-The bad guys and the police
and everybody,

we have a personal life,
and we have a professional life.

My job is
to catch this guy.

Their job is try
to avoid me catching them.

During their professional hours,

they will do
their criminal business.

During their personal hours,
it's their personal time.

They have families.
They have kids.

Never mix.

-Gregory Woolley was the
leader of a Haitian street gang

in Montreal
who fostered strong ties with

both the Hells Angels
and the Rizzuto crime family.

-The Rizzutos relied heavily
on the Hells Angels for muscle,

for resources.

And then at some point,

I would say in between 2019
and 2022, that all frayed.

And by 2022,

the Hells Angels were intent
on taking out the Rizzuto mob

instead of helping
the Rizzuto mob.

-Gregory Wooley played all
sides of the Montreal and Quebec

turf wars, and this is
a very interesting part

of Gregory Woolley
as an outsider.

Why was Gregory Woolley
an outsider?

He was Black.

These gangs are notorious
for having

white supremacist leanings,

but Gregory Woolley
was special.

-He was a go-to guy to
get dirty work done.

And the Italians would
use him as well as

the bikers would use him

because he had access
to street gangs.

-People called
Greg Woolley Picasso

because he's made crime an art,
quote unquote,

as somebody that could get
everybody to a negotiating table

and sell something as
good for everybody.

But by 2022,

Woolley is starting to bump
heads with some pretty major,

powerful Hells Angels.

-Martin Robert
appears to have been one

of the Hells Angels who did not
agree with siding with Rizzuto,

so Greg had enemies
inside the Hells Angels.

But he had chosen his side
in the war,

and it was a dangerous war.

There were bodies all over
the streets of Mafia leaders.

[ Gunshots ]

-These feuds are reaching
a boiling point

in the summer of 2023.

I don't know if Woolley had
a complete grasp

of the dynamite
he was playing with.

[ Camera shutter clicking ]

-I'm not this kind of person

who, like, didn't know what my
husband was or did in his past.

But, I mean, that was
not the person he was to me.

The media here are picturing him
like he's a bad person,

but they didn't know
anything about his private life.

He was a really good father
and a great husband.

Greg didn't want any of his kids
to go through the same path.

He wanted to put them
in environments

that make them very far
from what he had to go through.

What he chose, actually.

-He's a bridge between
the Hells Angels and the Mafia.

But that also means he's now got
twice the enemies, right?

-He was a threat
to a lot of different people.

Your life becomes
less complicated

when you get a guy like that
out of the way.

-Sometimes he was like,
"Let's move to another country.

I'm tired."

He was not into it anymore
since I got pregnant again.

He was so happy when he knew
it was, like, a daughter.

Something change
in his attitude.

He wanted to have a girl so bad,
and he was so happy.

So he started
to disconnect himself

from this other part
of his life.

I was kind of like,
"Okay, this kid is really
going to change him at the end."

I wish Greg was more scared,

because I remember I was like a
little like, "No, don't do this.

Don't go there.
You should be careful."

He's like, "Don't worry,
nothing's going to happen."

He used to say that,
and he was ignoring the signs.

Every war, every conflicts,
every time that you take a side,

well, there's another side
who's not happy about it.

-He was a big player
in a very dangerous game.

He had sided with
the Rizzuto clan,

the older leaders of the Mafia,

and there were people

who had wanted badly
to get rid of the Rizzutos.

He had picked his side
in the Mafia war

and the Hells Angels war.

-So I never really
talked about that day

because, I mean, I wasn't ready.

I remember I gave birth,

and we had that appointment
at the doctor to check the baby.

He wanted to be there.

And I remember when
we left the office, it was like,

"I'm so happy I came."

And we were walking
in the parking...

He got into the passenger seat
and opened up the door for me,

and I looked at him in the back.

I looked at him and I look at my
daughter, and I was like, "Wow,

I made something good in life to
have them in my life," you know?

And he didn't have
the car seat clipped right yet,

so I turned my head.

