So how did you ever come to own a nursery?

Oh...

Growing up, we had this big backyard

and I got into gardening.

I loved taking care of plants

and watching them grow and get bigger,

and I started working at a nursery during the summers

and just soaked up everything I could.

Majored in horticulture in college,

came back here after I got out,

and when the owners decided to sell,

I decided to buy.

Wow.

And now I own a nursery.

I... You really knew what you wanted.

Didn't you?

No, not a clue.

No, I was just, uh, kicking around from job to job,

and then, uh...

well, then 9/11 happened.

And I felt it was my duty to be of service,

so my dad suggested I join the army.

He was military-- like father, like son.

I mean, as much as I love being of service

and I love working with Sunshine,

what I missed was this--

you know, building things with my own hands.
