[Mr. Gangster]

It's a call from you.

Mr. Doc? Answer me, Mr. Doc.

Yes, Chairman.

You just ruined your life for a mere woman.

Keep this in mind. I always keep my word.

So try protecting her as well as you can.

Mister.

Episode 14

I took the battery out of your phone, so they won't be able to track you down.

Go and change your number immediately.

What about you? What are you going to do?

You are also in danger.

What is this about? Why won't you tell me anything?

Can't you tell? You are now in danger because of me!

So don't try to come near me.

Mister!

You know that hotel coffee shop?

I'll wait for you there tomorrow. Please come, okay?

Now we don't have each other's number, so you have to come tomorrow.

I wonder why Scale told us Jo Ha Neul was Doctor's Son.

Scale has been discarded by Pusan and therefore he's been absorbed by Doctor's Son.

Also, it could be a message sent to me from Doctor's Son.

If Jo Ha Neul is part of Pusan's organization...

follow him and try to look into Pusan.

That was it. He wanted me to look into Pusan.

Yes, it's me.

- Yes, Team Leader. - Where are you now?

Can't you see me?

So you want me to look into Sky Investment since you couldn't get a warrant.

- I'm asking you a favor. - It's hardly a favor.

I'm definitely going to put them under my microscope.

Make sure you check Jo Ha Neul's shareholdings.

- Okay. - Then.

Team Leader!

I thought you might run away again if I asked you to go out to lunch.

So I brought you some sandwiches.

Please join me.

- Please sit down. - I'm sorry.

I already have plans.

Team Leader!

How on earth did Gyung Mi make him come around?

You probably don't understand

why Scale turned himself in.

Why I had to make those choices.

Why we have to catch Doctor's Son.

You don't know anything.

Yes.

Are you Team Leader Ji Hyung Min?

Who's calling please?

It's me, Doctor's Son.

You won't be able to trace this call, so don't bother trying.

Even without any of that, I can catch you.

Why did you make people think Jo Ha Neul was Doctor's Son?

Was it a message for me?

That's right.

I thought you could figure it out.

You need to thoroughly investigate Director Jo.

I thought as much. Have you started a war with Pusan?

That's right.

You listen to me now.

I didn't kill Detective Lee Gyung Mi.

Don't talk about such nonsense.

That name. Don't you ever say her name.

Okay, then do you think you could catch me?

You... I'm going to get you and kill you!

Then I'll give you a chance to do that.

Come to where I am.

Right now.

Don't forget. I don't want to die by anyone else but you.

Excuse me? What does that mean?

Doctor's Son called you?

I'll tell you the details later.

Get the team out right now without letting Prosecutor Ahn know.

Doctor's Son is here.

Doctor's Son is here.

Escort him in.

Let him in.

Why did you come alone?

Where is your lover?

I brought you a gift.

You must be out of your mind.

You brought this to me as a gift?

Chairman.

The police are here.

So this was it. It was a setup.

- Tell them to stop him. - Yes. Stop him.

You can't go in without a warrant.

Stop, you bastard!

There will be no more deals with you.

Why? Are you going to kill me or something?

Go ahead.

Don't move.

Drop your weapons.

I'll definitely come and visit you in prison.

Who are you?

How are you connected to Doctor's Son?

Are you Pusan?

Yes, Commissioner.

Team Leader Ji just arrested Chairman Jo Yang Soo of Cheonghak Foundation.

Arrested him for what?

For possession of illegal substances.

They found three kilograms of methamphetamine at the site.

Okay, keep an eye on them.

Yes, I will.

This is Commissioner Ji.

There is little problem with Chairman Jo.

Okay. I'll be there soon.

What's going on?

Yes, Director. It's Chairman Jo Yang Soo from the Cheonghak Foundation.

Where did Team Leader Ji get the information to go there?

Chief Yang.

He said Doctor's Son called him.

I've got it.

You are working hard in this hot weather.

We came here to find out what's going on, Director Min.

Chairman Jo of the Cheonghak Foundation is head of Korea's leading historical societies.

How could such a respectable figure be involved in drug deals?

Is the special unit out of their mind?

We still haven't confirmed the details of the incident.

I'll call for a briefing once further details have been confirmed.

[If you want to have a steamy night, please call me.]

Why the hell did you do that?

Why?

We got Chairman Jo.

Did you think we could put him away for that?

I told you to go under Chairman Jo and find his weakness.

Do you plan on having a war with Pusan or something?

Is that it?

The war has begun already.

A war or whatever, all we need to do is to get them behind the bars!

Shi Hyun.

You won't be able to win against them.

