Original subtitles

Goodness!

That thing in your hand is a little dangerous.

Practice now. This is your duty.

I don't want to. It is stinky and heavy.

No. Why are you wearing my overcoat?

Because I don't want gunpowder on me.

Stop it and take it off.

What if something happens?

Aren't all police officers in Japan like that?

They would like to open fire, but they don't dare to.

I don't understand what you are saying.

The safety guidelines for firearms usage has been changed.

But what if you killed someone by accident?

If you are being accused of misusing your power,

you will be treated like a criminal.

This is horrible. No matter who it is for,

if you break the law, you are the guilty party.

This is a civilized country. The law triumphs all.

You did so many illegal searches and you have the audacity to say that?

Who do you think we should blame for that?

But I have a way to beat the law.

What is it?

Not get caught.

If no one finds out, any crime can be eliminated.

No. Criminal deeds will always come out.

Your falsification of the report has been discovered by the chief.

You reported me.

I don't know.

Officer Yugami.

- You cut your hair. - You noticed?

- I trimmed my hair. - It is disgusting.

You...

(Detective Yugami: Episode 6)

You are...

What? The victim was Kaitora Kappei?

Yes.

They just sent him to the hospital for emergency treatment.

He is still unconscious.

Who is that? Is he famous?

He's an egotistical entrepreneur.

He always says controversial things on TV and gets criticized for it.

Kaitora Kappei, 25 years old.

The founder of the video call app, Show Dream.

I heard he is worth 30 billion yen.

In that case, he is great but not egotistical.

He used dishonest means to acquire other companies.

He was a despicable man.

It seems like he made many people angry, just like you.

Thirty billion.

Is he single?

This single Mr. Kappei.

He was stabbed in the stomach from the front by an unknown.

The first witness, Kappei's driver. According to his testimony,

he sent Kappei here at around 9:00pm.

Then, he came back around midnight to fetch him as instructed.

And he found Kappei lying down in a pool of blood.

President!

What was Kappei doing there so late at night?

Look at this.

We're preparing for the surprise activity for the launch day.

It was posted on the net yesterday evening.

What is the surprise activity?

Was Kappei attacked when he was preparing for that?

Maybe the murderer read this Twitter post.

The person came here to wait for him.

- Where is the murder weapon? - We didn't find it.

There are too many fingerprints and footprints.

We can't confirm which one belongs to the killer.

We have no clue then.

Don't worry. Cases like this are easy.

Yes. If the suspect attacked from the front,

the victim would have seen the suspect's face.

Before that, you should pray for him to regain his consciousness.

You. My rib hurts. Give me some money for treatment.

You'd never go to the hospital.

You should go.

The victim has regain consciousness.

I didn't see the suspect.

Weren't you stabbed from the front?

I was listening to music and I got stabbed once I turned around.

I didn't have the time to see his face.

Do you have any idea who the suspect is?

There are too many suspicious figures.

How long are you going to ask the questions?

I'm a busy person who earns millions per minute.

Are you going to pay me for my time?

No, we're investigating on your behalf.

How good do you think you are?

- This means... - It means you are useless.

Please don't waste my tax money.

Thank you for your tax money.

Thirty billion at the age of 25, right?

That's great.

It's nothing.

Aren't you 25 years old too?

This...

What? You are all 25 years old.

You're useless.

What did you eat that made you lose out so much?

Right?

If you think of anything, please contact us.

Bye.

Sorry, may I have this?

We will come again.

What? I have never seen a victim like that.

What are you talking about?

You must be in good contact with big shots like that.

If you are fired, you can look for a job with him.

Do you have even the slightest shred of dignity?

No. I took his oranges after all.

Yes. It's me.

Could you speed things up?

I listed out the people who have grievances against him.

There are so many of them.

He has hostilely acquired more than 20 companies.

Those were all achieved through buying majority shares.

This is the most suspicious one.

Hoshitsuki Wataru, 72 years old.

Kappei took over a binocular manufacturer last year.

He was the founder of Star Moon.

The crime scene used to be this company's property.

But the company has gone bankrupt before it was finished.

