[Faye] And I wanna start
with a pretty obvious one
for you guys.

What were y'alls
[clicks tongue]
favorite vehicles?

Or your one favorite vehicle
from everything
that we worked on.

[Bisi laughing manically]

Whoo!

Oh, mine is easy. Oh.

You know, mine has to do
something with electricity,
of course, right?

I loved the Hotrod Hybrid.

Uh, it's pretty crappy.

[Bisi] It was my favorite
vehicle and if you
remember the myth...

Putting a turbocharger
on a hybrid can improve
fuel economy.

And that car,
when it was done,
it went from like,

-a big zero to a hero
as far as I was concerned.
-[all laughing]

[Bisi] We had turbo
stick out the hood.

It was sounding amazing.

It had fuller system and hence
more opportunities for power.

You did say it was
similar to a nitrous,
but you never let us drive it.

What did it feel like?

[Bisi] Oh, it really was
electric nitrous.

Three, two, one!

You gotta wait
till we say "go".

With a little press of
a button, get that little kick
in the pants,

the little smack in the back.

Time to hit
the electronic boost.
Here we go!

You cannot mess
with technology.

[exclaiming] Oh ho!

So, Faye, what was
your favorite car?

Okay, my favorite vehicle
from the entire first season
of Motor MythBusters

was actually Big Red.

[Tory] I would imagine
that the trailer that
Big Red was towing

would've been your
favorite vehicle.

Yeah, well that was kind of
like, part of the reason too.

It was so much fun
decorating the trailer.

A chicken!
It definitely needs
another chicken.

Okay. Let me explain you
why and then it'll make sense.

Big Red was so faithful to us.

And all we did was load him
down with a bunch of crap

and throw him down
an airstrip.

[Tory laughs manically]

Oh, my God.

-Out of control.
-[Bisi laughs]

And he never let us down,
you know?

What about our trailer?

-I remember the look of horror
and disgust...
-[Tory laughs]

...on Faye's face

when that thing
got obliterated.

Oh, my God.
I, I felt uncomfortable.

-[Bisi laughing] Oh.
-[Tory] Oh, my God.
That looks nuts.

Oh, yeah. Oh, yeah.

-It's going! It's going!
Oh, my God!
-[tires screeching]

[Tory] Would you guys be
interested in retesting it?

-Sorry, Faye,
about your trailer.
-[Faye groaning]

[Tory] Don't worry.
It'll buff out.

-But driving it
ourselves this time?
-No way.

[Bisi] Faye, how did you learn
how to skate so well?

How did you learn to do that?
You're so good.

[Faye] Believe it or not,
I didn't always live in
the great nation of Texas.

-Punch it!
- Actually grew up in
rural New Hampshire.

And there wasn't really
much to do.

Come on, you can go faster
than that.

But we did have this pond
across the street from us.

So like, as kids,
I liked to compete with
the neighborhood boys

and play ice hockey.

And according to my mother,
I skated before I could walk.

-I think I can guess what
Tory's gonna say.
-[laughs]

Tory, is your favorite
car Flintstones?
I just have to ask.

My favorite car was
a 100% Flintstones.

Tory, you have your work
cut out for you over here.

Faye, do you remember
when he was doing that,

- it was hour after hour.
-[Faye] Oh, my God, yeah.

And I don't even know
what happened to him,

it's like some sort of spirit
took over his body.

[imitating caveman grunts]

He just really became
the role, shall we say.

[continues imitating]

-Hey, I'm a method builder.
-[Bisi laughs]

[Faye] Here comes...

[Bisi] I mean,
just taking it from,

you know, a cartoon
and building it in
the three-dimensional world,

-[Faye] No!
-[Bisi and Tory laughing]

[Faye] We pour it
nice and slow.

[Tory] It was more
of a work of art

than it was building a car,
you know what I mean?

Like, there was so much
sculpture involved
with the chassis.

And then, the construction
of the wheels.

So many different techniques
of fabrication.

[Faye] Definitely, like,
I definitely learned a lot
of new skills on that build.

[Tory] Look at this
for a second.

-It's awesome.
-It's coming together.

I mean, you just couldn't deny
how close it looked
to the cartoon.

It was like, my childhood
dream come true.

It still makes me smile
every time I see it.

