-The two men charged by the RCMP are Matthew Althorp,

a 28 year old from Thorold, Ontario,

and Christopher Nipack a 25 year old from Toronto.

-Matthew Althorp and Christopher Nipack

were picked up late 2023 facing a range

of charges related to their activity

with the Atomwaffen division.

Specifically for their previous involvement

in the production of Atomwaffen propaganda.

-There is concern in law enforcement communities

that Atomwaffen's adherents have the ability and intent

to carry out attacks here.

-Cops are alarmed.

The gang, Atomwaffen,

who they thought had been disbanded in 2020,

is alive, resurrected by the TerrorGram collective.

-Terrorgram is basically a network of channels on Telegram,

where accelerationist Neo-Nazis posts messages,

encouraging acts of terror.

They will often share material about

how to attack public infrastructure,

attack the power grid,

to plunge areas of the country into darkness.

-The Neo-Nazi accelerationist group dissolved

after there was a campaign from the US State Department

to designate them as a terrorist group.

Or so the government thought.

-These Neo-Nazis called their group Atomwaffen.

-The Atomwaffen Division has been responsible

for a wave of murders across the country,

which has done maybe more than any other group

to spread the accelerationist cause and philosophy.

-On Terrorgram,

cops find messages and violent recruiting videos.

But Atomwaffen technically shouldn't exist.

-Law enforcement really went after Atomwaffen division

and arrested some of its kind of top figures.

-In 2020, James Mason,

the alleged adviser of the Atomwaffen division

had publicly announced the gang had disbanded.

-On the evening of March 9th of this year, I was approached

by members of the group known as Atomwaffen Division...

-The implication is terrifying.

Did Atomwaffen go away?

Or did it just go underground?

-It's important to note that groups will disband, restart,

will change their name,

but the ideology is still present,

and the people who believe in this ideology are still present.

As long as there are young men

who are drawn towards violent white supremacism,

they will continue to join these types of groups.

-Like Nathan Hale said, I regret

I have only one life to give for my country.

So you better make it count.

-Atomwaffen is the brain child of Brandon Russell,

a member of Florida's National Guard.

-Atomwaffen Division was founded in October 2015.

Brandon Russell, the founder,

was 22 when he created the group.

-Brandon Russell is kind of a rich white kid

who lived in the Bahamas.

His dad was a deputy sheriff in West Palm Beach.

Around the time that he forms Atomwaffen division,

he also joins the Florida National Guard,

which is very common among Neo-Nazi accelerationists.

struggled with ADHD and depression

and just kind of struggled socially in general,

which is a very common characteristic of the people

that were attracted to the Atomwaffen division.

-Russell targets young white males and gamers.

-The average Atomwaffen division member is

a young white male, probably middle class,

quite bright, curious.

Very often, struggling with diagnosed

or undiagnosed mental health issues.

-Video games like Minecraft and first person shooters

are places that groups like Atomwaffen Division target

specifically to get at teen boys.

So one of the other tactics that Atomwaffen did

was create videos

that mimic the world of first person shooter games.

-He quickly begins to amass an army of white supremacists.

-The concepts behind Atomwaffen are

that society is irredeemable.

Society has to be destroyed.

Accelerationism is just moving towards that end goal.

In the case of Atomwaffen,

it was specifically about race war and control by white males.

What they want are white ethno states ruled by Nazi principles.

They would like to revive the German reich,

right, under Hitler in multiple countries.

So that is their goal,

and it is explicitly Neo Nazi, explicitly anti Semitic,

and it's violent.

-The Atomwaffen insignia has a Waffen SS sign,

along with the universal symbol of radioactivity.

The shield can be surrounded by a wreath,

which is common in the white supremacist world.

Four yellow rays emanate from the setter.

Atomwaffen's path to white supremacy is simple.

Accelerate the violence.

-When he launched Atomwaffen division,

it was his promise that this group was the real deal,

that it was fanatical,

that they were dedicated to bringing on the race war.

They would commit acts of violence

that would lead to the collapse of society.