Kappei was supposed to invest in it.

But he changed his mind and the manufacturer went bankrupt.

After the bankruptcy,

Kappei bought over the company for a very low price.

This must have been his intention.

He is a scum.

That's not all.

The president was Hoshitsuki's son, Kosuke.

He killed himself over the huge debt.

There is plenty of motives.

But this old guy is scary.

What?

Are you accusing me?

No. Your company was conned by Kappei last year.

I heard the president, your son...

Because of the huge debt, he...

My son was too naive.

His dream was to open a planetarium.

He was fooled by Kappei's words.

Really? This was not your son's fault.

Kappei was despicable.

Officer, you understand me.

Then, did you do it?

No, you jerk.

Many people hate him.

It is not just me.

Just asking.

What did you do last night?

I drank last night and went to bed.

Can anyone prove it?

I'm home.

Mitsuki, welcome home.

I have guests now.

Go upstairs.

Okay.

Is this cute girl your granddaughter?

Yes.

Does she know about your son?

Mitsuki discovered her dad's body.

But she never complained or cried.

Her mom died early.

It was just her and her dad.

Who is it?

I am Hanyu from Uji Police Department.

Please come in.

May I help you?

Sorry to bother you.

Can I ask you something about your grandpa?

Can I?

Yes.

Was your grandpa at home last night?

Do you still remember?

He was at home.

But he slept quite early after drinking.

Is my grandpa a suspect in what happened to Kappei?

Yes, Mitsuki.

Do you know anything?

He said bad things about Kappei whenever he was drunk.

But he never thought of killing him.

Kappei did not do anything wrong anyway.

What do you mean?

He didn't break any law, right?

If he was a bad guy, he would have been caught.

You are so much more mature and smarter than him.

What?

This room is good and clean.

Yes.

All right.

What is Mitsuki's dream?

Don't move.

Sorry.

This is private.

You know this word too.

Are we done?

I have to write.

Really? Sorry.

This police officer is good at doing homework.

Do it now.

(Monster hunters nearby)

So...

Are you one too?

(Red Salamander)

Done!

That's great.

So you collect the monsters.

Let me play with it.

This, right?

Let's begin.

This one? Caught?

Monster Collector, also called Pokemon Go.

It is so trendy. Do you not know about it?

This is really fun.

Fool. I don't follow the trend.

What was that sound?

Right, Mitsuki? That sound.

If there is a player nearby,

they will give this notification.

Let me look at your monster collection.

Okay, let me look at yours too.

Thanks.

That's not bad. You are good at catching them.

You are really good.

This is the first time I see this.

This is Star Swan.

I know. This is the cute duck.

This swan is good. Where did you get it?

Where was it?

Yours are cute.

This is so cute.

Let's exchange.

Sorry.

Hey, this is Hanyu.

Bring Hoshitsuki Wataru back for the investigation.

Kappei said he remembered the suspect's face.

It might be Mr. Hoshitsuki.

I said it was not me.

The victim Kappei said...

he was attacked by someone who looked like you.

What's this? Ask Kappei to come.

That jerk.

You want to get revenge for your son, right?

Even if I did, I did not kill him.

Do I look like I would kill someone?

Yes.

You do look like it.

There's testimony here. So the suspect is Hoshitsuki, right?

The other suspects all have alibis.

But why did Kappei suddenly recall the person who attacked him?

Recall?

He was traumatized and forgot.

(Monster Collector. Download)

He is good.

Please enjoy.

Where is your grandpa?

We need to ask him something else.

Why? My grandpa is not the suspect.

Please wait here.

Why?

Sir, why?

Why?

Why, sir?

Come with me.

I heard you testified. But why so sudden?

That's because I remember it suddenly.

Remember it?

Yes.

That was strange.

Most people would say I don't remember.

But you said you didn't see him.

I didn't see the suspect.

That was just wording.

I finally testified. Are you doubting me?

No.

Is Mr. Hoshitsuki really the suspect?

- Maybe. - Maybe?

So you can bring him in as an important suspect?

That's good.

It's not that easy.

What?

People were hurt because of your testimony.

Do you know?

