[Episode 22]

Don't you suspect Lin Lang Tian at all?

For Qing Tan to use her poison...

she'd need the help of a cultivator above the Yuan Dan Stage.

In Yan City, aside from Master Yan and me

only Lin Lang Tian possesses a Yuan pill.

How did they cultivate together if they were captured?

Come on.

What?

Still wondering why you can't light the fire?

I'm not going.

- You're going to stay here forever? - I'm not going!

Is the Ancestral Stone on you?

Yes.

Weren't you all ready... when you were preparing to light me up?

What... do you mean?

Do you have to wait till I really die to stop depending on me?

See this? I'll hit you with this fist--

Hit me!

Old man, why don't you live?

Otherwise, I won't have anyone to bicker with.

That's all you think about!

Since you're ready, come on.

Lin Dong.

Today is my funeral. It's also your inheritance ceremony.

I'm handing you the fate of Emblem Master Guild today.

I've taught you what to say.

I, Lin Dong, willingly devote myself to the path of the Emblem Master.

I shall seek the Ancestral Emblems and purge the Yimo.

I offer the Guild Master my loyalty until the end of my days.

I, Ling Qing Zhu, shall follow the successor.

From now on, I'll protect the world!

Master! Master! Is that the Yimo?

The Yimo have already come.

It's time for this generation's successors to take their places.

Your Majesty!

The humans are so crafty!

You aren't brutal enough!

What's going on here?

Mystical Item House has assumed its original form.

Let me go! I'm a dead person, not a cripple!

- Why are you carrying me? - We have to take care of you.

If something happens to you, you'll die for real.

- Then I'd be dead too. - Let go!

I don't need your help! You're a Guild Master!

- Can't you be serious? - I know, I know!

- I'll go find the spirit map right now! - Me too! And we need to find Qing Tan.

Go on. Look how quick you are. Do you even know where the map is?

- Where is it? - "Where is it?" My ass.

- This is... - The spirit map.

- Then the one the Yimo stole... - I just drew some random map.

You're such a grand old liar!

That I am.

I just did what I had to do. All's fair in war.

What's drawn on here?

- You'd have to ask the Guild Master. - Ask me?

How am I supposed to know?

Of course you don't. You have to find someone who can decipher it.

Listen. The guild won't stop mourning.

You'll go on like I actually died.

The other disciples will keep looking for the map.

All this deception is to cover for you.

What you have to do is find that person.

Are you serious?

They can decipher something when even you can't?

All magic has its specialists.

That person is currently in Great Puppet City.

He's one of our disciples who's secretly stationed outside.

He specializes in deciphering spirit maps.

Plus, he knows Ghost Puppet Sect very well.

He's that brilliant?

All right! Then off to Ghost Puppet Sect I go!

I might as well get the Absorption Ancestral Emblem back while I'm at it.

Tell me! Where does he live? What's his name? Where do I find him?

I have no clue.

We communicate via emblem letters.

I don't even know what he looks like.

Master Yan! Great Puppet City has so many people!

Where am I supposed to find him?

From this moment forth, you're a First Seal Emblem Master.

This seal designates you as an Emblem Master.

- Keep it on you at all times. - Hold on.

Let me guess.

You're saying that I should find someone who possesses a seal.

That simplifies things. I'll just strip everyone in the city.

- I'll find the seal no matter what! - You're so slow!

Train yourself to use the Ancient Earthly Scales Spear properly!

You can't even fight, one day someone's going to roast you.

- Is my Emblem Protector coming along? - You'd have to ask her.

Lin Dong, don't be afraid! You have me, I'll protect you.

Take this. Don't let it leave you.

Relax, old man. I'll complete the task.

Have a rest!

You... I'm fine! I'm fine!

He's badly hurt and needs rest! Why are you so careless? Get out!

Make sure the Emblem Protector goes with you!

You just can't give me a break.

Take your medication.

I'm dead, not ill. Why do I need medicine?

Are you going to take it or not?

If you turn it into wine, I will.

- If you won't take it, I will. - What are they saying?

- Baring their hearts.- It's so bitter, how can you drink it?

I don't get it.

You will when you meet your own fairy maiden.

I've got to go see my fairy maiden now!

Lin Dong, when are we going to find Qing Tan?

We're going to find Lin Lang Tian first.

You've already cried in mourning once.

If you cry again, I'll be too ashamed to live.