-Here it is, in its glory.
-[Bisi] Tory.

-That's amazing.
-[both laugh]

-[Bisi] Look at these things.
[laughs heartily]
-[Faye] I know.

-The feet she made,
that was amazing.
-[Tory laughing]

That's so freaking cool.

I think I'm gonna start making
those for Halloween.

-[Faye] Are those to scale?
-[Bisi laughs]

[Tory] Pretty much.

The fact that
we got it to roll just--

It blew my mind.
I mean, nobody had
any faith in this thing.

They thought it was
gonna be too heavy.

-Look it, it's working.
-[Bisi] Oh, it's moving.

[Tory] We'll get it
working in no time.

But the crazy part is when
we took it out onto the road
and got it up to speed...

[cheering] Yeah!

This is the weirdest thing
I've ever seen.

And then the back wheel
just completely blew out.

[Tory laughing manically]

-[Bisi] Oh, no!
-[Tory] Oh, my God.
We split the wheel.

That's awesome.

[Tory laughs]

[man] Al right.
Look at that beauty.

Guys, you know what was
so appealing in this show,

is that we had
the opportunity to build
so much wonderful stuff.

I feel like a mad scientist.
All right.

[Bisi] You remember
the miniature wind tunnel
we put together?

-[Tory] Look at that.
-[Bisi] That is beautiful.
That's exactly what we want.

And we even
mimicked trailer sway
on a small treadmill.

-[Bisi] Oh, my goodness.
-[Tory] I think you would be
having a heart attack.

-[Bisi] Yes, I would.
-[Bisi and Tory laugh]

[Bisi] I'd like to hear
the favorite things
you guys built.

Out of all the weird and wacky
things that we've built,

doing the Van Chop, to me,
was one of the coolest builds.

-Think, you know,
if we get really low.
-[Bisi laughs]

I mean, that's how
hotrods did it, right?

I mean, that was the myth that
chopping a vehicle's top

will increase
the vehicle speed.

And so, to be able to
actually chop that van...

and learn
how to do it correctly,

I mean, it blew my mind.

I'd never done a chop before.

In my mind, I was like,
"Let's just cut it in half,

take a section out..."

[laughs hysterically]

"...drop it, weld it
back together."

But there is so much artistry
and so much craft
that goes into it.

It's just like making sure
the steel's lining up.

Making sure the form,
the top of the van,
is perfect.

It's more like sculpting
than it is fabricating.

[Faye] There's a lot of skill,
a lot of talent,

a lot of time,
a lot of patience
that goes into that job.

[Bisi] Oh,
she's ready to drive.

-We gotta chop, chop.
-Yes, we do, sir.

[Tory] Dude, look at how much
headspace we have in there.

-[Tory laughs]
-[Bisi] Wow.

[Tory] This thing
is so cool looking!

[Bisi] It was just
a beautiful car.
Beautiful, beautiful indeed.

- I loved it.
-[Tory] And you didn't think
we'd be able to

see out the windshield.

All we needed was four inches.

Are we gonna die?

Those old-timers knew
what they were talking about.

-Chopping your car will
make you go faster.
-[Bisi] Absolutely.

I was blown away by that.
Good choice, Tory.

From a build
process perspective,

I loved, absolutely loved,
putting together with you guys

Poor Man's Turbo.

He took this soda can tab
and a bin wire,

connected to the vacuum line,
pulls it.

-[exclaiming] Oh!
-[Tory] Hey, it works!

-It increases boost like crazy
and mayhem happens.
-Oh.

-Oh!
-Oh, it's smoking!

[laughing]

[Bisi] Yay! Look at that!

It was dirty, it was,
it was smelly.
It was just painful.

When we ripped everything off,

did some very creative
lightning of the chassis.

Look, it's running.
Here's the battery.

[Bisi] With a K-gen,
a turbo system.

It's starting to look like
a Mad Max car.

[Bisi] The inner cooler,
the new, large, shiny
high flowing carburetor.

[Tory laughing]
Isn't that beautiful?
It's so beautiful.

Absolutely gorgeous.

Here we go.

Got it down in
the first start up.

[Bisi laughing]

This sounds great.

It was perfect.

And I've gotta say,
it definitely sounded
the part.

[engine revving]

[laughing] My God.

-That sounds amazing.
-[Faye] It does.

