You cannot go around the world with a shroud of sin!

[Grunting]
- My leg. - Oh.
Is it bad?
No, it's not too bad.
Do you see my class?
No.
Well, we're on a class field trip
and I lost them a few seconds ago.
[Whooshing]
Oh, officer.
Officer!
- Officer! - [Screeching]
Slow down, sir.
- STEPHEN: Uh, what's your name? - Maria.
Maria, she was-- she's with a class field trip,
she got lost.
DISPATCHER: [Indistinct radio chatter]
Roger that, dispatch, we're en route.
Listen, we don't have time for this.
Get out of the street, sir.
[Siren wailing]
[Vrooming]
[Whooshing]
[Rustling]
Do you know your phone number?
Maybe the school's number?
My house.
Okay, I need you to follow me.
Okay.
Oh no, over here.
A little bit to your left.
[Man sighs]
Number?
310-555-3235.
[Phone ringing]
You have another number?
Nope, that's it.
It's just me and my mom.
Where do you live?
Santa Monica.
How am I gonna get home?
We uh, let's-- let's try the number again.
235.
[Taking deep breaths]

I told you my mom works in an office downtown.
You know, way up in the sky.
[♪♪♪♪♪]
Is it beautiful?
I guess so.
Come on.
[Traffic whooshing and honking in background]
WOMAN 2: I really don't understand.
Shouldn't that be covered?
How do you expect anyone to afford that?
[Sighing]
We've already spent so much between the specialist and--
How's is it this morning?
Yes, everything's taken care of.
- Excellent. - Mmhmm.
Good afternoon, Dr. Murphy.
I'll need to get in my safe deposit box as well.
Excellent.
Uh, Aaron will take care of everything.
[Mouthing] Get off the phone.
I'll call you back in my break.
[Phone beeps]
Dr. Murphy.
Over here.
Go ahead, sit down.

It's a lot of cash and we really recommend
- that you-- - I'll be fine, thank you.
I'll need to get in my safe deposit box now.
Of course, sir.
So what are you getting from your safe deposit box?
[♪♪♪♪♪]
[Taking deep breaths]
Have a nice day.
Sorry.
That's okay.
[Taking deep breaths]
Bye, Dr. Murphy.
[♪♪♪♪♪]
[Traffic whooshing]
MARIA: So mister--
Mister!
Stay close.
Is that you, mister?
Keep talking I'll find you.
I'm right here
I think you gotta talk to me, so I can follow your voice.
Well, what do you want me to say?
How about your name?
I'm Stephen.
Dr. Stephen Murphy.
So what kind of doctor?
Do you work with kids?
Sometimes, but not that often.
I'm a cardiac surgeon.
Oh, so that's the best kind, huh?
Do you even know what it is?
No, but it sounds like the best kind.
Most people call me a heart surgeon.
Oh wow, it is the best kind!
A cardiac surgeon.
So cool.
Is it gross?
I don't notice it.
Really?
Well, I don't know what it would look like,
but I think it would be gross.
You get used to it.
See, it is gross.
So did you throw up the first time you had
to cut some guy in half?
I've never cut anybody in half.
Yeah, well, you've got to see some guy's heart
beating inside him all bloody, and red, and stuff--
[Chuckles] And that's gross.
It's just that I'll never know what it even means
to be grossed out by something like that.
You've never been grossed out before?
MARIA: No.
And if I drag my fingernails down the chalkboard?
No.
If I tell you what it feels like
to hold a beating heart in my hand,
would that gross you out?
What's the shape of your heart?
[Ticking]
[♪♪♪♪♪]
MARIA: Where are we?
Shh, keep your voice down, we're in a library.
Oh!
Are we gonna check out some books?
Do you think they have books for blind kids?
I'm not sure.
MARIA: What books are you getting?
I'm not getting any books.
Are you meeting someone here?
Come on.
Excuse me, ma'am.
LIBRARIAN: Ooh, yeah.
This book say "overdue".
Actually, exactly a year to today.
How much do I owe you?
[Humming]
[Maria sighing]
MARIA: This is boring!
You would think with all these books
we could have some fun.
Shh, we're in a library.
Can we go look for some books for the blind, you know,
while we're waiting?
Do you have any Braille books for children?
Yes, behind you.
Here you go.
Oh, I love this book!
Knots on a Counting Rope!
Rope?
It's about a blind boy who learns about his birth
through his grandfather.
