We're gonna see if the ground underneath Skinwalker Ranch

is conductive.

-There... Look at that. -THOMAS: Oh, wow!

TRAVIS: The ground itself

might be acting like a battery.

We're gonna be putting so much power

through the ground,

and hopefully we can stimulate

something on the ranch.

CAMERON: Energize.

Wait, wait, wait. What is that, right there?

-THOMAS: Just diving down. -Diving and then it stops.

TRAVIS: What in the world?

That is crazy.

NARRATOR: There is a ranch in Northern Utah.

It is considered the epicenter

of the strangest and most disturbing phenomena on Earth:

animal mutilations,

bizarre UFO sightings

and unusual energies that have proven harmful to humans.

For 20 years, the federal government

tried to find answers and failed.

Now a new team of dedicated scientists,

researchers and experts has taken over.

They are determined to solve the mystery and reveal...

...The Secret of Skinwalker Ranch.

TRAVIS: After conducting a bunch of experiments

to "poke the nest" here at Skinwalker Ranch,

we're finally zeroing in on a spot

that we think could reveal some answers: the triangle.

ERIK: Oh, well, here they are.

-Yeah. -TRAVIS: There he is.

TRAVIS: The soil there is not only strangely conductive

and stores massive amounts of energy,

but after we discovered high levels of microwave radiation

about a mile above it last year, we launched

some small rockets and suddenly saw a number

of unidentified aerial phenomena, or UAPs.

KALEB: Hey, guys.

-THOMAS: Hey, Kaleb. -So, we've got LOC Precision

here today bringing us some rockets.

These are the rocket men.

TRAVIS: So, now, we're going all-in

to fire even bigger rockets up there

equipped with measuring devices

that will hopefully provoke a response that we can identify,

and get some irrefutable data.

These guys make big rockets.

-You design them? -Yeah.

'Cause you said you wanted big rockets?

Here we are.

You know, after we launched the rockets last year,

uh, and we had the phenomena occur that we did,

we wanted to kind of step it up a little bit

and have some bigger payload requirements,

so we put bigger instruments in there.

Maybe even get up to that 5,000-foot mark

that we talked about that-that we think

there's something there, whatever.

The rockets we launched last year were nothing.

I'm talking about big rockets.

Let's get this launch ready to go.

The small rockets we launched last summer

above the triangle area

didn't get as high as we wanted for data collection.

Oh, yeah!

-Looking good. -THOMAS: Look, look, look!

-What is that? -What is that?

TRAVIS: We got something, hold on.

But it was really eerie

how we saw UAPs right afterwards.

THOMAS: It's gone.

-Did you, did you see that? -TRAVIS: It's gone.

Yes, I saw it! It's gone. Did y'all see that?

BRYANT: I saw it, finally.

-TRAVIS: You finally saw it. -ERIK: Yes, I saw it.

BRYANT: What the hell was that?

Show us what you got. I mean, I can't wait

-to see the rockets. -Let's see.

-DAVE: Here we go. -THOMAS: I've been excited

to see this since the day you told us

that we were going bigger.

-Whoa, here we are. -Now there's a truckload of rockets right there.

That is a rocket.

Ever since we started preparing for the investigation this year,

we-we talked about bigger, better rockets.

KALEB: That's like a 120-millimeter rocket right there.

-Yeah, hand us stuff. We'll help you carry it. -DAVE: Okay.

THOMAS: I've been looking forward to that

ever since, and, uh,

I mean, who doesn't love rockets?

You guys have probably heard something about

the unusual indications that we have at altitude,

at about 5,000 feet above the ranch.

-Right. -We've got some indication that,

you know, there might be something up there.

We're talking about

a location over which,

through a triangulation exercise last summer, we seem

to have found some sort of, what's been called

an energetic source or a nexus,

and so many things have been observed there,

so many things have happened historically.

Uh, you know, we've-we've sent, uh, gamma detectors up,

we've sent RF detectors up.

We want to do some things like that this time,

-Cool. -only on a bigger scale.

TRAVIS: We've tried rockets, we've tried balloons,

we've tried drones.

A lot of times the drones fail.

The balloon got to that altitude and just kind of disappeared.

