You want those smooth and warm vocals

you've been hearing from those popular

songs? If so, you are in the right place.

In today's video, I am giving away a free

process that you will create from

scratch. Perfect for achieving those

smooth and warm vocals you've been

looking for. So make sure to stick around

as I walk you through the setup plus at

the end of the video, I'll be sharing

this process with you for free. And also

I'll be using Wave Studio Rack, making it

compatible with any DAW. Whether you are

using Logic Pro, Q-Bass, FL Studio Pro 2,

any DAW you are using, all you need is

Wave plugin. You will be able to access

this free process. So without wasting

much time, let's get right into it. And

if there is a first time watching me, I

am Raklos Beat. Please make sure you

subscribe to this channel, like this

video, because we've been giving amazing

stuff to producers helping producers to

achieve a nice vocal sound. So now this

is the vocals we are going to work on.

Yeah, so this is from one of my artists,

Thin Let's Win. And this is the raw

vocals. So you'll be listening to the raw

file, the raw project. After that, I'll

take you through how I'll be mixing these

vocals from scratch. So make sure to

stick and stay. Now let's

listen to the raw vocals.

(Music)

me too show me low let's keep riding solo

this life now you look no de warrior my

logo me no de disappear what you there

for your body you know she lay on us a

beat no one is in no body oh come on man

the judge they go for gee yeah so I

intentionally muted the beat so you can

hear the raw vocals well so as you can

see the raw vocal sounds amazing yeah so

I always advise make sure you get your

source right your vocal must be clean

enough before you start mixing everything

so as I said I'll be using wave studio

rack so there is the wave studio rack as

you can see I have nothing on it so I'll

be saving the process in studio rack so

that you can load it and use it yeah so

the first thing I'm going to use on this

vocals is auto tune and I'm going to use

waves auto tune it's called waves tune

real time yeah so there is it waves tune

real time I have this preset I mostly use

the key of this song is image oh yeah I

think it's image oh so I'll select image

oh and there's the return speed like as

we always doing auto tune so there is the

return speed for the waves raw tune so

let's listen to how it sounds after you

say you be telling me no be joke tell me

why man them just they follow me I know

the one share you know they want me to

show me low yeah so as you can see it's

worse the same as auto tune the lower you

bring the speed yeah the more auto tune

you get over here so in case you have not

used this wave tune real time before

that's how it actually works yeah as I

said I'll be giving this preset to you so

you can just work around it so for this

vocals I will set the speed to about

seven yeah seven is okay and as I said

the key is image oh and after setting the

auto tune I'll add in my noise suppressor

from NSI NS1 sorry yeah I keep saying NSI

NS1 so yeah this will reduce the noises

in the vocals though there's not much

noises in the vocals though but in case

you know there might be some glitches and

some air-conditioning noises small small

ones yeah so I'll just bring in this

threshold a little bit about 10 over here

to reduce the noises over here yeah make

sure you don't do much because if you do

much the vocals will sound muddy let me

overdo it for you to listen to how it all

sounds when you overdo it riding solo

this life down yellow no they worry I'm a

logo me I know they disappoint oh they

say you bit yeah so you see how it sounds

when you overdo it so make sure you do

less okay so now after tuning our vocals

and also having our nonsense controlled

it's time to EQ out our vocals basically

EQ is to cut out some bad frequencies

from the vocals you know there are some

frequencies that might crash with the

beat so we need to carve out those

frequencies and make space for the vocals

to shine on the beat basically that's

what EQ does so for this one I'll be

using the FC's EQ from waves yeah so I'll

be using this one FC's yeah so there's

the FC's EQ I'll be using it works the

same as fast filter if you have been

using fast filter yeah you can use this

plugging is the same thing so what I'll

be doing here is first I will look at the

blow frequencies over here so let me play

the vocals and look at for

you to hear what we are doing

yeah so basically what I'm doing here is

I am cutting out those extreme bass in

the vocals you know the beat has some

bass and kicks in it so we need to cut

out those bass frequencies from the vocal

so that it doesn't crash with the beats

bass and kick so that is the reason why I

am cutting those bass frequencies I'm not

cutting much though I'm cutting 200 heads

I am cutting 200 heads because the artist

has that kind of bass voice yeah he has a

deep voice so I need to cut that much

about 200 heads but if you get this

preset maybe your artist vocals might be

10 so if you use my 200 heads your vocals

might sound bad so always listen to your

vocals and use that to set your high pass

so for my high pass I set it to 200 heads

and it's okay for me after doing my low

pass so as usual what I normally do is I

boost and sweep through if I find any bad

frequency I'll bring it down like this

yeah so that's what I'm about to do if

you have been following my tutorials I

always do this yeah because yeah I find

it helpful and it's clean up my vocals

for me anytime so now let me stop talking

and I'll boost and sweep through if I

find any bad frequency I'll bring it down

by doing so you get a clean vocal just

watch me after doing that I'll explain

those frequencies I cut

so now let's get into it

(Music) To show me low let's keep riding

solo Jaya this life now your low no they