[♪♪♪♪♪]
[Beeping]
[Typing]
[Taking deep breaths]
MARIA: Dr. Stephen.
Yeah.
Promise you won't leave me.
Promise.
It's time to go.
[Traffic whooshing and honking]
I'll carry your bag to the car for a $1!
Hey, I'm talkin' to you, man!
Man, I'll take anything, man.
Come on, let's pick up the pace, let's go.
- Come on. - Oh, man!
Come on!
I know you got the change.
MARIA: Stephen, please keep talkin'.
What do you want me to talk about?
What you got in the bag?
It's some books?
I take them books.
Talk about music.
Well, I-- I got a tight schedule.
We gotta-- we gotta really move here, please.
- You like it? - No.
MARIA: Why not?
You just don't know what to listen to.
So why are you so into music?
I'm gonna be a famous singer one day.
- STEPHEN: Really? - Yeah.
My mom says I have the most beautiful voice ever.
Is that so?
I could sing for you.
Uh, no, no, no.
It's not the time or place right now.
If you sing, you won't be able to hear my voice.
Come on, we're gonna cross right here.
Come on, here we go.
[Traffic whooshing and honking]
[Persian song playing in background]
Can I help you?
Yes.
Um, I was hoping to see how much this is worth.
- May I? - Of course.
- Is this yours? - Yes.
Nice.
I'll give you 15 grand.
Well, I'm not selling it.
I just wanted to know what's it worth.
You must be really special lady.
It's a very rare ring.
Company that made these, only made ten with this style.
Probably worth about 20 grand.
Well, I--
Look, this is a collector's item.
I'm prepared to give you 25.
I'm sorry, I have to go.
- 30. - I really should be going.
I'm sorry to waste your time.
STORE OWNER: That's my final offer.
No, I can't.
Just please give it back.
You should take the money.
If you come back, I ain't giving you more than 15.
[♪♪♪♪♪]
[Fountain running]
[Birds chirping in distance]
Good.
Now, let's see it with a little more power this time, alright?
- I don't think I can. - You can, sweetheart.
Just go wide with your supporting leg,
the inside edge of your foot.
Watch.
Good.
MARIA: I feel like there's mist or something.
There's a-- there is a fountain
in the middle of the pond not too far from us.
What else do you see?
[♪♪♪♪♪]
I see some ducks, some trees, and grass, you know, the usual.
Ducks?
Yeah.
You've never fed the ducks?
No.
- Would you like to? - Yes!
Yes, please.
Uh, okay.
- Excuse me, ma'am. - Oh!
Oh, good afternoon.
How much for the duck food?
$3 a bag.
Oh, I know it sounds expensive,
but nobody's buying duck food these days, so...
We'll take three bags.
Well, God bless you, sir.
I knew you was good people when I saw you.
You know, everyone else is on the phone, talking.
So busy.
But good people still love the simple things.
- Thank you. - Oh!
Oh, the angels thank you.
And I do, too.
Stand right here.
That's your bag right here.
Duck food's right in there.
Got it?
Okay.
Just toss it right in front of you.
Here we go.
[Squawking]
STEPHEN: Okay, now they're coming.
- You see 'em? - No, I don't.
[Grunting]
Rest of the food, right down by your feet.
[Woman chuckling]
STEPHEN: Hey, come on! Get over here.
What are you? Martin Scorsese?
Help me with the cake, would you?
[Stephen and woman laughing]
[Squawking]
STEPHEN: Sweetie, why don't you sit right here
- and say "hi" to mommy? - GIRL: Hi, mom.
WOMAN 3: How old are you now, baby?
GIRL: I am 10.
- WOMAN 3: 10! - STEPHEN: 10?
- [Girl giggling] - STEPHEN: I had no idea!
How did you get so old?
Alright.
Oh-- oh, let me do the candles.
Hey!
Wait a minute.
Wait till we put the candles in!
[Woman chuckling]
[Ducks squawking and birds chirping in distance]
[♪♪♪♪♪]
[Sighs]
Maria?
Maria!
Maria!
Maria!
Maria.
Maria!
Maria!
[Vehicle honking]
Maria!
Maria?
Hey!
I know.
You-- you saw a little brown-haired girl?
Where'd she go? Which way?
There was a little girl if I remember right.
This little girl is blind.
Do you understand me? She's blind.
Did you see her, yes or no?
You gotta start at the beginning if you wanna get to the end.