Three, two, one, let it launch.

That is awesome!

If these rockets that we'll equip

with measuring devices and cameras

can reach that point above the triangle area,

maybe we'll find out what happened to the balloon.

Why don't you guys walk us through what all you brought

so then Erik and I can start thinking, well, what we're gonna

put in each one of these as far as, uh,

the science is concerned.

The motors that we brought are G's though M's.

So, the bigger the letter, the stronger,

the more powerful the motor, guys.

Um, Allen brought this one.

-That's gonna be an L motor, right? -Yeah.

BRYANT: Wow, that thing is awesome.

So, what type of altitudes are you thinking

we're gonna get in a range from

from the small rockets up to the big ones?

2,000 to 12,000.

-BRYANT: 12,000? -TRAVIS: Wow. That's gonna cover

a lot of range.

There has to be well over a dozen rockets

that they've brought this year, some of them are massive.

The fact that we have these big rockets that can hold

all sorts of equipment and larger payloads of instruments

and can reach that height is gonna be really interesting

to see what the data yields.

I'm excited all the way across the board for this day.

So, we are really excited to have this happen,

but this ranch is the most unpredictable place.

Sometimes when we have guests

come on to the ranch, they may get an odd feeling.

And if you start feeling off yourself,

don't be shy to express that.

THOMAS: You know, last year when we launched rockets,

we had a lot of unexplained strangeness take place

during the launch and after the launch.

And, uh, even after you go home, over the next couple of days,

if you experience anything that's out of the ordinary

or-or strange, we want to know about it,

because sometimes maybe the effects aren't immediate.

If your phone acts crazy or your car starts itself

-or the radio acts weird... -And if any of the equipment

malfunctions unexplainably.

Any-any of that kind of stuff is data points for us.

-All right. -Okay.

TOM: Hello. Welcome to Skinwalker Ranch.

-Good to see you. -Hi, Ward. -Good to see you too!

TRAVIS: While we were building the rockets,

Tom Lewis and Kandus Linde met once again with the family

of the late UFO and UAP researcher Junior Hicks.

With everything we've seen and are now trying to verify,

we reached out to them to see if anything

in Junior's more than 60 years of records

could help us with this investigation.

-TOM: We're happy to have you back. -WARD: Thanks for inviting us.

TOM: Junior Hicks is kind of a local legend.

Unfortunately, he passed away a few months ago,

but he kept thousands of different documents of people

who had seen sightings of UFOs and different creatures.

Just recently, his son Ward found a lot more documents.

So we invited him to the ranch to go through these documents,

because this is gonna help us, you know,

put more pieces of this puzzle together.

Yeah, we were so impressed

with the notion of his recordkeeping.

I mean, that... knowing that he kept those records

and then your willingness to-to share some of them

-is really incredible. -WARD: Yeah. Yeah.

Whenever there was a phenomena,

a UFO or unexplained, um, flying objects,

he would want to interview people.

So, what he would do, he would drive out to their place,

he had a form that he'd fill out.

He had the date, the time,

the-the place, the weather conditions, how many witnesses,

what was actually observed,

and then they'd even draw pictures of what they had seen

and he kept a file on every, uh, incident,

-of every observation. -Wow.

WARD: When I was growing up, I remember a lot of UFO reports.

I remember my dad going out to visit people

and he interviewed people.

I remember him, uh, bringing home

the paperwork and talking about it with our family,

and I thought it was interesting, exciting

and it was pretty cool.

-There's over 200 of them in here. -Wow.

Uh, for example, here's one.

This was, uh...

-TOM: Mm-hmm. -KANDUS: Mm-hmm.

-KANDUS: Wow. -Down-down below there.

Here's one... You can see, this one,

-uh, that one right there. -KANDUS: Oh, wow.

See?

Some were double convex, and some were half convex.

KANDUS: Hmm.

Now, here's another one. Here you can see this one.

KANDUS: Wow.

WARD: And that one was in 1965.

Here is another one that shows the...

Oh, wow.

WARD: The beam coming out.

Some of them mention a-a red beam

that would come out and would... they could actually see

the end of the beam, it would slowly come out

of the object, hit the ground

and light it up for a little bit and withdraw the beam.