-Russell is inspired by a violent dark web form

from Russia called Iron March.

-Iron March was a forum created by Alexander Slavos

of Russia, to put out into the world fascist ideas,

to try to collect young people in one place to

share Neo-Nazism,

fascism, various forms of extremism.

It's a very violent forum

that basically existed on Discord servers.

-Brandon Russell's message to recruits on Iron March

was if they wanted to not be keyboard warriors,

as he put it,

and actually engage in direct action

towards fomenting a race war, they should contact him.

-And it really is the precursor, the place

where the vision of apocalyptic groups like AWD came about.

-Online far right extremists are very frequently derided

as keyboard warriors. "You're all talk online.

You would never actually do anything."

And when Brandon Russell

and other quite violent Iron March followers broke off,

that was the message.

We're done being keyboard warriors.

Don't come here if all you want to do is talk online.

This is a violent movement.

-Russell hunts for recruits on college campuses.

-Atomwaffen division actually did

some serious campus outreach with a fliering.

-Police are now involved

after someone plastered a number of neo Nazi posters

on the U-Dub campus.

-That was both at campuses in parts of Florida,

but they were at, for example,

Old Dominion University in Virginia

and other parts of the country.

AWDs propaganda on campuses

was extremely blatant about its Neo-Nazi nature.

You know, don't prepare for exams.

Prepare for a race war. They were very,

very clear that they wanted you to join a Neo-Nazi

anti Semitic group and just dump your college career.

-Russell sets up a complex system to lockdown prospects.

-They also had an online infrastructure

to point people to, things like websites,

which could then lead you to chat rooms.

They wanted to get young people into the group,

and they thought that college campuses would be a place

that would be rife for that kind of recruitment.

-It's very hard to get an idea of exactly

how many people are involved,

especially with the anonymity of the Internet.

People take great pains to kind of hide their identities

to conceal themselves, not only from each other,

but they're aware that activists, journalists,

law enforcement are increasingly interested in these movements.

-The Atomwaffen creed -- Be everywhere by being nowhere.

-Most violence that we've seen in the modern American far right

has been perpetrated by lone actors.

-If law enforcement can't track them, chaos can continue.

-What lone wolf terror attacks provide to a group

like Atomwaffen Division

is a little bit of a defense against law enforcement.

If there's not a big group planning an action,

it's much more difficult for law enforcement to infiltrate

and disrupt that action and prevent it from happening.

If you're planning something essentially by yourself

and don't tell anyone,

then it's a lot harder for people to stop you.

-Atomwaffen division is

not a geographically located terrorist group.

They are everywhere by design.

The leading cells were in Florida, Texas,

and the Pacific Northwest.

But we saw Atomwaffen activity all over the country, really.

-By 2016, Atomwaffen begins to spread like a virus.

-They had to really embrace a guy named James Mason,

who was an acolyte of George Lincoln Rockwell,

who's one of the most infamous Neo-Nazis in American history.

But he later kind of became disenchanted with that movement

and struck out on his own and wrote a book called "Siege."

It makes sense that he would be a hero to Atomwaffen

because he kind of epitomizes lone wolf terrorism.

-He actually mentored members of Atomwaffen division

in his apartment in Denver, Colorado.

-Mason's book "Siege" quickly becomes Atomwaffen's manifesto.

-I've heard Atomwaffen division described as a book club

because these guys used to just read texts

and write essays at each other.

-"Siege", for instance, speaks about the importance

of carrying out acts of violence as individuals.

One principle is very important,

and that is this idea of leaderless resistance.

So you have individuals who can carry out acts of violence

without becoming part of an actual organization.

-On the night of June 12, 2016,

it was time for Atomwaffen to go live.

29 year old Omar Mateen kills 49 people in a mass shooting

at a gay night club called Pulse in Orlando, Florida.

-I think, right now, the FBI has to be concerned

whether or not, you know,

there are already any other conspirators.

Was he a alone wolf?

Was he inspired? Was he directed?

At the vigil, Stephen Billingsley is

the first member to reveal his identity.

