and may contain mature subject matter.
Viewer discretion is advised.
BRANDON: Dragon, what's going on? and may contain mature subject matter.
We had some crazy stuff go down.
Just after dark, there was something that
was shimmering yellowish-orange. Then it instantly vanished.
Within seconds, something flies across the sky.
THOMAS: We invited a veterinarian to look at the cow
that died last year.
As you can see, the predators haven't done their job.
DEAN: No, they haven't touched it.
There's something about that carcass
that I don't like.
This petroglyph represents two different worlds,
so it's a guardian to the portals.
The portal is a window into the supernatural.
NARRATOR: There is a ranch in Northern Utah.
It is considered the epicenter
of the strangest and most disturbing phenomena on Earth:
animal mutilations,
bizarre UFO sightings
and unusual energies that have proven harmful to humans.
For 20 years, the federal government
tried to find answers and failed.
Now a new team of dedicated scientists,
researchers and experts has taken over.
They are determined to solve the mystery and reveal...
...The Secret of Skinwalker Ranch.
ERIK: So, Colonel Alexander has told us
that he's receptive to having a conversation today.
I've actually got him standing by.
So, why don't we give him a call?
All right, yeah.
TRAVIS: After the recent bizarre events
that have happened on Skinwalker Ranch,
we really wanted to speak with a credible investigator
with past experience here.
Luckily, Erik Bard was able to convince
John Alexander to have a video conference with us.
John is a retired U.S. Army colonel,
and he was also a member of Robert Bigelow's team known as
the National Institute for Discovery Science.
They investigated the ranch for over two decades.
And this is the first time someone from that group
has been willing to engage with us.
Colonel Alexander, do you hear us?
-Yeah. -Good morning, John.
This is Erik speaking. I want to thank you
for taking our call today.
So, John, I understand you came on very early,
as soon as Robert Bigelow bought the property.
Um, actually, I was with him the day he bought the ranch.
We had a number of very, uh,
phenomenal events occur.
BRANDON: After acquiring the ranch in the 1990s,
Robert Bigelow immediately locked the property down,
established 24-hour security and launched
what was an unprecedented
scientific investigation of the property.
They ended up encountering all sorts of strangeness.
Everything from cattle mutilations, to UFO phenomena,
to what can only be described as poltergeist-like activity.
But most of what Mr. Bigelow and his team
reported on the ranch remains
either classified or confidential and is locked away.
So, John, we've been talking about
the events that have happened here on the ranch,
and more specifically, out at the homestead area.
And I understand that this is, uh,
something that you're very knowledgeable about,
and we're hoping that we could get your perspective
on the things that happened out in the homestead area.
Like you, we had this instrumented.
We had cameras that were working, uh, 24/7.
We did a lot of monitoring.
You know, radiation and things, uh, of that level,
and the old homestead area is
one that seemed to specifically attract a lot of attention.
One of the things that really stand out in my mind is that,
uh, the observers are on the ridge line to the north,
and looking down upon Homestead Two,
and they see a spot of light that expands
and something came out, about six foot tall.
Now, you know how dusty
the roads are there, right?
Well, something big came out, ran off, and yet,
you don't find any physical evidence of it.
Well, we've had two events within the last three weeks
where something appeared to be stalking us or watching us,
and when we tried to find it, it vanished and there was not
a single track anywhere, and-and the roads are just
as dusty now as they were then, so it should've left tracks.
Right.
One of the things that you did mention, though,
about being stalked-- one of our guys, he talks about
having another experience
out at the old Homestead area.
I put in, again, the very high strangeness, high credibility.
This was in the night.
And there seemed to be something moving across the trees...
...where, you know, you get a distortion, but it's not clear,
that... just that something might be there.
That's interesting. We saw something that we described
after the fact as looking like a predator.
It was there one second, and then it was just gone.
Yes, we had those kinds of experiences.
Some of our people-- they're out, uh, late at night.
This is in the winter, and they look up,
and there's something up in the trees.
And it looks like it's above one of the cattle.
One of our guys had a rifle with him and shot.
Whatever it was
fell out of the tree
and disappeared totally.
They went out the next day,
and I said it was winter,
and there was some snow on the ground,
and the one thing we found was this track that looked like
a gigantic raptor.
I mean, three-prong,
we're talking out of Jurassic Park kind of raptor print.
And could not find
any other tracks, uh, whatsoever.
I've never heard that story.
BRYANT: So, this is
a pretty amazing story.
I don't know what to think of it
because I've never seen anything like that,
but given his history and his past,
I don't know why I shouldn't believe it.