You could actually see the end of the beam

-Wow. -That's incredible. -...coming up.

They're really incredible images to see... to look at.

-Mm-hmm. -And what was fascinating to my dad was

when they would have a sighting

and then he would get another report

and he could tell it was the very same object.

-Oh, wow. -Two people-- didn't even know each other--

and they both reported that-- it happened the same day,

the same time and the same description.

TOM: Some of these stories completely correlated with each other.

Seeing these strange lights in the sky.

That lends a lot of, you know, validity

and credibility to what these people had to say.

WARD: Well, here-here's one.

This one, uh, happened in 1970.

A man and a boy were riding horses, uh...

He said it was... he noticed this-this object

about a mile from us.

Said it was white halo of light.

Another person driving by, saw the same thing.

So, he's got a report of that one as well.

KANDUS: Wow.

TOM: These images are very similar

to something that we've seen.

KANDUS: Oh, yeah.

TRAVIS: We are now armed.

This is launch control.

We are ready for launch.

Whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa. Wait.

TRAVIS: We got something, right here.

Guys, we just had a UAP appear...

in the same spot as last year.

TOM: These images are very similar

to something that we've seen.

Exactly, yeah. That looks just like what we saw last year.

TOM: Some of these drawings resonated with some of the things

that we've seen on the ranch.

There is one instance where I saw something

that I can't explain fly across the mesa

right in front our house.

We're seeing this weird ball of light flying across the sky.

Is that a UFO? Is that alien?

I don't know. It wasn't a helicopter,

it wasn't a satellite, it wasn't an airplane.

I can tell you what it wasn't,

but I can't tell you what it is.

-Excited. -We're so, so thankful and so excited

to get this information, uh, because it's going to help us

paint a better picture of what's happening here.

-Mm-hmm. -Um, you know, going through all these records,

putting them in a database.

We'll digitize and scan these

and then give them, the originals back to you,

-Uh-huh. Yeah. -and then

-That would be great. That'd be great. -go from there.

TOM: Hopefully this project will provide the investigative team

with something very valuable

that they can use and-and continue to take forward.

TRAVIS: On the-the little black rocket over there,

-do we have enough motors that we could fly it a couple times? -ALLEN: Yep.

THOMAS: This year Travis is promising bigger and better and higher.

It's gonna allow them to take bigger payloads up,

and the ability to get up higher is also going to help us

try to break through that 5,000-foot mark.

BRYANT: The scope of the rockets we're shooting off this year

far exceeds anything we had last.

So, it will be fun to not only see the rockets,

but see if it stirs up any strangeness like last year.

Well, here's my thoughts on order of launch.

I want to launch that one first.

-Great. Perfect. -Okay. And then we're gonna launch that one,

that Tom and-and Dragon and I put together.

And then, uh, the big rocket that's got the payload

that Erik and I have been working on,

that's got the-the TriField meter,

the optical clock, uh...

-Gamma ray detector. -...gamma ray detector,

and it's also going to have, uh,

the transmitting chirp that we can pick up

-with the spectrum analyzer. -Yeah.

ERIK: One thing we want to keep in mind

is as interesting as it is to track these rockets,

we should just keep our eyes on the sky in general.

'Cause we don't know what else might happen.

TRAVIS: Yeah. So, one thing

to keep in mind is what happened last year,

while we were launching those rockets,

we had all these experiences,

saw all these UFOs appearing in the sky.

Yeah, I wanted to say something about that.

And remember that something could occur--

a phenomena could occur, and our goal,

if that phenomena occurs, is to get data.

We... I know we all are gonna want to sit and stare at it

and look, but if we got an instrument

on the launchpad,

we're gonna want to get that launched

if there's a phenomena occurring.

I'm gonna point every single one of our camera assets

that I can spare at the sky itself.

-TRAVIS: All right. -In worst case, everyone's got

-a camera in their pocket. -TRAVIS: Yep, that's right.

TRAVIS: Grab your cell phone out,

start snapping pictures, too. That's right. Or video...

Or even if you feel something.

-Yeah, that's absolutely right. -That's true.

And so, I-I think we all know where we're going.

I say we-we get started.

-BRYANT: Let's do it. -DAVE: All right.