Are you educating me?

Mr. Hoshitsuki has a granddaughter that is still in elementary school.

She was the daughter of Kosuke, the man you forced into suicide.

Who was that?

What?

You don't remember him? You basically killed him.

Are you kidding?

I did nothing wrong.

Why should I be blamed for it?

This kind of people. Mitsuki...

So he can be scared too.

He deliberately left it vague, right?

So if he was exposed,

he won't be caught because of perjury.

So Kappei was lying.

Was he covering for the suspect?

But why?

I don't think he did this out of kindness.

He only wants one thing.

Money?

- It's sex for you. - Shut up!

It might be him.

You are still here.

Thanks for your hard work.

What happened to Hoshitsuki?

We released him as we don't have solid evidence.

I see.

Police officers must have these two things.

Love and compassion for those involved in this case.

Well...

I have some doubts about Kappei.

It's okay.

Come.

This?

What the hell?

I can't catch it.

It's not easy to follow the trend.

Hello.

Are you playing this?

That can't be. I'm still at zero.

How many do you have?

That's a good one! How did you catch that?

Why not?

What?

Yes. What is it?

It's so tall.

This is the monster collection building.

The Tendo Company grew rapidly amidst the monster collection trend.

Kappei was planning an acquisition as the major shareholder.

It would seems like he was in contact with the shareholders.

So that guy will own the monster collection game?

The current president must be very worried.

So she killed Kappei to prevent the acquisition?

That's quite a leap.

If Tendo is the suspect,

then we know why Kappei protected her.

If this gets out,

the company's image will be affected and the stock value will plummet.

Kappei as the major shareholder will suffer a huge loss.

Really?

Kappei is so greedy. He might do it.

You on the other hand...

I said shut up!

Acquire us?

How could that boy do this?

That boy?

What is Kappei's relationship with you?

When he was a student,

I supported him in establishing Show Dream.

He was very thankful.

He would not betray me.

May I ask where were you on the night?

I was home.

Can anyone prove it?

No. I am single.

- Is there a problem? - No.

I found it! It really is the president's office.

I caught a monster just beside you.

This is an interrogation. What are you doing?

No.

I am a fan of monster collection.

Thank you.

This is addictive.

The monsters are everywhere.

How many of them are there?

Around 100.

So there will be more?

- Yes. - Really?

What other elements will be released?

Why are you so excited?

I have a meeting later. Please leave.

- Sorry. - Sorry.

Although Tendo has no alibi,

it seems that she is not aware of the acquisition.

There is no evidence.

The motive is murky and it is hard to continue the investigation.

Chief.

Look at this.

(Investigation Report)

(Employer: Hoshitsuki Wataru. Target: Kaitora Kappei)

What is this?

I checked Mr. Hoshitsuki's call records.

I realized he contacted Muhei Detective Agency quite frequently.

Mr. Hoshitsuki was investigating Kappei's movement.

Hoshitsuki might be constantly looking for a chance to kill Kappei.

Let's bring in Mr. Hoshitsuki again.

Hanyu. Together.

Yes.

Where is Yugami?

It seems that the monster collection game is going to have new monsters.

How many do you have now?

Did you complete it?

Really?

You are amazing!

So that's all of them?

(Monster collection. Monsters caught)

That's strange.

Did you cheat?

Did you catch all of them by yourself?

Do you know when and where they would show up?

Officer.

Mitsuki. Aren't you going to school?

I'm worried about Grandpa.

Did anything happen?

Is Mr. Hoshitsuki here?

Go home! I have nothing to say to you.

Please come with us.

Is this a voluntary investigation? I am refusing to cooperate.

Grandpa is not the suspect. Please don't do this!

If you are not coming with us,

then we will ask you here.

What?

Let's go.

Gosh!

Grandpa, don't go!

- Hey, hold on. - Mitsuki.

Chief.

May I stay with her for a moment?

Okay.

Mitsuki. It will be all right.

Mitsuki. I caught it.

Where were you? You're so lazy.

Don't invade my privacy.

Officer, you may leave. I'm fine.

You have work to do, don't you?