Of all these strange phenomena
that-that happened when you were here,
and even speculate some, what do you think it is?
I'm not even sure how to begin
addressing the complexity of that.
Now, it's my view that these things
are all connected in some way.
I would say the area is a portal.
It's like multidimensional reality.
And I think, periodically,
the dimensions overlap,
and when they do, those sorts of things
that you see are just as physical
as you sitting there right now.
But when it separates, it's gone.
ERIK: I find it both interesting
and a bit jarring to hear Colonel Alexander state,
in such matter-of-fact terms,
that the ranch is, in fact, a place where portals
to unknown dimensions actually open and close.
TRAVIS: If we're actually dealing with a portal,
one explanation could be that it's a wormhole,
which is theorized to be a literal gateway
between two different dimensions in both time and space.
Now, it might sound like something
out of science fiction,
but not only did Albert Einstein
believe they could actually exist,
I've had my own experiences here
that made me wonder if it's possible, too.
It just keeps on going all the way across the spectrum. Wow.
Last year, I was awakened in the middle of the night
on the ranch when my spectrum analyzer
suddenly started detecting incredibly high energy spikes.
I'm seeing all these signals from the microwave band,
all the way down past the ham bands at 35 megahertz.
Now, to do that, it would be...
I don't even know how we would do that.
That... it's almost impossible.
The question is, is this crazy signal we're seeing
creating some type of event
that is something like Einstein was theorizing?
What if the only way to explain all these things
is with a wormhole?
So, we're looking at what experiments we can do
that, uh, hopefully,
we can either detect one of these portals...
-Mm-hmm. -...stimulate a portal,
or something to see what it could be.
Despite the complexity, I think
that's a good thing to do,
and I think you're adding to the data.
And that's critically important.
John, we all offer our thanks for your time
-and for the things you've shared with us. -Yeah.
Really insightful. I look forward
to the next chance we have
to meet and talk about what we've found.
-All right. Thank you, now. -TRAVIS: We'll talk soon.
Bye.
Well, I think that was a great call.
I agree. No, he was very insightful.
What can we do to follow up on
what we learned in the discussion?
-What would you do? -TRAVIS: I have some ideas.
Let's first assume that somehow there's a portal that appears.
If it is a doorway, it's got to be something
like a traversable wormhole, so there's gravitational anomalies.
So, if you had laser beams
scanning the area when this occurred,
the beams would... would bend,
move or... or maybe they're color-shifted.
-So you could see visible light turned into something else. -Maybe.
It's a good place to start, for sure.
-TRAVIS: Let's do it. -THOMAS: I agree.
-Travis and Erik are here. -Oh.
Well, we didn't lose anything.
I think we got everything else we need, at least for now.
While we're arranging to get experts and equipment out
to the ranch to help us conduct our laser experiment,
Thomas Winterton had the idea of constructing
an observation tower at the southernmost point
of the property to act as a base of operation.
If we can just get two more sheets
of plywood up there, grab these two posts, and then we can
haul the rest of it up with the Polaris.
-What-what do you guys think? -Sounds good to me.
-Let's just get it done. -Somebody getting cranky.
Go.
THOMAS: The south side really has
the best view of the ranch, including the mesa.
You're able to see clear back to the Uintah Mountains.
And it really gives you a 360-degree view
all the way around that's just remarkable.
Let's line it up on one side first.
Yup. Yup. Get your end flush.
THOMAS: With all the sightings that we've had in the sky,
and with everything that's going on here at the ranch,
it's going to be great to have
another observation point further away
that can give us a different perspective
and give us another set of eyes on
what's going on here at the ranch.
It looks pretty close.
We need a camera on each corner, looking in every direction.
THOMAS: Well, I mean, you guys can see the view.
This is the place for observation here.
This tower is not only going to be great
for our laser experiment,
but since we're about to bring
a new herd of cattle onto the ranch for the summer,
it'll also help us keep a better eye on them
and make sure they're safe.
Well, let's keep slinging hammers.
-Okay. -Okay. Sounds good.
TRAVIS: We're almost there.
-Go, cows. -TOM: We've come up with this
cattle tracking system that we're gonna use
that might shed some light on what happened last year.
KANDUS: We're meeting with Kris Porritt,
and Kris has some stories he wants to share.
KRIS: I wouldn't appreciatate
you repeating what I'm about to tell you.
THOMAS: Hey, guys.
-TOM: Hey, Tom. -KANDUS: Hey, Winterton.
THOMAS: You got the trackers?
