- We've heard many stories of UFOs showing up

repeatedly to individuals.

- [Tony] Do aliens have access to advanced technology?

- [Erica] People have said

they've experienced alien abductions

and they might see a blue beam of light.

- [Chad] What the [bleep] was that?

- It sort of conjures up ideas of this galactic zoo model

that we're being watched by these otherworldly beings.

- [Observer] One went up and one's coming down.

Oh, now something's coming outta the other one. Holy [bleep].

- This has eluded everybody.

The fact that they moved so intentionally across the sky,

you have to ask yourself, is there intelligent life

behind what we're seeing?

- [Observer] That is close to us, that is real close to us.

- We've never seen anything like this before.

our team of top experts will investigate UFO technology

unlike anything we've ever seen.

- It traveled almost like it was a train

coming across the room.

of superior alien technology.

that we do not understand.

Good evening and welcome to "The Proof Is Out There."

Since Voyager one launched in 1977,

humans have been probing space

looking for signs of intelligent life.

There's been no confirmation yet that an alien species

is doing the same, looking for us,

but what if they've been sending

probes our way this whole time?

We've just been misreading the messages.

It's a clear evening in Gainesville, Florida

and motorist Chad Zetrower is driving along Newberry road

when his dash cam captures something

that makes him pump the brakes.

It's not on the road, it's in the sky.

A blue orb shoots overhead.

- [Chad] What the [bleep] was that?

[electronic glitch]

- [Tony] Let's slow that down.

Whatever fell from the sky appears to flash or explode,

but no pieces or impact crater are discovered.

When the video goes viral,

it has many thinking UFO.

One scientific explanation is that what Chad filmed

was simply a meteor, but there's a whole new theory

gaining traction that some rocks from space are UFOs.

- I can't really say it's not of alien origin

because I really never get a good enough look at it.

- [Tony] In October of 2017, observers spotted an object

racing around the sun, that didn't have a tail like a comet

and was on such a strange trajectory,

they realized it had to be from another solar system.

They named it Oumuamua or scout in Hawaiian.

A Harvard astronomer recently suggested

that it could be some form of alien technology

and physicist Dr. Hakeem Oluseyi wonders

could there be others like it?

- Oumuamua brings up the idea of alien probes

coming into our solar system.

If we look at rocky surfaces in our solar system,

they're covered in craters and up till now

we've assumed that those craters

were due to solar system bodies,

but now perhaps maybe some of the craters you see

when you look up at the moon were created

from an object outside our solar system.

We don't know.

- Oumuamua was odd,

not only because of its interstellar origin,

but because of its unusually long, slender shape and size,

was what Chad captured on dash cam

something equally anomalous?

For that, we turn to Mars Mission Planner, Jonathon Hill.

[eerie music] [animation chimes]

Hill begins by considering whether the light

could be caused by a spacecraft or satellite,

but he says this thing is moving far too quickly for that.

- When satellites pass by in the night sky,

they usually take very arcing paths

and they usually move very slowly.

That's not consistent with a satellite by any means.

- [Tony] Could it be the reentry of space junk

into our atmosphere?

Hill says the best clue is the color of the object.

Each metal or compound produces a unique color

when it burns.

- When anything on earth explodes,

you almost always get a yellow flame,

but this object has a very distinct

bright white-blue color to it, which tells us that

whatever is burning is a very different compound

than what we usually see in our everyday lives.

- [Tony] Instead says hill,

that blue is a strong indicator

that the object is likely made of magnesium

and definitely not manmade.

So could it be an alien probe after all?

- I think we have to keep our minds open to the possibility

that one day we may encounter artifacts

from an extraterrestrial civilization.

That cannot be ruled out.

- So where do we land with this one?

Hill's analysis points to a meteor made of magnesium,

but no one ever found an impact crater

or any part of Chad's meteor.

So sure, it could have been an alien probe.

That part of the story remains unresolved.

To the naked eye, the night sky is decorated

with an array of shiny stars.