[Woman laughing]
MARIA: Stephen?
Maria!
Maria, what are you doing?
Well, this little guy pulled out of his mama.
Hey, come on, we gotta go.
Okay, bye, doggy!
[Ticking]
[Whirring]
[Humming]
I like the way you describe things.
Would you mind telling me what you see now?
Let's play a game.
Tell me what you see at the next stop.
[Indistinct chatter]
I see a big building
and there's some people out in front of it.
That doesn't count.
Quick!
What else?
I see a bright blue Cadillac.
It's an old one.
What's a Cadillac?
A Cadillac.
It's a fancy car.
The old ones are especially nice.
They have these uh, big fins that stick out
like butcher knives, for taillights.
Sounds scary.
Time's up!
Good job.
Now, it's my turn.
I'll tell you all the things I hear.
Someone behind me is chewing bubble gum.
[Chewing]
Someone in the front can't stop bouncing their heel
into the floor.
Oh, and whoever's next to us is eating a doughnut.
Doughnuts are my favorite.
I win!
I got three things, you only got two.
Your turn.
There's a great view from the stop.
Just behind it you can see most of the city.
The landscape is so full of buildings,
it looks like a big magnified tongue.
Taste buds reaching up, savouring the sunlight.
Wow!
Hard concrete can barely hold back
the tropical nature beneath it.
The palm trees are bursting from the sidewalks,
shooting up in a way that even-- even Jack would--
Jack would be scared.
Jack?
Yeah.
As in uh, and the beanstalk.
- Oh! - [Chuckling]
- Okay. - [Chuckling]
Tie score.
[Ticking]
[Indistinct chatter]
[♪♪♪♪♪]
[Humming]
[Indistinct announcement]
This is us.
[Ding]
ANNOUNCER: Dr. Jason, telephone 3.
Dr. Jason, telephone 3.
STEPHEN: The kid has an aortic aneurysm, it's ruptured.
Let's prep him for surgery.
WOMAN 4: Yes, doctor.
[Tap running]
[Water splashing]
WOMAN 4: His blood pressure is dropping rapidly.
ANNOUNCER: Dr. Blair, Dr. Blair.
STEPHEN: Okay.
ANNOUNCER: Dr. James Hamilton, Dr. James Hamilton.
[Birds chirping in distance]
Why are we stopped?
This is where we're supposed to be.
- Alright. - Okay?
Yes.
I think so.
- Okay, I got it, baby. - Alright.
Thanks.
Okay.
[Taking deep breaths]
[Clinking]
Wait!
Stephen, wait!
Come on, let's go.
MARIA: My angel.
Your angel?
MARIA: I have to find it.
STEPHEN: Is this it?
Come on.
We gotta go, we have a lot to do today.
[Ticking]
You can come in now.
[♪♪♪♪♪]
Bye.
[♪♪♪♪♪]
[Taking deep breaths]
Let's go.
[Indistinct chatter]
[♪♪♪♪♪]
MARIA: Stephen!
What's wrong?
Why are you stoppin'?
What are these bumps in the ground?
STEPHEN: It's Gene Kelly.
I mean it's a-- it's a star dedicated to Gene Kelly.
And the thing you're running into is a-- is metal emblem
in the middle.
It's uh, it's actually-- it's embossed
with the image of a-- an old-style movie camera.
Oh no, no, no!
Don't touch the ground, it's filthy.
Who's Gene Kelly?
[Sighing]
Gene Kelly.
Singin' in the Rain.
What a great singer.
MARIA: Singin' in the Rain.
Sounds fun.
[Ticking]
[Indistinct chatter]
Sometimes she even asked me where the loan forms are.
I mean you've gotta be kidding me.
It's like I'm doin' my job and hers.
Are you proposing to me?
Oh my God!
Is this real?
Someone dropped it in the bank.
Who just drops a $20,000 ring?
It was in his shirt pocket.
He knocked over Sam's picture,
and then when he went to pick it up,
it just fell out.
[Chuckling]
And you just snatched it up like a little vulture?
I didn't see it at first.
Who is this guy?
Some kind of a doctor.
He came in and just pulled out a $0.5 million
without thinking twice.
Well, I don't blame you.
I would have taken it, too.
I mean what kind of guy carries around a $30,000 ring
in his shirt pocket anyways?
Yeah.
I don't know.
Hey, screw it, alright?