No. It's fine.

What work?

Right?

Mitsuki. We will stay with you.

Please don't just say things.

Everyone is a liar.

(Fool. Stupid. Go away)

I found it.

It ran.

It ran.

Hey, Mitsuki.

Mitsuki.

Come over here.

(Star Moon)

What are you showing me?

(Star Moon)

This is beautiful!

That star is called Swan Beta.

It looks like there is only one star, right?

But if you look closer, there are two stars.

It's just like you and me.

You will never be alone.

I will be by your side.

Good girl.

He said he would be by my side.

That's why you like stars so much.

(Hard work. Important friend. Memory. Astrological watch)

I never thought of killing him.

I just wanted to punish him.

Punish?

People who love money like him must be in something fishy.

I wanted to get the evidence.

And give it to the paparazzi.

I see.

Well?

So I can expose Kappei.

He is categorically denying it.

Chief.

Can we look into Tendo again?

Didn't I say it's bad to feel compassion?

There's something I can't figure out.

Kappei is planning acquisition.

It's strange that the president does not know about it.

You mean she was feigning ignorance?

I want to verify something.

Okay.

That fool is not here again.

Who are you?

- Who is what? - Weirdo.

- I am not a weirdo. - Who are you?

Don't look.

Suspicious person.

I am not suspicious. I am a police officer.

You are lying.

- What? - Show us your badge.

Easy.

Hey.

- No, right? - No.

No.

I have it.

I just don't know where I put it.

Be quiet.

Officer. This way, please.

See, she called me officer.

What were you saying?

You are noisy.

(My Dream)

This is a bribe.

Keep it quiet.

(Number Eight: A Festive Year. Single Win. A hundred yen)

Is she not here?

No. The president should not be back today.

I heard there is an emergency.

I see.

Thank you.

That kid is really smart.

Kazumi. How are things over there?

Is this a surprise party?

What was that guy thinking?

(Kaitora Kappei sent out a tweet. He had special permission to go out)

Open it up.

(A surprise at the planetarium. It will be live. Be sure to watch)

Another surprise plan at planetarium?

(Surprise Project)

Live.

How good do you think you are?

That guy.

Hey, where are you?

I came for Tendo but she was out for an emergency.

Go to the planetarium now.

What?

Kappei and Tendo should be there.

Got it. I will be there immediately.

That fool hung up on me.

Right.

Kazumi, I have to ask you for an important favor.

Mr. Kaitora!

I've waited for you for a long time.

Hoshitsuki Mitsuki.

Mitsuki.

Hopefully, you are able to kill me this time.

Why did you say my grandfather was the suspect?

Because it is more interesting.

It does not concern him.

Come. What is it?

You are here to kill me again, right?

Mitsuki.

You are here to get revenge for your fool of a dad, right?

Mitsuki.

Come. Quick.

No!

Mr. Kaitora.

Mr. Kaitora.

Mr. Kaitora, are you all right?

Mr. Kaitora.

Officer Yugami, call the ambulance.

- He's going to be fine. - What?

Mr. Kaitora.

See, there was no blood coming out of him.

Did you wear a vest to block the cut?

So you know.

You're really stubborn.

Is Tendo here too?

What is this?

It is so troublesome.

They set a trap.

A trap?

Yes.

They said they didn't see the murderer.

And they tried to frame Hoshitsuki.

Announcing where he was on Twitter.

It is to antagonize Mitsuki and lure her here.

I know what you meant on that day.

How good do you think you are?

What?

That means you are useless.

Children under 14 will not be prosecuted.

This is an important rule of Criminal Law Act 41.

If the suspect is an 11-year-old girl,

the police would not arrest her.

So you planned to punish her yourself, right?

Punishment?

Don't try to be a wise guy.

We are just preparing a surprise party.

I asked Tendo to help prepare the broadcasting process.

And I recorded your crime.

Congratulations, you are a real criminal now.

The video of you stabbing me will be spread around.

It will follow you forever.

You are dead to the society.

Stop right there. What are you doing?

Delete it now!

- Why are you blaming me? - What are you doing?

The kid who wanted to kill me is the one at fault.