Best sounding Monte Carlo
in the world.

[Tory] Yeah. That thing
was a beast.

[engine revving]

It had the
[imitating revving],
it was so-- And then it--

It sounded so good.

[engine revving]

Oh, my God.

My heartrate just went
like, through the roof.

[Bisi] And then...

That's gonna be
[bleep] awesome.

...I had the unique
opportunity to take

the Monte Carlo on
its maiden voyage...

[Tory] Peel it!

[Bisi] ...around the complex.

[Tory] Unreal.

-Whoo!
-Yo!

[Bisi] Seeing how
poorly it ran,

and got it to a car
that did triple digits
in miles per hour...

[Tory] Hitting the nitrous.

[shrieks] Ah-ha-ha!

Oh, he must hit the nitrous.
Look at that.

Wow, that's like a builder's
dream to be able to take

something that was
nothing and create
something marvelous from it.

[Tory screaming excitedly]
One! Oh, my God!

And it looked the part, too.

[Faye] And that was
our first build.

So, Faye, I'm curious.
Yours. What was your
favorite build process?

I was trying to come up
with something like different,

but I can't help but also say
Big Red again.

-I am sorry. I don't know!
-[laughs]

[Faye] I really loved building
the training wheels.

-You like it?
-Yeah. Yes.

We had to make
those training wheels
for Big Red

so that he didn't tip over.

Especially, while you guys
were in it.

-I say, flip the truck.
Who cares?
-[Faye laughs]

Well, no. My friends are gonna
be inside the truck.

You don't have more friends?

I had so much fun
on that project.

[Faye laughing]

And I got to work, like,
side by side with Rose,
who gave me a ton of tips.

-How satisfying is this?
It's like very pleasing.
-It's oddly satisfying.

[Faye] Rose was teaching me
some techniques on like,
improving my welding.

Not exactly like, you know,
stacking dimes. But...

-That looks great.
Yeah. Sure.
-Should I do it here, too?

It was one of my favorite days
in the shop. Like...

which is what I loved doing.

So, like, my fondest memories
are from that build.

So I can't help but choose
that one. [chuckles]

Whoops, Big Red again.

Oh, my God. What?

[Bisi] So, this is
a smoke leak tester.

[Tory] We covered so many
different builds

and we used a lot of
different equipment
during that.

Do you guys have a favorite
tool or piece of technology

that we used during
the season?

Oh. If Bisi doesn't say
the chainsaw...

The look on your face
when you were using that
chainsaw for the first time,

just seems like you're
just really becoming
one with the wood.

[Bisi] Believe it or not,

-it is injector tester
and cleaning device or tool.
- [Faye] Oh.

That thing was
absolutely perfect.

It had clean tubes
for me to view
the atomization of fluid

coming out each injector,

and be able to compare
one injector to the other.

And that tool was
very important to me
'cause I wanted to use it

to find the best
injector combination

for the hotrod hybrid.

So, I have three
injectors here, factory,

a cost-effective aftermarket
and a premium aftermarket.

That was something that
I find so much joy in
operating every time.

I'm gonna place this injector
in the machine

and see what the factory
atomization looks like.

So, we can see
the spray pattern there
has a decent atomization.

But you can see the pentil
gives a V-shape.

So, that's okay.

When you connect everything
and put it together,

you can see a very nice
spray pattern

and see if you have
an injector that
can help you...

This flows the same as this.

But it's more expensive.

So let's see if the expense
is worth it.

[beeps, machine starts]

[Bisi] Oh. Look at that.

It has a slight 'V' to it,
which means the spray pattern
is very nice,

very concise.

...or hurt you.

This is a common
L-style injector.

It's a favorite of many
enthusiasts because
it's very cost-effective.

Wanna see how this one looks.

[beeps, machine whirrs]

[laughing] Oh, my God.
Look at that.

That looks like a water hose.
This is...

[chuckling] This may flow
a lot to support our needs
for the turbo system,

but I'm not liking
how this looks in terms
of spray pattern.

It was just a machine
that was full of wonderment.

-And I--
-Did you just say
"full of wonderment"?

-Yep, full of wonderment.
Absolutely.
-[Tory laughing]

I mean, you can see,
you can hear,

you have
the clicking going on,
you can see the tube,

you can see the fluid flow,

you can measure how much
fluid is coming out
each injector,

you can balance them.