-Yes, we do. -Got the trackers.
Good deal. Well, uh,
-we've got the cows coming in here, as you know. -Mm-hmm.
TRAVIS: While the rest of the team were doing
final preparations for the laser experiment
at the observation tower,
Thomas Winterton arranged to have a new herd
of cattle brought onto the ranch for the summer.
THOMAS: How you doing?
-Good. How are you? -THOMAS: Good.
-Good. -Appreciate you bringing them out.
Well, thanks for letting us come.
THOMAS: We're bringing cows onto this ranch to maintain
and take care of the land
and keep it grazed so that it stays healthy,
keeps it from becoming a fire hazard.
(cows mooing)
Also, the second thing is,
is each cow we put on the place becomes a biosensor.
Animals seem to have that sixth sense.
TOM: We want to make sure that
all the animals here are taken care of and protected.
Because of the strangeness of this place
and based on what happened last year.
TRAVIS: What in the world?
-(flies buzzing) -There's no cat tracks.
There's no sign of struggle. It's just dead.
TOM: I saw her this morning,
but she was alive.
I don't know. That's weird.
Appreciate you bringing them out.
And I was gonna introduce you to Tom and Kandus.
They're the caretakers that live here.
They're gonna monitor the cows,
make sure that they're all healthy.
-GLENDON: How are you? -Not bad, thanks.
-Nice to meet you. -Good to meet you. Glendon Lamb.
-Nice to meet you, Glendon. -THOMAS: They'll report to us
if, you know, if anything strange has happened.
-Sounds good. I think you'll do well. -TOM: Yeah, thanks so much.
-Nice to meet you guys. -Thank you.
-Good to meet you. -Yeah, it was a pleasure. Yeah.
See you guys.
-So, tagging time? -Yeah.
So, guys, we're gonna run them through
this green squeeze chute right here.
I'll tag them right here.
-Excellent. -THOMAS: And so, if the three of you can just
-keep the chute loaded... -TOM: Mm-hmm. -KANDUS: Okay.
...and keep pushing them up, it-it should go really quick.
-Okay. Let's do it. -Sounds good.
(mooing)
Come on. Come, cows. Turn around.
-(whistling) -TOM: Kandus and I
have been working with Erik Bard,
and we've come up with this cattle tracking system
that we're gonna use
so we know exactly where the cows are.
And hopefully, that might shed some light on anything
that happens this year.
TRAVIS: Last summer...
Three, two, one, ignition.
...as we were launching small rockets
high above the ranch that were equipped with energy sensors,
suddenly, all of the cattle started acting really strange.
Look at the cows.
BRYANT: Never seen that before.
THOMAS: Look, look, look. What is that?
TRAVIS: Then, out of nowhere, we all
witnessed something that we still can't explain.
THOMAS: It's a plane, I think.
-It's gone. -TRAVIS: Nah, that wasn't a plane.
We'd still see it if it was a plane.
(whistling)
THOMAS: Hopefully, by tracking the cows' movements,
we can correlate that and-and compare it
to when we're having events take place on the ranch.
You know, when something happens
at Homestead Two, were the cows close by?
How soon before an event did the cows leave the area?
You know, what kind of warning is their biosensors giving them?
Well, that's the whole herd.
Nice work, Winterton.
-You, too. -Well done.
TRAVIS: Oh, here they are.
-THOMAS: Hey, guys. -Hey. How you doing?
-Welcome to the ranch. Thomas. -Chris. Nice to meet you.
TRAVIS: Erik Bard and I contacted Chris Novielli
and Tim Anderson of Nu-Salt Laser
to help us investigate
if all the strange phenomena that's occurred
over the years on Skinwalker Ranch
really could be due to a possible interdimensional portal
like Colonel John Alexander from the former NIDS team believes.
Have you ever tried to open up a portal?
This is kind of a first, uh, one for us here.
I'm really interested. If you shine the laser
through it or close enough to it,
we might see a change
in the direction of the beam.
Well, daylight's burning. I know we kind of wanted
-to get set up before it's completely dark. -Yeah.
THOMAS: I'll go grab our Jeep, bring it over,
-and we'll transfer the gear. -Sounds good.
BRYANT: These guys have really brought out
a massive array of lasers.
We want to put them out by this observation tower,
and as soon as the sun goes down,
we can start this and see if we can stir some activity.
CHRIS: I got this one.
TRAVIS: What we're going to do tonight is deploy
a high-powered laser beam aimed over the mesa
and the surrounding areas to see if the light bends,
changes colors or disappears in any way.
