People assume me and my brothers

have amazing adventures all the time.

Well, we don't.

We pretty much just go to school.

So I made one up and put it in a comic.

There's our dad yelling at us in vermin to be careful.

But here, we got lured into a trap

by the woman known as Bishop!

She's got a grudge against mutants or something.

But for the first time, I was all alone,

separated from my family.

With the courage of a true hero,

I defeated Bishop's mechazoid!

Uh, April helped.

My brothers are still out there though, alone.

- We are going to this party.

Everyone loves us.

- I'm not gonna let anything happen to us, Dad.

- I've got this.

- [scoffs] I'm not worried.

- Humans all seem pretty awesome.

- Even if we run into trouble,

there's nothing we can't handle together.

- I can't handle this!

- [groaning]

[exciting music]

♪ ♪

- Will you please drive faster?

- This thing has, like, 47 gears!

- Pick one!

- If you want to go faster so bad,

then you drive!

[tires squeal]

- What are you gonna ask me to do next,

get a job and pay taxes?

Should I sign up for a 401[k]?

I'm only a teen, man.

Being a teen is hard.

It's, like, peak puberty.

I don't know who I'm gonna become,

and I kind of miss who I was.

- Are you doing a comedy bit right now?

[tires squeal]

- Dude, stop hitting the walls!

It's getting closer!

[loud thud]

- Where am I supposed to go?

- I'm open to suggestions.

- I'm yourhostage, bro!

- You're not a hostage!

I keep telling you this.

You are free to leave.

- Yeah, okay.

I'm not falling for that!

- What would Leo do?

We should...I don't know,

rat ourselves out and kiss up to Dad?

[brakes screech]

[both scream]

[rock music]

[train horn blows]

[both scream]

[mechazoid warbles]

I work for Bishop!

I'm the hostage here!

[truck beeping]

- Yes! That was totally on purpose.

Come on, Rod.

We gotta bounce.

- Aah!

[both panting]

This is it, isn't it?

This is where you're gonna eat me.

- Why do you keep on thinking I'm the bad guy here?

- Oh, I don't know, maybe it's the fact that you've been

using me as a human shield this entire time.

- I'm not human-shielding you!

[explosives whistling]

[sirens wailing, helicopters whirring]

I was just trying to save you, man.

- Yeah, right. Give me, like, one example.

- Are you kidding me?

Five minutes ago?

And before that, back at the shipyards?

Remember that?

[exciting music]

- That seemed like a good plan in the moment,

but we may have blown up a sizable chunk of New York.

Also, it's probably Mikey's fault.

- My muscles can't flex us out of this one, bros.

- I'm a nerdlinger,

and these robots are a threat to all of us,

especially that chump over there!

- Whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa.

First off, I ain't no chump, all right?

And your story's got no credibility.

Bishop's mechs aren't allowed to hurt humans.

- Let me finish.

- Mutation detected.

Robo-charge, activate!

- That robot is definitely targeting you, human,

despite what your boss says.

- [as Rod] Oh, no, I have frozen in the face of danger.

♪ ♪

- Huh. Maybe you actually did save me.

- Now be quiet while I figure this out.

My brothers are in trouble, and I need to do something.

I was supposed to be at a party tonight.

I'd be great at parties.

I'm not the one that's supposed to figure out stuff.

I'm not the smart one or the strong one or--

dude, thanks.

I really appreciate that.

- What? No.

I was feeling your weird mutant skin.

I never touched a real-life mutant before.

This is like meeting a celebrity,

like Tom Cruise or something.

You're like Tom Cruise, but, you know,

with a really rough skin condition.

- Wh-what the heck, man?

Come on. We have to keep moving.

Your boss' evil robot is still out there.

[groovy rock music]

- Sorry, it's just, you know--

- Will you keep your voice down?

- [whispering] I'm sorry. But ever since I first saw

mutants were real, I've wanted to meet one.

- Really? Why?

[car horns honking]

- Mutants are the coolest.

You're super strong, super fast.

You breathe fire.

- We're not dragons, dude.

Wait, you think mutants are cool?

Aren't you and your boss trying to destroy us all?

What is her problem, anyway?

- I don't know. She's weird

and a little too intense, if we're being honest here.

My dad's making me work with her.

He's super rich and he pays for all her robotics stuff.

- Whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa.

Hold up. Bishop works for your dad?

Huh! This is perfect!

You can just call him, and he can make her stop.

You can save my brothers.

- Yeah. I guess I could.

- Yes!

- But only if you do something for me.

- Dude, that's not cool.

- No, no. It's gonna be awesome.

Are you ready?

You're gonna make me...

into a mutant.

[big cat snarls]

- I'm sorry, what?

You wantto be a mutant?

Dude, even if I could--

- Isn't it all about your blood?

I heard that on TV. It's like a mutagen.

- That is a horrible idea.

You can't mutate a human.

- Have you tried?

- Well, no,

but for all you know, injecting you with mutant blood

would explode you or something.

- This is genius, trust me.

You want to help your brothers, right?

[tense music]

It's one phone call away.

- Mm...

I can't.

It's too irresponsible.

Leo always says--

- I'll throw in a million bucks.

- I'm in!

- Here's to me being a mutant,

the best thing that'll ever happen to me

and couldn't possibly have a consequence.

[camera shutter clicks]

[ominous music]

[electronic beeping]

[mechazoid warbles]

♪ ♪

[ominous music]

[groovy rock music]

♪ ♪

- Why are we hiding, dude?

I'm rich, and you're, like, a hero.

- Shh! We can't just walk in

and be like, "Hi, I know it's after hours,

"but can we borrow some veterinary supplies?

We want to do some blood transfusions."

- If you say so.

What's your plan then?

- I...

I don't know.