ERIK: After discussing the best way to go about this work,

we've decided to divide into three teams.

We have our launch control team down at the command center.

DAVE: Let's get the box set up here.

ERIK: We have the launchpad team up on top of the mesa,

and of course, our recovery team out in the field

to retrieve the rockets and their payloads.

This is the MiniRad-D we got going on here.

It's ready to go.

ERIK: I've also requested that Casey from Qal-Tek

come out and help us personally install

our dosimeters, or radiation detectors,

that data log and allow us to go back and examine the record

after we've retrieved the rocket.

THOMAS: Where we're positioned right here

is almost exactly underneath where we've triangulated

that there may be some weird energy going on.

-Wow. -Matter of fact, last year when we launched

the weather balloon, it took a turn and came right up

and went right up above where we're at right now.

So, to have the rocket positioned right here

is actually pretty significant.

-All right. -Perfect.

We'll see what the winds are doing

-and we'll see what's up there. -Yeah.

TRAVIS (over radio): Launch control

to launchpad, copy?

Yeah, we got you.

-Are you ready to go? -BRYANT: Yeah, Travis.

We are in a safe zone, the launchpad is clear.

All right. You guys ready here?

Erik, we are clear on the air traffic, right?

Yeah, nothing within ten miles.

Launchpad, we are going hot.

The launchpad is going hot.

Everybody stay in the safe zone. We are armed.

Kaleb, be ready for chase.

And we are ready for countdown.

Yep, the skies are clear. Good to go.

TRAVIS: Five, four,

three, two,

one. Ignition.

There it goes. There it goes.

Nice. See, that one went up pretty good. Look at that.

We have good launch.

Looks like we're about at apogee.

ALLEN: Parachute deployed, it looks like.

-There we are. -Chute-chute's out.

TRAVIS: We have chute deployed, chute deployed.

Range is cold, the pads are clear.

Kaleb, I think it's gonna come right to you.

BRYANT: Having a recovery team and a whole bunch of eyes

on this rocket is really important.

Oh, there it is.

Not only to recover the rocket itself,

but we have thousands of dollars of equipment monitoring

all sorts of things that we are anxious to get the data for.

So, it's vital that we recover all of these

rockets once they come down.

Everybody, keep your eyes peeled to the skies.

-I see nothing. -Nothing's happening.

Yeah, there's nothing happening.

TRAVIS: I don't see the phenomena right now.

-Travis. -TRAVIS: Yeah.

Did it work? Is your phone going crazy? -KALEB: Yeah.

My phone's freaking out. I just want you to see it.

-TRAVIS: Oh, look at this. -It's dialing numbers.

It just logged in. Look at that.

TRAVIS: It broke your code

in three tries.

Yeah, and I just shut it off and it just turned back on.

TRAVIS: Keep your eyes on it.

Whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa. Wait, wait.

What's this right here? What's this?

TRAVIS: We got something, we got something.

We got something right here!

Guys, we just had a UAP appear, uh,

in the same spot as last year.

TRAVIS: Look at that.

It broke your code in three tries.

-Yeah. -That's creepy.

KALEB: We launched the first rocket,

and I was working with Tom and Kandus

on retrieving them, and my phone actually started

going into the different apps, it actually started

changing languages while it was dialing, uh, phone numbers.

TRAVIS: That's insane. I mean, we don't know how to break an iPhone

and I just, and I just watched it break your iPhone

-in three tries. -Twice.

Before I shut it off and after I turned it off.

-That's crazy. That's crazy. -KANDUS: Crazy.

TRAVIS: All right. Well, let's get on

with the next rocket launch and you know what,

if your phone don't work,

maybe the, maybe the ranch will fix it.

Kaleb's phone was freaking me out,

and I-I really can't explain it.

I don't know if it's a-a warning,

but nothing weird is happening

other than that, so I say we keep launching rockets

and see what happens.

All members be advised, we are launching rockets.

Keep your eyes peeled on the skies, your heads on a swivel.

You never know when a phenomena might occur.

All right. Copy that.

JAY: Launch control, come in.

Launchpad, this is launch control, go ahead.

We are now flying off of pad four.