I know that I can't win against them.

But what else can I do? I have to do it.

Welcome.

It's 5,600 won.

- Did you hear the new? - What news?

- About Chairman Jo. - You mean Ji Hyung Min arrested him?

You knew. Then do you know anything else?

What about you?

Do you ever know anything?

You don't know it either!

- Me? - What? You know something, don't you?

We'll know once we go inside and listen to him.

What's the news?

We just have to hope that the police will hold Chairman Jo for a while.

From now on, we won't be doing just distribution.

We are going to build our own drug production facility.

In short, that means we are going to be involved in both production and distribution.

Soo, let's buy a production facility from a drug company.

Okay.

I'd like you to be in charge of managing the facility.

That's not a big deal but do you have the chemist?

Jin Sook.

- Locate Professor Jang. - Professor Jang?

But Professor Jang is on Pusan's side.

I confirmed the Incheon gangs circulating Professor Jang's goods.

Okay.

You like Professor Jang. You'll be able to find him quickly.

Okay, I'll look for him.

We don't need Pusan anymore.

I will not allow any contact with Pusan from now on.

Doc. Do we have to go this far?

This is like declaring a war with Pusan.

What's the problem? It's just getting interesting.

- Let's think about it again. - Chairman Jo.

He'll never acknowledge me.

He said he always keeps his word.

I'm going to have to show him that he was wrong.

Is it true that Chairman Jo has been arrested?

That's right.

This is just killing me. What the hell is going on?

Should I be happy or sad?

What are you doing? Did you fall down?

No, I was looking for my lipstick.

What happened to your phone?

I didn't like my number, so I changed it.

Jin Sook, can I ask you something?

- Yeah. - Is Director Jo dead?

Yeah, he's dead.

There was no other way.

Because I hated with a passion that you had to go to him.

I didn't want you to experience something like that.

I know better than anyone how horrible that is.

I know, Jin Sook.

I'm sorry that I asked.

Wow, you look sexy.

What is it? Did you come here to ask me to arrange your funeral?

The burial ground is inside your heart.

For the sake of our old friendship, I'll listen so make it brief and get lost.

Let me ask you one thing.

You know that Chairman Jo has been arrested.

- So? - Was it Doctor's doing?

Ji Hyung Min got him so why are you blaming Doc?

I wonder how Jin Hyung Min knew to go there?

I thought about this long and hard.

Chairman Jo will never acknowledge Doc.

Don't you think so?

I think Doctor, that bastard, is thinking about having a war with Chairman Jo.

So?

Can you hook me up with the Doctor?

If we all want to live peacefully getting along.

So you need to survive no matter what?

For you, I should live a long time.

You can live a long time with that chick who does your field work.

I'm going to tell you this in passing, so listen carefully.

Using your old friendship, go and ask Doc for forgiveness.

I think that's the only way for you to survive.

I'm going to ask you a favor.

Don't make me hate you any more than I do now.

What's going on with the reservations today?

No, my VIP rooms are all taken.

Well, ask the manager to take care of that for now.

Yeah. I think I need to think about that.

Okay. Let's do that for now.

Okay.

Mr. Jo Yang Soo.

How are you related to Doctor's Son?

Fine, I'll explain it for you.

Doctor's Son instigated a coup by pushing out Scale.

To eliminate Doctor's Son, the Pusan organization sent Safari Moon Duk Bae.

But Moon Duk Bae failed.

And on top of that, it was discovered that he was a cop.

So Pusan sent Jo Ha Neul to take care of both Moon Duk Bae and Doctor's Son.

But Jo Ha Neul was murdered by Moon Duk Bae.

In order to enact revenge for Director Jo's death...

The Chairman of the Pusan organization came up to Seoul himself.

And you are the chairman of the Pusan Organization.

But you fell into Doctor's Son's trap once again and here you are in front of me now.

What do you think? Don't you think it's a good story?

Chairman Jo Yang Soo.

When are you going to take your son's revenge?

I'm prosecutor Ahn Byung Jin.

I apologize for any inconvenience it may have caused you, Chairman Jo Yang Soo.

You can leave now.

What's this? Let go of this now!

- This is subordination! - Who's order is it?

Who, huh?

Who's order is it?

If I weren't at a work place... you damn bastard!

Stop. Stop.

You bastard, god dammit!

Why the hell are you doing this?

The arrest warrant was rejected.

What the hell was the reason?

There is no evidence that the three kilograms of methamphetamine belong to Chairman Jo.

Chairman Jo Yang Soo is a philanthropist who is the head of Cheonghak foundation.

The court has decide that there isn't

enough evidence to conclude that he was involved in any drug trafficking.