You're better off dead.

I wouldn't have to worry then.

Then I have to live properly so that you can worry more.

I should drink this medicine you brewed.

I don't have to worry anymore anyway.

Lin Dong... the Guild Master, has already taken my robe!

Master Yan, you've always had good intuition about people.

That kid can be impulsive... but he's an emotionally strong character.

He has the potential to be great.

But if you leave and leave me here...

I'd be so lonely.

- Won't you take me with you? - For what?

I'm a chaotic old man, why follow me around?

- Master Yan, I-- - You're pretty and strong.

It's not responsible for you to take off when the Yimo are here.

The same goes for you!

The guild doesn't need me.

But it can't be without Senior Xuan Su.

- But by myself, I can't-- - I got it, I know.

You blab too much!

Anything is possible after the Emblems are gathered and the Yimo are destroyed.

- Really? - Of course.

- You can't go back on your word. - When have I ever?

Drink.

- I already did just now. - Did you?

- Yes. - Finish it.

It's too bitter.

What does he want to do?

Nothing. I just want to drink with you.

You're in high spirits for someone who lost his sister.

Wine isn't just for those in high spirits.

It can rid one of worries too.

So you are capable of feeling upset.

I'm not an idiot. Of course I have worries.

There's no news of Qing Tan.

But I'm the Emblem Ancestor's successor and the Guild Master.

I can't just sulk all day.

What are your thoughts on Qing Tan's disappearance?

Lin Lang Tian and I drank a lot of wine that day too.

We may belong to different groups

but I believe we're heading for the same destination!

I think... Qing Tan is safe with him.

But where would he go if he has her, instead of coming to tell you?

Maybe...

he took her to cure her affliction.

So "baring hearts" means drinking wine?

Then I want to bare my heart with the fairy maiden too.

Drink. Bare hearts.

I'm heading for Great Puppet City tomorrow. You should come too, right?

I have to deal with some things back at the palace.

I'll meet you at Great Puppet City when I'm done.

I'll hide my intention to find the Yimo for now.

You're not going to bail, are you?

I won't.

All right. Then I'll wait.

All right.

What was that?

Why did I do that?

I'm drunk! I get like that when I drink too much.

I'll head back for now.

Bare hearts...

Baring your heart isn't that simple.

Senior Xuan, we can find our way to Great Puppet City.

I can't believe the fairy maiden. She didn't even come see us off.

You should figure out how to take care of yourself first.

I know!

Take care of the old man while I'm not here.

You don't have to worry about that.

He told me to give this to you.

It looks like Fairy Maiden's treasure pouch.

This is a Qian Kun Bag!

It's an ancient artifact from our guild!

It may look small, but it's bigger on the inside.

It can store Yang Yuan pills and spirit treasures.

Plus, Master Yan spent all night making it for you.

How come you don't have something this precious?

Listen up, brat.

All of Mystical Item House's money is in here. Be careful.

Master Yan.

You treat me better than your own son!

He doesn't have a son. Stop spouting nonsense.

He wanted me to tell you that the Yimo that attacked him

tends to take human form.

So you must be really cautious on your journey.

Then listen, I'm being handed such a dangerous mission.

You guys will have to give me another celebration when I have the Emblems.

By the way, he also told me to tell you

- That right now he's-- - All right, all right.

I'll listen to the rest of it when I return, all right?

Xiao Yan! Come on.

Lin Dong, I'm sorry for making you worry.

I'm safe with Lang Tian. Don't worry about me.

I'll come back to find you after I've finished what I set out to do.

Qing Tan is with someone bad!

What are you saying?

Lin Lang Tian... will take care of Qing Tan.

We'll go get her after we retrieve the Space Ancestral Emblem.

You can relax now, right?

Hurry and get on your way.

It's me.

Senior Xuan.

The Yimo will probably go to the destination on the fake map.

I'm going to see if I get lucky.

Wait a moment.

I never asked why you aren't telling Lin Dong that you suspect Lin Lang Tian.

He just made up with him.

I'm afraid of hurting him by jumping to conclusions.

I really wonder what that brat has done to you.

You're so devoted to him now, you're even helping him find the Yimo.

You don't hate him anymore, right?

I wish to capture the Yimo that stole the map.

Please tell Master Yan that I haven't forgotten our agreement.

Us girls are all hypocrites. I get it.

