EPISODE 07

Fan Bin,

even if I can't eradicate your entire family today,

I must kill you.

Freeze!

Shen Wen,

why are you opposing me?

Surrender,

Inspector Lin!

He's a quasi-Houtian martial artist.

Please be careful, Captain Mu.

You need not say that.

Today, no one can save him.

This is bad.

He's fighting for survival.

Captain Mu!

That's not good!

Even if I die today,

I must avenge past grievances.

Captain Mu!

Captain Mu!

Shopkeeper,

please open the door.

What happened to her?

She sustained some injuries,

but they're not life-threatening.

Can I trouble the shopkeeper to take care of her?

I'll go after Inspector Lin.

Sure!

You be careful.

Inspector Lin!

Fan Bin,

it's payback time with your life.

How do you know my real name?

Do you still remember Wu Heng?

Wu Heng?

Boss Wu's second son.

That's correct.

How could it be?

The one who wiped out the other four families

wasn't the Wenxiang Sect,

but was you, Master Wu Heng.

You annihilated my Wu Family back then,

today the blood debt shall be repaid.

The escort service was harmed by the Wenxiang Sect.

I have nothing to do with it.

Even now,

are you still quibbling and blaming others?

Spare his life!

Shen Wen,

this is unrelated to you.

Why do you repeatedly try to stop me?

This issue

may not be what you think.

Today, no one can protect him.

Run away first.

Ok.

Are you okay,

Master Wan?

This time,

I genuinely want to thank you, Master Shen, for saving me.

Don't thank me just yet.

Inspector Lin is a skilled martial artist.

If he escapes and goes into hiding,

what future actions can Master Wan take?

This...

The second son has established a firm foothold in the capital.

If we really can't...

That's a bad idea.

There may be a thousand days of theft,

but there won't be a thousand days of prevention.

Does Mr. Shen have any suggestions?

When the Li family was massacred,

you already knew the Wan family was in danger, right?

Why didn't you report it to the officials?

Both the Wan and Shi families should have had a murder suspect.

If they had reported to the officials earlier,

perhaps the murderer would have been found long ago,

preventing today's disaster.

Matters of the martial world can only be solved within the martial world.

I'm afraid it's not just a matter of the martial world,

as you previously mentioned the Wenxiang Sect.

I vaguely recall

that being a religious group eliminated during the Wanli era.

But I also heard Inspector Lin said

the Wu's escort service was destroyed because of some government silver.

That's not true.

This issue...

He caught up with us so quickly.

Time for your demise!

Master Wu Heng,

what happened back then

really had nothing to do with me.

Nothing?

If it weren't for those government silver,

how could the Wan family have accumulated such vast assets?

Those fortunes were amassed through my own hard work, grit, and perseverance,

and had nothing to do with what happened back then.

What exactly happened back then?

Back then, they were escorting

and encountered a group robbing the government silver.

They got greedy

and took advantage of the situation when both parties were injured, seizing the government silver.

I didn't want anything to do with the government silver,

but I was coerced by other escort members

and didn't dare take any in the end.

So, due to this event,

the Wu family escort service was targeted for revenge by the Wenxiang Sect.

Nonsense!

It's obvious you did it just to get those government silver,

otherwise why the few of you living alone?

The Wenxiang Sect's goal

should be the Bull Beast Talisman.

Could Luo Qingning be a member of the Wenxiang Sect?

After that incident,

a few of us who were timid quit our escort service jobs and returned to our hometowns.

That's how we escaped the disaster.

It's useless to talk more.

It's time to die!

I understand now.

Because it's related to the government silver,

the Wan family doesn't dare to report to the officials.

Although we didn't take the government silver,

we are indirectly involved,

so we dare not report it.

In conclusion, it's just a guilty conscience.

Shen Wen,

now that you know the truth,

stop interfering in other people's business.

Back then, the Wenxiang Sect's goal was not the government silver

but the Bull Beast Talisman that came with it.

To get the Beast Talisman back, they destroyed the Wu Clan.

However, this Beast Talisman was shared with the Shi Mansion.

Baseless speculation!

I recently acquired a target list from the Wenxiang Sect.

They are also looking for those involved in robbing the government silver.