In fact, you can see an average of 10,000

just by looking up on a clear night,

but if you use a pair of night vision binoculars

that can shoot video, you might see something else.

May 26th, 2021, it's a crisp spring evening

in Aurora, Colorado.

Jason Serosi and Fernando Medina are stargazing

in Jason's backyard when suddenly they both see this.

A long, cylindrical object appears in the night sky,

but take a closer look, it also seems to grow in length.

Fernando is stunned by what he's seeing

and begins filming with his night vision binoculars.

There's no question

both he and Jason are capturing the exact same phenomenon.

They keep aiming skyward for almost two minutes,

but then the object fades away.

- 99% of the time we see satellites,

but this one was different because it was a cigar

and usually when you see a satellite

it will just keep going until it fades away.

This one just vanished.

- [Tony] What we do know is that tubular and cigar-shaped UFOs

are not a new phenomenon.

In 1995, only 400 miles away,

airline pilots reported a cigar-shaped UFO

over Tucumcari, New Mexico.

- [Pilot] Out to our three o'clock

there's a [indistinct] out there.

Is that what it is?

- [Tony] But is there any significance

to the tubular shape?

- There's no real consensus among UFOlogists

as to why this tube or cigar shape

would be ideal for a vehicle, but some believe

it's because UFOs are meant to travel

in different environments.

Some posit that these shapes are ideal

to go from the air into the water

and back into the air again.

[electronic shimmer]

- It's not just cigars hovering over the Centennial State.

In December, 2019 and January, 2020,

rural Colorado was hit with a barrage of accounts

of unidentified flying objects flying together.

Even though nothing conclusive was identified,

the media dubbed the event the Colorado Drone Swarm Mystery.

So what's going on?

Has Colorado become the new ground zero for UFOs?

We asked our experts to investigate.

We begin our analysis

with astrophotographer Andrew McCarthy.

Could the streak itself be a clue?

A meteor can hit Earth's atmosphere

at speeds between 25,000 and 160,000 miles per hour.

Is that what we're seeing?

- Meteors are breaking apart as they enter the atmosphere.

They put off flashes of light,

so I think we can safely rule out a meteor.

- [Tony] However, McCarthy does have a different theory.

- What this looks like to me is a constellation

of satellites that has not yet fully deployed.

- [Tony] Starlink is a company founded by Elon Musk using

satellites to bring internet access around the world.

Up to 60 are sent into orbit at a time.

When they deploy, the satellites appear to be

close together in a straight line.

Then it takes approximately four months for each satellite

to reach its final position.

- They're all pretty compacted together,

'cause they have to fit in that rocket.

So what we could be looking at here

is simply that satellite constellation

that hasn't yet fully deployed.

- [Tony] But aviation expert Tim McMillan disagrees.

- [Tim] We can see the object is going in front of clouds

and satellites are in the upper atmosphere above the clouds.

So that wouldn't make sense if it was a satellite.

- [Tony] However, McMillan does have

a theory of his own.

- We have a lot of different private companies

that are launching satellites now all the time.

We have the military, there are lots of things

that aren't always disclosed

and we could have a secret satellite launch,

that type of thing.

- [Tony] McMillan says the visual clue

is what eventually happens to the cigar-shaped object

after a couple of minutes.

- In the latter sections of the video,

we're definitely seeing the lower flickering.

It really looks like the burn off from a rocket booster

and as it disappears, it's tapering out.

- Our verdict, we're going to call this a genuine UFO,

simply because we can't identify it conclusively.

While we think McMillan makes some really good points,

our research shows the most likely location

for a rocket launch is Vandenberg Air Force Base

over 1,000 miles away in California

and while with clear conditions,

portions of a launch can sometimes be seen

from a distance of two or 300 miles.

Colorado seems a little out of reach.

Now admittedly there are amateur rocket clubs in Colorado,

but until we get more definitive evidence,

we see too many other possibilities out there.

- n invasion,

thanks to the Hollywood blockbuster by the same name.