I looked straight,
and I hear the gunshot.

I turned like this,
and all the bullets were flying.

I looked at my husband.
He gets fast on clipping her.

He did this.
I saw him receive the bullets.

And he fell on the floor.

And I took him into my arms,
and I look at the baby,

if the baby was okay.
I saw she was okay.

I closed the door. I hold him
until the ambulance come.

But it was too late.
He lost too much blood.

-He was very powerful
and very well-connected.

And today, Gregory Woolley
was gunned down in a parking lot

in broad daylight.

-When I saw the way
that Gregory Woolley was shot,

to me, it's just, you know,
it's just the way it had to go.

It had to come.

There's a cleanup

that's being made, uh,
within the criminal community.

-Gregory Woolley,

a longtime street gang leader
and biker gang member,

was shot dead in a parking lot
in Saint-Jean-sur-Richelieu.

-Imagine you're
Gregory Woolley.

You pull up
in your beautiful car

with your beautiful wife
and your child.

You aren't really thinking
at that point of -- of danger.

And he should have.

-Woolley was
incredibly skilled

at playing both sides
of the fence,

but in this case,
it proved fatal.

-The death, they say, may
be linked to organized crime.

-The fact that the people
that put this contract
on Woolley's head

decided to do it
in such a brazen manner

and in such a disrespectful
manner was a message.

It was a message that
if you follow in his footsteps,

we're going to do
the same thing to you.

[ Man speaking
foreign language ]

-There's always a settling
of accounts.

That always has been
the excuse given by police

when they can't solve a crime.

But, you know, in effect,
why it's done.

Settling of accounts.

-Observers are calling this
a major event

in Montreal's crime world,

and there are fears of
more violence to come.

-Looking back at it,

I told him so many times
to get out of this.

I don't say this
what kills Greg,

but, I mean, some of the things
he did at the end

to help people
didn't help him out.

-Police are still
looking for a shooter,

who they say fled
in a black SUV.

Shortly after the shooting,

a burned-out vehicle
was found in Montreal.

-There were a bunch
of machinations

that were going on behind
the scenes with the Rizzutos,

the Hells Angels,
and other street gang leaders.

-The Hells Angels are moving in
on their gambling turf

rather than working with them
like they have in the past.

-And Marty
and the Hells Angels,

he went from looking at it

as, "We're happy
to have a piece of this,"

to, "We want the whole pie."

-We're talking
about $160 million.

That's how much flowed
through this sports website.

-People lose their, you know,
livelihoods and money over it.

Um, and then there's
the violence associated

to the control
of the illegal gaming.

-Power is shifting
in the mob world,

and it's causing
tension and conflict.

The police are doing everything
they seemingly can

to try
and at least slow down

motorcycle gangs,
organized crimes.

They put all sorts of

multidisciplinary task forces
on them.

-This is a --
an example of a vest

that's been seized
during a police investigation.

It's like their official
uniform. Um, they wear --

they wear this patch
to project power.

They try and use this to scare
rivals, show their affiliation.

And they do have specific rules
surrounding the -- the vests.

Organized crime groups
are motivated by profit

and making money.
So if we can reduce that profit,

it will reduce their ability
to commit further crimes.

The mission
of the Biker Enforcement Unit

is to conduct investigations

on any organized crime
outlaw motorcycle gang,

but the Hells Angels currently
remain at the top of that list.

They're like any
criminal organization.

They're going to learn
from court disclosure.

They're going to learn
from mistakes they've made.

-The Hells Angels have
had trouble in the last decades

because there's been,
as we all know, more heat --

more police involvement,
more prosecutions.

-A massive operation
by multiple police forces

to dismantle an alleged
underground gambling ring

whose revenue, police say,
exceeded $160 million.

-With the corporatization
of organized crime,

what you're seeing is
different methods.

They're being more effective
and more efficient

but also, uh, more in-your-face.

-Anytime there's high levels
of profit, illegal profit,

there's going to be
competition for that profit.