With all those hospital bills, you and Sam,
you need that money more than some careless rich guy.
So how is Sam coping with the treatments?
[Tapping]
[Vehicle honking]
WOMAN 5: Dr. Murphy.
[Taking deep breaths]
You dropped this.
I figured that your wife would really miss it.
I'm sure she will.
Let's go.
[♪♪♪♪♪]
It's peaceful here, isn't it?
It is.
Well, you can keep coming towards my voice.
That's it, few more feet.
This way.
[♪♪♪♪♪]
MARIA: Who are we visiting?
Do you know what a lily is?
MARIA: No, but it sounds pretty.
It's a beautiful flower.
It grows on top of the water.
Brightly-colored and has almond-shaped petals.
And it's connected at the bottom like a raft.
And it sits on top of a broad green leaf.
Like the kind frogs sit on?
Yeah, that's it.
You know, they're considered holy in Egypt.
MARIA: Why?
Symbolizes life, death, and rebirth.
[Takes a deep breath]
At nighttime, the petals they close up
and then in the morning, they open up again for the sun.
Is that your favorite flower?
Yeah, somethin' like that.
[Taking deep breaths]
Alright, let's go.
[Clears throat]
We've got a bus to catch.
You ready?
MARIA: Hmm.
[♪♪♪♪♪]
[Ticking]
Let's get ready to go.
Hey!
Hey!
[♪♪♪♪♪]
[Grunting]
[Taking deep breaths]
[♪♪♪♪♪]
Hey fellas, you got some change, man?
Hey, don't touch the car
I want some change for a beer, maybe a beer.
Uh, just a beer for me on you.
- Why don't you get the out of here, man? - Oh come on, man.
MAN 6: I haven't got change for your beer, man.
out of here. - Man.
I can't get to break out nothing of this
Yo, you all ever heard the story of the wise man
and the blind guy?
- MAN 7: No, man. - MAN 8: No, haven't heard it.
No, here we go.
So there is this blind guy on the curb, beggin'.
[Sniffing]
He has a cup in front of him and a sign that says,
"Blind, please help."
And the whole time he's sittin' there,
nobody really leaves him any change.
People just walk by.
just see that booty over there, man.
Oh-oh.
Come on, bro, I'm talkin' here.
And nobody's listenin', but keep telling'.
MAN 8: Right.
Anyway, the wise man walks up to the blind guy
and he tells him he can help him,
but he doesn't have any change.
What did this wise man look like, bro?
Why the it matter?
A wise man's a wise man.
Anyway, he picks up the sign, turns it around,
and writes somethin' on the back,
and then he walks away without sayin' another word.
The next thing this blind guy knows,
he's getting tons of cash and coins in his cup.
The wise man comes back a few hours later
and the blind guy's like, "Hey, what you write on my sign?"
Wise man's like, "I wrote the same thing,
just in a different way."
So what'd the sign say?
It said, "Today is a beautiful day,
but I can't see."
MAN 9: Bro, I tell you what?
That bum back there, he needs a consultation
from the wise man, because he--
He ain't gettin' no money.
At least, not from me.
You know, what I'm sayin', dog?
You're not gettin' money.
- [Chuckling] - Huh.
You guys wanna hear a true story?
- Yeah. - Yeah, I'm listenin', man.
There was this young couple driving in the rain
with a 2-year-old.
Who was this couple, man?
The next thing they know,
they got rear-ended by an old Mustang.
The guy in the Mustang gets out of his car,
and tells the couple his insurance is at his house,
and they should follow him.
And they believe that ?
They were young, new to the country.
They didn't know any better.
MAN 10: They pull up to Venice and La Cienega
at the red lights.
That's when the guy takes off between the traffic.
The husband panics and tries to follow,
but he gets the T-boned at full speed
by a big pick-up truck.
Damn!
So what happened?
MAN 10: The couple died instantly on impact,
but the kid, he was just sitting there
on a side alone, across from the demolished car,
playing in the rain.
That's what happens when angels fly low.
- [Thud] - [Smashing]
MAN 8:
[Traffic honking and whooshing]
- You up my car - STEPHEN: Wait.
You're dead, man.
MAN 8: Yo cops. Cops.
Easy now.
5-0.
Come on.
[Whooshing]
[Grunting]
STEPHEN: Wait!
[Grunting]
Give me stat.
[Machine beeping]
MAN 11: He's in defib.
He's in cardiac arrest.
