that I was abducted.

you briefly tell us

what your experience has been

and when
and where it occurred.

My name is Rachel Hoffman,

and I think I was
abducted by aliens

seven times since 1984.

I'm the mother
of four children,

and I live in Hudson Valley.

I was four years old

the first time
that I was abducted.

I'm one
of four children at the time,

and we were all sleeping
in the same bed together.

And I was
on the edge of the bed

when I felt
something lifting me up.

I felt gravity
with my hair falling backwards

and my nightgown
falling backwards

as I was

taken out of a window

and brought up
into the vessel.

The ship,

it was so cold.
I was freezing.

Every hair on my body was
standing up.

I don't think I was supposed
to see what I saw.

The room had tables,

and the tables had

hands and feet,

arms and legs

that didn't have
bodies attached to them.

Next to that,

there were embryos.

I also saw a fetus in a jar.

I was four years old,

and the fetus was
as big as me.

It looked like
an experiment gone wrong.

When they had me on the table,

they were doing

ultrasounds on my abdomen.

They were poking and prodding.

They were taking

bits and pieces of me.

They were robbing
my body parts,

and they were taking my eggs.

I remember thinking to myself,
"I just want my dad.

I just want my dad."

And then I woke up.

When I was six years old,

I saw an arm

above me of a robot

with a needle in it.

And the needle came down

and began to extract

fluid from the center
of my nose.

When the needle went in,

it felt like it went

straight through my bone
into my brain.

Each time this was done to me,

I didn't even blink.

And I never closed my eyes.

As the needle went back up
into the ceiling of the ship,

I was picked up by the alien

that brought me
back and forth.

I used to call him the butler.

The butler looked like
an octopus out of water.

They have hands
with suction cups.

That's what holds them
to the ship.

The last time
that I was abducted,

I was 13 years old

and I said,

"Who are you

and what do you want from me?"

It was

the loudest voice

I've ever heard.

And it said, "I'm God."

[church bell ringing]

And that was
the last interaction I had.

I was 31 in 2011

when I woke up and felt

a lump behind my ear.

I thought it was cancer.

And so I went
to the medical center

and I spoke
to a lab technician.

After looking at it,
she expressed to me

that they were going to need
to have it excised,

that they weren't able
to perform that there.

She said that it would be

in the realm
of around 30 days.

When I got home,
I started panicking.

My heart was
beating out of my chest.

I had to get whatever this was
out of my body.

And so I took a safety pin

and I pulled as hard
as I could out of my ear.

I didn't know what it was.

I brought it back
to the laboratory.

They didn't know what it was.

It wasn't taken away
from me for further testing,

so I kept it.

It is one thing
to have your body stolen

and have your body parts
robbed from you,

and then to have
something invasively put

inside your body.

It was terrible.

So this all occurred
in childhood

and early adolescence?

Yes.

And what have been
the after effects

in your experience?

It left me with a lot of fear.

It left me
with a lot of... questions.

And [sighs] I guess

I want to advocate for,
like, little me

in a way.

-[Chrissy] Mm.

And I want to go back
and, like, save her

and tell her
everything's going to be okay.

I just need the explanation
of why. I mean...

Because I want answers.

It's hard to live every day

with just not knowing

why you were kidnapped.

your account

as well
as the physical evidence

that you supplied.

Chrissy has examined
the evidence that you sent

with analysts and researchers,

and she is going to have
some answers for you.

the details of her encounter,

Rachel submitted
a small unknown object

that she removed
from her ear for analysis,

which she is concerned may be
evidence of an alien implant

and proof that her memories
of childhood abductions

were real.

What we wanted to ask,
first and foremost, is

what year was it you said

that you had your initial
abduction experience?

It was between 1983 and 1984.

It was in the summer

and it was right before
I started kindergarten.

You know, it's remarkable

because the Hudson Valley is
widely known

around the world today

as a kind of UFO hotspot.

In the 1980s
through early 90s,

about 9,000 reports...

...of UFO encounters emerged

from the Hudson Valley.