Electronics are hot, verifying now,

and we'll step back when we're ready to rock.

Copy that.

We put gamma ray detection sensors inside the next rocket.

Gamma rays are a higher intensity X-rays,

and we have detected them in the east field

where the cow died last year.

So if we do see gamma rays, we'll record it.

Then we also installed a camera on top of that

in case the rocket encountered anything out of the ordinary.

Be advised that's a 500-feet safe zone.

10-4. We're racked, armed, ready.

Going back. We'll reach back out when we're there.

ERIK: With large rockets of this kind,

there are always safety concerns.

There's always the possibility, however remote,

of an explosion or fire.

So we've been advised to stay at safe distances

from each of the rockets according to their sizes

and we've got fire extinguishers on hand just in case

there are any brush fires out here in the dry brush.

We are now armed and ready for our countdown.

Travis, start your countdown.

-We are in the safe zone. -This is launch control.

We are ready for launch in five,

four, three, two,

one, ignition.

Oh, man! Look at that.

Jay's team, keep your eyes on it.

There it goes!

Main chute deployed.

Good chute, good chute!

It's gonna hit the tree, right in the tree.

We have eyes on the rocket, it's down.

The second rocket was awesome.

It was powerful enough to reach

that mile-high zone above the triangle area.

It also got data on gamma rays and video.

Let's take this inside and see what it has to tell us.

TRAVIS: So before we launch another rocket,

we wanted to take the opportunity

to analyze what it recorded.

-All right. -There you go.

-Okay. -There's our device.

-Still on. -Still alive.

-Still alive. It made it. -All right.

All right.

Oh, hot.

The moment of truth.

How many data points are we looking at?

Um...

-I got a lot. -Oh, yeah.

Well, we've got over a hu... we've got over 120...

123, looks like.

Um, so I don't see anything above background.

-So... -ERIK: Okay.

ERIK: Unfortunately, the analyses that were performed

shows us the gamma ray instruments

did not log any particularly high radiation levels,

whereas we had some indications last year.

But we cannot allow ourselves to become discouraged

when things don't go as planned.

In fact, this is data.

This is telling us something.

So, we have to keep going and see what happens.

Our next one is the payload.

Erik, it's gonna have a transmitter,

it's got the, uh, dosimeter.

-It's got the camera. -Okay.

So, uh... you've got to go with that payload

-Yeah, I've got to set that up. -up to the launchpad

-to turn it on, right? -Right.

And I'll have a spectrum analyzer with me up there.

-Okay. -A portable.

TRAVIS: After two good launches,

Erik is going up to the mesa with some more equipment

to prepare for the next rocket.

THOMAS: Oh, here comes Erik

-with our next payload. -Oh, cool.

TRAVIS: Along with the camera, we put a dosimeter

in the payload of this next rocket

to see if we could measure any harmful ionizing radiation

above the triangle.

It was that kind of radiation

I got exposed to last year at Homestead Two

that left burn marks on my hand and my face.

So, we wanted to see if the mile-high zone

above the triangle area might actually be the source.

Launchpad to launch control.

TRAVIS: Launchpad, this is launch control. Go ahead.

Okay, we got the first, uh,

class-one with the payload camera ready. Igniter in.

Are you okay to go with the next launch?

-Oh, yeah. -Yep. The rocket is on the pad

and it's ready to roll.

TRAVIS: Guys, the air traffic is clear.

We're going hot with the launch control box.

We are armed.

-We're ready. -We are ready for launch

in three, two, one.

Ignition.

THOMAS: We've got deployment.

TRAVIS: Good chute.

Oh, I see here. See it right here?

TRAVIS: All right, team. Keep your eye on it.

Wait, wait, wait, wait, what's this right here? What's this?

TRAVIS: We got something, we got something!

We got something right here!

Guys, we just had a UAP appear, uh,

in the same spot as last year.

There is no aircraft in the area and the UAP appeared.

Are you all right? I don't understand how nobody

else can feel that.

Hey, Travis. Dave started having

all the hair on his body standing on end.

TRAVIS: We got something right here!

Guys, we just had a UAP appear

in the same spot as last year.

TRAVIS: Launchpad, do you copy?

THOMAS: Yes, we copy.