worry on my logo tell me why man them

just they follow me another one share you

know the one me too show me low let's

keep riding solo Jaya this life down your

low yeah so I am done with the EQs as you

if you were paying critical attention you

can see if I bypass and engage you can

see a lot of difference in it so let me

explain what I did I already told you I

cut those low frequencies 200 heads and

also for this part too it was a little

bit boomy so I brought it down negative

2.3 DB and also the 500 heads too was

building up so I brought it down negative

2.9 DB and also the high frequencies

about a 3 kilo heads that side contains

some wasters and some peaking so I

brought it down negative 3 DB so as you

can see I brought it down negative 3

negative 2 like I wasn't doing much yeah

so I did some high cut over here to cut

those extreme highs in the vocals so

basically I'm getting that kind of round

vocal because I am cutting the extreme

highs and also the extreme beats making

the vocals keeping the vocals in the

middle yeah so let me bypass and also

engage the EQ for you to listen to the

real difference this has added so now

let's listen because this just turn up in

normal man no fear is this I thought you

say you be telling me no be joke tell me

why man them jokes they follow me I know

they one share you know they want me to

show me love let's keep riding solo just

man no fear is this yeah so I hope you

can hear the difference now for yourself

yeah so everything sounds amazing and

good now yeah so as I said I'll be giving

this process to you everything I'll do

here I'll give the process to you so pay

critical attention to the vocals you can

hear there's a lot of dynamics in the

vocals if I say dynamics I mean the

volume okay let me put it in that way

yeah in some part of the vocals is loud

and some part of the vocals to slow so

for this matter you'll be using

compressor to do that so if you don't

know the work of a compressor that's what

the compressor does in case your vocals

there is some louder part and some lower

parts the compressor will glue them

together make the vocal sound equal

depending on how you set your compressor

yeah so for this one I'll be using the

CLA 2A my favorite compressor over here

there is a CLA 2A so I'll be using the

CLA 2A to glue the vocals for the CLA 2A

is very simple you just increase the

speak reduction over here and it will

compress the vocals over here after that

you can gain stage with this gain knob

over here basically that's what it does

so now let's move on

and do that real quick

yeah so if you listen well you can see

now we have a consistent volume where the

artist shouted the compressor bring the

vocals down and where the vocals are low

it bring them up so that is the work of

the compressor yeah now we are having a

glued vocal now after we EQ our vocals we

compress it now it's time to boost some

frequencies in the vocal so I'll bring in

this EQ PUTEC EQ P1A this is my favorite

EQ for boosting my highs so as you can

see I'm boosting 3 dB of the 10 kilohertz

and also I'll load in another EQ API 550A

yeah so I'll be using this one to boost

the 5 kilohertz 2 dB as well and also the

12 kilohertz 2 dB yeah so basically I am

boosting the 12 kilohertz the 5 kilohertz

and the 10 kilohertz in my vocals so

let's listen to the vocals with just this

EQ adjustment and see what we have now

and after that I'll add another

compressor to glue everything up because

I made some compression over here and

boosted some parts over here so I need

the final compressor to glue everything

up so I'll be using the R-Vox

yeah so now you can see our vocal sounds

amazing on top of the beat so now on the

final turn I'll be adding is a DSR over

here yeah so DSR to cut off those extreme

S's in the vocals and also the extreme

harshness in the vocals so I'll be using

this DSR from Wiffs yeah they're just a

simple DSR so I'll just bring in the

threshold and it will cut those extreme

highs in the vocals for me

yeah so you can see how amazing the

vocals are sounds yeah so I think that'll

be all for this process and for the

reverb I'll make another video for it but

for the sake of these tutorials I'll add

a reverb as a send in Cubase yeah but I

will specifically make a video about

reverb even FX as a whole how to use

reverb delay doubler parallel compression

on your vocals but for this process I'll

be giving you this for your lead vocals

and in another video I'll be doing a

reverb with studio rack for free for you

as well so for the sake of this video

I'll just use Valhalla vintage reverb

yeah so now I added in some Valhalla

reverb and some delays to sweeten up the

vocals so after adding the reverb and

delay let's listen to how everything

sound and also I'll bypass it for you to

know the difference this has added to the

vocal so you can get for yourself how the

vocal sounds let's go

the one share you know they want me to

show me low let's keep riding solo joy it

is life than yellow no day worry on my

logo me I know they disappoint oh they

say you be tiny no be joke that me why

man them jaws they follow me I know they

want you know but they want me to show me

low let's keep riding solo joy it is life

now you know no day worry on my logo me I

know they disappoint oh what you there

for your body kilo chalet I know sapi no

one see no what do you put my mind just a

go for key hey what you there for your

body oh kilo chalet I know sapi no one

see no what do you put my mind it they

say you be tiny no be joke tell me why

man them jaws they follow me I know they

want you know they want me to show me low

let's keep riding solo joy it is life

than yellow no day worry on my logo me I

know they disappoint oh they say you be

tiny no be yeah so you can see the

difference for yourself everything sounds

amazing and nice so I'll be giving this

process to you yeah so now thank you for