Any of those things happen, it could be evidence
of a break in the environmental plane
or, like Einstein theorized, could be possible evidence
of an actual portal to another dimension.
We ready, guys? Y'all-y'all got everything set?
We're gonna turn those lasers on, guys.
Start scanning the mesa.
Our new observation tower is the ideal spot
for our first experiment focusing on the mesa.
If you put the laser spot right there,
then I'll look right at the spot.
-There it is. -Is that... There's two.
Last summer, while investigating a documented phenomenon
where the top of the mesa actually glows at night,
we focused a single laser beam at it.
-Look. -And strangely, the point where the beam landed
was split into two by something.
-THOMAS: How is it doing that? -TRAVIS: That is so weird.
TRAVIS: For this experiment,
we're gonna use better cameras, more instruments
and sophisticated scanning laser systems
to see if the beams actually split again
or bend or disappear.
I don't think the properties of the mesa's natural features
could actually cause or explain something like that.
It would have to be something completely different.
So, what's gonna happen
is their big space laser cannon is gonna come up
with a ginormous bunch of beams
going straight up. It's gonna be huge.
And then we'll start scanning the mesa.
We got about almost 600 watts of-of laser power
that we're about to start pumping into the sky here.
Well, let's see it. Let's go.
All right. In five, four,
three, two, one.
-Boom! -(laughter)
-Oh, my gosh. -Wow, look that.
-Look at that bird fly through it! -(all exclaiming)
Right up Main Street.
TRAVIS: It would be really amazing to prove
the existence of a portal
or possibly one of Einstein's wormholes
with this laser experiment tonight.
But if that does happen, I'm a little nervous
about what else we might prove along with it
about what's happening here on Skinwalker Ranch.
Hey, you see that?
BRANDON: The cattle mutilation phenomenon
has been going on for over 100 years.
All the female organs were removed.
The skull was removed.
The eyeballs were still there, but the skull was gone.
I can't explain it.
TRAVIS: Hey, you see that?
I got to tell you, this is...
amazing, the view you can see from up here.
If there's-- something happens over the mesa, we'd see it.
BRYANT (chuckles): That is unreal.
TRAVIS: You know, if light's gonna trigger something,
you'd think it'd be that.
BRYANT: Quite a show.
TRAVIS: Oh, wow!
Look, you can see the mesa glow in that camera.
THOMAS: Now, that looks spooky.
TRAVIS: You know, Erik, what you're recording there
is telling us a lot about
the different color reflectivity of the mesa.
It's strange how Erik's camera
is showing that bizarre glowing effect
on top of the ridge like we've seen in the past.
I'm just not sure yet what could be causing it.
We can go back and look at this video and analyze
so we can see even where they're going.
And it may give us some insight on...
on why the mesa glows sometimes.
ERIK: Yeah, you know, I... What I'd like
to look for when we go back
and play through this frame by frame
is whether we can detect any of that double reflection
-of that splitting that we saw last year. -Yep. Right.
BRYANT: Hey, guys, is it possible for you to kill
all but one beam so we can just focus on one?
-There you go. -TRAVIS: Hey, guys?
Um, so, what I want you to do is
slowly bring it down to almost treetop height
and then go up to the top
of the height that you're cleared for right there.
All right, that's perfect. That's as low as you need to go.
-Now, slowly bring it up. -ERIK: That's exciting.
No off-axis scattering here.
Yeah, I'm not seeing anything like we saw that one time.
Let's bring the laser back down onto the mesa and move it
to the, uh, east until I say stop.
-BRYANT: So, that's your right. -TRAVIS: Keep going.
Keep going. Right there.
Now slowly bring it up.
ERIK: Further up.
-Right there. Right there. -TRAVIS: Stop.
You know, I think I'm seeing, uh, some scatter around it,
uh, hitting other rocks and stuff.
ERIK: Perfect.
I think we do have all the footage.
-TRAVIS: I think we have the data we need. -ERIK: Yeah, yeah, yeah.
-BRYANT: Good. -TRAVIS: We've illuminated
the entire ranch with optical beams.
And we do realize the mesa is highly reflective
in the visible light range,
but we haven't seen what I would consider evidence
of anything strange beyond that.
BRYANT: It's not always an automatic reaction
when we do stuff.
You know, so, just because we don't see
something happening right this second,
that doesn't mean that what we're doing tonight
couldn't trigger something going forward.
-Yeah, I agree with that. -Certainly... certainly likely.