Recently, one of our very own viewers says

he saw more than just fireworks on July 4th

and he sent us a video that has us asking,

are UFOs somehow attracted

to colorful aerial explosions like we are?

Or are aliens using advanced technology

to hide and spy on us?

Chatsworth, California, July 4th, 2018.

John Lopez is celebrating with his family.

- Every year we go out in our backyard,

'cause we're able to see the fireworks.

- But instead of pyrotechnics,

they see something far more startling.

These lights.

- [John] Kind of look like fireballs

just floating around in the sky

and then like different ones

kind of appeared out of nowhere.

- [Tony] Look closer, the lights swoop,

flicker on and off and seem to hover

for more than 30 minutes.

And what makes it even stranger?

This is the second 4th of July in a row

that John has seen them.

- [Daughter] Mom, the UFOs are back.

I swear to God, I swear. - [John] They're back.

That's a trip. Damn.

So everyone was kind of shocked to see that.

- [Tony] It left the Lopez family wondering

what had they seen and why does it recur on the fourth?

Journalist and author Alexis Brooks

is one of the leading authorities on UFO encounters.

- We've heard many stories of UFOs showing up

repeatedly to individuals, but the fact that

it was at the same time and in the same place,

I haven't heard too often.

You wonder if the fireworks display may have actually

attracted these anomalous objects to the scene.

- [Tony] Brooks wonders why the UFOs

appear specifically on the Fourth.

- Are they attracted to the light in the sky

that the fireworks portray?

Do they want to hide themselves in the midst of fireworks?

- [Tony] Professor of anthropology

Michael Masters notes there's a spike in UFO sightings

on the Fourth and brings up a theory

that they could be trying to figure out

exactly what we are doing

and maybe using some kind of technology

that allows the orbs to split and burst

similar to our fireworks.

- It sort of conjures up ideas of this galactic zoo model

that were being watched by these otherworldly beings

fascinated by this strange ritual of independence,

where we explode these bombs in the air.

- But Independence Day has been around for 200 years.

Why are the UFOs only showing up to watch now?

One theory is that we've only recently

become interesting as a species,

now that we're building space stations and supercomputers.

Let's see what our experts think of John's video.

- And we did detect several consistent signatures

across the video recordings, both made using similar

make and model devices, so there is no evidence

that we detected that these files were manipulated.

- [Tony] So the videos are legit,

but could they be picking up your typical

4th of July light show?

- I don't detect similarities with

what I would expect to see from fireworks,

because fireworks are a momentary elapse of light

in the sky.

They explode and then they vanish.

There's just simply no evidence of that in these recordings.

- [Tony] Astronomer and video effects designer

Marc D'Antonio looks for other explanations

like planes or sky lanterns.

- Aircraft have to have Federal Aviation Administration

mandated lighting.

We don't see that here, so I'm ruling out an aircraft.

The sky lantern is slow and moves on the prevailing winds

in the sky.

These objects are not doing that.

They're moving any which way they want

and so that rules out sky lanterns.

- [Tony] Our aviation expert Tim McMillan

considers if the objects could be flares.

- If there are flares fired from a aircraft,

you would see them spread out.

I would say flares would be pretty unlikely.

- [Tony] And finally, there's always the possibility

of drones.

- Could someone be operating a drone swarm?

Maybe, drones operate off of battery power

and so if you're operating a very high-powered,

high-illumination light, that's less time that your drone

is gonna be able to stay in the air.

[eerie music] [animation chimes]

- Our experts can only say these lights might be drones,

but they can't be certain.

So for now, our verdict, these are genuine UFOs.

So maybe we are truly living in the land of the free

or we could just be part of a galactic zoo

entertaining the ETs.

As we just saw, there is something about fireworks

that attract UFOs, check this out.

It's Independence Day in Alamance, North Carolina

and a local man is enjoying a barbecue with his family.

Fireworks are going off intermittently,

so he's been looking at the sky all evening,

when he suddenly sees something even more spectacular.