-The first person

to publicly identify themselves as a member

of the Atomwaffen division was this guy, Stephen Billingsley,

who was protesting outside a vigil for the victims

of the Pulse nightclub shooting.

By this point, Atomwaffen division was largely unknown,

and he was caught on camera giving a Nazi salute

and then unmasked himself and declared himself a member

of this unknown Neo Nazi group called the Atomwaffen Division,

a national socialist.

-Atomwaffen is officially on the map.

With chapters popping up all over the US,

Atomwaffen is ready to jump from the dark web to bloodshed.

-Atomwaffen begins training their members at hate camps,

encouraging violence.

-There are at least a couple hate camp events held in Texas,

at least one in Washington State

and one in Quebec

with the Canadian version of Atomwaffen Division.

The purpose of the hate camps was twofold.

One was indoctrination,

right, to learn more about "Siege" or fascist ideals,

but also to do training.

Weapons training, fighting training, you know,

all the tools and skills

that you need to have to be a violent insurrectionist.

-Lone wolf attacks start to grow.

-Before long, Atomwaffen has expanded across the US

and has upwards of 27 chapters around the country.

-It's not a few hundred people.

It's really large numbers.

They are targeting young white males in the United States

and other countries to get sucked into their movement.

-The Atomwaffen division had chapters or members

in at least 23 states with some concentrations in Florida.

They had hate camps in Texas and Nevada,

but they were pretty well dispersed

throughout the country.

-They had affiliations with groups outside the US,

particularly in Europe.

-You have individuals who are kind of fighting for attention

in a very limited space.

It's a much larger movement that I think people realize.

-The problem with having a lone wolf mentality

is that it's easier to break off from the pack.

-Tonight, a shocking series of discoveries

during a double murder investigation in Tampa Palms.

-It was literally the nightmare that just kept growing.

-Inside the smoke shop,

an agitated young man pulls out a gun

and orders everyone to the ground.

-It was very clear that he wasn't letting anybody leave

and that he was not going to drop the weapon.

-They said they were scaring their lives.

One of the girls tried to sneak out from the back.

-Finally, the suspect obeys and drops his weapon.

Cops arrest 18 year old Devon Arthurs.

Hours into the interrogation, Arthur drops a grenade.

He's just killed his two roommates at their apartment.

When police arrive at Arthur's home,

they find a man in army fatigues out front.

That young man is Brandon Russell,

the leader of AWD.

-Devon Arthurs first came into contact with Brandon Russell

in a third position chat group.

And shortly after they became kind of inseparable

and best friends,

and a lot of people in those communities

kind of remarked at how unhinged they were.

You know, there were stories of them

waving around handguns in video chats.

Brandon Russell and Devon Arthurs

first meet Andrew Oneschuck and Jeremy Himmelman online.

Oneschuck and Himmelman are based up in Massachusetts,

and Russell eventually asks Himmelman to lead up

the Massachusetts chapter.

-As the alliance starts to build,

Russell decides to invite the three guys down to Florida

to live together in early 2017.

-The important thing about the four men

actually moving in together

was they were forming a real cell in the Florida area.

-Brandon thought that, you know, being in the same place

and living together,

it'd be easier for them to carry out this horrific vision

they had for the world.

-After they move in, Arthurs does the unthinkable.

He begins to convert to Islam. -As crazy as that sounds

for a Neo Nazi to convert in this way to Islam,

it's actually not all that uncommon in alt right circles

to kind of express reverence for groups like ISIS or Al Qaeda

because of the destruction

they've wrought in certain places

and particularly targeting kind of American interests.

It's important to remember

that these accelerationist groups are looking

to destroy America.

-They almost identify more with Al Qaeda

than they do with the Klan.

You know, they see themselves much more as sort of

an insurgent army than a political force, for instance.

-But to his roommates, it's the ultimate betrayal.

-This becomes a sore spot in the apartment,

and the three of them kind of gang up and make fun of Devon.

-Devon didn't take that lightly.

He felt suspected in his own home,

that they were going against his Islamic beliefs.

-That May, Arthurs explodes.