Hurry up and release Chairman Jo.

If not, you're really going to get hurt.

Then I'll see you later.

It's been a long time.

Please have a seat.

My deepest condolences for your son.

I asked to see you regarding that.

If you catch Safari Moon Duk Bae and Doctor's son

please do let me know.

I'll take care of it so you don't have to do the dirty work.

Okay. I'll talk about this before we have any more misunderstandings.

I'm very sorry about what happened to your son.

But I advise you to quickly take care of any connections between you and your son.

Okay, let's wrap that up there and get on with our business.

Whether you or we catch Doctor's Son

we both need to try our best.

Here, would you like a drink?

Your son is a lot like you.

You'd better take good care of your son.

The taste of this sake is...

Hey, bring me a new bottle of sake.

Is there something wrong?

Why did you change your number?

I did it because I didn't like the number.

You should have asked for a permission before you changed the number!

It's my phone and I told you my new number as soon as I changed it.

I couldn't get in touch with you for 13 hours.

During that time, what to you think went through my mind?

Do you have any idea how worried I was?

If something happens to you, she'll never forgive me.

Gyung Mi won't.

Okay. I'm sorry. It was my fault.

Doctor's Son called me.

What?

Doctor's Son used me.

What are you talking about?

He used me to catch Pusan.

I've failed... failed.

There is bean sprout soup in the fridge.

You can just heat it up before you eat it.

It's not going to be as good as Gyung Mi's but I hope you enjoy it.

I'm sorry.

Safari.

Should we go to Japan?

Eun Soo, do you know why I betrayed the police?

Because of money.

When you realize what you believed to be the best was nothing but crap...

Do you know what you have to do?

You have to be the best yourself.

So you still haven't figured out who President Jung is?

I'm sorry. He's just such an elusive character.

What if he is Doctor's Son?

If you look back on the situation so far, that idea is not so far-fetched.

It's our turn to launch a counter-attack, isn't it?

- Here. - Yes.

It's Prosecutor Ahn's girlfriend. Her name is Han Joo Young.

She's currently unemployed.

The studio apartment they live in is under Han Joo Young's name.

She bought the place recently, which tells us she came across some money suddenly.

Do you think Prosecutor Ahn bought her that?

I doubt it. He never would have put the place under her name.

That means there is a different sponsor.

- Who is that? - Doctor's Son.

- Are these your sister? - Yes, Team Leader.

These are the troubled children I was telling you about.

This is Soo Min. This is Joo Young.

Say hello. He's the team leader of my unit.

Ho, how are you?

Why? Do you know her?

No.

Why did you drink so much? Is there something wrong?

Let go of me!

This is all because of you. You know that?

Tell me honestly. You know who President Jung is, right?

I don't know that either.

Don't try to pull my leg. If you don't, then who does?

Are you guys seeing each other behind my back?

Why are you being like this?

Tell me. Tell me! Tell me!

Without any investigation by the prosecutor's office

all of Jo Ha Neul's shares have been transferred to his wife Suh Ji Hee.

They don't belong to him.

That's what I mean. That's the mystery.

I met with Ms. Suh Ji Hee, but it was little strange.

She didn't seem sad about losing her husband.

A loveless marriage? A strategic marriage for a mutual benefit?

You know what I'm talking about.

I think I need to dig deeper into Suh Ji Hee's background.

I'll be counting on you.

If you follow the money trail, you'll find something.

Okay.

By the way, you are talking away without being drunk today.

I quit.

Thank you for helping me quit drinking.

On that note, why don't we go see a movie?

Let's go. Wasn't it about 30,000 years ago since your last movie?

- I have a plan. - Then I'll see you afterward.

I also have to submit an article.

We can watch a late night showing.

You have to call me. Okay?

- You are here. - What do you want?

Let's go in.

Sit down.

Are you really not going to come back home?

Can you even call that a home?

Usually, a home should have some people's warmth in it?

Then do you feel that warmth in that dead detective's house?

How long are you going mope around, not being able to get over a woman?

Why did you reject Chairman Jo Yang Soo's arrest warrant?

- It's the order by the court. - I'm asking for the truth.

I'm telling you the truth.

Fine. We'll talk about something else.

You knew that Pusan was behind Scale.

That's why you didn't want to arrest Scale.

Are you protecting Pusan's Organization?

Protecting?

Do you think the prosecutor's office is a joke?

Okay, well, I guess since you are a cop...

What do you think the police's job is?

It's probably protecting people.

Then stop what you are doing before any more people get hurt.

That's also how you can protect yourself.

This is advice from your father.