-Project Hobart,
which was really the biggest,

most notorious outlaw biker
gang prosecution in Ontario,

was really about all
of the things that have changed

in Hells Angels, outlaw
biker gangs' modes of operation.

-According to court documents,

the biker gang
allegedly poured millions

gained from an underground
gambling ring into cash, bikes,

and even waterfront land.

-Project Hobart was initiated

because of the violence
associated

with the illegal gaming market,

so the Biker Enforcement Unit
and the OPP

obtained intelligence
and information

regarding an escalation
of violence.

It included shootings,
attempted murders, arsons.

This presented a clear danger
to the public,

and police had to act on it.

-Court documents say millions
flowed to the Hells Angels

at the top of a pyramid
of bookies,

each with their own code name.

-The police put a number
of resources onto this project.

They charged a number of people,

including the heads,
the higher-ups here.

We're not just talking
the underlings.

The top of the food chain
for Project Hobart

was Robert Barletta.

-Rob Barletta was a key figure
in the investigation

and was identified as a leader
in the organized crime group

responsible
for the illegal gaming network.

-Robert Barletta is thought
to be one

of the highest-ranking people

in the Hells Angels,
almost untouchable.

-You could say Barletta is like

the, um, Warren Buffett
of the bad guys.

He knows where to go,
and he knows what to invest,

and he knows how to read people,
and he doesn't waste time
in stupid meetings.

-Teflon Rob is sort of a --
a-a stealing of the terms

that we use for other people
that we know are untouchable.

You'll remember the name
Teflon Don.

Now, Teflon Rob is
the more polite version of it,

because this is a guy
that basically

has never had a speeding ticket.

He is somebody
that is really in the crosshairs

of a number of people,
from law enforcement to people

who are most assuredly
not in law enforcement.

-Teflon Rob got
his nickname for his ability

to dodge law enforcement,
dodge prison,

and then, frankly,
you know, dodge bullets.

-In 2020, he survives
an assassination attempt

by people
who are obviously angry at him.

-This assassination attempt
was caught on

surveillance footage.

First, we see
Rob Barletta passing by.

And a few seconds later,
two men appear.

He's being followed.

-My sources said that
it was a murder-for-hire plot,

and likely, these were
members of street gangs

carrying out
this assassination attempt.

And sometimes
when you hire street gangs,

you get what you pay for.

You get incompetent hit men.

You can watch the video, and you
see they waited way too long.

[ Gunshots ]

Barletta had passed the car,
and he was just about
in his house

when they finally got out
and started shooting.

They opened fire, firing wildly.

One of the guys
was running backwards

and shooting, even though
he wasn't coming under fire.

-Barletta survived
the attempt on his life

but would find himself
the target of Project Hobart.

-The police bring almost on
a silver platter to prosecutors

evidence, wiretaps,
surveillance video.

Despite mountains of evidence,
thousands of pages of evidence,

we're talking
over 20 people charged,

and the prosecution turned into
a complete and total bust.

And it made the public wonder,
"Well, what was this all for?"

-"There was no plan."

Those are the words
a Crown lawyer used to explain

how the prosecution
of a gambling ring supplying

millions of dollars to Ontario
Hells Angels is in tatters.

-One of the things in Canada

that continues to be a struggle
of the criminal justice system

is not necessarily
the police work

that goes into these projects.

Things fall apart
at the prosecutorial level.

-But documents show the Crown
Attorney's office in Brampton,

where the case would
be prosecuted,

was not prepared for the volume.

-They will have 65
police officers doing a project

or a task force, but they will
have one or two attorneys --
one or two.

Now, there's only so much
human bandwidth in a day.

-The evidence generated
by the efforts

of 14 law enforcement agencies

added up to more than 200,000
pages of documents.

-The prosecution gets bankers'
boxes filled with documents.

You could basically stack them
up to the size

of the Empire State Building.
I mean that literally.

-Not a single jail sentence
came out of Hobart.