-On May 19, 2017,

Devon Arthurs murdered Jeremy Himmelman

and Andrew Oneschuk

in their apartment with an AK 47.

-The police search the apartment

and find bomb paraphernalia everywhere.

-And they find an arsenal of weaponry,

multiple firearms, plenty of ammunition.

And they also find explosive precursors indicating

that somebody was probably building an explosive device.

-Russell is brought down for questioning.

-He's hysterical.

He's crying because he had just found two of his roommates,

you know, brutally murdered.

-Back in Devon Arthurs' interrogation room,

he immediately starts to snitch.

-While Arthurs is talking, Russell's holding.

-Russell tells cops that he uses them for his hobby,

launching rockets.

-Russell claimed that he was using it to shoot

off basically model rockets, right?

That this was harmless material for, you know,

a Sunday afternoon in the park.

-I think they see him as kind of a nice college kid

with a cop dad who is really into science.

-They did not keep him in detention.

This probably partly has to do with the fact

that his father was a sheriff's deputy in Florida.

Shockingly, law enforcement let him go.

-But the cops in the two rooms aren't communicating.

Just as Russell is being released,

Arthurs is spilling everything to police.

Those bombs are going to take down a huge infrastructure.

-Arthur says he had to kill them

before they pulled off the terror attack.

The police are stunned. Russell is already out the door.

They begin to drill him for details.

-What he had in his possession

were very serious explosives that could do significant harm

that could kill people.

-Russell's in the wind, and despite two dead roommates,

he moves on with the plan.

-Terrorism, especially in its lone actor form,

is not necessarily expensive.

Firearms are not necessarily expensive.

Explosives are not necessarily expensive.

-To give you a perspective, Al Qaeda carried out 9/11

for less than $500,000 to kill 3,000 people.

-After Brandon Russell's roommate

Devon Arthurs kills their other two roommates,

Brandon Russell goes on the lam,

he flees, and he starts driving south through Florida

where he picks up another Atomwaffen member

who quits his fast food job,

cashes out his life savings, about $3,000.

-The cops call in the FBI, who launch an all out man hunt.

-Him and Brandon buy a ---- ton of weapons and ammunition

and start driving south

towards the Turkey Point Nuclear Power Plant in the Florida Keys.

-48 hours later, jackpot.

Monroe County Sheriff's deputies spot Russell's license plate

and pull him over.

-Turn around put your hands behind your back.

-Turn around. -Get the other one.

You have any weapons on you?

-What's wrong? -You know what's wrong.

Why are you fidgeting? -Russell's jittery behavior

has police on high alert.

-He's too nervous, man. He's way too nervous.

-Yeah. Something's in that car.

What are we gonna find in that car?

-When authorities finally track Brandon down,

they find horrifying cache in his car.

Weapons, guns, 1,000 rounds of ammo.

This is obviously concerning on its own,

but it's especially concerning when you consider

where they were stopped.

-They were eventually arrested en route

to the Turkey Point nuclear power plant.

The police conducting the arrest

believed they had stopped an attack at that location.

-Russell catches five years for possession

of an unregistered destructive device

and improper storage of explosive materials.

But for the Atomwaffen, plan B is already in action.

Waiting in the wings is John Cameron Denton, AKA Rape.

-Atomwaffen division pivoted towards a form

of Satanism known as the Order of Nin Angles.

It's a violent Satanist movement.

-He takes it in somehow an even darker direction.

-Police tell us it involves a racist hate group

with access to high explosives.

-With Atomwaffen leader Brandon Russell behind bars,

John Cameron Denton immediately takes over AWD

with right hand man Caleb Cole.

-Pop that [bleep] open, point it at them, and pulled the trigger.

Hail Hitler.

-Once John Cameron Denton takes the reins of

Atomwaffen division, he kind of takes it and in somehow

a seemingly even darker direction.

He's kind of obsessed with the occult and satanism,

kind of in keeping with James Mason's fascination

with Charles Manson.

-Atomwaffen forms a new alliance

with a Neo-Nazi group called the Order of Nine Angles,

a Satanist group.