I heard...

you are seeing the daughter of Congressman Cha Myung Suk?

Good luck.

Are you all finished?

I'm sorry. I don't think I can make it out today.

Ah, is that right? Not much can be done, I guess.

I still had quite a bit left to do anyway. It worked out.

We have to watch a movie together next time. Okay?

Hello?

Soo Min.

Yeah, it's my friend Joo Young.

Why did you drink so much?

- Joo Young. - What?

- Joo Young. - What?

I must really love him.

Love? Who?

I miss him. I really miss him.

What am I going to do if I never see him again?

Who is this? Soo Min?

Are you okay? Do you want me to walk you home?

No, I'm fine.

Go on. Don't worry about me.

I was the top dog in the clique 'Bloody Gang.'

Go ahead.

So you want to let him go?

- We can get him again. - He killed my Hye Soo.

It hurts whenever it rains. And when that happens, I always think about Meth Kim.

I'm not going to let Meth Kim to go like this. Really.

You two, get out of here.

Doc, this is the last time.

I'm not going to let him go like this next time.

Thanks.

Hey driver, can I use your phone?

It's me. I'm sorry. Soo that bastard was there.

But you escaped unscathed?

Soo that bastard charged in with a knife but I dramatically escaped.

- Where should I go? - Just go back.

Don't say such a disappointing thing.

You are the bait they set to find me. Do you understand?

Then, did they let me go on purpose?

What the hell?

It's me.

Oh, is it Doc?

Were you going to track me down by letting Meth Kim go?

Where are you now?

You don't need to know that and...

You do know that Chairman Jo has been released.

In this kind of emergency situation, what will you gain from tracking me down?

Right now, if you and I don't work together, we won't survive.

Do you understand?

- Uncle Duk Bae. - Yeah.

Why did you quit being a cop?

There was no special reason. It was all because of money.

You have no idea when you're going to die when you're a cop.

A cop's salary wasn't going to cut it.

Let's stop talking about this.

I have something important to tell you.

It seemed like you wanted to look deeper into it so I checked it out.

You said you wanted to know who killed Detective Lee Gyung Mi.

The one who killed Detective Lee Gyung Mi is...

Chairman Jo.

Chairman Jo killed her?

Let me ask you one thing.

What relationship do you have with Detective Lee Gyung Mi?

It's so unfair that it makes me angry.

I didn't even do it, but I'm getting blamed for it.

That's why I want to find out who killed her.

Chairman Jo... Are you sure it was him?

He was going to kill you and kill a cop to teach the special unit a lesson.

What if someone pushed you from behind? Standing there like that.

Would you be able to do it?

Should I try it?

This place reminds me of the past.

The building and the people have completely changed.

But you and I have survived.

It's been how many years?

Do you come here often?

I come here every year on anniversary of my mom's death.

What a good son.

Your mom, Miss Jung Mi Hee, was an incredible woman.

She was beautiful and had a strong personality.

Jin Sook loved her. She was very close to your mom.

Then why did you do that?

- Did what? - Why did you kill my mom?

I killed Miss Jung Mi Hee?

You are the one who made my mom a drug addict.

And you kept on giving my sick mother drugs.

Have you been thinking that all along?

Is that why you've been trying to get me all along?

I sold drugs to Miss Jung Mi Hee?

Have you ever seen me dealing directly with the drug addict?

We just distributed it just as you and I do.

You are right. The drug I distributed could have ended up in your mom's hands.

Then what about you? What about the drugs you distributed?

I killed Miss Jung Mi Hee?

Where the hell did you hear such nonsense?

I tell you one thing that's absolutely true.

I wasn't going to say this.

But since I have to clear this up misunderstanding...

Your mother was the one who distributed the drugs she got from me.

What the hell kind of bullshit is that?

Doesn't it make you feel confused?

Today is not going to work. Call me after you've sorted things out.

Let's talk again then.

You definitely have to give it to your mom.

You understand, Doctor's Son?

- Okay. - Go on.

What about my pay?

You little rascal.

Here.

Mom! Mom!

What is it?

Mom, my pay.

I said give me my pay.

Mom, wake up.

Mom! Get up!

Okay.

What's going on?

How did my mom die?

Did she die from the shock of the overdose?

Is that right?

That's right.

Okay.

Shi Hyun.

Is it difficult?

Chairman Jo has been released.

I'm worried about you.

If it's too difficult, you can tell me anytime.

You can come back to the police.

Why? Huh?

Why are you doing this to me?

- Shi Hyun. - Do not call my name!

I'm Doctor's Son.

Now, everything is finished.

Shi Hyun!