-People are walking away
with no record.

And a paper -- paper trail
obtained by CTV News shows

the provincial government knew
the case was in trouble

but did not do enough
to save it.

-Cases against all
of the alleged ringleaders,

Robert Barletta
never went to trial.

Really made them look
incompetent and ineffective.

-And I can only imagine
the response in the task force

and the police department
offices that say,

"We brought you a case
on a silver platter.

You can't prosecute it
correctly?

What in the world is going on?"

-Now, let me see.
I'm going to...say it.

Just, uh...

So as we started
this investigation --

So, I'm going to go back.

Police c-conduct investigations,
gather evidence,

and if there's
reasonable grounds

to substantiate
criminal charges,

we present that to the courts.

Once it goes through the courts,
it's out of police hands.

It's their job to take that,
those charges

and that investigation,
through the court process.

-I think what we began to see

is that mega trials
would lead to mega headaches.

When you have something
like 160 defendants,

it gets insane, and the justice
system just gets calcified.

-The higher up you go in terms
of the people you target

in transnational
organized crime,

the more sophisticated
the investigations have to be.

The techniques have to be,
you know, undercover officers,

wiretaps, you know, seizing
devices that are encrypted,

that have to be decrypted.

Uh, so these are very lengthy

and often very expensive
investigations.

-I had someone talk to me and --
and say that they estimate

that it takes about $1 million
an investigation

in order to take down
one member of the Hells Angels.

Obviously, this is
just an estimate,

but that gives us a sense of the
scale of these investigations.

-Despite the millions of hours
and the millions of dollars

put in to Project Hobart,

the charges are then withdrawn
against Mr. Barletta,

giving him some real credence
now to the name Teflon Rob.

-The Hells Angels prove that

they're not only
just kings of the street,

they can be the kings
in the courtroom.

-So Barletta walks
on all charges.

He'll go back
to running the gambling rackets.

Some say the whole thing
only increased his standing

in the Hells Angels.

-So people really begin
to question that,

in the war against the
Hells Angels, who is winning?

These people are
openly engaging in a war.

The war happens
to take place in our streets.

If you're lucky enough,
you won't get hit by
a fly-by bullet.

♪♪

-Dirty Diaz was a member
of the Niagara chapter
of the Hells Angels.

He was a collector in
their sports gambling business.

♪♪

There were a lot of
high-ranking Hells Angels,

guys that are very close
to Marty Robert,

specifically Rob Barletta,
AKA Teflon Rob,

that felt very close
to Dirty Diaz.

-Dirty Diaz was a guy
who made things easier

to move drugs
through the Toronto area.

He wasn't a leader, but
he was a very important piece.

-He was thought
to be the bagman, the muscle,

the money-picker-upper
for the Hells Angels.

-We were conducting
investigations,

and he was a target
of the investigation.

And during surveillance,

we often observe
other crimes being committed

by members of organized crime.

-One day, there were
a couple officers sitting

outside a gym watching this man.

[ Gun cocks ]

[ Gunshots ]

-Shortly after 11:00 a.m.,

gunfire erupted
in this parking lot.

The shooting continued
into HUF's boxing gym.

-Four men roll up in a car.
The hit takes place.

He shot right inside the gym
and just outside the door.

-Two gunmen came up and shot
him six times at close range.

A lot of people
seem to die outside of gyms,

I've noticed lately.

He, like,
tried to run back in the gym

and was, like,
yelling "call" 911.

And it's just -- it's
kind of, like, sad and ironic.

Like, call 911? He's a biker.
They, like -- They hate police.

But, like, when you're about to
die, that's who you want around.

-32-year-old
Michael Deabaitua-Schulde,

known to his friends as Diaz,

was fatally shot in the parking
lot of this busy strip plaza.

-Dirty Diaz was murdered
in early 2019.

That hit team had
been dispatched from Montreal.