-Originally, Russell was not into the whole

Order of the Nine Angles, satanic stuff that Denton

and the secondary leaders got into.

And that is honestly part of

what led Atomwaffen falling into into disrepair.

-This report that has come out about them taking DMT during,

like a hate camp, and then sacrificing a goat.

You can take a large amount of DMT,

travel to another ----ing dimension,

and then come back to reality like 20, 30 minutes later.

-This new pivot to Satanism

has thinned the group to only the most dangerous in the herd.

By late 2017, Atomwaffen ramps up their

hate camp training around the country,

with members participating in military training,

complete with heavy duty weaponry.

-It's a violent white supremacy group known

for conducting training exercises with camo and guns.

-And in all these places,

indoctrination of propaganda is happening,

but also military style training, clearing buildings,

you know, how to assemble weapons,

how to engage in hand to hand combat.

-Atomwaffen doesn't make money of drug running.

All the financing for the entire operation

comes from the members themselves.

-The Atomwaffen division have to essentially engage

in what you call self financing,

building wealth from the membership itself

through the odd jobs that the membership does.

-Individuals will pay for their own equipment.

They will pay to go to meet ups.

-All of this is a means to an end to finance hate camps

and further their training.

Atomwaffen's hate camps,

make an impression on one member in particular.

-Sam Woodward did not fit in

at the Orange County School of the Arts.

He was moody. He was right wing.

He did a graphic design project of a confederate flag.

One of their classmates told me

that if they had to pick somebody in their class

that would have been a school shooter,

they would have picked Samuel Woodward.

-Sam Woodward comes across AWD on the dark web

and immediately joins the group.

He climbs the ranks fast.

-Eventually, Sam develops a reputation in

the Atomwaffen division for being, like,

up on his fascist literature.

So eventually,

he's tasked with interviewing new initiates to make sure

that they're ready to join the cause.

-He starts going by the name Saboteur or Sab online

and begins attending the hate camps.

-We know Sam Woodward went to one of these hate camps,

the one in Texas,

because he was actually photographed at the camp

throwing up a fascist salute.

-But allegedly, Woodward has a secret.

Something that Atomwaffen could kill him for.

-There were a lot of rumors in the high school

that Sam himself,

despite his kind of alt right persona,

might be interested in boys, might be attracted to boys,

that he might be gay or bi.

-Unknown to Atomwaffen,

he secretly makes contact with a former classmate.

-Sam Woodward and Blaze Bernstein went to

high school with one another.

-While Blaze is home for winter break,

Woodward persuades him to meet up in person.

-Woodward encourages Bernstein to meet him in a park.

-Only one would leave the park alive.

-According to Woodward,

Bernstein tries to kiss Woodward,

Woodward then stabs Bernstein multiple times.

-The parents of 19 year old Blaze Bernstein spoke

through tears after learning their son's body was found

in Lake Forest, Borrego Park.

-When I heard them talking about the injuries

that he sustained was one of the first times

I collapsed, when I heard that.

-Detectives find dirt under Woodward's

fingernails and bruises on his body,

consistent with a struggle.

-Samuel Woodward was arrested on January 12th

and charged with the murder of Blaze Bernstein.

-Police get a warrant to search his home.

Inside, they find what they believe to be the murder weapon.

-The evidence connecting Sam to Blaze's alleged murder

was pretty easy for detectives to find.

There was blood in the car.

The knife that had Blaze's blood on it

was in Sam's dresser, and it had Sam's father's name on it.

-Atomwaffen Division celebrates the murder.

-Woodward is applauded for the murder of Bernstein

by the Atomwaffen division,

a so called one man gay Jew wrecking crew.

-A couple of days after Blaze's murder,

Samuel Woodward goes into the Atomwaffen division chat

and is kind of like unusually wistful

and earnest expresses his gratitude to the group.

-But not everyone likes the attention.

-They think it's kind of a waste

of a good Neo-Nazi activist,

and they're also a little wary of the attention

that is on them now because of this murder

and because they've been connected to this murder.