I was awakened in my cabin
in upstate New York

by small people
in dark blue uniforms.

New York State's
Hudson Valley has been

one of the critical areas
of UFO reportage.

And the Hudson Valley was,
of course,

the site of the events

described
in Whitley Strieber's
seminal bestseller,

Communion.

The New York Times says
the story is nonfiction.

Our Krista Bradford reports.

That book not only opened
the door

to the Hudson Valley
experiences,

but allowed claimed abductees

to step forward
with their testimony,

in many cases,
for the very first time.

You have brought to the table
physical evidence

which Chrissy
and her colleagues
have examined,

and I'm eager to hear

what you all have found.

with a team of experts

to research UFO databases,

scrub air traffic,

satellite data,

and conduct state-of-the-art
photo and data analysis

of her verified report.

So we received the sample

to the MUFON laboratories

to have it analyzed.

about the analysis

of what we looked at?

and we sent it off
to the MUFON laboratories

to have it analyzed.

for me to talk a little bit
about the analysis

of what we looked at?

Yeah, I'm-- I'm sweating,
I'm shaking, I cannot wait.

[Chrissy]
The MUFON labs conducted

two different tests.

The first one was
a radiation analysis.

[narrator]
Radiation analysis tests

for traces
of radioactive elements

that have been associated
with unknown implants.

So...

no radiation was present.

The second analysis we did was
look at the XRF detection

to see if there was
any metals.

[narrator] XRF,
or X-ray analysis,

is used to identify

the material makeup
of the object

and if any metals are present.

No metals were present.

Okay.

The piece that you gave us...

was actually a plastic crown
from a tooth.

A crown?

A crown, yeah. A tooth crown.

I don't have any crowns.

Is there any other way
that that might have happened

or how that appeared?

I don't-- I have no clue

where that would
even materialize from.

We were baffled, too.

But plastic in my body?

Plastic crown from a tooth.

So my job is to do analysis,

talk to multiple experts,

and try to find an answer.

What it says here is that

this is a plastic crown

and that it is of this Earth.

So I have to go by the data.

[Rachel] I don't understand

the final result.

-I'm trying to wrap
my head around it.

You have traveled
a long distance

to come and speak to us,

and you are entitled

to a blunt assessment.

For my outlook,
I take into account

the data
that Chrissy has analyzed,

the background and credibility
of the witness,

surrounding circumstances,

corroboration, history,

and I try to weave it
all together in one ball,

which informs my decision.

The Hudson Valley
is probably--

ranks just
slightly behind Roswell

in terms
of UFO-reported activity.

The entire abduction narrative
took shape

in the Hudson Valley.

I think there's no question

that the phenomena warrants

the attention
of serious people,

researchers, journalists,
medical authorities,

trauma specialists.

And I do think
that people who have

experienced abduction

have been subject to ridicule.

Based on everything

that I have described
culturally, medically,

historically,

and in terms of listening
to your testimony today,

I believe in the story

that you are bringing
to the table.

And I think
that your experience is

absolutely valid.

At the same time,

this material,
based on our data, is

a piece of mundane,
earthly material.

I didn't expect this.

I'm upset.

I traveled a really long way.

I'm disappointed.

And I'm still looking
for the truth.

It's really stressful for me

to come here,

be as transparent
as I have been,

tell my entire story,

and then have

a scientific piece of evidence
that I provided

not validate my experience.

That was a tough one.

-it's from this Earth...

I know what the cynics are

"Oh, she sent them a tooth.

If somebody was trying
to pull over a fast one on us,

they would work a lot harder
than sending a dental implant,

which is easy
to identify in a lab

and which has been identified.

-But I think there's more
to it than just that.

You know,
I wish I had more data.

I don't know how
or why this wound up

inside of me.

And I'm more afraid than ever.

I think we're still waiting
for that evidence

that really moves
the needle to 11.

My name is Thor Laizans.

I'm from San Clemente,
California.

My name is Yvette Marquez,

and I'm from Catalina, Avalon.

