an amazing support system

So even being able to be here
and raise awareness for that

and an obsession for me.

decorating my home

for a gigantic Christmas party
that hundreds and hundreds

of people attend every year
to showcase

my Christmas designing business.

And it is epic.

I've actually made
a business out of it.

I do the Raiders Stadium
now every year too.

It's crazy.

- I would approach this,
if I were you,

as if I was designing
my house for Christmas,

with all of the Shannel-isms
that you bring to that house.

of pouring out over the dress

and down over the side
and then create these splatter

marks down at the bottom.

You know, what I wanted to do
was something that was inspired

by letting your colors show.

I've ever sewed in real life.

So I'm thrilled
I can't be eliminated.

I'm thrilled.

So I'm like, all right, I just
want to go down the runway

and look presentable.

Why did you choose them?

- I wanted to play for
an organization that speaks

directly to LGBTQIA+ youth
who are struggling and battling

with thoughts of suicide.

And so I'm really proud
to play for Trevor.

I'm proud to use
this platform to give voice

to an organization
that's saving lives.

When I was in college,
it was a story

that I shared on my season when
people broke into my dormitory

and threatened to kill me.

This underground hate group
took it

upon themselves to harass me.

I don't want anyone to ever
feel that way that I felt,

that I wasn't good enough
or that I didn't belong.

After all of those things, I
was ready to take my own life.

Therapy and conversations with
LGBTQIA+ people saved my life.

So that's why I chose Trevor.

- I know that you are
a design queen.

You know how to sew.

- I am a orchestrator, so yes.

- What is your aesthetic?

- I think my aesthetic grew
to be more Asian-esque.

Just the finesse
of a powerful Asian woman.

I just try to put it
into every single one

of my looks nowadays.

- Now, you grew up in Vietnam.

- I did.

I grew up with my grandparents.

They raised me
until I was like 10

and then I came here
and met my mom.

Or like, actually live with her.

- Yeah.

- I was very shy, timid, scared,

more scared than anything.

- Scared of what?

- Of what other people might
think about me, I think.

Growing up Asian
and then being thrown

in mostly a white school,

you get bullied
for where you're from.

You get bullied because you
can't speak English properly.

So I wasn't healthy.

I didn't love myself.

And that's why I'm competing
for any Asian kid

that can look at me
and see themselves.

My charity is
the Asian American Foundation.

They've raised over 140 million
for anti-Asian hate

and teaching AAPI history.

- This is a great, great cause.

Today I'm proud to be an
Asian immigrant drag queen.

And I want to showcase
my pride on the runway.

so amazing to where the

But I've always felt like
I've had unconditional love

from my pets.
