Dear Uncle Abe,

Thanks for everything you have done for me so far.

Even when my family threw me away

you cared for me,

nurtured me and tried really hard to protect me.

For that

I shall be grateful to you for the rest of my life

which is just a short one anyway.

At this moment

when I was stupid enough to take my own life

you came to the rescue and opened my eyes.

As you said,

I definitely don't

want to leave this world as a wasted life.

And maybe I am a sinner

and I need forgiveness as well.

But not from your God who you claim to have

killed Louise,

or the other deities of any of your competitors.

Because

what really killed Louise

was a natural disaster.

It happens every year.

And just last year there were 11 deaths

by lightning strikes in Australia.

And a lot more throughout the world.

That included people of various cultures,

sexuality,

and faiths, including yours.

So

If the punishment didn't come from above

forgiveness should also come from somewhere else.

If there could be someone
who should really forgive me

that should be Louise's parents.

I took their only daughter to the wrong place

at the wrong time,

and she is no more now

because of that.

And I've left them in unbearable pain and sorrow.

Causing such agony to fellow humans is definitely

the biggest sin,

I realise.

If sin is against fellow humans, then

forgiveness should come from them, too.

So, I'm going to them

seeking their forgiveness.

And, if they forgive me and accept me

for who I am

I'm gonna live the rest of my short life

in Louise's place,

in her sweet memories

and help rebuild their farm.

That's what Louise really dreamed of.

And I consider it my last duty

to give life to her dream.

And if I succeed in that venture,

there will be a new model and

a renewed hope for not only her family,

but for the struggling farming community.

I know, I might not be there to taste the fruits,

but, I will definitely hold on to sow the seeds.

And that way, I would have lived a purposeful life.

Because I believe, a truly purposeful life

is something that is beneficial to at least

a small part of this world where we live

rather than an attempt to secure a raffle ticket

to a glorious imaginary
destination in an afterworld.

My sincere apologies for hurting your feelings.

Even in this crisis, your belief
does not make sense to me,

just like how my belief might sound absurd to you.

But my newfound belief

has taken away the fear of death

and the fear of what happens after death.

Because, as Louise used to say

I might just cease to exist.

And I am not afraid of that.

Because I've been in that state for

millions of years before I was born.

Once you get past the fear,

Life feels very different.

It has given me a new urge to make use of every moment

that I have got left on Earth

as this is the only chance I have got,

and there could be no eternity

except for the Legacy I could leave here when I live,

that would probably stay long after I'm gone.

So

Without wasting any more time

I start my journey to be of service to humanity

as much as I can

and leave a lasting Legacy.

And that was nine years ago,

and I'm still here in this beautiful world

living in the memories of Louise

in this beautiful farm that
I built with my new family

who love me for who I am.

And by the way,

the cancer went into remission five years ago

and never came back.

I really don't know what made it happen.

Was it the treatment that the doctors gave?

Or, the drastic changes I have made in my lifestyle?

Or, the newfound reason to fight back and live?

Or, the love, care and hope

that this family gave me?

Or, the blind faith that I
kept in Louise's treatment plan

that I religiously followed everyday?

Or maybe

it's a combination of everything

that manifested this Miracle.

I now know that heaven and hell do exist.

But not somewhere over the rainbow where we would go

after death, but right here in this world

while we live.

And how do I know this?

Because I've been to both

and you're the witness for that.

And I don't worry anymore about

what happens after I cease to exist.

Because now my eulogy will read about

the Purposeful Life I lived

and the Legacy I leave will
still exist for years to come.

What more could we ask for out of life?
