was just a name on a tombstone.

Since the long-gone day s
of Portella della Ginestra,

other crimes had been added
to the list of the band's activities.

Giuliano had continued
to kidnap, blackmail and kill.

A hundred carabinieri and policemen
had died fighting him.

Between 1947 and 1949, the government
replaced dozens of politicians

and four top police inspectors,

but the outlaw was unstoppable.