That's usually Leo's thing.

- So there's Leo the leader, Raph the muscle,

Donnie the smart one, and you.

What do you do again?

- I bring a certain je ne sais quoi.

- So you're, like, the lame one.

- Me? Well, what about you?

At least Bishop makes robots and has evil plans.

You're like the adult intern.

And what's up with your piercing eyes, by the way?

They're, like, super intense.

- It's called anisocoria, if you must know.

and it makes me super special.

and he turned off the lights for nighty-night time.

[tense music]

[buzzer blares]

[bear snarling]

- See? Boom!

No power.

All the doors will open right up.

Just like "Jurassic Park,"

which worked out just fine for everybody.

[crickets chirping]

Oh.

Well, we'll have at least six minutes

before they're back online.

- How are you so sure?

- Because that's how long Donnie yells at me for

when I unplug his stuff.

- That tracks for me.

Let's do this!

[epic electronic music]

♪ ♪

[groovy rock music]

♪ ♪

This is gonna be so wild.

In, like, 20 minutes,

I'm gonna be pulling off those same moves.

- Uh, yeah, sure,

because I'm totally going to turn you into a mutant.

But as soon as we do this, you're calling your dad, right?

- Of course, man, of course.

[electricity powers up]

[camera beeps]

[ominous music]

- That was fast.

What was that, like, two minutes?

Oh! What is that?

- We got ourselves some intruders.

- What, are they in costumes?

That guy's in a lab coat. The other one looks like--

- Doesn't matter.

Time to put some animals in their cages.

[exciting music]

♪ ♪

[sea lion roars] - Aah!

[continues screaming]

- What part of "stealth"

do you not unders-- [camera beeping]

The power's back online.

We should bail.

[ominous music]

So your plan based on unplugging

your brother's computer didn't work out.

So what, man?

We can still do this.

- You really think so?

to the employee entrance undetected.

[breathing raggedly]

Probably not an Italian renaissance artist, no offense.

I mean, how did that even happen, dude?

[camera shutter clicks]

like Power Rod or--

- No, that's a terrible name.

[various animal noises]

Dude, look at that thing.

[leopard sneezes]

Can you imagine if that got turned into a mutant?

- Will you stop trying to freak me out?

What about this for a name?

- Don't worry. I doubt Jay-Z and Beyoncé

came up with Blue Ivy on the first shot.

[sneaky music]

It's amazing how a lab coat

just makes you look smarter, you know?

I need 20ccs of blood, stat!

[chuckles] - Are you doing another bit?

- What? I watch a lot of medical shows.

- Finally, I get to be the man.

No more making fun of my eyes.

No more referring to me as quote, unquote, "husky."

No more relying on Dad's money.

- No offense, Rod,

but you're starting to sound like the kind of guy

who really shouldn't be getting mutant powers.

- Hey! Less talking and more extracting!

Tomahawk Rod awaits!

- Absolutely.

who will then totally save my brothers.

- Freeze!

[various animal noises]

Oh, right, I forgot about the killer robot.

- Argh!

- [slo-mo] No!

[leopard snarls curiously]

[monkey chatters]

[vial clinking]

[bear moans]

- Wow, that's some magical glass.

[pigeon cooing]

- Wait, no! Stop!

[pigeon gulps]

[pigeon coos nervously]

[ominous music]

- [trilling]

- You said it takes an hour!

- [gasps]

[mechazoid chatters]

[electricity zapping]

[mechazoid whirring]

- [trilling fearfully]

[continues trilling]

- Whoa!

[exciting music]

See? No sweat.

You're safe, pigeon guy.

You're safe.

[soft music]

How about I call you Pete?

That's a chill name.

There's nothing to fear, Pete.

- [trills questioningly]

- I totally got this.

[mechazoid warbling]

Ah!

- Wait, what did you inject me with?

- I don't know. Monkey blood maybe?

[dramatic music]

- Am I gonna turn into a monkey?

- Now's not the time.

♪ ♪

- That's what you get for betraying my trust!

For not having a better plan!

- That's mean!

And I told you, planning is Leo's thing.

[mechazoid warbling]

[electronic beeping]

♪ ♪

- What? No!

I'm not a mutant, you dumb machine!

- [gasps]

I have a plan. - [squawks]

- Hey, Smokey!

[rock music]

Come and get it!

- [squawks]

[bear roars]

- Aha! So it is play dead.

- You really gotta shut up now!

- [screams]

- Pigeon Pete, you just gotta breathe.

- [cooing wildly] - Breathe in.

- [cooing calmly]

- We're gonna get through this.

- Mikey, I've said a lot of mean stuff tonight.

But we're cool, right?

Because you gotta help for real.

- You get out of here. Take Pete.

I'll deal with the robot.

- You'd do that for me? Really?

- Yeah. I mean, I saved your life.

I created him.

I guess that makes both of you my responsibility.

[handle rattling, loud banging]

- [whimpers]

[intense music]

[screams]

[mechazoid warbling]

- And this robot is about to get

some responsibility upside the head.

[rock music]

[mechazoid shrieks]

- [yelps]

- Ha! - [squawks excitedly]

- Go!

Uh, this probably isn't what you want to hear,

- [squawking]

You don't know your dad's number?

- Nobody knows anybody's number!

That's what the phone is for!

to Bishop's factory and ask her.

She's old. She probably knows it.

- [gasps] You know where Bishop is!

You can take me to her, and I can stop her.

I can save my brothers.

- [coos emphatically]

- Fine. But if she asks,

I'm your hostage.

- Come on! You too, Pete.

- Maybe on the ride over, we can talk

about the additional mutant blood situation?

- Ugh! No!

- [cooing] - Hey, shh.

- I can't believe this thing got

turned into a mutant and not me.
