The newspaper is dated December 6, 2004.

That means they've already gotten out.

And since then there's been increased
interest in the jack-in-the-boxes.

They hid the diamonds in one of those

before they absconded
from the department store.

And now that they've gotten out of jail,
they're here looking for their loot.

They weren't in my jack-in-the-box.

It fell out of my hands
and a corner was damaged.

I glued it back together,

but I would definitely have noticed
if anything was hidden inside of it.

I think I have an idea how we can find out
if they're searching for the right one.
