JON: When they set their sights on Julia and Olivia

in a surprise double U-Turn.

GURLEEN: We have decided to U-Turn Julia and Olivia.

OLIVIA: Let's claw it out.

JOHN: This race has taken a turn.

KEVIN: If Julia and Olivia are eliminated,

are we gonna feel bad? No!

TYSON: Just a couple of guys in their bucket.

JON: Michael and Tyson took aim for their second win.

-You're team number one. -Yeah!

[Laughing]

JON: Double Trouble, Lauren and Nicole,

scored an Express Pass.

LAUREN: Maybe utilize this to get a win.

JON: But couldn't shake their second place curse.

LAUREN: As expected at this point.

KEVIN: These people wanted us out of here.

We're not going anywhere.

JON: And while the U-Turned teams

scraped the bottom of the barrel to survive...

CONNOR: This is brutal.

JON: It was John and Connor who got hung out to dry.

JON: I am sorry to tell you this,

but you have been eliminated from the race.

JOHN: It has been the best experience of our lives.

MATT: [Chuckling]

SAM: Kevin and Gurleen are always scheming.

GURLEEN: It was a calculated decision to U-Turn

Julia and Olivia.

KEVIN: We knew we could smoke Julia and Olivia.

Every team who has a brain knows we made a great move.

JULIA: Kevin and Gurleen wanted to put us out,

so they're not going to be happy to still see us here.

And now we're halfway through the race and,

when you're at the halfway point of a marathon,

you are feeling your best.

So, we know we can go from the back

all the way to the front.

OLIVIA: Hello!

KEVIN: Oh, Julia and Olivia just showed up.

You want to go talk to our best friends?

GURLEEN: No, I'm hungry.

MICHAEL: Way to survive. GURLEEN: Hi, guys.

KEVIN: Congrats on surviving, you guys.

We're all just putting on our little fake smiles and

JON: All teams are now traveling over

1000 kilometres on the same flight from Penticton, BC

to Regina, Saskatchewan.

When they touch down, they'll make their way to

Avena Foods, where they'll find their next clue.

Feeling amazing.

TYSON: We won the last two legs.

We do have an Express Pass.

MICHAEL: So can't complain. [Laughing]

MICHAEL: We're in Regina, Saskatchewan,

Treaty 4 Territory.

AMARI: Prairies, baby.

MICHAEL: Home court advantage, let's go.

We love being top of the pack.

We dealt with some communication problems

at the beginning, but now going into leg five,

we've become teammates.

Vibrating at a higher frequency today.

We're gonna kill it.

NICOLE: Is this the right way?

NICOLE: So this is faster? DRIVER: Yeah.

MICHAEL: Oh, they're gonna take a different way.

AMARI: Might have missed it.

LAUREN: Fingers crossed.

We've been finishing second every single leg.

We're feeling hungry and ready to

take home the win this leg.

NICOLE: Right there! A-ha, suckers!

LAUREN: Route info.

"It's time for a Switchback."

JON: The Switchback is a throwback to a classic

challenge from The Amazing Race Canada archives.

In Season One, we saw Hal and Joanne.

-Come on, big boy. -I can't do it alone.

JON: And Brett and Holly searching through lentils

for hours...

under the hot, prairie sun.

[Thud & crying]

HOLLY: I can't dig in this bin anymore.

BRETT: We'll take a penalty.

We're gonna forfeit the challenge.

-Good luck. -Thanks.

JON: And now, in our first Switchback ever,

teams will complete the same challenge, but this time,

we're losing the lentils and going gluten-free...

with oats.

Each team will choose one of these grain hoppers

filled with 15 metric tons of oats.

They will need to search both sides of the trailer

to find this waffle

to secure their breakfast reservation.

LAUREN: Alright, where do we climb up, here?

NICOLE: Yeah. LAUREN: Go up?

NICOLE: Yeah, go in.

Oh my god. So much oats in here.

Searching for a needle in a haystack.

TYSON: All these grains together are super heavy.

It's definitely a killer workout in the forearms.

MICHAEL: Let's go from right to left.