[eerie music]

- [Observer] It's moving. It's moving slow.

- [Tony] It's a classic orb-shaped UFO,

the kind we've seen in several videos, some real, some fake

and what makes this footage extra special

is that it goes on for more than eight minutes.

- [Observer] God, I wish I had some binoculars.

- [Tony] Now look at what happens here,

at the six-and-a- half-minute mark.

- [Observer] Oh wow. - [Observer 2] Look at that.

- [Observer] Something's coming off of it.

Two things are coming off of it.

- [Observer 3] Dear God, where is it at?

- [Observer] One went up and one's coming down.

- [Observer 3] What is it?

- [Observer] Holy crap. Look at this.

- [Tony] The orb seems to bifurcate

and seconds later it splits again.

- [Observer] Oh, now something's coming

outta the other one, holy [bleep].

Third one's coming out. - [Observer 3] Oh my gosh.

There's three different, oh my God, that's crazy.

- [Tony] Like other orbs seen around the world,

this one had no wings or obvious means of propulsion.

It's hard to judge its speed, but others have been clogged

by commercial pilots at over 500 miles per hour.

- [Observer] And it's pulsating too man, that is nuts.

- [Tony] Journalist Alexis Brooks,

who writes and speaks about UFOs says the duration

of this sighting is important.

- Some individuals that have long-contact encounters,

that is exceeding five minutes or more

may actually be having a literal contact encounter

without them being consciously aware of it.

Could it be that non-human intelligence

or the occupants of the craft were actually making contact

with the witness and vice versa?

- [Observer] Here, we got some action going on here boys.

[eerie music] [animation chimes]

- The witness said he later tried to find

some earthly explanation for the incident,

even checking with a nearby military base,

but to this day he says he's gotten no answers.

Our experts may be able to change that.

[eerie music] [animation chimes]

Our video analyst, Marc D'Antonio

begins by looking at the surrounding factors

involved in this event.

- I stepped through it frame by frame

to try to isolate the components and equate them

with something that we might already know.

It's actually pretty high altitude.

- [Tony] For starters, D'Antonio's positive

it couldn't be a bird.

- Birds don't have that kind of reflectivity to them.

Even geese at high altitude,

you can still detect that they're birds.

- [Tony] He's just as sure it's not a plane or a drone.

- Planes and drones, they have to follow

Federal Aviation Administration rules for lighting

and this object had none of that.

- [Tony] Nor could it be a natural phenomenon

like a meteor, it just hangs in the sky too long.

- [Marc] Meteors are momentary objects.

They go through the sky [imitates swooshing]

and then they're gone.

- [Tony] So what was it?

The secret could be in that strange splitting.

- Here you can see in this image,

you can see how it's a teardrop shape

and these objects are falling away

and the object that's way up there

has changed brightness tremendously.

Now my thinking, takes me down the path of weather balloon.

- [Tony] It certainly wouldn't be the first time

a weather balloon was mistaken for a UFO.

In fact, the government initially claimed

it was a weather balloon that caused the Roswell incident,

but that still doesn't explain

how this thing could split apart

and move off in different directions.

- I would guess that this is a weather balloon

where whatever was attached to it broke off

and when something like this happens

and the resistance of the air will tend to streamline it

and make it more into a teardrop shape

and that shape is what I think we're seeing here.

- [Tony] That theory sounds plausible,

but then to our surprise, atmospheric scientist,

Deanna Hence shoots it out of the sky.

- So I do think it's really unlikely

that this is any kind of, you know, weather instrument.

They come down on a little parachute

and they wouldn't emit light this brightly like this,

but it doesn't seem to be meteorologically related.

- [Observer] You see it, Jean? You see a UFO?

[eerie music] [animation chimes]

- So America, is it proof or not?

It doesn't appear to be a bird or a plane.

Could it be a weather balloon? Maybe.

But a local weather service later told the witness

there were none in the area.

