Original subtitles

I'm Ky Stax, a Kairu Champion.

I race around the world seeking out Kairu.

Lokar has unleashed a dangerous Kairu: Shadow Kairu.

Shadow Kairu X-Drives contain powerful new attacks

and monstrous warriors.

We must master both types of Kairu

to save the Earth from Lokar's Shadow.

My quest is to conquer the Kairu...

To one day become...

A Redakai!

[thunderclaps and rumbling]

At last, my masterpiece is complete.

And with it, I shall bring about destruction

unlike anything the Earth has ever seen.

And now the beginning...

of the end.

[beeps]

[power up]

[thunderclap]

[evil laugh]

This weather looks exactly how I feel.

What's there to feel good about?

Master Baoddai's getting weaker every day.

And we still haven't found an antidote to Shadow Kairu.

When we had rainy days on Nervod,

my mom would make cookies to cheer us up.

Look! They're shaped like Team Stax.

Thanks, Mookee.

But even cookies couldn't cheer me up today.

Well, it used to rain almost all year long on Nervod,

so I have plenty of other ideas.

Who wants to play Sploonk Ball?

[crash]

Did you guys hear that?

Yeah. Was it thunder?

No. Sounded more like...

[footsteps overhead]

someone's on the roof!

It could be Team Tiro.

You know how those guys like to goof around.

Maybe. But it could also be E-Teens.

We'd better check it out.

Don't worry, friends; I'll keep the cookies safe.

[falling rain]

Maybe our bad mood is making us hear things.

[whoosh]

I don't think so. Whatever it is, it's still up there.

Come on.

[grunt]

Easier said than done.

[whoosh]

Over there!

Was that the X-Scaper door?

Yeah. Which means whoever's here is inside.

It's locked.

You were right, Ky.

This must be some kind of E-Teen sneak attack.

E-Teens aren't the only ones who can be sneaky.

We'll drop in on them from the hatch.

[sigh]

Here we go again.

[grunts]

Surprise!

Ekayon!

Thisis a surprise!

We thought we were under attack by E-Teens,

but this is way better.

Sorry for the prank,

but it's been so long since I've seen you guys,

I had to have a little fun.

It's great to see you again.

And we could use some fun around here.

I've been doing the best I can to cheer them up,

but nothing seemed to work until you dropped in.

So, lone Kairu warrior, spill.

Yeah, what are you doing here?

Master Atoch wanted me to visit.

He's been worried about the spread of Shadow Kairu

and Master Baoddai ever since the tournament.

Baoddai: You can tell your Master

that I am doing as well as can be expected.

But thank Atoch for his concern.

I will, Master Baoddai.

And now to the matter at hand.

I have just detected pure Kairu in the country of Bhutan.

Nothing like a Kairu quest to beat the rainy day blues.

Indeed.

Will you come with us, Ekayon?

Of course, Maya.

And the best part is, we can catch up along the way.

Then what're we waiting for?

Let's get questing.

Very good.

But be extra cautious.

These are dangerous times.

... and then the boat dropped out from under me

and I somehow managed to snag a vine

and swing away with the Kairu.

But what happened to the Hiverax?

Last I saw them they were hanging over a raging waterfall

from a very small branch.

I'm sure they figured something out

since they practically share the same brain.

And the same hairstyle.

The real Kairu Challenge is not laughing at those bowl cuts.

[laughter]

[beeps]

Mind if I take the wheel, Boom?

All right, hotshot, but this is a tricky landing area.

Don't say I didn't warn you.

Oh!

Remember, Ekayon, you love the X-Scaper.

You wouldn't put a scratch on her, would you?

No! I mean, not on purpose.

[shrieks]

[shouts]

See? Nothing to worry about.

Not even a scratch.

[gasps]

Glad to see you haven't changed a bit, Ekayon.

Wait!

We're going the wrong way.

I can sense the Kairu in that direction.

I forgot how handy it was

to have your very own Kairu detector on the team.

Yeah, these boys would be completely lost without me.

โ™ช

[crackling]

Huh?

What is that?

It looks like some kind of energy blast.