STEPHEN: Paddles.
[Machine squeaking]
MAN 11: Set at 5 joules.
- [Thud] - STEPHEN: Come on, kid.
WOMAN 6: Set.
STEPHEN: Uh, go to 10 joules.
WOMAN 6: Set.
STEPHEN: All clear.
[Thud]
STEPHEN: Go to 20 joules.
Come on, kid.
[Thud]
[Traffic whooshing in distance]
Mr. Stephen?
Is that you?
[Traffic honking in distance]
[Ticking]
Alright, one big step.
The bus is right in front of you.
There you go.
[Sniffing]
Smells funny in here.
Are you drinking?
Just pay and board the bus, buddy.
I can smell that vodka a mile away.
Either pay and board or get off my bus.
You can't be drinking,
you're responsible for these people's lives.
I said get off my bus!
Maria, we're getting off the bus.
I want you to wait for me down the sidewalk.
- I'll be right there. - Get off!
You're wasting everyone's time!
This guy is drunk!
That means you should get off the bus right now.
You're crazy!
Get off my bus!
Give me this!
- Get off the bus, man! - Don't you push me!
I'm late for work!
What you gonna do about it?
You make me sick.
[Squeaking]
[Bang]
[Birds chirping and traffic whooshing]
What's this?
What?
STEPHEN: It's your field trip schedule.
Oh.
I thought it was just the permission slip.
Nope, and you guys were to be at the Fashion District at 4:00.
I think we can make it.
[Ticking]
[Whooshing]
STEPHEN: Hey, stay close.
Excuse me, ma'am?
Is this 2001 Alameda Avenue?
Yes, it is.
Uh, you haven't seen a-- a bunch of kids and a teacher
on a-- on a school outing.
It says at 4:00 they're gonna be here
at 2001 Alameda Avenue.
I haven't.
Maria?
Wait.
You ain't supposed to be here.
Yeah, but I'm--
Get goin'.
Maria?
Maria.
Maria?
[Stephen grunting]
Hello, anyone here?
Maria?
MARIA: Are you okay, Stephen?
STEPHEN: Maria, where are you?
MARIA: I'm right here.
- You okay? - STEPHEN: No.
The lights went out, like I uh--
I can't find my way out of here.
MARIA: Just follow my voice!
[Maria humming a tune]
[Footfalls]
[Bang]
STEPHEN: Maria, I can't, I can't.
I can't follow your voice, it's too dark.
MARIA: Take my hand.
[Maria grunting]
[Stephen grunting]
Why'd you run off like that?
I thought I heard some kids.
Well, I don't see your class anywhere.
They probably already left.
So what's that song you were humming back there?
Angie Girl. You never heard of it?
Okay, we gotta get goin'.
Please, don't disappear on me again.
Come on, let's go.
[♪♪♪♪♪]
[Footfalls]
[Stephen taking deep breaths]
[Indistinct chatter]
STEPHEN: Mr. and Mrs. Archuleta.
I'm afraid I have some bad news.
Your son had an aortic aneurysm, which ruptured.
We attempted the repair, but he went into cardiac arrest.
After numerous times trying to resuscitate him,
- we weren't successful. - [Machine beeping]
MRS. ARCHULETA: What did you do with him?
He was just playing outside.
MR. ARCHULETA: What are you talking about?
STEPHEN: I'm so sorry.
I couldn't save your son.
MRS. ARCHULETA: No, no, no, no!
[Bell ringing]
[Whooshing]
[Indistinct chatter]
WOMAN 7: You're back?
I got a B in my math test.
I wanted to show you it.
WOMAN 7: That's wonderful, Jonathan.
I told you, put in a little effort
and the Lord does the rest.
But why aren't you out with the others playing games?
I don't know.
I know it's hard being new,
but you're not gonna make any friends sitting in here.
Okay.
I tell you what?
You go out and play
and I'll help you with your schoolwork tomorrow.
What do you say?
- Okay. - Okay.
JONATHAN: Bye.
Sister Monica.
[Takes a deep breath]
Come on in.
Wait right here, I'll be right back.
[♪♪♪♪♪]
I figured kids could use it.
You worked hard for this.
And it means nothing.
Saving a life means a lot.
And what if you can't save 'em?
[Chuckles]
Not everyone can be saved, my child.
But you still have to have faith.
Faith.
In what?
In God?
I did God's work!