We're looking for it and you said there was

no aircraft in the area, correct?

There is no aircraft in the area.

We're clear for 20 miles

of air traffic and then the UAP appeared

just like last year and vanished.

It would have been off...

So, it would have been right out in here.

TRAVIS: I would suggest

if you have some other class-ones ready

get them ready to go, rapid-fire.

THOMAS: Copy.

DAVE: Whoa.

-(exhales sharply) -BRYANT: Are you all right?

-DAVE: Do you guys feel that? -Uh, no.

-THOMAS: No. -DAVE: I don't understand

how nobody else can feel that.

I don't get it.

Look at his arm.

-It is not cold out here. -Something's up.

So, we hear Travis on the radio,

uh, say, "Hey, I think we saw something up there,"

and, uh, my eyes just kind of lit up.

I'm like, "Yeah, well, I'm feeling like my hair

is getting almost pulled out."

Whoa, that was strong.

My hair on my arms would

just stand up, and it was

kind of weird, it was a very fast wave,

but it was a very intense wave.

BRYANT: Hey, Travis.

We also, at the same time, had Dave from Loc

experiencing all sorts of magnetic anomalies on his body.

We're monitoring that here closely.

TRAVIS: Uh, okay, well, if there are any other symptoms, let us know.

Are you okay to go with the next launch?

THOMAS: Can we get one more up right now?

Yeah, let's get her up there.

There's definitely something going on.

But we had a job to do, we had to get rockets in the air

and get the instruments up, so focus up, get to work.

-Let's do it. -JAY: All right.

(exhales sharply) That's so crazy.

I can't believe nobody else can feel that.

I've got something going on, too, now.

Okay, well, good. Making me feel like I'm a nutjob.

We'll have it up in just a few minutes.

TRAVIS: Roger.

We've launched several rockets now,

and down at the launch control pad here

we see this phenomenon in the sky.

And, so, I call up to the launchpad,

"Guys, we got to load the next rocket quickly."

Because we need to get as much data as we can

and maybe keep this phenomena occurring.

-We're hooked up. -All right. We'll move back.

KALEB: The range is clear. Pad two, pad two.

-Are you ready over there? -ALLEN: Yeah.

-Pad two? -We're good.

Here we go, guys. Ready for launch in five,

four, three, two, one, ignition.

We've got launch, we've got launch!

Somebody follow the rocket and make sure

we don't lose it.

Everybody, keep your eyes peeled to the skies.

-BRYANT: Chute's out. -THOMAS: Got deployment. Chute's out.

Travis, take the pad cold,

we're gonna put another rocket up right now.

I don't see the phenomena right now.

Maybe we should push forward with the big rocket.

BRYANT: All right. Copy you.

As the team got this mondo, granddaddy rocket

ready for launch,

I headed to my trailer to monitor my spectrum analyzer.

Now, we had plenty of witnesses in case a UAP appeared,

but if a major energy spike happened,

I wanted to be able to measure it in real time.

Okay, so what are we doing here?

ERIK: So, we've got several things happening with this payload.

We've got an optical clock, so this is an LED

-that's strobing. -Okay.

-We've got our Geiger counter. -Okay.

-We've also got magnetic field sensor. -Okay.

ERIK: And then, finally, we're going to be broadcasting

a sweep signal using a signal generator,

so, a lot of stuff going on here.

Yeah, that's a lot business. Good.

All right.

Hey, Erik, I think we're seeing you now.

-Are you on? -ERIK: Yes, Travis.

The signal generator is on. You should see the sweep.

Yeah, we're seeing it.

We're ready whenever you guys are. Load the rocket.

-Copy that. -DAVE: All right.

-Very cool. -Well, let's get it going.

One of the more interesting experiments to me

is the use of a signal generator.

This is a basically a radio that sends out a signal

whose frequency sweeps from

one value to another, repeatedly.

Bang that together, we're good to go, I think.

ERIK: Travis is monitoring that signal

down on the ground in his trailer

using the antenna array that we set up.

DAVE: Thanks for the help, boys.

ERIK: And as the rocket goes up

and reaches apogee and comes back down,

he's looking for changes in that sweep signal.