It was getting really late, and since nothing for certain
happened out at the mesa, we decided
to end this phase of the experiment
and have the guys plan to come back tomorrow night
to run some laser scans at Homestead Two.
And I was really anxious to see what would happen there,
given all we've heard and experienced ourselves.
So, uh, I think we can pack everything up
and... and head back to the command center.
I-I think it was a very successful experiment.
I really appreciate your help, guys.
-Yeah, thank you. -Thanks for having us.
KANDUS: Ryan Skinner's coming out today.
He's a ranch researcher, and he's bringing with him
an ex-deputy sheriff from the area named Kris Porritt.
-Hey, Ryan. Hello. -Hey, guys.
-Kris? Kandus Linde. Nice to meet you. -Glad to meet you.
-Tom Lewis. -Glad to meet you. -Come on over.
KANDUS: Kris has some stories he wants to share,
and he evidently was the officer
who reported one of the cattle mutilations.
So that's pretty compelling, considering he's around
to talk about it and wants to.
How did you become familiar with the ranch?
I actually met Mr. Meyers when I was working for the county,
-and he had a fascination for horses, the same as me. -Mm-hmm.
And, so, I'd come down and ride with him,
and from that time on, we became really good friends.
BRANDON: The Meyers family
acquired the property in the early 1900s.
They, along with the old original homesteaders,
really started settling the-the general area
that has now become Skinwalker Ranch.
Uh, Kenneth and Edith Myers ended up living
their entire lives on the property,
and experienced unusual events on the property.
We've heard stories about
there being a lot of locks, some weird chains.
-Did you see any of that? -He had everything chained down.
The fridge was locked. The cupboards were locked.
-Yeah? -Even his car.
Why do you think that was?
When I asked Ken about all the locks,
he says "Kris," he says, "I wouldn't appreciate
you repeating what I'm about to tell you."
And I said, "Well, your-your secret's my secret."
And he says, "I get visitors."
He says, "Alien activity."
-Wow. -And he says,
uh, "Things come up missing.
Things come up dead."
Kenneth had actually seen the aliens,
or knew what they looked like?
He could feel they was present.
And he says, "I don't know exactly why
they picked my ranch, to pick on me."
TOM: Did he talk about any visitations
that happened in the house?
Yeah. Like the screens on a window being taken out.
-TOM: Really? Okay. -Really?
And, uh, he'd tell me that,
at nighttime, he heard something strange
-while he was sleeping. -TOM: Right.
Kandus and I have experienced,
you know, crazy things that happen
on this property and especially in this ranch house.
Oftentimes, we do feel like we're being watched.
Keep going. You're right on top of it.
Last year, after Tom Lewis
and Kandus Linde began hearing strange sounds and voices
coming from below their house, we investigated a strange
concrete room in the basement that was totally closed up.
We drilled a hole through the wall,
and we ran a camera inside.
What we found was really disturbing.
Just stop right there.
-See that? -Mm-hmm.
THOMAS: It looks a lot like bones.
TRAVIS: What in the world?
What happened right here was one of the biggest tricks
you ever seen in your life.
-What it do? -Yeah? What happened?
KRIS: Ken couldn't find three heifers,
and I got here just at sunrise
with my horse, we rode all day long, and I says, "Ken,
I don't know what to tell you about your heifers."
We can't find fresh tracks, you know?
And he had a shed right here.
And Ken couldn't get the door to open.
So, we start pushing on it, pushing on it, pushing on it.
I pushed it open as far as I could to the inside,
and I looked in there, and I said,
"Ken, you ain't gonna believe this.
Your heifers are in the shed."
And he goes, "No way. How you gonna fit three cows in there?"
The heifers, stuffed in there is what you're saying?
Locked in there?
They was stacked one on top of each other like this.
-RYAN: Oh, my God. -What? -(chuckles)
-And he said, "They're dead." -RYAN: They're dead?
And I said, "The snot's still running out of their nose.
They're still alive."
And I said, "Go get a glass of water and dump that
right over the top of that heifer's head."
He did, and that damn thing come to life.
-Hmm. -Oh.
Like it had been...
-Drugged. -Drugged.
And you actually saw this
-with your own eyes? -I've seen it. Yeah.
That is an incredible story.
Kris, we'd like to hear more about the cattle
and introduce you to some more of the team.
Yeah, that'd be fine.
KANDUS: Let's go.
So, run that tube pattern.
Travis, did you feel that temperature drop?
-It does feel cold. -I felt it.
Thomas has spotted
a light down in the Russian olives
off to the west.
It should be right here.