Until we get more solid information,

we're gonna call this a genuine UFO.

keeps a close eye on asteroids due to the threat

of one crashing into Earth and ending life as we know it,

but while scientists around the globe were checking out

one of these huge flying rocks,

they may have made another startling discovery.

It's May, 2000 in outer space,

NASA's near-Earth asteroid rendezvous spacecraft

known as NEAR Shoemaker is on patrol when it trains its gaze

on the massive asteroid known as Eros,

approximately 221 million miles from Earth.

In the process of its surveillance,

it captures some startling images.

If you look closely at the satellite photo,

there appears to be a strange object

that's lit up at the center of a crater.

Compared to its surroundings,

the object has a distinct square and angular appearance,

which seems to indicate it's not a natural feature

of Eros' surface.

NASA catalogs it as a large rectangular boulder,

but George Haas of the Cydonia Institute,

which advocates theories

of ancient Martian civilizations

doubts it's a shape that would ever occur

like this naturally.

- Now if anybody's ever seen pictures of these asteroids,

they're very highly textured organic shapes,

but then there's this cubic, metallic,

flat, smooth feature on here, which is totally outta place.

This was a structure that's sitting on this asteroid

and it shouldn't be there.

- [Tony] Haas says this photo has gotten

an incredible amount of attention

and raises questions about whether this could be evidence

of an extraterrestrial colony.

- Some believe that this structure on this asteroid

is the remnants of an ancient mining operation

and a lot of these asteroids are full of copper.

Copper is very scarce now.

So if we were to find an asteroid full of that

it would be well worth the trip

to set up a mining operation.

- [Tony] Before you write that off as absurd,

bear in mind that today right here on Earth,

there are companies that's developing robotic

and satellite platforms to enable the exploration

and extraction of off-world resources,

including from asteroids, yet Haas suggests

that aliens could also be up to something far more sinister.

- The Eros asteroid is located in and around

the asteroid belt, which is a perfect location

if someone was to place a spy station.

It's just far enough from Earth not to be detected,

and it's close enough to come in

and leave their satellites in this area

for monitoring what's going on on Earth.

- Eros was the first near- Earth asteroid discovered.

It's about 10 miles across,

five times bigger than the asteroid

that wiped out the dinosaurs.

Based on the size of Eros, NASA estimates the mysterious

rectangular structure to be about 148 feet across.

That's a pretty big mystery.

Let's see if our experts can help solve it.

First, astrophotographer Andrew McCarthy

takes a look to see if this could be an issue

with the way the camera captured this part of the asteroid.

- I used a suite of tools in my photography workshop

to analyze the photo for any kind of optical anomalies

that may have shown up due to pixels inside that sensor

that were not behaving properly.

My conclusion is that, what we're seeing in these photos

is entirely authentic.

- [Tony] So since McCarthy says the image is accurate,

could this really be an alien structure?

Astronomer and visual effects analyst,

Marc D'Antonio is not convinced.

- There's bright spots on this asteroid

for a number of reasons, that they could be water ice spots

or just brighter soil and when you take a photograph

that looks normal for your eyes, for the camera,

you overexpose really, really bright things like this.

- [Tony] NASA geologist, Dr. Bob Anderson explains.

- When you first look at it, you go,

wow, that does look kind of strange, it's out of place,

but if you blow this image up,

you would see that there's multiple craters around here.

Asteroids are very violent.

These asteroid bodies are floating in that area

and they've hit [asteroids explodes]

and so you get these boulders thrown out of 'em.

Now because of the lighting angle here,

it looks like as if it's a structure,

when it's fact, it's just sitting on the surface there.

- [Tony] So Anderson says the boulder

is actually more rounded than it appears.

The way the sun is hitting it is playing tricks

with the shadows and creating this optical illusion

that the rock is a rectangle.

[eerie music] [animation chimes]

Our verdict, this is most likely

a naturally occurring boulder

that just appears to be more rectangular than it actually is,

due to the angle and the source of light.

It only looks lit up,

because it's brighter than the rest of the rock.

Still, NASA hasn't responded to inquiries about this image.

