Now, my lantern this year was inspired

by my aunt Maggie and her magical inn.

I was lucky enough to grow up on Harbor Island

and the beauty here is, it goes beyond what you see.

The beauty about Harbor Island, is that it's also a feeling.

And it's one that warms my heart.

So, thank you all again so much.

always just seems to brighten up my night.

Why Pilots for Pups?

Pilots for Pups.

Well, a couple years ago I had a friend

who had a springer spaniel named Rusty who needed a home.

And I gave him a hand looking for someone.

We found this sweet, retired couple

on Queens Bay Island and I flew him over.

And, the moment that I dropped Rusty off...

I don't know, I just knew that nothing

I'd ever done had felt quite so satisfying.

So I decided to open the adoption center

and dedicate my time to finding homes for these pups.

I love finding homes for these dogs.

Even if I haven't quite found one for myself yet.

Oh, so that's why you're at the Inn.

Yeah.

Yeah, I'm kind of looking for the perfect property

on the island to call home.

For now, the Inn feels more like home

than anywhere I've lived.

It was my home growing up.

I lost them when I was young, in a car accident.

Aunt Maggie raised me.

She became my second mom.

I love her and the Inn so much,

but as I grew older I just felt like I needed

some time away from Harbor Island.

That's why you moved to the city?

Yeah, I always had this idea of having

this perfectly designed life in the city.

But since I've been back,

I've just been flooded with all these wonderful memories.

Both from a long time ago

and the new ones we've all been creating here.

It feels like my heart's filling up again.

And the more that we're renovating the Inn...

The more I wish there was a way we could keep it.

My family lived on Harbor Island for generations.

I used to spend summers with my grandmother.

She was just the sweetest soul you ever met.

I wish I spent more time with her when she was still here,

but my ex wasn't exactly a fan of the island.

Anyways, when my grandmother passed

I came back here to deal with her estate

and that's when I checked into your aunt's inn.

Turns out it is a pretty special place.
