for home security.

And over 25% of Americans

use them to catch
unimaginable events,

right at their doorstep.

Including the miracle of life?

In Fredericksville, Virginia,

this expectant mom
asks her neighbors

for help getting
to the maternity ward.

[woman speaking]

But halfway down the walkway,

her water breaks...

[woman] Oh, my God.

And this mom is forced
to give birth

in the front yard.

[baby cries]

And after just 15 minutes,
the baby arrives.

I guess now they don't need
to go through the trouble

of making a whole movie.

But not all deliveries
are welcome.

[tires screech]

Front yards are a battlefield
of frighteningly close calls.

This guy's just out
fixing the sign
in front of his business.

When he narrowly
avoids being hit
by an out of control car.

But others aren't so lucky.

This unsuspecting guy
is dumping water
in the street,

when he is struck
by a drunk driver

racing over 60 mph.

Bystanders rush in to hell.

And he's rushed
to the hospital,

and miraculously suffers
only minor injuries.

Doctors believe it's due
to his acrobatic toss off.

When he soars through the air,
he lands on his side.

Spreading the impact over
his entire body,

instead of just one spot.

But not all people hit by cars
can be as graceful.

In Adelaide, Australia,

this daring dude is trying
to make it across
a busy street

when the driver drifts
off road and plows
into this speed walker.

As the guy goes flying,

the driver continues
over the lawn.

He smashes
into a tire shop window.

And totals his vehicle.

The pedestrian
was rushed to the hospital

with non-life threatening
injuries and recovered.

However, the driver somehow
pled "Not guilty."

But this footage was able
to get him charged

with a basic count of driving
without care.

And forced to pay a fine.

But not all cars
go off the road by accident.

In peculiar Missouri,

this white truck is on the run

and thinks
this suburban backyard

is the perfect hiding place.

He executes a Tokyo drift.

I guess you might
call it a "Suburban slide."

The sheriff closes in.

But this doofus
ain't done yet.

And he reverses
into the jungle gym.

Sorry, kids.

There comes a point in time
where chasing somebody

creates more danger
for the public

than it does
by not apprehending them.

Is it a traffic infraction?

Are they a violent felon?

Are they wanted for something
that's serious enough?

That dictates whether
you can chase somebody or not,

or should chase
somebody or not.

The driver was arrested
for stealing the truck.

And the chase
ended peacefully.

But not everyone
goes as quietly.

[tires screech
and glass shatters]

[Art]
In Houston, Texas,

a fugitive is on the run
in a stolen vehicle.

And has made his way

into a residential
neighborhood.

[officer speaking]

[Art] The Harris County
Sheriff's Department

has cornered the vehicle
in a civilian's driveway.

And he smashes into the house.

[officer speaking]

[Art] Believing
the chase is finally over,

cops rush in to extract
the suspect from the vehicle.

But he's not done yet.

The suspect hits the gas.

Freeing the vehicle
from the home.

And runs over an officer
in his SUV.

Like a cornered animal
with nowhere to run,

the desperate thief
fights viciously to escape.

Law enforcement has no choice
but to open fire

and neutralize
the dangerous suspect.

They managed to pull the
struck officer out of the way.

[officer speaking]

[Art] The officer sustained
critical injuries
but eventually recovers.

But the fugitive was shot
and killed in the incident.

The idea of surveillance
is intended to be a deterrent.

The use of cameras
are prevalent,

and they do deter.

And if a motion is involved,

that person may not be
deterred by a camera.

[Art] But home
security cameras

see a lot more
than vehicular chaos.

In the United States,

a breaking and entering
incident

happens every 30 seconds.

He is just hungry for a meal.

And chase the bear
out of their home.

[Art] But some trespassers
are just looking for a party.

ugly situation.

But the majority of break-ins
are horrifying situations.

In Overland Park, Kansas,

a team of burglars have broken
into this woman's home.

One of the men holds her down

as the others
case the apartment

and grab cash and goods.

[woman breathing heavily]

[Art] The woman desperately
tries to call for help...

[woman] Please don't hurt me.

...But to no avail.

[man speaking]

[Art] Suddenly,
one of the burglars

realizes they're on camera.

[man speaking]

[Art] Just as his accomplice
grabs the safe...

the female crook
obscures the security camera.

But it's too late.

The nanny cam has already
recorded them in action.

Two of the burglars
were arrested
and charged with robbery.

And sentenced
to two years in prison.

But the third robber
is still at large.