[Thor] I've spent
my entire life out on the sea.

Pacific Ocean is my backyard,

so between diving
and boating, fishing,

I started getting twitchy

if I'm away from the ocean
for too long.

September 13th in 2021,

I was on my way to visit
Catalina Island on my boat,

and I made it
about halfway there,

about 15 miles out.

Something caught my eye.

I don't know
what's going on here.

I don't know what the heck
these things are.

They were like orbs.

It started with three,

and then all of a sudden,
there's two,

and then it'd go down to one,

and they would kind of merge
in and out of each other.

When I first caught notice
of them,

they were about three
to five miles away from me,

and they were probably

the elevation of, like,
a low-flying airplane

when they first appeared.

They looked like
little miniature galaxies

that would fade in and out.

They'd change colors
from orange to black.

Black was the weird one.

It had like a negative light.

You could still see it.

And it wasn't glowing.

But I don't know
how to really explain it.

I was living on my sailboat.

I was anchored right outside
of Catalina Island.

I always kept
my eye out for him

when I knew
that he was coming over.

I saw
what I thought were flares,

except they didn't have
the pattern of flares.

So I called the Harbor Patrol.

I told them
that Thor was coming over,

and I didn't know
if those were flares.

Maybe he was in trouble.

Harbor Patrol was like,
"Well, nobody's calling in."

And they came and parked
next to my boat.

In fact, one
of the Harbor Patrol guys came

with his binoculars.

He's looking and said,

"No, we don't know
what that is.

Those aren't flares."

By then, it caught,
like, a little crowd.

And there was
other boaters looking.

So I called him.

And I was like,

"Hey, do you see
those lights out there?

How far away are you?"

He's like, "Oh, my God.

There's these balls of light.

I'm filming them right now."

[Thor speaking]

[Thor] I went inside my boat.

I got a laser pointer out,

and I started shooting
lasers out at them.

As I'm narrating
through the video,

they were interacting.

They could hear me,

and they like, kind
of responded to my voice.

Kinda trippy though.

Where'd the third one go?
There was three.

I'm like, "Yeah,
there was three of them,

but now there's two of them."

I'm like, "Where'd
the third one go?"

And then all of a sudden,

bink, there's the third one
right there.

Okay, there's the third.

Oh, wow. [chuckles]

They came back.

They dropped down
right above the ocean,

started coming straight at me,

which kind of freaked me out
a little bit.

It's kind of unnerving

to have
these weird glowing orbs,

like, coming straight at me.

They seem to be
coming this direction.

The first thing I see are

these two sets of tracks
walking beside each other

and the tracks just stopped.

Almost kind of like they got
beamed up or something.

We looked at video analysis

and to see if it was faked
or altered in any way and...

we have the results.

[Thor] I don't know what
the heck these things are.

I might have caught
their attention.

They seem to be
coming this direction.

They're actually getting
really, really close here.

Freaked me out a little bit.

It was kind of unnerving

to have
these weird glowing orbs,

like, coming straight at me.

And then at one point,
they disappeared.

They are right above
the water now.

It's gone.

I do not see

anything anymore.

I know there are
things out there

that I believe are not
from this world.

There's something else
out there,

and knowing that,

uh, it's kind of scary.

[Thor] I don't know
what the heck

these things are.

That's an amazing story.

a confirmation

that someone could look
at my video and analyze it.

"Yeah, that's not a flare."

That's not SpaceX launch."

And what do you think of that?

[Yvette] Uh, to me,

it's just very unnerving

not knowing what it is.

I would like
to know what it is.

But in a way, it's kind of...

finding out, like,
the boogeyman is real.

a nine-minute video
of his encounter at sea,

hoping to get an answer
about what they witnessed.

The clip shows what seem
to be three orange lights

that disappear, reappear,
and merge with each other.

Okay, let's take
a look at this.

Can you tell me where you are?

[Yvette] When it happened,
Avalon is right there.

[Chrissy] Yeah.

[Thor] You got mainland,

and you have Catalina Island

-that sits about 35 miles out
from my home harbor.
-[Chrissy] Yeah.