The belief from
some Hells Angels

is that the Rizzutos didn't
go through proper channels

to get this problem resolved
and decided just to act

and kill this guy
without any permission

from the Hells Angels group,

who the Rizzuto mob had been
in business with for decades.

-He was shot as tensions
went up between the Rizzutos

and the Hells Angels --
gambling tensions.

Um, and so, any time
there's restructuring,

there's going to be --
going to be casualties.

-Police say his murder
was a targeted killing,

but they won't discuss a motive.

-We were there
to prevent further violence.

In this case,
we weren't able to.

♪♪

-The car makes a getaway.

They think they're
going to get away with it --

change cars, change clothes,

never be caught,
never be detected.

Now, these four men don't know

that the police force is on
the person that they just shot.

[ Sirens wailing ]

-As a result of surveillance,
during the investigation,

Peel Regional Police
investigated

and laid homicide charges.

-It is very rare for a-a --
a mob hit to be solved,

and the Peel Police have done
this i-in just over two days.

This is -- It's a --
It's a record.

-And only by that sheer
unfortunate confluence

of events for these four men

and the sheer luck
of the bagman being watched

did all of this turn into a
first-degree murder prosecution

where three of the four men

were convicted
of first-degree murder.

-He was targeted for a reason,
so we take that seriously.

We take all organized crime
activity seriously.

I can say he is, um,
a well-entrenched member

of that motorcycle gang.

-I defended one of the men
who were in that car,

the getaway driver.

-Investigators also say
this blue Honda Civic,

which was found on fire
a short distance away,

was the getaway car.

-I get asked everywhere I go
and whatever street I walk on,

"How do you do what you do?
How do you sleep at night?

How do you defend people
that you know are guilty?"

These are all
really philosophical questions,

but I sleep like a baby.

-It's never been stated
for certain

who put the contract out
on Dirty Diaz's head.

I believe through my sourcing

that this was really
the first salvo in the war

that would become the conflict

pitting the Hells Angels
versus the Rizzuto mob.

-I think the reason
he was killed

was to, um, cut in on the Hells
Angel influence in that area.

-One of the theories is that

it's the Mafia hitting back
at the Hells Angels

for encroaching
on their territory,

which is illegal sports betting.

That's a battle
that's still being waged today.

-Since the murder
outside the gym,

it's almost like
anything's up for grabs.

It's almost like, um,
there is no real order.

And so,
just grab what you can.

-You don't shoot and kill
a full-patched member

of the Hells Angels lightly.
You know the consequences.

And in this case, there's
probably going to be
retaliation.

-The Hells Angels
are always looking

to infiltrate law enforcement,

and they do it not in --

in -- in an overt manner,
that I've seen.

It's -- It's --
It's a soft approach.

-Organized crime
can't flourish if there's --

i-if there isn't corruption
in the police and in politics.

It came out on wiretaps
in 2015.

Leo Rizzuto on the wiretap says,
"What do we pay him for?

What do we pay them for?"

It was clear-cut.

I had him saying

that there's certain individuals
on the payroll.

So -- So did Vito Rizzuto.
He says there's dirty cops.

But the department
doesn't want to hear.

-When there's a dirty cop
in the mix, taking shortcuts,

perhaps not following
the rules,

that has become catnip

to criminal defense lawyers
like me.

-Bribery isn't part
of the landscape,

more so in Quebec
than the rest of Canada.

One of the things that gets me
about this whole world

is that people just accept
that it happens.

It's illegal, it's wrong,
and, you know,

you certainly don't tell
your tourist board about it,

but everybody knows it's true.

There is a famous story

of Mom Boucher walking
with a young, uh, biker,

a would-be biker,
and pointing at a car

and said, "That's my pick."

That's what they were
calling police at the time.

And he bragged about the fact

that he had so many police
in his pocket,

that he had paid off
so many of them

that they were almost immune
to any kind of prosecution.

But in Quebec, especially
with the provincial police,

a lot of them
would look the other way.