So there's a chance there's still more to it

than meets the eye.

for the story of an unexplained phenomenon,

which occurred, in of all places, a suburban kitchen.

March, 2017, Erica Garner is home alone in her house

just outside Houston.

Her husband has left for a business trip.

- I was outside, I was playing with my two dogs

and I noticed something very strange on my rooftop.

There was black birds going in a circle.

I had never seen that before.

- [Tony] This feels like some sort of omen

as Erica goes back inside.

She's giving water to her dogs, when suddenly.

[electricity sparks] - [Erica] Oh!

- [Tony] Let's freeze on that,

'cause if you blink, you'll miss it.

A strange blue light streaking through the room,

leaving Erica stunned and momentarily at a loss for words.

It was almost like plasma.

Everything in the room turned completely white,

almost like an explosion and my eyes started burning.

- [Tony] Even stranger, the flash only lasts a second,

though Erica says, it felt much longer.

- What was that?

It traveled almost like it was a train

coming across the room, slowly coming in for a stop

and this happened for all about seven seconds.

- [Tony] And that night things get downright funky.

- I'd had trouble sleeping.

I was having some strange dreams

and it definitely impacted me.

- [Tony] Erica's dreams of pink and purple galaxies

make her feel like she's been transported through time

and she wonders if the blue flash

could have been an extraterrestrial force.

- Into my research, trying to figure out

what possibly a blue beam of light could come from,

people have said they've experienced alien abductions

and they might see a blue beam of light.

- [Tony] One similar case happened in 1975,

an Arizona logger named Travis Walton

disappeared after walking toward

an unidentified beam of light in the forest.

He recalled being transported to a strange place

surrounded by alien beings and when he made it home,

he was shocked to learn he'd been gone for five days.

- There are definitely things in this world

that we do not understand.

[eerie music]

- So what is Erica's blue flash?

Well, we know it's not her security camera malfunctioning,

because we can hear her reacting in real time.

[electricity sparks]

- So the first thing we did was a proper analysis

of the footage.

[eerie music] [animation chimes]

Photography expert Andrew McCarthy

starts by examining the footage frame by frame.

- So right after this, the camera lost several frames.

You see a distinct jump, her hair moves, the dogs move.

It's just a significant jump. She said it was seven seconds.

I'm not sure if it was seven seconds,

but it was a long time, long enough

that they significantly shifted positions.

- [Tony] But McCarthy says there's something else

that's even stranger.

- What didn't make sense to me

is nothing here is casting a shadow.

It seems like the lights were supposed to be coming

behind the camera to cause this,

but it would see some kind of shadow cast

on the legs of these chairs, you know, on the dogs,

but you don't see any of that.

It's just bright and it's uniformly bright.

- Forensic investigator Chase Kloetzke is curious

if the flash could be something as simple

as a burnt out light bulb.

So she asks the Garners to run a test.

- Erica and her husband put this light bulb in

and they tapped it,

and if you tap it long enough, it burned out.

Once you compare, when the light bulb blows out

and that reaction and you put it next to the blue flash,

they're not even close.

- [Tony] Okay, so if it wasn't a blown bulb,

was it possibly a strike of lightning from outside?

[thunder crackling]

Atmospheric scientist Deanna Hence

reviews the local weather radar from that day.

- What you're seeing is that a round

of fairly intense thunderstorms

went through the Houston area,

but it was about one o'clock in the morning,

whereas this video was taken at 11:30 in the morning.

That really leaves me to think

that lightning is not responsible for that flash.

- [Tony] Some experts believe wormholes in the universe

create paths to move backwards in time

and through parallel universes.

Perhaps the blue flash was one such path.

- I stand more on the side of this being a time glitch.

It's an error in our time space fabric.

[eerie music] [animation chimes]

- So what is it?

The strange jump in the footage does point

to some kind of time glitch,

but whether it's caused by an alien force, some wormhole

or something else is unclear.

So for now, I'm prepared to call this

a genuine unexplained phenomenon.