-It is a group that we should absolutely be concerned about.

-Tonight, the investigative website ProPublica

is now reporting that Woodward was a member of a fascist group,

their Nazi propaganda posted online,

traveling to Texas for military style training.

-A month later, someone in Atomwaffen division

betrays the group and blows their dark web cover.

-After Blaze Bernstein's murder,

ProPublica gets a hold of Atomwaffen division's

internal chats and messages to each other, which, of course,

exposes kind of the depth of their depravity and

embrace of violence.

In the wake of this leak, John Cameron Denton declares

that it's probably time for another purge,

meaning we might have to kick out some members

and find out who the rat is.

-The data dump triggers an all out war on journalists.

AWD goes scorched earth.

-Under John Cameron Denton,

Atomwaffen division begins to target journalists.

-I have just noticed something in my mailbox.

It doesn't look quite right.

-Caleb Cole and John Denton

really ran a multi-state coordinated campaign

in which they threatened dozens and dozens

of people with death.

-White supremacist group

was plotting to intimidate journalists.

-Investigating the group for months.

-Such acts of hate will be met with thorough,

tireless, vigorous investigations.

-With Atomwaffen under investigation by the FBI,

the group ramps up business overseas.

-Pictures from Atomwaffen Deutschland

first appeared I believe in 2018.

Atomwaffen Deutschland,

or Atomwaffen Germany, kind of announced itself to the world

by posting photos of a couple of members

standing in front of very famous castle

in Germany associated with the SS.

-The British affiliate, the Sonnenkrieg Division,

which was directly affiliated with Atomwaffen,

and some of their members were in the Atomwaffen group texts.

These are not actual criminal organizations,

the way we think of the mafia or something.

So it becomes kind of a semantic issue.

-In 2018, the Sonnenkrieg division got a large amount

of kind of notoriety in the UK press

for referring to Prince Harry "a race traitor" for his,

you know, mixed race wife, Meghan Markle.

There's a concept within these spaces

that kind of pervades a lot of white supremacy,

where, like, race traitors get the rope.

Anybody who acts against the interests of white

Europeans -- journalists, activists, minorities,

and race traitors specifically our open game for execution.

The concept of this "day of the rope" is the day

that they're all they're all going to get lynched.

-In early 2019, with international backing,

AWD launches a new phase known as Operation Sol,

German for first pillar.

-With the ProPublica expose of Atomwaffen Division,

they were very upset that this information was out there,

that the chats were leaked,

and that there was this negative attention,

and it also sort of ruined some of the mystique

that they had been trying to build.

-AWD raises the stakes, targeting journalists of color,

Jewish journalists, and the Anti Defamation League

by posting signs with imagery of weapons and Neo-Nazi symbols.

Along with death threats, Atomwaffen tries a new tactic.

-They were incredibly angry over this,

which is why they went after the journalists behind it.

-Denton and Cole

take swatting, calling in fake hostage situations

to trigger a SWAT Team response to next level heights.

AWD allegedly makes over 100 swatting calls

on an historically Black church,

along with dozens of journalists.

-The end goal being to terrorize these individuals

into no longer reporting on the group.

-Atomwaffen Division is on the war path,

but a bad move is about

to blow up in their face and send them spiraling.

-Atomwaffen division leader John Cameron Denton

and his right hand man, Caleb Cole start swatting --

calling in fake hostage situations

to trigger a SWAT Team response.

-You may be in your home,

and especially if you let's say own a firearm,

and, all of a sudden,

somebody busts into your house with guns drawn,

you might go for your gun.

You go for your gun in the face

of a police officer or SWAT Team,

you're going to be gun down.

-Death threats and swatting incidents

also happened in Germany by Atomwaffen divisions

where two politicians were specifically set death threats

from the group,

and others were basically swatted in various ways.

-But Atomwaffen decides to swat its biggest enemy,

the US government.

-They start to target elected officials

and another government bureaucrats.

Basically as a method of intimidation and harassment

to stop these people from paying attention.

-The FBI goes on a war path.

-Not only is the terror threat diverse.

