Kung Fu fighters

to choose the world's

Although lightweight
compared to the others

his unique bird-like spring
is a highly advanced technique

capable of knocking down
his opponents.

There are various schools
of karate in Japan.

However, most schools today
are concerned only

with kata or style.

Tokshinkay, the sponsor
of the tournament

however, is a school
of Kenka Karate.

The fighting karate.

It is karate in its
most practical form.

The principle
of actual fighting karate

to counter attacks with only
the use of bare hands.

The fighters bodies
must be trained to a point

seemingly beyond the limits
of human endurance.

Anyone on the receiving end
of a blow

will easily have
bones broken.

In order to counter this
destructive power themselves

the men must undergo
severe training.

the traditional Japanese drum

was used to signal
the beginning of the matches.

Seiken Shiwari or straight
punch board breaking

is compulsory for anyone

to the number of boards used.

Compound fractures
of the hand at this stage

this form of combat

and other forms such as