So for now, I'm prepared to call this

from one of our contributors,

astrophotographer Andrew McCarthy.

He couldn't figure out what he saw,

so he sent the curious clip to us

and we have never seen anything like it.

Central California, spring 2021, Andrew was in his backyard

taking pictures of the sun to film a rare event,

a solar flare.

- However, I captured something

that was completely different and equally surprising.

- [Tony] It was this, seven spherical objects

fly over the surface of the sun.

They seemed to be moving in unison,

almost flying in formation.

Let's slow it down and play it again.

To McCarthy's professional eye,

this can't be a quirk of the camera.

- Sometimes when capturing images,

specks of dust will fly across the camera,

but it's pretty clear that's not what we're looking at here.

Whatever these objects are, they're clearly in a formation

and they're not behaving

the way dust usually does on camera.

- [Tony] So on this show we have to ask,

could Andrew have captured a fleet of very large UFOs

flying in formation crossing near the sun

or something smaller and explainable to his camera?

- We could be looking at an example

of superior alien technology

or we could be looking at an example

of something terrestrial that I simply don't understand.

- [Tony] In fact, McCarthy has previously postulated

that the sun would make a good refueling station

for an alien craft.

- The sun's corona is millions of degrees.

It's actually the hottest part of the sun.

So it would be a smart place for an alien spacecraft

to refuel its ship because of the abundance of energy.

- [Tony] Author Alexis Brooks brings up another theory.

Could they be living beings inhabiting the sun itself?

- Could these be craft or beings,

sentient beings, in fact,

that are coming from inside of the sun?

When you think of the historical record,

particularly our religious literature that talks of the sun

as a god, the emerald tablets of Thoth

all talk about the sun being sentient, being alive.

- [Tony] It wasn't just the ancients,

in 1795 prominent astronomer William Herschel,

who had discovered Uranus, theorized that the sun

was inhabited by beings who have adapted

to its extreme conditions.

So life on the sun? Sounds crazy, right?

But here on earth we're constantly finding life

in the most extreme places.

Microbes around underwater geothermal vents

thrive at temperatures of over 200 degrees Fahrenheit

and some worms flourish in the Arctic ice,

but before we cozy up to the theory of solar organisms,

let's see if our experts have any other bright ideas.

NASA's Bob Anderson says lens flares

or other camera distortions

can appear to be objects near the sun,

but he doesn't think that's the case in Andrew's video,

because of how solid the objects appear

and how they move in straight lines across the frame.

- I do not believe that they're part of hot pixels

or camera's distortions or angles or anything like that.

I believe that these objects are real.

- [Tony] So could we be looking at

real Earth satellites in orbit?

- When I first captured this,

I thought I may be one of the first astronomers

to capture the Starlink satellites

in formation crossing the face of the sun.

- [Tony] Starlink is a vast array of satellites

being launched to bring internet access

to remote regions of the Earth.

They're released in a cluster,

before spreading out around the globe.

- However, I was able to quickly rule that out

as I was able to determine the Starlink satellites

that had been launched that week were actually

on the opposite side of Earth at the time.

- [Tony] So could it be an armada of spacecraft

flying in formation?

- And he's looking at the sun

and that's 93 million miles away

and those objects are very large compared to the sun.

So if they were spacecrafts,

they would be the size of the planet Venus

flying across there.

- [Tony] Because of that issue

of perspective and proportion,

Bob Anderson thinks we could be looking at something

flying at a much lower altitude.

- What I believe you're looking at here are birds.

This is a migratory set of birds.

You got one bird leading

and you got a very interesting V formation.

You'll see that they're wiggling, they're moving

and it's almost as if the birds are flapping their wings

as they're going across the face of the sun.

- Because of the V shape

and because Andrew shot the video in April,

our verdict is we're probably looking at

migratory geese or swans.

Are we any closer to knowing how these

otherworldly marvels of technology came to be?

From cigar-shaped UFOs to orbs splitting in the sky,

what kind of alien civilization engineered this phenomenon?