Any change in the signal, whether it's the disappearance

of the signal or a shift in the frequencies,

would be indicative of something strange

going on above this ranch at about that 5,000-foot level.

TRAVIS: Launchpad, launchpad.

This is Travis. Anybody got an ETA on launch?

DAVE: Launch control, we are arming the electronics right now.

All right, guys. Checking, uh, radar.

We are clear.

Skies are clear, we're ready for launch

if I can get a go from everybody.

DAVE: Launch control, we are at a safe distance

and we are ready to go and everything looks clear.

ALLEN: Copy that.

We're about to begin the countdown.

Five, four,

three, two, one, ignition.

We've got liftoff.

JAY (laughs): Oh, my gosh.

-Up there. -THOMAS: That was perfect.

That is unreal.

TRAVIS: Oh, my God, during launch,

the electromagnetic spectrum is going crazy, guys.

I've never seen anything like it.

BRYANT: Awesome.

Well, it looked amazing from up here.

-There we go, we got a chute. -THOMAS: Look at that.

BRYANT: We got a good chute.

TRAVIS: You wouldn't believe what I'm seeing on the spectrum.

I can't wait till you see this data.

It's absolutely unbelievable.

BRYANT: Yeah, we can't wait to see it, either.

The spectrum analyzer just died.

Erik's spectrum analyzer just died.

TRAVIS: There is no way to explain that.

Before I ever came here, I would've just thought,

"So what? A machine broke."

But here we're correlating events and repeatable results.

Oh, look at that!

The same thing happened at the triangle last week,

when we used a Tesla coil

to send electricity into the ground.

What happens is this entire interface just shuts down.

TRAVIS: That's crazy.

It was like the ranch

was stopping us from recording data.

So we were all really anxious to see just what would happen

when we launched another rocket.

All right, guys, I'm gonna head back to launch control

and watch the launch from there.

I saw it go into the cloud, I never saw it come out.

KALEB: Launchpad, we have continuity.

TRAVIS: Man, look at that!

TRAVIS: What the hell?

You guys see the rocket?

We have yet to find it.

I'm not seeing anything.

(bang in distance)

Thought I just heard the chute go.

You'd think we'd see it.

I heard it.

THOMAS: Oh, there it is, right above us.

That right there.

BRYANT: Travis, we've got eyes on it.

It's looking like it might come right down on top of us.

Oh, yeah. Yeah, we've got it. I see it.

BRYANT: Hey, launchpad to recovery team.

We will go ahead and pick this one up.

It's up here on top of the mesa with us.

-KALEB: Copy. -(exhales)

Here we go. All of a sudden.

We're... Yep, nope. Whoa, whoa.

That's a big one.

-Heavy. -ERIK: I can see that.

My legs, too.

BRYANT: So, there's absolutely something

going on right now.

I'd have to say that this year,

this is probably one of the most intense moments

we've had so far.

We have meters going off

and have an individual here that's having a crazy reaction

with whatever magnetic anomaly is going on right now.

Hey, Travis. This is Bryant.

Yeah, we copy. What's up, Dragon?

Dave is feeling somewhat of the strangeness in his body.

He started having all the hair on his body

and his arms and everything standing on end--

-(exhales) -something's up.

Dave still is getting little waves

of this magnetic sensation in his body.

We might have to bring him down.

-Uh, you know, I'm getting to wonder... -That's gonna be... That...

Allen, is that something that y-you'd swap

-with him or something? -ALLEN: Yeah.

and away from the launch site and make sure he was okay.

But we were also really eager

to regroup and keep launching rockets.

'Cause I wanted to see if we could keep stimulating

whatever we saw in the sky to appear again,

so we could figure out just what the heck it was.

-THOMAS: All right. Bringing my end down. -BRYANT: Here we go.

TRAVIS: We're about to launch. We want all eyes on this one.

'Cause it's got an expensive payload in it.

-BRYANT: Is it in? -Yep, go Dragon. You're in.

-In like Flynn, baby. -I've got the weight.

TRAVIS: We've got this last, big rocket ready to go.

We've got a lot of lights on it, we've got it,

uh, lights and beacons on the inside of it,

and it's gonna get up to probably seven, 8,000 feet,

and it's got a lot of instruments

on the inside of it, too.