And I was somewhere
right in between those points.

[narrator]
Catalina Island sits

47 miles off the coast
of Southern California.

Thor was traveling
from the harbor

in Dana Point West
towards Catalina

and was about half
or 23 miles from home port

when he encountered
the lights.

What's the direction
you were looking?

I was actually looking
towards the power plant

and the military base,
which was right behind me.

And so where was
your direction?

What were you facing?

I was just outside
of Avalon Harbor, anchored,

and looking straight out
towards Dana Point.

So you know that Catalina is

-very rich in UFO history.
-[Yvette] Mm-hmm.

Have you heard
of the Tic Tac incident?

-[Thor] I have heard
the word "Tic Tac" before.
-[Chrissy] Yeah.

I can't say I know
of the incident, though.

[narrator] In 2017,

the New York Times posted
a thermal imaging video

of a tic-tac-shaped object

filmed by a Navy fighter pilot

off the coast
of Catalina Island in 2004.

The video shed light

on the top-secret
Pentagon program called AATIP,

the Advanced Aerial
Threat Identification Program,

which is tasked with tracking

and analyzing
potential UFO activity

for the U.S. military.

-Where you were was...
-[Yvette] Mm-hmm.

[Chrissy] ...very close

where the Tic Tac incident
happened.

So the first thing
we did was check

the Marine Casualty Database

to see if anybody had
an emergency

or they had to shoot off
an emergency flare.

[narrator] The Marine
Casualty Database logs

all open water emergencies
in the Pacific Ocean.

According to their records
that night,

there were no reports
of trouble.

Chrissy's team also contacted
Camp Pendleton Marine Base,

located 28 miles south
of Dana Harbor.

But they reported
no nighttime military drills

that evening.

There was...

no...

supporting evidence

of parachute flares

-or any military activity
during those times.
-[Thor and Yvette] Mm-hmm.

So then we had
to look at satellite data.

We know
that there's multiple launches

that happened in that area.

[narrator]
Vandenberg Air Base is located

only 155 miles from Catalina

and routinely launches
satellites into orbit.

On September 13th,

the airbase launched
a SpaceX Falcon 9 rocket

containing
51 Starlink satellites.

I did witness that launch
from Vandenberg that evening.

It wasn't until 30 minutes,
half an hour afterwards,

that I started seeing
these strange lights.

-You're right.
It was 25 minutes.
-[Thor] Mmm.

Okay.

[narrator] The SpaceX launch
occurred at 8:55 p.m.,

25 minutes
before Thor's encounter.

Based on the trajectory
of the rocket and the time,

analysts have concluded

that Thor's sighting could

not have been the launch
from the airbase.

[Chrissy] So...

we don't know what it is.

I personally think this is

one of the most
compelling cases

that we've seen.

You got a nine-minute video,

and you had

more than
a dozen witnesses overall.

And based on everything

that you've brought
to the table,

I feel absolutely confident
in saying...

you witnessed a UFO.

That was like a present to me.

of your experience
in your own terms.

Where was it? When was it?

What were the circumstances

that led you to get
this very unusual track?

So...

My name is Chadwick Gales.

[Sondra] My name is
Sondra Gales.

We've been married
for about eight years now,

and we believe we have
found alien footprints.

[eerie music playing]

The first experience
I ever had with a UFO

or anything paranormal

happened about 30 years ago,
when I was 16.

I was hanging out
with a couple of my buddies

at this place
called Betty Knox

in the Chestnut Ridge.

It's a popular
fly fishing spot in our area,

just a long dirt road
beside the creek.

So me and a couple
of my buddies were

back there
hanging out, just...

talking.

Just happened to look up
and notice this...

bluish white orb

just floating
across the treetops.

It's not making a sound.

[eerie music playing]

And we were like,
"What is that?

What is that thing?"

We couldn't believe
what we were seeing, you know?

It was unreal.

And this thing just
floated right across,

floated over the trees,

and then out of sight.

And then it got really quiet.