Officers like you can't do anything. So I have to punish her myself.

The kid and the police are the ones at fault.

Why?

Mitsuki is only 11 years old.

(My Dream)

Dad's Planetarium. Fourth grade. Hoshitsuki Mitsuki.

I have a dream.

Together with my dad, I will open a unique planetarium.

How about this?

Wow!

Not bad.

Dad's dream of opening a planetarium...

is my dream too.

So cute.

This swan.

She showed it to us the first time we saw her.

This swan is so cute. Where did you get it?

Where was it?

But the swan was not among the 100-monster collection.

I've looked it up.

Then I found out that night. You were testing the new character.

What was it for?

Kappei's surprise activity.

Mitsuki and her dad came up with it.

See. Look.

What kind of planetarium did we want?

One where I can catch monsters and watch stars at the same time.

An exciting planetarium!

Can we catch it at the planetarium?

Once the planetarium is complete,

I want to watch the stars with Dad first.

(My lifelong dream is going to be realized next week)

(My planetarium is going to be opened)

That night, Mitsuki saw Kappei's tweet and had a bad feeling.

(Looking at the stars while catching monsters)

She was bothered by it so she went to the planetarium to confirm it.

So Mitsuki found out that the idea she and her dad came up with...

was stolen.

It was not just her dad's life.

It was the memories they shared too.

That's why she couldn't forgive them.

Mitsuki.

Don't say anything. Come here.

Quick. It's okay. I won't tell anyone.

Look.

It is so nice.

Come. You take a look too.

It's the swan, right?

It is so great.

It will look better during summer.

Wow.

You know your stuff.

I've always looked at them with Dad.

What was that star? The one you told me.

That...

Swan Beta.

Swan Beta.

Swan Beta.

Can you really see two swans together?

I miss Dad.

Of course.

But I can't see him anymore.

I know how you feel.

It's normal to be angry.

That man taught me one thing.

Why are you pulling back your investment?

Mr. Kaitora?

No matter what you do,

it's not a crime if you don't break the law.

So...

(Star Swan)

Tendo, the new character came out.

The test went well. Thank you.

Hoshitsuki is not useless after all.

I will call you later.

You...

I am not at fault.

I did nothing wrong.

I know.

Mitsuki, you're a good kid.

You did this for your dad.

I can't forgive him.

Give me back my dad!

Give me back my dad!

Give him back to me and I will be good.

I will apologize to that guy.

Give me back my dad.

Give him back to me.

You love your dad so much.

Give my dad back to me.

Give my dad back to me.

Give my dad back to me.

Mitsuki, let's go.

Let's go.

It's fine.

That kid knows what she did.

But what would happen to Mitsuki?

Because of what Kaitora did...

Someone already took care of the video.

What?

Hacked?

What do you mean?

Before that, did you look at the company's homepage?

It's bad.

I will not be threatened by you again.

Acquire it if you want to.

Hey!

What?

Who did it?

(It's great that people like Kaitora Kappei failed)

(The end of Kaitora Kappei)

(The death of Kaitora Kappei in the society)

What is this?

It spreads really fast. Good.

You're amazing.

Okay, Kazumi. This is for you.

Yes.

(Star Swan)

Good.

Mind your own business.

Like you.

Things have ended for us.

As a police officer.

(Uji Juvenile Detention)

- Hello. - Hello.

I caught it.

Hold on, trade that one with me. That one.

I have five of those.

Really?

Anything other than that then.

Officer.

How can you skip work?

You're skipping work too.

Whatever. Hold on. This is quite good too.

No. This one is better.

Give it to me.

No. Don't give it to him.

- No. - What?

Give me yours then.

No way.

You have a lot.

(Myu's Dream, Uji West Elementary)

Okay.

Hey!

This is the missing betting coupon.

You've found it.

This is a new case.

Officer Kanno's friend was killed at home.

- You killed her, right? - What?

Eriko will not commit suicide.

She wanted to get married.

These are Omi's friend. None of them are from the company.

Rock, paper, scissors.

Stop this nonsense!

Chief!

Did someone hire you?