KRIS: Right over there by that tree.
TOM: Yup.
TRAVIS: In addition to the bizarre events that Kris claims
he witnessed at Homestead One,
he also reported an actual cattle mutilation
near the command center.
And it was right near where the cow died last year.
So what time of year was it when this event took place?
I'm gonna say midsummer.
ERIK: I've seen images,
I've read reports of cattle mutilations.
It'll be nice to hear
from someone who has actually seen those animals
and exactly what happened to them
and get some kind of insight
as to what pattern might exist there.
(groans)
-ERIK: So, this is the spot? -KRIS: Yeah.
This used to be an irrigation ditch right here.
And right in here is where there was two black angus cows.
What did they look like on the ground here?
Uh...
...the head was facing toward the ditch,
and the legs were out this way.
All the female organs were removed out of both cows.
And the back end, the tail, and the uterus and everything
of the cows were right in here.
The skull, the neck bone, everything was removed.
I can't explain it.
Absolutely no blood, no burn marks, no operation.
Did you have the impression that those cows were in the location
-where they were butchered like that or...? -Yeah.
Yeah. And there was matted grass,
where something heavy had sat in these weeds
and made an impression in the dirt.
-In this same area? -Well, uh,
right over here, actually.
And that sat kind of kitty corner this way.
When I wrote the report, I put 23 feet, tip to tip.
That could be give or take a little.
I presume it was a spaceship.
I've said it, didn't I?
Was it square shaped, or was it...?
-Cigar shaped, yeah. -Kind of like the Tic Tac.
TRAVIS: Last year, the Pentagon declassified
a video taken by two Navy pilots in 2004.
This video's become known as "The Tic Tac" video.
It shows some kind of flying craft
maneuvering with a propulsion system
much more advanced than any human technology we know of.
At about the same time, it came to light
that the federal government had been funding
the Advanced Airspace Threat Identification Program or AATIP.
It's literally a program designed to study
unknown aerial phenomena, like UFOs.
So, it's pretty fascinating to me that a former sheriff
in the area is reporting what he believed to be evidence
of a UFO craft on Skinwalker Ranch that is eerily similar
to what our own government has documented elsewhere.
-That's a strong statement. -Yeah.
KRIS: You guys put two and two together.
-I'm just telling you what I know... -Sure.
...and what happened to me.
And I'm not the only person
that's experienced this kind of stuff around here.
So there had to have been something.
Something that we have no idea.
So, hey, where-where did it come from?
-I would be asking the same question. -You got it.
-Kris, this is amazing. -Thank you so much.
TRAVIS: We're here.
Once the sun had gone down,
it was time for Tim and Chris from Nu-Salt Laser to come back.
We're gonna run more experiments down at Homestead Two.
Guys, I think this spot over here
is, uh, kind of the best place to set up.
Since numerous credible witnesses
like Colonel John Alexander have claimed that they saw
actual portals and other mysterious phenomena here,
we're eager to see what happens when we poke
this nest with high-powered lasers.
What I want to do is-is kind of raster scan
back and forth right here, up and down
to the treetops and then back down.
And then at some point, I want to get hit
right in there where those-- the doors and windows are
and just kind of bounce back and forth with it that way.
-That make sense? -It does. -Perfect.
All right, guys, if y'all need anything, I'm gonna
-help them set up the other stuff. All right. -Sounds good.
I think the laser guys are getting that going.
How's this going, Erik?
-Are you ready to roll on that whenever? -I am.
ERIK: Some of the scientists who have worked here before
had descriptions of balls of light-- in other words, orbs--
as well as something that is referred to as a "portal,"
of what would appear to be a window opening up
and perhaps allowing something to move in
and out of our space through some other dimension.
All right, what about the night vision?
-That's rolling now. -TRAVIS: Okay.
While Chris and Tim were deploying the lasers,
Erik was documenting everything with a night vision camera
as well as a thermal camera.
He's looking for any anomalies for us to focus on.
We're ready if you guys want to come over and check it out.
-Oh, yeah! Cool. -Absolutely.
So, Chris is gonna set the zone.
So, I'm gonna turn it on right now.
-Test pattern right there. -Yes.
Seeing any reflection?
Stop in the middle of the doorway,
and go up and down. Uh, wait. Right there, yeah, yeah.
You got it. Now go up and... Yeah.
That's right where the phenomena has occurred before.
ERIK: Please be advised--
Thomas has spotted a light down in the Russian olives.
TRAVIS: Hey, hey, hey, hey!
-That's low power. -Huh.