I've never seen anything like it before.

[explosion]

Whatever it is, it's powerful.

We'd better get to that Kairu

before the bad feeling I have gets even worse.

Come on!

[beeping]

Sounds like we're close, guys.

[beeps]

That tree!

It must be holding the Kairu.

["wow" whistle]

This is not going to be easy.

Then we'd better get on it.

Wait.

Something's changed.

I feel a darkness.

I'm sensing...Shadow Kairu!

But how can that be?

Master B said we were tracking pure Kairu.

Maybe there are two deposits?

Whatever's going on, it's definitely weird.

But it's still Kairu and we need to collect it.

Teeny: Then you're going to have to fight us for it!

Sounds like a plan to me.

Hey, no fair.

They brought a friend.

What's the matter, Team Stax?

Are these quests becoming too much for you

to handle on your own?

Boomer: The more the merrier.

That's how we roll.

Yeah. Especially when it comes to kicking Imperiaz butt.

Tough talk for a gal who wears that hair with those boots.

Kairu Challenge!

[thunderclap]

Challenge accepted.

โ™ช [battle theme]

You'll need more than your lame buddy to stop us.

Hurricade!

Grindoid!

Spindrel!

[roar]

We'll just see about that.

Metanoid!

[roar]

Harrier!

[roar]

Froztok!

[roar]

Statikor!

[roar]

[crashing thunder]

Kairu Whirlwind!

Uh-oh.

Here comes the express ride to the bottom.

Get behind me.

Electro Burst!

OK. That was awesome.

That was supposed to finish them.

Why don't you mind your own business, Ekayon?

Let's bring it to them, fast and hard.

Titan Strike!

[shouts]

Ready, Boomer?

Whirlwind!

[shrieks]

Try this fierce combo.

Tidal Force!

Ha!

[shouts]

[laugh]

Way to go, guys.

You know, Ekayon?

You're pretty handy to have around yourself.

That leaves us with just one little challenge:

getting the Kairu from that tree.

[grunts]

It's no good.

We need to get closer to get the Kairu.

[grunts]

Ky, watch out!

Whoa!

Boomer: Ky!

Aaaah!

[grunts]

You know what?

I don't think that tree is very friendly.

So what now?

We didn't come all this way to let some tree push us around.

Where there's a will, a Kairu warrior will find a way.

You're right.

And there's our "way."

We use each other as ropes

and lower the lightest one of us to the tree

to collect the Kairu.

Fine. I'll get the Kairu from the scary tree.

[grunt]

You know?

I just realized.

It doesn't matter if the lightest one... [grunts]

is on the bottom.

Just a little lower, Boomer.

Great! That's it. It's working!

Just a little more--

Ah!

Maya! We aren't really made of rope, you know.

X-Reader's full. Pull me up!

[grunt]

[panting]

[yawn]

Talk about a workout.

I think you guys need to lay off the cookies.

I'll never forget this quest.

The first time I had to battle E-Teens and a tree

to get the Kairu.

Um, I think I was the one battling the tree,

thank you very much.

The important thing is we have an afternoon to just chill out.

Anyone up for a dip in the swimming hole when we get back?

That sounds great.

What do you say, buddy?

Ky? You OK?

I don't know.

Something just isn't right.

What do you mean?

First, Master B told us we were tracking pure Kairu.

Then we saw that weird black streak in the sky.

And now we have Shadow Kairu.

It can't be a coincidence.

But it's impossible to change energy from one form to another.

Isn't it?

Unless somehow Lokar's involved.

Then anything's possible.

You're right. We'll definitely need to tell Master Baoddai

about this as soon as we get back.

[beeps]

Looks like we won't have time to chill.

We have more Kairu to collect.

Strap in, everybody.

We're going in.

Maya, are you sure that what you're sensing is pure Kairu?

As far as I can tell.

Up there! I see something.

Some pioneers must have had a flat a long time ago.

Nice one, Boom.

Now let's nab the Kairu before we get any weird surprises.

[gasp]

It's the black energy. It's back!

And there's even more of it than there was before.

Um, guys?

I think it's turning this way.