-When you can find
a high-powered

and high-profile sergeant who,
for lack of a better term,

goes to the dark side,

that is something that the dark
side is willing to pay

a very,
very significant premium for.

-For police officers,
it's a fine line

between trust and temptation.

Tonight, you'll meet some
who resisted that temptation

and others who were accused,

convicted, and jailed
for crossing the line.

-How can organized crime
exist without corruption?

-Someone giving you intel
on the inside

gives you a major edge
over your enemy.

-You can see it in --
in the, uh, convictions

of senior police detectives
like -- like Benoit Roberge.

Benoit Roberge was a senior
Montreal police detective

who'd been investigating
the bikers for a long time.

He was a source for a lot of us,
uh, boat bikers.

-He had access to all
of the events,

the thoughts, the prosecutions,

the investigations
of Hells Angels

and other outlaw biker gangs.

-One of the important
police officers, Benoit Roberge,

who had led the biker
investigations

against Maurice "Mom" Boucher,

it will later turn out,
several years later,

that he will fall into
the pay of the Hells Angels.

-Benoit Roberge is accused
of selling sensitive information

to the very people
he once investigated.

-He got arrested because he was
about to sell police information

to organized crime, and he
got caught, which was bad.

-Well, he wasn't working alone.
That's impossible.

He must have had
other individuals with him.

-The news shocked
the province.

How could a star cop of all
people turn to the dark side?

-Benoit Roberge
was the good guy.

-Instead of buying information
from the Hells hit man,

Roberge was selling him
information.

Their roles had been reversed.

It was Roberge
who was the snitch.

-It's all about the money,
right?

So if you have
the right price...

-If the Hells Angels
could corrupt somebody

like Benoit Roberge, it just
shows the power that they have,

the power of organized crime.

-The public is left wondering,
"How far does this go?"

And what I mean by that is, are
there other people doing this

that simply haven't been caught?

-Corruption plays
an invaluable role

in the overall success
of the Hells Angels.

And Marty Robert,

you can't operate
a local criminal organization

without connections, ties,
links into law enforcement,

into the judiciary.

It would be impossible.

They have moles.

They have dirty cops
that are on the take.

They've got tipsters.

And I think it runs
the gamut from, you know,

local corruption
to bigger national corruption.

-Martin Robert --
very smart man. Very smart.

Totally different
from Mom Boucher.

Definitely a businessman.

And this is the way
the new wave of the Hells Angels

is going now.

-Since they entered
Canada in the '70s,

the Hells Angels
have always played second fiddle

to the Rizzutos,

and they've always been
beholden to someone above them.

Marty Robert has the vision

that the Hells Angels
should be the ones

that are pulling
all the strings,

um, the ones that have
final say on everything

and that, logistically,
he thought he could pull it off.

But Marty
couldn't do this alone.

So he needs help. And he goes
and brings in Rob Barletta.

-Essentially, Robert Barletta,
he's been brought in to
the big leagues.

He started in London,
worked his way up to Niagara,

and now he's in the Montreal
chapter of the Hells Angels.

-Marty trusts
Rob Barletta more than

most, uh,
in his Hells Angel kingdom.

He's somebody that

Marty identified as
an MVP-type person,

that he needed to be
by his side.

The move that the
Hells Angels brass decided on,

to -- to transfer Rob Barletta
to Montreal,

was a -- a major development.

He's fearless, and he's
ferocious, and he's intelligent,

and that's a
pretty intoxicating mix.

Meanwhile, Leonardo Rizzuto
is living on borrowed time.

He's in an incredibly
precarious position.

-Rizzuto was reportedly
shot at

around six times
from someone in a moving vehicle

as he drove on highway 440.

He managed to continue driving
for about two kilometers.

-You're Leonardo Rizzuto.

One of your brothers is killed.
Your grandfather is killed.

Your dad serves time in jail
and then comes back and dies.

You've got assassins'
bullets coming through

your high-end car.

[ Gunshots ]

[ Tires screech ]

-The gunshots were
following him.