And I'll slowly bring it up.
TRAVIS: I'm looking for it.
-Stuff everywhere. -60.
I'm not seeing anything coming back on anything.
With these laser patterns, we're looking for bends in the light.
Anything that might indicate something strange is happening.
On Skinwalker Ranch,
you always have in the back of your mind,
"What if a portal opened up and a monster crawled out?
What if voices start booming down from the sky?"
-Let's do the one beam. -One beam?
Yeah, the one beam right through that doorway,
just to scan through the door some.
-Okay. -Stop in the middle
of the doorway. Go up and down.
Oh, wait. Right there.
Yeah, yeah. There you go. There you go.
You got it. Now go up. Yeah.
You know, is anybody watching
the-the thermographic thing back there?
-Yeah, I gotcha. -THOMAS: You seeing anything?
KALEB: It's looking pretty normal right now.
-TRAVIS: Right there, there's not? -Nope.
That's right where the phenomena has occurred before, so...
light must not be the trigger.
THOMAS: Or it's not the trigger tonight.
-TRAVIS: Or it's not trigger tonight. -ERIK: Yeah.
I think, at the end of the day, the trigger is
when it decides to open up,
-it's gonna open up. -(chuckling)
TRAVIS: I think you might be right.
So, I think, uh,
the-the thing to do now, we're here,
let's, uh... let's just go ahead and bring it down
and let's, uh, take the laser in there
and shine across the field
and see if we can hit Homestead Three with it.
Okay.
TRAVIS: I thought that we should deploy the laser
from inside the old house at Homestead Two,
pointing west towards Homestead Three,
just to see if that might trigger something to happen.
If the ranch really does respond to different stimuli
like people believe it does, then it's worth a shot.
So, if you'll take this down, I'll get your cord
-across the canal and over there. -Okay.
Get rid of these.
All right, guys, as we walk down into the homestead area,
seriously, if you smell anything funky,
feel anything funky,
'cause this is where funky things happen.
CHRIS: Very good.
-TRAVIS: Right here. -That's a nice clean shot.
If we get about right here...
-Mm-hmm. -...I think
you'll hit the homestead right there.
Do not turn it on yet 'cause don't know
where everybody is yet.
So, I would love to be up high watching this.
You guys okay if I...
As long as you don't get downrange of the laser,
-you should be fine. -If we stay up on the north side of the canal...
You should-- If you're on that side of the road,
you're absolutely fine.
(beep)
Whoa! Hey! Something get you?
Lightning strike?
ERIK: Yeah, this is the third time this has happened today.
-Yeah. -Since we've been out here.
I don't know what's setting this off.
Well, there's no lightning, that's for sure.
ERIK: I've been keeping the lightning detector with me.
I've been using it as a kind of canary to let me know
whether there are any electrostatic discharges
taking place in the immediate vicinity
of our team.
But it was brand-new batteries, and I reset the thing
back at the command center; it was fine.
TRAVIS: Wow, that's odd.
THOMAS: Interesting.
I suppose one remote possibility
is that maybe some of the equipment here
could be doing it, but I...
Nah, those are diode lasers.
There's no high... high-voltage discharge there.
Hey, Kaleb, do you copy over there?
10-4. Go ahead.
Are you seeing anything strange
or different on the thermo image?
From what I'm seeing right now, it looks like
you got a heat, uh, circle right above you.
I don't know how to explain that.
Yeah. So, if you're gonna go
-across the road, I guess... -Right now.
...let's go ahead and do it now.
Yeah, take this radio with you, too.
Call us when you're in place,
-and then we'll turn the laser on. -Okay.
Some kind of energy spike was suddenly being detected
by Erik's meter, so who knows what it was?
But it made me think we might be onto something.
So, while we stayed near the homestead,
Erik and Thomas decided to hike up the mesa
to keep watch above the tree line,
in case something odd was really happening.
So, tell 'em I'm waving my flashlight at 'em,
so they know where we're at.
ERIK: If you look up on the ridge,
just to the west, northwest of your position,
you should see Thomas's,
uh, light on his phone so that you know where we are.
Yeah, we're down here in the canopy by the homestead.
We're-- I don't think we're gonna be able to see y'all.
Just stay-stay away from the beam, right?
We can see them.
We are well off-axis.
All right, so, uh...
I say we put some patterns on it.
BRYANT: Hey, Erik, how does that look?
What are we hitting with that beam?
ERIK: You're hitting one of the...
Russian olive, uh, trees out in the field,
far south of the actual homestead.
So, run that tube pattern.