You can back purge it.

-I mean, it-it...
-Full of wonderment!

It had so much going on
it's perfect.

[Faye] What about you, Tory?

I think probably
my favorite tool

was the giant concrete
vibrating rod.

[all laughing]

[Tory] Basically, you shoved
it into the concrete.

and it just caused all
the air bubbles to come out.

What a tool.
Like, that's all it's for?

Getting concrete to compact.

There we go.

This is a hard one
'cause we use so many
rad tools on set, but...

I've gotta go with
the acetylene torch.

And here, and here's
the reason why.

As you remember,
in the first episode,
Poor Man's Turbo,

I was daintily, carefully
removing the fenders

and removing the door,
you know, with hand tools
by hand.

And then, you came in...

-Oh, my God.
-...with the forklift!

And with the torch!

-What the...
-[Bisi] That is a fire!

[Faye] And we're just like,
destroying everything.

[screams]

I was just like, "Wow."
Like, "This is not something
that I'm used to."

And by the end,
I had come around
to the acetylene torch.

Oh, that is [bleep] sweet.

[Faye] And Rose was
teaching me some techniques.

Torch Doctor Extreme.

[Faye] By the end,
I really felt like

I was learning to
appreciate it.

So, that's why I chose it
for my favorite tool.

-[Bisi laughing manically]
-[Faye laughing]

[Tory] Ooh, yeah. Ooh, yeah.

All right, which one
of the myths
was your favorite?

[Faye] I would have to say
the UFO myth.

[Tory] Close encounters
is a classic.

[Faye] I actually don't
believe in aliens at all.

[Tory] I mean, what
could've caused the gauges
to react that way?

[Bisi] Some kind of electric,
magnetic force?

Be gentle. This is our baby.

[Faye] I have a personal
investment in that myth.

[Tory exclaims] Oh.

-Go ahead.
-[Tory and Bisi scream]

-Wow, nice job.
-[Faye] Oh, my God...

Bisi, what was your
favorite myth?

-Well, you may think
this is shocking.
-Oh.

-But it was actually
the Casino myth.
-Oh!

Oh!

As chemical engineer,

it was really interesting
to see how

mitigation can occur
with certain materials.

[Tory] Let's see
if this works.

Fingers crossed.

[Bisi] And what kind
of materials...

Fire in the hole!

...could absorb
the energy created.

[Faye] Three, two, one, go!

-[Bisi screaming] Oh!
-[Tory laughing]

-[Bisi] Huh.
-[Tory] Look at that.

[Bisi] It looks like they
all worked well.

[Tory and Faye
laughing excitedly]

[Faye] Oh god, he's heavy!

So awkward.

-Who needs hair?
What color? Easy.
-I got this one.

Tory, where did you find
that weird wig?

[all laughing]

[Tory] Oh, you look great.

-You guys ready?

-[Tony] You need to change

For me, it was surreal...

...two...

...to feel that shockwave.

...one!

-[loud explosion]
-[all exclaiming] Oh!

[Bisi] You feel it.
You feel it in your chest,
you can feel it, that boom.

-You feeling the ground...
-[Faye] It was just...

[stutters] It was a cool day.

-That was beautiful.
All right.
-That was amazing.

-[Faye] Oh, my God!
-[Bisi] Oh, my goodness.

Just watching the pure joy
that I brought you guys was...

it made me happy.

But I would say,
my favorite myth
of all of them was...

and it was not the more
pleasant one,

it was, "Can putting
urine in your radiator
keep your engine cool?"

Oh. Feel bad already.

[Faye laughing] So gross.

I almost lost my lunch
multiple times
during that myth.

[Tory] Trust me,
it's just as gross for me
as it is for you.

Oh, yeah. Okay.

-[Tory] This is so gross.
-[Bisi laughs]

[Tory] If you're in
an emergency situation,

you can actually cool
your engine down.
I mean, I love that.

Oh, look at that.

Because you can actually
use it in the real world.

-All right.
-[Bisi] Engage.

[Tory] We had our Tyvek suits.

But once that engine
started heating up.

-[both laugh]
-Oh, my God.

[Tory] And the urine steam
got into the cap.