Ky: Quick! Everybody scatter!

[explosion]

[crackling]

No way.

The beam turned the pure Kairu in the wagon wheel

into Shadow Kairu.

I think Ky was right.

Something's seriously wrong here.

And it has Lokar written all over it.

Excellent.

All is finally going according to my plan.

[thunderclap]

[evil chuckle]

Ky: Master Baoddai will want to examine the Kairu

to try and figure out how Lokar's doing this.

Well, well.

If it isn't Team Stax and...

You.

Ekayon: Hey, Zane.

Haven't seen you since that lava pit in Iceland.

Was it tough to get the ash out of your clothes?

You were lucky.

But this time will be different,

even with your pals to back you up.

Kairu Challenge!

Challenge accepted.

[whistling wind]

[thunderclap]

Bruteron!

[roar]

Shadow Sword!

[roar]

Agh!

[grunt and moan]

He's ours now!

Grappler!

Maneglor!

[roars]

I don't understand why you're still angry.

All's fair in the hunt for Kairu, right?

Wrong.

Paralyzing Blast!

[shouts]

It was very hot in that pit.

I'll give you a taste.

Massive Brimstone!

Metanoid!

Energy Harpoon!

[explosion]

That's one I owe you. Thanks.

Let's give them some room, Boomer.

Leave some for me.

Harrier!

Froztok!

Wind Blast!

Cleansing Strike!

Righteous Light!

Righteous Strike!

[explosion]

Ha! Not fast enough.

Shadow Flash!

[moans]

Time to join the party.

Statikor!

Lightning Blade!

[scream]

[growl]

This isn't over.

Radikor Rage!

[crash]

[moan]

Time to fight shadow with shadow.

Direwulf!

[roars]

[galloping hooves]

Oblivion Blast!

Surprise him with the old shadow maneuver; I like it.

[defeated growls and sighs]

And I like you taking down the Imperiaz and the Radikor

in one day.

You don't fool around, Ky.

No time to pat ourselves on the back.

We need to get that Kairu back to the monastery.

Yeah. Let's get out of here before

any more shadow energy lands on us.

โ™ช

[whoosh]

โ™ช

[beeps]

[Tibetan bell]

No! It cannot be.

What is it, Master?

This Shadow Kairu was once pure Kairu.

Lokar must have at last completed the evil plan

he was working on when his lair was destroyed.

This gives him an advantage the Redakai have not foreseen.

We must find a way to stop this before it's too late.

Uh, I know I'll regret asking,

but what happens when it's "too late?"

Lokar wins. It'll be the end of our planet.

Huh.

We won't let that happen.

I shall confer with the other Masters

and we will come up with a plan at once.

For now, you have all done well. Rest.

If Master Baoddai says to rest, then I guess we have to listen.

You still up for seeing that swimming hole, Ekayon?

Sure, Boomer.

You are not satisfied, Ky?

We don't have time for the Redakai

to come up with a plan, Master B.

Lokar has this energy beam and he's using it now.

We need to do something immediately.

Perhaps there is a way.

Kairu legend speaks of a mystical place

that may hold the key to defeating Shadow Kairu.

Where, Master Baoddai?

I only know that it lies somewhere

beneath the Aurora Borealis.

But no Redakai has ever made it there successfully

and I fear that it is far too dangerous a destination

for a young warrior like you.

In fact, it would be the most difficult quest of your life.

But I don't care how difficult or dangerous it is.

If there's a chance to beat this Shadow Kairu, I have to take it.

You are very brave, Ky.

But there are other ways to deal with Lokar

and his twisted form of the energy,

ones that do not involve putting you in jeopardy.

No, you shall not go.

Join your friends.

The Redakai will handle this.

Yes, Master Baoddai.

Sorry, Master Baoddai, but this is one journey I have to take.

The fate of the world depends on it.

โ™ช [orchestral]

โ™ช

Ky: Ekayon's Electro Burst attack is amazing!

It's a strong attack with some great side benefits.

But it still isn't as good as Boomer's Righteous Strike combo.

By merging Cleansing Strike and Righteous Light,

he can smack down the Radikor!