That doesn't mean that you can--
Even after all the people I saved,
the lives I've given back.
Stephen.
Don't let the darkness cloud your soul.
That's not what you learned here.
I just came to say goodbye.
[Exhales]
Stephen.
Don't forget you still have family here.
[♪♪♪♪♪]
Come on, let's go.
[♪♪♪♪♪]
[Ticking]
Can you dance?
We're here.
Can I have two tickets for The Blacksmith, please?
The show has already started.
Doesn't matter.
Two tickets?
STEPHEN: Yeah, one adult, one child.
That'll be 22.50.
Come on, ready, let's go.
[Projector whirring]
[♪♪♪♪♪]
[Chuckling]
I want you to imagine a big tree in front of a cute little town.
Now, there's some writing.
It says, "Under a spreading chestnut tree,
the village smithy stands."
Now, we go in on a man
and he's standing underneath a palm tree.
It's Buster Keaton.
What's he look like?
Well, he's handsome.
A little scrawny.
Okay, now, there's some more writing
and it says, "His brawny arms are as strong as iron bands."
And now, he's-- he's flexing his arm
and he's showing us his muscle
that's getting bigger and bigger.
It's gigantic.
Oh, now, he's pulling a pin out of his tie and, "Pop".
He pops his muscle.
[Laughing]
Like a balloon.
[Laughing]
There goes his muscle, like that.
Alright, now, he's been clowning around
and his boss--
He works for a blacksmith, and his boss yells at him,
and says, "Bring me the sledgehammer."
So Buster Keaton goes
and gets a sledgehammer for his boss.
Now, what they both don't see is right above them.
There's a giant horseshoe which is a magnet.
So when Buster Keaton goes to hand the uh, sledgehammer
to his boss, it gets sucked up by the magnet.
[Laughing]
And neither one of them know where it went.
So the boss thinks
that Buster Keaton is makin' fun with him.
So he gets very angry.
So he yells at him, "I told you, get me a sledgehammer."
Buster Keaton's like, I brought it right out to you."
- [Chuckling] - So he's-- the boss is, "Go,
get me another sledgehammer then."
So Buster Keaton goes back, gets another sledgehammer,
hands it to boss, and again, the magnet sucks it right up.
[Chuckling]
And neither one of 'em see it, too.
[Chuckling]
Now, the boss is really angry.
And he gives Buster Keaton a really hard shove.
Now, that catches the attention of the sheriff
across the street.
So the sheriff runs over.
And the sheriff goes and shows him his badge
on his lapel.
But guess what?
The badge is made out of metal, too.
So what do you think happens?
The magnet sucks it right off his lapel.
[Laughing]
So now, the sheriff doesn't have a badge.
Everyone thinks he's crazy.
"You're not a sheriff, you're not wearing your badge."
[♪♪♪♪♪]
[Maria laughing]
ANNOUNCER: Dr. Murphy, call on line 3.

STEPHEN: This is Dr. Murphy.
What?
Wait, wait, wait.
Wait a minute.
What?
[Indistinct chatter]
[Humming]
So you have homework?
Yeah.
What kinda homework do you have?
Oh, the regular stuff.
History, English, Braille.
And also math.
And what's your favorite?
Not math.
[Chuckling]
STEPHEN: Really, why not?
Well, it wasn't so bad when it was just addition
and subtraction,
but it gets harder like times and divide.
Well, it gets a little tricky for me to keep track
of all the numbers.
You know, I can't just write stuff down the way you do.
You know, how you asked me about what the shape
of the heart was?
Yeah.
The best way to think of it is that it's two oval sections,
and the right side is a smaller oval,
and the left side is a tad bigger.
And-- and that's why people uh, put their hand
on the left side of their chest
to feel their heartbeat,
but actually the heart is situated right in the middle
- of the chest. - Hmm.
But the amazing thing is is how it all works.
Blood comes into the right side, doesn't have any oxygen.
So the right side pumps it into the lungs
where it picks up oxygen,
and it goes out to the left full of oxygen,
and it goes all through your body,
and that's how the body works.
Pretty-- pretty cool, huh?
Yeah, that's pretty neat.
Yeah.
I thought you'd like that.
You know what, though?
That really wasn't what I was asking.
What do you mean?
MARIA: I think you know.
Well, you asked me what the shape of the heart was
and-- and I told you.
Well, when I asked what was the shape of your heart,
I meant what was the shape of your heart.