It's unrelenting.

-Atomwaffen division shows themselves to be

not the cleverest criminals.

-But Atomwaffen members screw up

and leave easy breadcrumbs for the feds to follow.

-During this swatting campaign,

one of them forgets to hide their number.

Eventually, it's pretty easy

for law enforcement to identify who's behind this

and then, you know, slowly it unravels.

-In early 2020, the feds take them down.

-John Cameron Denton is serving more than five years

in prison for engaging in more than 100 swatting incidents.

-We're pretty sure that Caleb Cole was going to engage

in violence if that hadn't happened.

-This sentence sends a message to those who would engage in

similar actions that serious consequences are waiting for

threatened people in this way.

-With intense heat on AWD,

James Mason makes a startling announcement.

Atomwaffen is dismantling.

-In 2020, there was an audio put out

reportedly from James Mason.

This is not part of, but was foundational

or incredibly influential in the Atomwaffen division

and their ideology, saying that the group had disbanded.

The members that had made up the group

or had helped start the group dissolved to a certain degree.

-With Denton behind bars in 2020, it seemed like the feds

had cut the head off the Atomwaffen snake.

As they later find out, AWD didn't go anywhere.

First, NSO pops up in the US.

-They decide it's time for a rebrand.

They call themselves the National Socialist Order,

which, you know, is the same group in a lot of ways.

They're still devoted

to creating a national socialist order by any means necessary,

including violence.

-With big tech on high alert,

AWD starts to use a lesser known platform called Telegram

and broadcast James Mason's "Siege",

along with Russian AWD call to arms.

In the darkest part of Telegram, is a channel called TerrorGram.

-Terrorgram is a name used for a subset of Telegram

in the extreme right.

It's a group of individuals

who believe in Neo-Nazi accelerationism,

and they believe in the use of, I mean,

really terrorism and mass violence

to accomplish their goals.

-Terrorgram is used for something even worse.

Live streaming murder.

-They make recommendations regarding tactics,

planning, surveillance, and things of that nature.

There have been advice given for making bombs

in some of these Terrorgram manuals.

They could sort of be seen as a guide for an individual

who want to commit a terrorist attack.

-Police in New Zealand are urging people

to stay off the streets

and to avoid mosques in the coming hours

after mass shootings at two mosques in the city

of Christchurch.

-In 2019, a white supremacist group r-posted a Facebook Live

of the Christchurch Massacre,

resulting in the killing of 51 Muslims.

-Police confirm the gunman was live streaming

the killings at one mosque on social media.

-There's a recording posted online

of the Christchurch shooter's manifesto,

which obviously he wrote in anticipation

of killing Muslim worshippers.

-Rapewaffen division was a little different.

You had a lot of groups kind of popping up this time,

that were, like, noun division or adjective division.

Like they would take some kind of concept from in the space

and just use the same naming convention and the look.

Rapewaffen division was, as the name implies,

a little different.

They really lionized this idea of sexual assault.

Rapewaffen division was probably one of the kind of worst

to come out during the height of the skull mask era.

-It's a matter of time until all hell breaks loose.

In 2021, it does.

That January, a chilling post is made on Terrorgram,

announcing the start of a Neo-Nazi fight club

called Active Club.

-Active Club was started by an American white nationalist

named Robert Rondo.

They were meet up groups of people,

typically white nationalists, Neo-Nazis, always white

European men who would come together to train for combat,

exchange ideas.

It's not 100% dissimilar from a fight club,

but the purpose is to train for combat

and to network to build this nationalist movement.

There are fight nights that have been arranged in the US

The Southern California Active Club

brought a few individuals together

to have a big fight night.

Then they use that to produce,

you know, an entire documentary around it.

-All these things are happening around the same period

of time, Rapewaffen, Terrorgram, Active Club.

That August, Brandon Russell is released from prison.

It's the perfect storm.

Russell gets right back to business.

-It's uncovered that him and a woman that he met

while in prison were plotting to attack a power grid.

-Completely destroy Baltimore and inflict maximum damage.