So the Wu Escort Service actually...

So what if they did?

These greedy people who embezzled the government silver

deserve to die.

The Yamen will handle the embezzlement of government silver.

Right now, I'm trying to stop you from killing innocent people.

Just based on you, a second-rate martial artist?

Those cheap little tricks.

Let's see what other tricks you have up your sleeve.

I do have some new tricks.

Nonsense!

Prepare to die!

You're awake.

Where's Shen Wen?

I'm not sure.

After he brought you here, he went after Inspector Lin.

Hey!

What happened here?

Besides Shen Wen,

but you, as Jinyiwei,

want to meddle in my business?

Watch out!

Time to die!

Brother Yuan?

Are you all right,

Siqing?

Yes,

I'm fine.

His breathing is shallow.

He probably won't survive.

Although Inspector Lin was badly wounded,

he was able to stop him with little effort.

This Jinyiwei is at least a post-Houtian martial artist.

Hey!

This matter is over,

so hand me that Beast Talisman.

What's the meaning of this?

As a craftsman,

I have a great interest in this Beast Talisman.

So,

what's on your mind?

I hope Captain Mu can give me a chance.

What kind of chance?

I heard that the emperor has set up a Tianji Division

under the jurisdiction of Jinyiwei,

responsible for researching mechanisms and Beast diagrams.

I'd like to join that division.

Then why don't you go to the Ministry of Infrastructure?

Hasn't the governor been recommending you?

The Tianji Division is closer to Tianjia.

You just saved me,

so I didn't want to get rough,

but you are being ignorant.

Regarding this, I'll agree.

Hand me that Beast Talisman.

Elder Brother Yuan...

Commander Mu!

Him?

This officer is...

I am Mu Yuan, Commander-in-Chief of the Jinyiwei.

Commander Mu.

Although only a second-rate martial artist,

with the help of these mechanical creations, you are able to defeat a quasi-Houtian martial artist.

Your craftsmanship is truly impressive.

Thanks for the compliment.

I can recommend you to join the Tianji Division,

and if you perform well,

there will naturally be an opportunity to participate in the research on Beast Talisman.

In that case, thank you, Commander Mu.

You are courageous.

Come to the guard post in a few days and become a lieutenant.

Thank you, Commander Mu.

What about here?

That's a Yamen matter.

You can just report it to the officials yourself.

You agreed to him so easily.

A little shrewd,

but I don't hate that.

He's an annoying guy.

Utilizing all avenues,

there are many smart people trying to climb up the ranks.

He's still inexperienced.

Five days later

Commander Mu,

How is it?

There is indeed a person named Shen Wen in Shen Family Village, Daming Province.

He's the grandson of the village chief.

I compared his portraits with them.

There is no problem.

Are there other issues?

Shen Wen reportedly fell into the river four years ago and was washed away.

They couldn't recover his body.

He came back alive a year later.

He used to be goofy and dumb,

but upon his return, his brain seemed to be enlightened

and he even passed the scholar exam.

The village people said he was saved by a fairy.

He disappeared for a year?

So what has he been doing during that year?

They say he was washed by the river into the deep mountains,

lived in hardship there for a year before finding his way home.

The villagers said he was near death upon his return.

He has scars all over his body.

What about the people who vouched for him?

We have verified too,

and there's no problem.

Since there is no issue with his identity,

then let him be a lieutenant first.

Yes, sir.

You really let him come?

His background is clean

and he's also very talented.

So there's no problem.

Good day, Captain Mu.

Shut up!

Who asked you to speak?

Uncle Fu,

you can supervise this guy first.

Let's have some tea.

I'm going home to catch up on some sleep.

Shen Xiucai!

Captain Fu,

you may just call me Zhi Zhi.

Zhi Zhi?

Let me give a brief introduction.

This is Liu Shang,

and he's Wang Wu.

For now, I'm in charge of all three of you.

Senior Wang.

Senior Liu.

Let's take a brief walk around the streets today.

We'll return to the capital in two days.

We can finally go back to the capital.

I've had enough of this shitty place.

Be more diligent in everything.

Please excuse the lack of hospitality.

Sure.

Let's go.

First, let's eat.

We need to arrange a welcome party.