BRAD: Argh! It is a workout.

No wonder Prairie boys are good hockey players.

SAM: I think this is all just luck.

It's cold, and I can't really feel much.

It's gonna take a long time. My knees are shot.

After the last leg, my knees are feeling a little bit sore.

and this is gonna be a tough one.

COLIN: We don't have any allergies, which is good.

This is gonna take forever. What should we do?

KEVIN: No, we can't.

We just dug for over two hours in those oats.

I think we're gonna persevere.

There's a lot of race ahead of us,

but that was incredibly difficult.

JON: They say the most important meal of the day

is breakfast.

And teams are about to discover that the only

two items on the menu are pig brains

and bison testicles.

Mm. Kinda nutty. [Chuckles]

Breakfast will be served in the order

they finished the previous challenge.

And teams will have the choice to devour

one entire plate of local delicacies...

a pile of pig brains...

or juicy bison testicles.

One lucky team will win the Assist by Desjardins,

giving them a little extra help in completing this challenge.

MICHAEL: Ooh! Fancy.

SERVER: Good morning, racers.

For breakfast today, we have...

MICHAEL: Bra.

MICHAEL: We thought for sure

we're gonna be eating a plate of waffles.

AMARI: Yup.

MICHAEL: Just swallow it and drink water.

MICHAEL: There's a trick where if you don't breathe

through your nose, you can't taste,

so if you take away- -[Retching]

[Laughing]

JON: Teams must make their way to Mosaic Stadium,

the home of the Saskatchewan Roughriders.

In this Road Block, one racer

will need to memorize 12 different football plays.

When ready, they'll take to the field and join the team

to execute one of 12 plays

called by the coach.

COACH: Trips left X shallow cross all go on 1.

PLAYER: 27!

JON: Once they successfully run the correct play

and score a touchdown...

[Cheering]

They'll receive their next clue.

AMARI: I guess I do. MICHAEL: Okay.

6-8. That might be the play, play 68.

Brains is good. I got smarter.

AMARI: I got dumber.

SAM: Hello.

LAUREN: We love fine dining. What could go wrong?

SERVER: Good morning. For breakfast today,

we have slow poached pig brain and bull testicles.

SAM: Wait, what?

No. There's no way I'm doing this.

Oh my god, I'm gonna throw up.

SAM: We only need to eat one.

and then try and memorize as best you can.

AMARI: I've never seen a football play drawn up before.

There's 12 plays I have to remember.

COACH: It's okay. Just, just slow down.

AMARI: What's difficult about this challenge is

how long the play call names are,

but the coach is helping me break it down a little bit.

AMARI: X, X is...

ah inside.

COACH: Correct.

AMARI: I think I kind of want to give it a go.

Hopefully I get lucky.

and then cut across the field where he'll

snatch the ball out of the air.

AMARI: Agh!

MICHAEL: Get in there!

JAY: You blew it! SFX: [Buzzer]

[Whistle blowing]

COACH: It's the right side alignment.

AMARI: I'm on the right. COACH: Correct, that's it.

in high school. We used to have a twin play.

We'd both run it in,

and I know she's gonna kill it out there.

JAY: Here's Lauren of Double Trouble on the

line of scrimmage for her first attempt.

For some reason, she's running the wrong way.

MICHAEL: Oh, he's going for another one.

[Whistle]

For over a decade, the race has visited communities

from coast to coast to coast and around the world.

And today, it's my great pleasure to introduce you

to my home town, Russell, Manitoba!

[Cheering]

Teams must make their way to Kreos Aviation and

sign up for one of two flights

arriving 15 minutes apart in Russell.

MICHAEL: Let's go. Woo!

[Cheering]

AMARI: There's two flights,

so we've got to get on that first flight.

MICHAEL: He's not puking up W's.

-He's eating 'em. -I'm just eating them.

[Chewing]

My tummy's so full of W's right now.

[Cheering]

TYSON: Let's go, baby!

MICHAEL: Football is definitely ingrained in me.

With a dad that came from the NFL and the CFL,

that was my first sport that I got put into.