The-the vortex pattern thing.
So, what I'd do is get it about right in there somewhere.
-Now bring it... -Hey, Travis, did you feel that temperature drop?
I did and I sm... (sniffing)
You smell something... funny?
It's hard to tell if it's just...
No, but-but, literally, I felt...
-I felt-- It felt like a-- Just instantly, right? -Yeah.
-It does feel cold. -TRAVIS: Yeah.
-Do you all feel that? -I feel that.
TRAVIS: It wasn't just cooler outside.
It was colder by about
ten degrees in that one isolated spot there at Homestead Two.
It still-- I still-- It's still going on.
-I still-- It's still... -Oh, yeah, I can still feel it.
TRAVIS: And coupled with the odd smell,
it wasn't something I could explain.
Something strange was definitely happening.
Whoa, there's a light down
-in those trees. -Where?
There was a light down in that...
-in the Russian olives down there. -Okay.
Guys, please be advised,
Thomas has spotted a light down in the Russian olives
off to the west
at the fence line.
Down the Russian olives
to the west at the fence line. Back here.
Yes. As if someone turned a flashlight on
-and off. -But where? Ask him where.
THOMAS: In the Russian olive trees over there
-on the west side. -All right,
I know where he's talking about.
I had a good look at it.
I was kind of looking in that direction when it happened.
It should be right here.
Hey, hey, hey, hey!
Right here!
It should be right-right there, where he's talking.
It's over there on the west side.
Right to the south of the tower.
Right there.
Down in the bottom, as if someone
was standing below those trees.
Wait, wait. I thought I saw something move.
I got eyes of something over here, guys!
There it is, right there.
Where'd it go?
Ask if they still see it.
BRYANT: Where-where are you seeing the light?
I don't see it now.
So we-- Let's go south,
-see if we can get a vantage. -Yeah, I don't know.
At this point...
They'd be gone.
BRYANT: Yeah, at this point, I don't think...
TRAVIS: Anything, Thomas?
Yeah, I think it's gone.
BRYANT: Okay, well, we don't see anything now,
so I think we'll head back to the laser, guys.
Yeah, I don't see it either. So I think
I'm gonna head down towards you guys at the homestead.
I think that's a good idea.
I think we've done what we can here,
and it's probably getting late enough.
TRAVIS: What was that light that was there?
And why was it happening while we're in there
doing an experiment with these lasers?
-Hey, guys. -Well, you got my adrenaline pumping.
Well, for sure, there was a light I saw.
I mean, it looked just like a...
kind of a yellowish, amber-ish...
-like if someone took a flashlight and turned it on... -Yeah.
...and off real quick. I mean...
W-Well, I-I think there was some-something,
somebody or something out there.
I wasn't sure if it was eyes or if it was,
like, a-a flashlight reflector or something.
So, from my perspective, I mean,
obviously, with the-the distance, it's hard to say.
But from where we were standing up by that telephone pole
down to the trees, I mean, it probably looked
like it was about that big around.
Travis saw something. I saw something.
It is concerning that somebody was down there,
or at least I hope it was a somebody.
With all of the instruments that we had recording tonight,
there is a mountain of data to go through.
-Should we help these guys get packed up and... -Yeah.
Let's get packed up. Let's get everything back in the Jeep
and let's head back to the command center.
-Yeah, thank you. -All right. -Thanks for having us.
BRYANT: Given the fact that we've heard stories
of portals opening
and strange beings opening up near Homestead Two,
I'm starting to wonder: Could this have been
a portal opening up and something from somewhere else
coming to see us while we're doing this experiment?
BRANDON: The previous scientific team that investigated the property
ended up encountering all sorts of strangeness.
Everything from cattle mutilations to UFOs
to portals that would open up above the old homesteads.
A lot of the things that we're observing at Skinwalker Ranch
defy our current understanding of physics.
TRAVIS: We don't know yet if we'll find
mundane scientific explanations
for all the strange events that keep happening
or if the truth really is much more disturbing.
All I know for sure is that we need to keep exploring
and experimenting until we find the answer.
We're gonna get a 3-D model of Homestead Two.
-PETE KELSEY: Got some stuff to show you. -Something odd happened here.
When you walked inside the building,
it didn't take any data.
I do sense a presence here.
ERIK: The temperature around the homestead began to drop.
BRYANT: Hey, are you guys seeing anything?
We're looking at an eye.
This ground here is the gateway
-for skinwalkers. -What I saw doesn't belong here.
-I'm a little nervous. Hold on. -Hey.
