and we're able

of 7,000 ounces,
which is unbelievable.

I want as much gold to go
in our pockets as possible.

of the season,
I didn't know if I...

if I had it in me.

I didn't have a crew,
I didn't have machines,

a lot of people doubted me,

but I love
proving people wrong.

I knew I had to come back here

and finish the job.

that's the bare minimum.

That's what's gonna give me
a future here.

I need the biggest gold weigh
of our season right here.

It's wildly stressful
waiting to find out

if you're gonna make it back.

has never run four plants
at the same time.

He's halfway there
with his current setup.

On Paradise Hill,

a trommel is sluicing
super pit pay dirt.

40 miles south,
his new wash plant,

Sir Sluice-A-Lot,
is running 240 yards an hour.

Now, he wants to fire up
the broken shaker deck

alongside it,

and the icing on the cake,

reboot dredge number one.

[Tony speaking]

[Kevin] I'm back.

When we left last,

it wasn't exactly
a cheerful goodbye.

There was a lot
of frustration,

I think, from both ends.

But hopefully,
we can make something

work this time and it'll be
a bit more cheerful.

of this season...

[Kevin] We've been thinking
that perhaps

this year
we might take it off.

[narrator] Eldest son
and chief mechanic,

Kevin, abandoned
the family business.

He came back in the summer...

to help get the family's
season back on track.

with his father.

The problem
is I honestly don't think

So, we've been thinking
about Tony's offer.

The biggest thing
is gonna be nailing down

what he's committing to

because we all know
like he commits now,

but five minutes from now,
not so much.

disassemble the plant,

then weld the new

into the shaker deck.

Next, he'll crane in
the seven ton deck

back onto its springs,

followed by the hopper feeder

Last little bit

I'm fairly optimistic
we can get some dirt

through it today,
if everyone stays focused.

to start dropping off.

When you get that point

above freezing

to protect the prewash

we're gonna have
to do some repairs.

[narrator] Roxanne's prewash
has impact boards

to absorb the force
from heavy rocks

before they hit
the shaker deck.

But large rocks
have ripped a hole in them

causing material to snag,

build up,
and block the prewash.

The fix, remove the blockage,

tear out the damaged boards,

and replace with new ones.

[Mitch] This is what
you could round up, huh?

I mean, the question's
gonna be is this thing

gonna last long enough,
you know.

But it certainly isn't
gonna run the way it is, so...

are showing up faster

than we can anticipate.

But this is the quickest
and fastest method

of getting back sluicing.

If we were to start
cutting plate

and installing that
with welders and all that,

we'd probably be near
the end of the day

before we even were ready
to fire up.

everything we can here

to try and get enough
pay dirt dug here

that Roxanne can run
all night.

Yeah, it's been a long time

since I've been
in one of these.

Mitch is having
a hard time keeping up.

means the pay pile

is running down faster
than they can restock it.

And right now with the rate

If this thing freezes,
we're gonna be done.

If the stockpile runs out,

with as fast as Roxanne's

but there's no way