TREVOR: Here we go. We've got double right

JAY: Michael looking to make his family proud.

and now we're in third. This is huge.

We've got to get to the first signup board.

MICHAEL: Yes. AMARI: We are Sask, baby!

That's what I'm talking about.

TYSON: Flight one, baby! MICHAEL: Let's go, flight one.

OLIVIA: Oh, intense.

JULIA: We're on flight number one!

[Cheering]

BRAD: I can't wait to see my daughter catch a football.

She's gonna kill it.

I've been in stadiums like this my whole life.

Usually hockey stadiums, always supporting my dad.

Now it's his turn to support me.

I really don't want to let him down.

I'm pretty stressed out.

COLIN: Let's go, Matt! SFX: [Whistle]

So frustrated. I should have done this challenge.

I know all these plays. I play Madden all the time.

And she got stuck memorizing the plays.

We're fighting for our life again. [Beep], man!

BRAD: Sammy, do it. What have you got for me?

SAM: Boom, and then a little dancey dance.

BRAD: [Laughing]

NICOLE: Agh, [beep]! We were so close. Agh!

KATIE: We made it. TAYLOR: We made it.

MATT: Time to fly.

COLIN: Lots of pain here today. Lots of pain.

Not feeling too great to be on the second flight.

My knees are torn to shreds.

Not feeling too confident if we have to keep doing

a lot of running, but you know,

that's all we can do at this point,

just got to try to power through the pain.

GURLEEN: I'm a perfectionist, but I know that we're in

last place, so I have to get out of here.

on two separate flights

from Regina to Russell, Manitoba.

When they land, they'll need to make their way

on foot to Millennium Park.

For 35 years, Kids Help Phone

has been Canada's only free 24/7

E-mental health service supporting young kids

all across the country.

When they arrive at Millennium Park,

teams will need to unlock a box using a series of numbers

they've encountered on this leg of the race.

Once unlocked, they'll find pieces of a puzzle that will

reveal the Kids Help Phone text number:

6-8-6-8-6-8.

Once teams have assembled the puzzle,

they'll receive their next clue.

I'm a sport program coordinator.

I've also had the opportunity to coach kids in wrestling.

The kids crisis hotline, it's definitely a really

wonderful resource for youth to be able to utilize.

where they'll be welcomed by a cheering crowd

and the Ukrainian Yachminka Dance Ensemble.

Once they've learned the complicated Bukovina dance

and perform in step with the ensemble,

Baba Tania will give them their next clue.

We have never had a lead like this in the race before.

This is huge, I'm feeling pumped up.

But there's gonna be teams on our heels.

INSTRUCTOR: Take a step forward.

OLIVIA: I am not a great dancer.

This dance starts off slow.

Then it gets faster and faster,

and then it starts spinning in circles.

I need to take it slowly. Repeat, repeat, repeat.

We've tried many times,

KATIE: My nieces and nephew have been doing

Ukrainian dancing for a few years.

It's a lot of movements in one spot, a lot of hopping,

you know, a lot of this involved.

Put on a show.

INSTRUCTOR: Pose! OLIVIA: Okay.

INSTRUCTOR: And on a pose we say, "Ya!"

And I'll show you it, but it's high-pitched.

OLIVIA: [High-pitch] Ya! INSTRUCTOR: Yeah.

OLIVIA: Let's just try it out. INSTRUCTOR: Try it?

OLIVIA: Yeah, let's try it out.

I think where I'm messing up is my transition.

TYSON: I've always loved being a bit of a showman.

I don't half-ass anything,

but having hearing loss, being able to hear

the beat of the music, and I know that part of

the memorization is gonna be tough for me.

TYSON: And then a what? INSTRUCTOR: One, two.

GURLEEN: I definitely think that Kevin's gonna channel

his great memorization skills and just kill this challenge.

and I was inspired to enroll in a hip hop dance class,

and I performed in a recital as a grown man.

The footwork in this dance is very intricate.

My knees physically cannot keep up with the tempo,

and I can't get the hops down.

COLIN: I've got daggers in my knees right now.