-Attacking these stations to cut power

to the city of Baltimore would lead to a breakdown of order,

and that it would lead to violence.

-Terrorgram has opened up venues

for white supremacist groups to connect with each other.

But one of the top dogs will finally be unmasked.

-Brandon Russell is interacting with Dallas Aaron Humber

to coordinate the release of Terrorgram propaganda material.

In a way, the voice of Terrorgram gets discovered

'cause she posted a picture of a cat named Fluffy.

-In early 2023, in Sacramento, a woman, Dallas Aaron Humber,

is unmasked as the mouthpiece of the Terrorgram collective.

-Dallas Humber is alleged

to be kind of fairly well known, certainly

within the space, narrator of these manifestos.

There's something called the right wing book club

where she would make these recordings.

-For a while,

all of these audio files are floating around

and being shared on Terrorgram,

but no one can figure out who this woman is.

There's also a particularly disturbing documentary.

I believe it's called "White Terror."

-The White Terror doc is a Terrorgram production

that was this full length documentary

that included footage of 105 different kind of

mass casualty events that are considered to be a part of the,

like pantheon of saints.

-Eventually, anti fascist activists follow this very long

digital bread crumb trail and figure out

that this woman in California,

who has been kind of a self professed Neo-Nazi

and hiding behind user names and avatars since she was, like,

14 years old, her name is Dallas Aaron Humber.

-A group of anti fascism researchers have revealed

that the voice behind Terrorgram

belongs to a Sacramento area woman.

-When she's posting on Terrorgram,

she once posts a picture of a cat named Fluffy.

Later, anti fascists find that same cat posted by

another account that they know belongs to Dallas Aaron Humber.

So, in a way, you know, the voice of Terrorgram

gets discovered because she posted a picture of Fluffy.

-Even though Humber is unmasked,

it doesn't stop the spreading of information

and dark plans over Terrorgram.

-This is domestic terrorism, pure and simple,

and it needs to be treated as such.

-In February 2023,

Brandon Russell, former leader of AWD, is caught

trying to bomb multiple electrical substations

in the Baltimore area.

-The FBI says it's stopped a plot

to take down the city's power grid.

Two people are under arrest, a neo Nazi leader and a woman.

-Russell has been out of prison for a couple of years

and is plotting to use guns to shoot

out power substations in Maryland

to plunge Baltimore into kind of complete darkness and chaos.

-The FBI said the suspects had racially

and ethnically motivated extremist views

and wanted to destroy the entire city.

-Other white supremacist groups have learned

from Atomwaffen's mistakes.

-Between Atomwaffen Division

and its splitter cells, no one is safe.

-It's about reawakening people of America and get white people

to stand up for their roots

and to quit being put down by things like Black Lives Matter.

-They think we are living

in a particularly dangerous moment in time.

And if you look at the statistics

over these last five years, for instance,

the United Nations has documented a more than 320%

increase worldwide in attacks attributed

to radical right wing actors. -Oh, my God.

He shot so many people were there.

-I've been working on a list

that is around 60 to 70 organizations

that are active today.

That doesn't include kind of very small Facebook organizing,

things like that.

It's very hard to pin down.

You get a lot of crossover membership.

-We have certainly seen the rise

of a global neo Nazi white nationalist movement

that is deserving of our attention.

-Today, it's difficult to say what Atomwaffen will do next.

No one really knows.

-Trying to counter groups like the Atomwaffen division

is like a game of Whac-A-Mole.

A lot of individuals who subscribe to

the Atomwaffen division's ideology

are not part of organizations.

They are individuals who are even further under the radar

because they're not connected to an [speaks indistinctly]

or even cellular structure.

-This isn't a threat that has gone away.

So the entity itself, whatever it calls itself,

needs to be closely monitored.

-Let's not find ourselves asleep at the wheel

as we did in the run up to 9/11.

-There's five murders

that have been connected to Atomwaffen division.

As much as some individuals did take action,

it primarily was a place to produce work

that would inspire others.

Or at least that has been what is

the lasting effect of Atomwaffen.