[music stops]

We sat there for a second,

and we just heard this sound.

It sounded like 20
or 30 people running down

through the woods
towards my buddy's truck.

[footsteps]

And I mean,
this really scared us.

So we jumped in
and we took off.

[engine revving]

[Chad] So ever since
that night,

I kind of do feel like

I'm drawn to Betty Knox
a little bit.

There's something
very intriguing

about that place.

It just compels me
to go there.

So on March 26th, 2021,

it was a Friday
and I had the day off work.

So I figured I might as well
go for a hike.

Of course, back to Betty Knox.

I'd say it was around noon
when I got there

and just looked around
for a while and...

kept hearing...

It was really weird.

It sounded like
an electronic whistle.

It was kind of like
[whistles softly]

Like a whistle
with a buzz of electricity.

I just happened to look over

and I see this sandbar.

I really couldn't believe
what I found. I mean...

I walk over
and the first thing I see are

these two sets of tracks
coming up out of the water,

like these two things walk
beside each other,

up out of the creek
and up the bank.

And then they just
walk everywhere, all around,

kind of like they were
looking for something.

The tracks were 14 inches long

by about six inches wide

with three big toes.

And they were
very creepy looking.

Very creepy looking.

They really looked reptilian
to me.

And I'm
a pretty decent tracker,

so I tried to find a track

to see if they, like,
left up the road,

went over into the woods,

and I couldn't find
where they left

because the tracks
just stopped.

I don't know, it's like--

almost kind of like they got
beamed up or something.

I was like,

I didn't want to leave them

because I was afraid
someone would

come and destroy
all the evidence I found.

And I mean,
this was an incredible find.

You don't find stuff like this
very often.

So I thought to myself,
"I need to cast these."

So the first thing I did,

I started blowing up
Sondra's phone.

She was still at work.

I was just like, "You're not
gonna believe what I found."

I'm sending her
pictures and...

said, "When I get off work,

I'm coming
straight there, so."

Well, the first thing
I saw was

there was three toe tracks

-all over this beach.
-[camera shutter clicks]

[Sondra] I was like,
"Wow, this is different."

And like Chad said,

they didn't have
any rhyme or reason

what they were doing
on that beach.

They were just randomly,
like, all over the place.

[Chad] We started
to pour some casts,

and we're letting them settle.

And I figured
I'd mix up another batch

and do a couple more casts.

So I start mixing it up,
and I hear a car door slam.

[car door slams]

Like, I look up.

Of course, here comes
the game warden.

It's weird, it's like
the guy knew we were there,

pulled right in.

He comes walking over,

looking around,
and he starts...

rubbing out the tracks.

I was like,
"What are you doing?"

I stop-- I screamed "Stop."
I screamed loud.

Dude, this guy stopped
and looked at me

like he wanted to choke me.

Like, "What are you doing?

I'm trying to cast these,

and you're kicking them
all around

trying to cover them up."

And he's just standing there
staring at me, like,

giving me the death eye.

He just keeps staring at me
for a minute.

into his vehicle and he left.

[Chad] Yeah.

We waited for the cast
to settle. We...

pulled all the casts out.

We got six altogether

-that were decent.
-We had to get something.

We wanted these
and just wanted evidence.

[Chad] From
all the anomalous things

we've been seeing in the sky,

finding these tracks,

I'm starting to think

there might be an alien base

somewhere deep
in the Chestnut Ridge.

After a further analysis

by Dr. Jeff Meldrum,

the final conclusion is...

1947 was the opening year
of the modern UFO era,

and it was marked
by three events.

Saucer sightings

by commercial pilot
Kenneth Arnold

in Washington State,

the spotting
of six flying disks

and submersible disks
at Catalina Island

off the coast
of Southern California,

and Roswell, New Mexico,

home of the famous
1947 UFO crash site.

The disk landed at a ranch

in Corona, New Mexico.

And in the ensuing days,

the military
and the government
supposedly covered up

the evidence of this reputed
extraterrestrial crash.

