do see today, in aboriginal ceremonies,
people typically paint their bodies completely white,
their faces, their hair,
and then they'll put some kind of decoration over that.
So I think that it is clearly connected to aboriginal people
who today, paint their bodies in a very similar fashion.
- [Tony] In fact, Kathy Strain sees a clue in one image
that convinces her these are strictly human bodies.
- [Kathy] It is pretty rare to see genitalia
of a male in rock art.
And based on things that witnesses say,
that space aliens don't have genitalia,
that that's not how they reproduce,
these look like human genitalia.
- [Tony] So what are we seeing?
- The halo around the head,
I don't believe that they intended it to be interpreted
as anything other than it's the process of transforming,
and that's your head kind of extending above itself
and continuing to carry out.
- [Tony] The halo has been used
in many different cultures throughout history
to represent spiritual transformation,
including the Aboriginal Australians.
- These images around the heads
are some kind of symbol
of the expansion of their minds and spirits.
[tense music]
- So our verdict, these were likely humans.
In fairness, you do have to ask,
do the aboriginal traditions of body decorations
stem from a time when strange beings were observed?
It's impossible to completely discount.
But if these particular paintings were aliens,
well, then let's just say they were endowed in a human way.
From a UFO landing
to extraterrestrial writing and drawings,
we've unveiled some pretty remarkable evidence.
But one question still remains.
If aliens are attempting to leave evidence behind,
what do they want us to know?
Thank you for watching this special edition

Please send us any videos, images, or sounds
you think we should investigate.
And remember to keep those cameras rolling.