It was, you couldn't avoid.
It was so disgusting.

[Bisi] And Tory, it was
bad enough when
we were driving it,

the type of smells
that we perceive...

[Tory] This is a good
testament to urine.

...imagine what the pit crew
team had to do and what
they had to endure.

I didn't have to imagine,
Bisi. I was there.

[all chuckling]

How's it going, you guys?

[man] Oh, we're about to
take a milk bath.

[Tory] I think one thing that
the audience doesn't really
get to see, is the fact that

in between the tests,

we had to flush the engine,
replace the radiator.

-Oh? Oh...
-[man] Oh.

[Tory] That is rancid.

I could not imagine
us being able to pull this off
without the team that we had.

[Rose] We just wanna
take a minute to thank

Uh, car's running real good.
Smells funny.

But, you know, it's been
a great day at the track.

We had the most incredibly
skilled, diverse build team.

Each one of these people
brought so much of their own
energy, enthusiasm,

talent, skillset.

We wouldn't have been able
to get done what we needed
to get done without them.

[Faye] So, so true.
I loved working side-by-side
with Rose.

We're gonna split this thing,
these need to go
more inboard,

-while this heads outboard.
-Yeah.

She was a great teacher

and her knowledge of
metal sciences and metallurgy.

At the end of, even just one
of those builds with her,

I felt like I actually could
do that stuff on my own.

[Bisi] I agree with you, Faye.

And the fact that we worked
together intimately on
the Poor Man's Turbo

was absolutely a joy.

-That's great. That's awesome.
-Oh, my god.

And she brought a lot
of skills to the van shop.

That looks--
Oh, my God, that is cool!

[Tory] Like,
that's ridiculous.

I mean, we couldn't have
done it without her.

This gives it strength
so that it's dent resistant.

So it has
dimensional stability.

So it gives it a little bit
more structure?

-Yeah.
-Good.

And speaking of skillsets
though, just absolutely
amazing, Davis.

-Oh, my gosh.
-Oh, my God.

[Bisi] I have a good knowledge
of things that are
electronic in nature.

This gentlemen just takes that
and pushes it to the limits.

Well, we've got a working
servo mechanism

I think we're ready
to blow up the sky.

-[Tory laughing]
-[Bisi screaming] Oh!

-[Tory and Faye laughing]
-Oh, my goodness!

Dave has really stepped up
to the challenge

when we had to do
Big Red's trailer sway.

This accelerator
is very touchy.

And he took over
the remote controls.

-I think you should drive.
-I just promoted Davis.

The pressure has been
ramped up about tenfold.

[Tory] 40 miles an hour.

Obviously, building this was
one thing, but driving it
in the moment,

is a whole another story.

[Faye] It's going! It's going!

-[Bisi] And guys, Dave Cannon.
-Yes.

[laughing] Oh, ho, ho!

He is literally the epitome
of jack of all trades.

It's the Dave of all trades.

[Faye] He tap dances,
he paints,

he operates heavy equipment.

Like Peter Pan!

[Faye] He welds,
he works with wood.

I mean, what does he not do?

And we can't forget Mario.

He was another hotrod builder

who helped us with
the hotrod hybrid
and the chop.

I mean, it was just
the perfect combination
of people

to get this show done.

And I just wanna thank
you guys.

-[Faye] Yeah.
-I'm really glad we got
a chance to catch up.

And it gives us an opportunity
to thank our fans.

And we wanna hear
your myths, too.

[Tory] All right. Real quick,
before we end this,

a myth that we didn't
get to test but you would
love to test.

[Bisi] On the whole
EV spectrum,
which I love so much...

Ooh, I definitely feel
the torque.

Yeah, it's nice, isn't it?

...I know about this myth
where there's this vehicle
in a quarry

that could get filled up
with quarry rock,

come down the hill,

use regen to charge up

and then, with that charge,
go back up and get more rocks.

-[Tory] I love that.
-And never has to get charged.

-You'll love this, Tory.
-I love this idea.

[Bisi] Never has to ever go
to a charging station.

Can that happen?

That's a great one, Bisi.
What about you, Faye?

[Faye] I would love
to do underwater EV,
larger scale.

I wanna crash in
the back of a Pinto
and see if it explodes.

Like I heard about when I was
a kid growing up.

-Oh.