So, number one, I hope we find the rocket,

and number two, I hope it collects some really good data.

Number three, maybe it'll stimulate something exciting.

We saw what looked like

a little short burst of lightning in the sky.

-You got it? -Oh, it's... -All right, do your thing.

ERIK: As always, we pay special attention

to coincidental or concurrent things.

Anything that generates an unexplained

electrostatic discharge is potentially interesting to us.

-THOMAS: There it is, guys. -BRYANT: There... Oh, man.

-JAY: Sweet. -TRAVIS: Glad we put all that glowing stuff on it.

TRAVIS: I guess let's just, uh, let's head back down.

I really want to go investigate this particular event

from the perspective of our surveillance cameras,

and see if it had something to do with this launch.

You know, we need to process it and look through it tomorrow,

figure out what just happened.

TRAVIS: After launching all the rockets yesterday,

we were eager to meet with Brandon.

Oh, I think I hear Brandon coming in.

to show him everything we saw and recorded...

How's everything going, buddy?

...but we really wanted to see

how far he would let us go next

in order to keep investigating the triangle.

Well, I'm looking forward to this report,

and, uh, ready to dive in.

Well, you know, we were, we were just reviewing some of the data.

This year was a completely different undertaking.

-Yeah. -A lot more rockets and a lot bigger.

Yeah, we actually got up to about 13,000 feet

on one of them.

-Wow. -Yeah, it was pretty significant,

and we had similar events happen this year.

-Oh, yeah. -BRYANT: Yep. When you undertake

a rocket launch like this, you know,

you bring professionals in.

These guys, that's what they do for a living and, one of them,

it was crazy-- he started feeling, you know,

all the hair on his body stand on end.

THOMAS: And goosebumps

all the way up his arm.

And it got to a point where we had to bring him down

off the mesa and bring him down here to kind of...

so he would feel better.

-Yeah. -At the same time, all these guys

were up on the mesa

and we had just launched a rocket.

We did have, for about three seconds,

that same glowing, silver sphere

appear at that same spot.

And it looked just like the one that was there last year.

Wow. So, we continue to see repeated evidence

and repeated events with correlations.

Yes. I do have one of the clips

as viewed from down here at the command center.

-So, I'll bring that up. -BRANDON: Awesome.

ERIK: We're looking, uh, towards the right extreme,

just as the rocket launch had initiated.

I'm going to zoom in on it.

BRANDON: Wow. That's extraordinary.

TRAVIS: It is extraordinary, and it's interesting

that we see, when we're doing these things,

something about that spot.

Well, for something to appear at all,

it doesn't matter whether it's a few seconds or minutes.

Something is there. It's present.

Our speculation is that there may have been a response

-to what we were doing there. -Mm-hmm.

Well, we actually got other scientific data, though, from...

So, this is gonna be one of our larger payloads.

...but that is really interesting.

Why is it every time you're trying to monitor this area

or conduct an experiment,

something happens of an anomalous nature?

-Well, it suggests there's something there, right? -Yeah.

I don't know.

BRANDON: In light of all of these combined

incidents being recorded, what would you propose?

Well, we've kicked this topic around

amongst ourselves about using the helicopter

as a long dwell time test platform.

Right.

ERIK: I think we all agree the best way

to get reliable data is to have

more time in that location with our instruments,

to take measurements right there at that 5,000-foot level

and once and for all determine whether or not

there's something happening with the magnetic field,

with electromagnetism, with gamma rays.

I want to do that with a helicopter above the ranch.

THOMAS: You know, Cameron is one of the greatest pilots

that I have ever been around, and if there is a safe pilot

that can go up there and-and hit this target, it's Cameron.

BRANDON: Yeah, well,

I think we dive into it.

And I-I give you full authority

to immediately implement what needs to be done

in order to better understand what is at work, and really,

the agenda and origin associated with it.

Well, we really appreciate having that kind of support.

that we can't explain, and whatever the source of it is,

we're definitely gonna figure it out.

we need to fly through there with sensors.

And this is where Brandon's helicopter comes in.

I'm really excited to be a part of this next experiment

and I can't wait to see what the results are.