I'm starting to think
there might be

an alien base somewhere deep
in the Chestnut Ridge.

We came here today to find out

if the experts know
what these tracks are,

what made these tracks,
where they come from,

and possibly...

if they could tell us anything

about what they might
want there.

the same questions

if I found tracks
that look like that.

I'm fascinated
with all this material.

[narrator] Chadwick
and Sondra Gale
submitted a cast

as well as photos

of tracks they discovered

in Chestnut Ridge,
Pennsylvania.

Their evidence was analyzed

using archaeological research
and historical data

to determine what sort
of creature might have

created them.

Chrissy has
looked over this cast

and I'm eager
to turn it over to her

and hear what was found.

So I should start off saying

I'm a journalist
in this space,

so my job is to work

and to talk
with multiple experts.

So one of the first things
we do is

cross-reference our time,
date, and location

with multiple databases.

We look at cryptid databases
and we look at UFO databases.

[narrator] While UFO databases
contain research and data

and accounts pertaining
to potential UFO sightings,

cryptid databases deal
with cryptozoology

or the study of unknown,
legendary, or extinct animals.

So we did find

on March 26, 2021,

approximately
200 miles southwest
of that area,

there was a report
of a long, bright object

with no wings

that moved across the sky.

-Fantastic.
-Yeah.

[Chrissy] On the same day,
in the same location,

the witness observed
a luminous object

-in the treetops.
-Oh, wow.

It moved down,
and then it slowly vanished.

-Wow.
-[Chrissy] Yeah.

Then it says here

that unusual sounds were
heard then as well.

-That's like you were
hearing sounds.
-Wow. Yeah.

Can you do it again?

[whistles]

[Chrissy] Amazing.

And that was
in the Newcastle area.

-Do you know where that is?
-[Sondra] Yeah, that's north.

-[Chad] Yeah.
It's north of us, yeah.
-How far is that?

-45 minutes...
well, 50 miles.
-Yeah.

-That's fascinating.
-[Chrissy] Mm-hmm.

We also sent it off
to have it analyzed.

The expert that did
the analysis on this footprint

is Dr. Jeff Meldrum.

He's a Professor of anatomy
and anthropology

at Idaho State University.

He thinks it resembles
a prehistoric biped,

which walks on its toes.

It has a metatarsal pad.

That's great.

So the final conclusion

that Dr. Meldrum said,

it's an emu.

-Really?
-[Chrissy] Yeah.

-Oh.
-Oh, wow.

[Chrissy] Right.

Within our research,

-we found out the Emu farm was
11 miles north.
-[Sondra] Ah.

[Sondra] But did any get loose
during that time?

-They're caged in
to the property.
-Right.

-[Chrissy] Yeah.
-So how could
two of them get out

-and travel that far?
-[Chrissy] So...

We do know that it's located
in the region.

I go by the research

and the analysis.

So I have to say this is
not an alien footprint,

but an Emu footprint.

I know that you guys bring

tremendous credibility
to the table.

You took the tracks.

You consulted
with the game warden.

And over and above all,

I want to emphasize
that you behaved

with impeccable
responsibility.

I think you guys should
write a handbook

about field research.

I wish it was
a mysterious beast.

The data is definitive.

This is not
an alien footprint.

It's an escaped emu footprint.

What you've done goes
a long way

towards helping
people understand

some of this strange
phenomena.

something like this

in the Dunbar Mountains,

would you really think
it was an emu?

it was a little strange

that we could see them
coming up out of the water.

But where'd
they go from there?

They walked around in circles.

And we don't know

where the tracks went
from there.

They don't fly.

So where'd they go?

I'm still going to go out
and look for these things

because I'm not quite sure
that it was an emu.

Well, it was kind of exciting.

You know, the romantic
in me is always happy

when somebody has
a cast of footprint.

Even though
I'm in the UFO field,

I think cryptids are awesome.

I love it when people tell me
stories about cryptids.

It blows my mind.
It also scares me, too.

I want to go camping
with Chad.

-And, uh, I want to go
to all the scary places.