In San Francisco,
a suspicious looking man

is pacing nervously
outside a suburban home.

When the homeowner
returns through his garage,

the unthinkable happens.

[screams]

[Art] In San Francisco,
a man is returning home
after working the night shift.

And is attacked.

[grunting]

The assailant forces
the homeowner to drop his keys

so he can steal the car.

The invader is armed
with a pistol,

but the victim isn't giving up
without a fight.

He pulls a reversal
on the armed assailant,

wrestling him to the ground.

And attempts to figure four...

as he tries to pry the deadly
weapon away from him.

He gets the gun and suddenly
the tables are turned.

Police were unable
to track down
the attempted robber.

And the homeowner fought off
the invader his own way.

[thudding noise]

are just breaks.

This couch potato is catching

his house repairs.

A fuel shortage in Mexico

is creating a black market
for gas and oil.

In one month alone,

thieves can steal
over 7.5 million tanks of oil.

They should have come up
with a plan to avoid
the barbed wire by now.

And practice their backflip.

The tumbling twosome
were never found.

But not all gas capers
are successful.

Apparently, there's a secret
epidemic of flatulence
in this country.

In Sanger, California,
it's Fourth of July,

and a neighborhood firework
show is lighting up the sky.

When a stray roaming candle
lands in a bucket filled
with a flammable substance.

Igniting a fire
on this front porch.

This guy on his way
to a cookout

notices the combustion
on the neighbor's doorstep.

And knocks on the door.

But instead of waiting around,
like a true patriot,

he takes action
and grabs a garden hose.

The firefighting hero
was never identified.

And the homeowner's
property was saved
from potential catastrophe.

In Nebraska, a family
is gathering on the front lawn

to enjoy the Great
American pastime

of pretending they know
how to use explosives.

While one woman recounts
a firework incident gone bad.

Her family sets up
a bottle rocket,

breaks out
the barbecue lighter,

and employs the light and run
approach to fireworks safety.

But when the bottle rocket
gets stuck in the ground,

the real show begins.

Ding dong ditch
is an American pastime,

where you ring a doorbell
and make a run for it.

And these kids
in a suburb of Houston

are planning
their attack carefully.

And use the roll and crawl
method of approaching
their unsuspecting neighbor.

These juvenile ding dong
ditcher's could get hit

with trespassing, harassment,
or vandalism charges,

depending on how annoyed
their neighbor is.

[Art] But they've been caught.

And scared out
of their shorts.

to their future capers.

[Art] In Nebraska,
a Fourth of July
party goes wrong

when a bottle rocket
explodes sideways.

Fiery shrapnel hits onlookers,

and lands near the back
of their minivan,

on top of their
stockpile of fireworks.

[all screaming]

Families run for their lives.

And are hit
with stray fireballs.

While the fireworks
show of a lifetime

blasts through the front yard.

The minivan was filled
with thousands
of dollars in fireworks.

And when the rogue rocket
strikes the pile,

50 pounds
of dynamite blast off.

When the smoke cleared,
there was no injuries,

and the homeowner doused
the flames with a garden hose.

The rogue fireball cost
over $50,000 worth of damage.

But sometimes
the fire starter...

is just a good boy
looking for a treat.

[gas stove ticking]

Quick,
fetch the fire department.

Animals caught on camera.

So cute, right?

Well, not when they're
out for blood.

[dog barking]

In California, this family
is just getting home.

But a coyote is stalking
the little girl.

and dad steps in.

The animal isn't
ready to walk away.

Coyotes are known to attack
with intense precision.

They bite at the legs
of victims
that attempt to escape.

Experts recommend
throwing sticks

He scared it off.

and the coyote, uninjured.

At an elementary school
in West Virginia,

a principal is outside
unlocking a dumpster.

But there's more
than just trash in there.

[animal growls]

a jack in the box.

A deadly jack in the box.

He "bear"-ly gets away
before the beast
runs off into the woods.

We know what a bear
does in the woods.

And I think
this principal did that too.

Garbage cans
are a known hiding place
for hungry wildlife.

This unsuspecting guy,
waiting for an uber

is a little too close
to a trash panda's lunch.

Raccoons are responsible
for over 15,000
injuries every year.

And rabid animals
cause an average
of eight deaths annually.

This one scares the guy
away from his lunch.

But settles on the lawn
across the street.

Maybe he learned the trash
is always greener
on the other side.

A family in Arizona
gets a doorbell call

from a little girl
who wants to play.

[Art] But she's not alone.