He eventually came
to a stop in a funeral home,

uh, parking lot,
which is kind of eerie.

Uh, and he had been shot
in the foot

but had survived the attempt
on his life.

-2023 was marked with multiple
daytime mob-related shootings

in Montreal, targeting prominent
figures in organized crime.

-And the law enforcement went
like 0 to 1,000.

And then at some point in 2023,

law enforcement showed up
at Marty Robert's house

to execute a search warrant.

And he wasn't there.

And my sources are telling me
Marty was so kind of carefree

that he decided
to go to Disney World...

-♪ The magic is calling
for you and me ♪

...that, you know,
he took his family

and went to Disney World
and Epcot Center in Orlando

and that he possibly
took meetings

with American Hells Angels,

um, at this vacation.

There was a lot of worry
amongst American Hells Angels

in the last couple years

that the Hells Angels
becoming adversarial

with the Rizzuto mob
was going to blow back

on the American Hells Angels
chapters

that are doing current business
with Italian Mafia families.

American creation and product,

and the Hells Angels are
the only organized crime group

that America gave to the world.

And they've expanded --

62 countries, 475 chapters.

You know, this is the McDonald's
of organized crime.

is benefiting from the money

that's being made
in the drug trade,

the -- from, you know,

importing and exporting
the drugs that are not only

wreaking havoc here,

but also now in other places
like Australia and New Zealand

and, you know,
the South Pacific.

-Right from the time
they started 50 or so years ago,

the goal was to run
the trade in North America.

But now you go further.

There are
Iranian-sponsored hits,

where Canadian and U.S. hit men
are being hired

by Iranian people
who run the drug trade.

-Earlier this year,
there was a case.

a member of the Hells Angels
and an associate

were charged in
a murder-for-hire plot

in which a U.S. indictment said
they were hired

to kill Iranian dissidents
living in the United States.

-U.S. officials allege Zindashti
recruited Damion Patrick Ryan,

a member of the Hells Angels
in B.C.,

and that Ryan recruited
Adam Richard Pearson,

another Hells Angels member,
to carry out the attack.

-We're talking
very scary stuff.

Just look at the indictment
from the U.S. government

that alleges
that the hit involved

separating this man's head
from his torso.

That's not just a hit.
That's essentially decapitation.

-So what this case shows is
that the Hells Angels

have become kind of the go-to
brand for global crime, right?

When you have
an Islamic theocracy looking

to get a job done
in North America,

they're going to
the Hells Angels

because of that global
brand awareness.

in a different world.

I think the violence
will increase.

further carnage.

and he was able to rally

entire street gang underworld

of Quebec City against the Hells
Angels in less than a year.

You need to tell that story
to get to the point of

why people are cutting
off fingers.

from Saguenay,

200 kilometers North
of Quebec City,

was found right here
in Montreal's Rosemont

overnight with his finger
and toe cut off

after a possible kidnapping
linked to drug trafficking.

-So, I think you
have a situation

where the Blood Family Mafia
represents the 2020s underworld.

The -- The -- The modern-day
gangland culture

is the Blood Family Mafia.

-According to sources, the BFM
gang is led by Dave Turmel.

He's gone after the Hells
after refusing

to pay a 10% tax on drug sales

in Hells-controlled territory.

-The main point of contention

in the Blood Family Mafia's
war with the Hells Angels

was a rebuffing
of the traditional 10% tax

that the Hells Angels
in Quebec City

had always placed on the
street gangs and the drug crews.

Ice Pick Turmel
and the Blood Family Mafia felt

that they were somehow absolved

or not eligible
to have to pay the tax,

and when it was told to them
that, "No,

you owe 10% of your take,"

that's what sparked
this conflict.

that the Blood Family Mafia,

when they decided to go to war

with the Quebec City
Hells Angels,

completely understood
who Marty Robert was

and that just
because you were declaring war

on the Quebec City Hells Angels,
I don't know if they realized

that that meant they
were declaring war

on the Hells Angels empire
period.