- I'm not! - You still won't admit it.

Take this.

You're heading into dangerous waters. This can protect you.

Thank you.

Take care.

Open the door!

- Junior! - Father!

Why have you locked me up like some criminal?

Do you want me to turn into a walking dead person?

Get your Sect Master over here!

- I want to speak with him! - You can't blame him!

- Go get him! - You just came back...

and yet you want to leave again.

Getting up here is easy, leaving is hard.

- If you get hurt, if you cause trouble-- - So what if I cause trouble?

I helped too!

So what if I got hurt? I survived impossible circumstances!

So what if I leave the sect? I'm a human being!

What's the difference between being locked up and being dead?

Wu Dao! Aren't there Yimo out there?

I want to go kill them!

You're not going to open it, right? You better not regret this!

Father!

You better not regret this!

So what if I leave the sect? I'm so pissed!

Will you let me out or not?

I'm going to hang myself!

Junior Ying, you--

Why isn't this working?

This was my mother's. I can't bear to break it.

Listen to me, even if you use the mirror, it's useless!

The mirror only reflects you and me!

The hardest thing to find in the world is the one meant for you.

Don't you want this mirror to help you find them?

You're always with her. No wonder you never improve.

I...

Stupid mirror, you always fool me.

Don't you know that he's spending all his time with his fairy maiden?

I have something to bestow to you.

You shall inherit my duty.

Huan Huan.

You saw her?

Father.

Who... is she?

She still came.

Father.

That lady waved to me earlier.

She said she wanted me to... inherit her duty?

Since the Yimo came back...

no one, including you and I, had any way of escaping this.

Father... I don't understand.

You saw the owner of the Ice Ancestral Emblem.

She was the Emblem Ancestor's most intelligent disciple.

The Emblem Ancestor was so powerful, no one surpassed him in strength.

The Ice Ancestral Emblem's owner was the closest.

Huan Huan, you were born to be her successor.

I'm destined to cultivate her powers?

Does that make me the same as Lin Dong? A successor, after I master her powers?

- Huan Huan-- - I want to do it! When do we start?

There are three layers to ice cultivation.

The first two train the body, and the last one trains the heart.

The heart?

It requires you to forget everything. All your desires and aspirations.

You have to give up your emotions and feelings.

I've walked your path.

Nothing will come of your feelings.

You should give up whatever you feel for Lin Dong while you can.

Why are you so good to me?

- You could bear to do that to me? - As your father, no.

But as Ying Xuan Zi, yes.

If you understand, then go back and think about it.

I'll lift your imprisonment after that.

Break off all my relationships...

- Forget the past... - I'll visit you at Dao Sect.

And you can visit me at Mystical Item House.

It's a deal!

I'm over here!

Come and get me!

I don't think I can do it.

Even if I try, I can't.

Why do I have to?

I won't end things! I won't.

Dear Master Yan...

Everyone has been on my mind since I left.

But my father is angry and I can't leave.

I left with some regrets, and I want to clear things up with Lin Dong.

You're usually quite wise.

If you think I should stay here...

then I'll forget everything and never leave this mountain.

If you think I should leave...

please help me escape this place.

Young people and love.

I envy their youth.

Xuan Su.

Between Ling Qing Zhu and Ying Huan Huan, who do you think suits Lin Dong best?

If we're talking personality, I think Ying Huan Huan is a better match.

But all he cares about is his fairy maiden.

Ling Qing Zhu might be part of his motivation for training.

If time can get Qing Zhu to open her heart

she might be good for him after all.

When it comes to relationships, who knows?

I suppose familiarity breeds fondness.

Since it's all a mess right now, I'm going to toss him right into it!

Don't be so optimistic.

It won't be easy getting past the Dao Sect Master.

I'm just showing her a path.

It's still Ying Xuan Zi who has to give her permission to leave.

As for Lin Dong, if he can get Dao Sect's support

and the protection of Purity Palace...

his journey will get a lot smoother.

I took your curiosity for concern. In the end, you were looking to use them?

It's not my fault that Lin Dong is lucky.

He's a lot luckier than I am.

Lin Dong, with Qing Tan gone...

I even miss her cooking!

Things will be dangerous in Great Puppet City.

She's safer with Lin Lang Tian.

But we still have to rescue her!

All right.

I don't even have anyone to fight with without Little Marten around.

I'll figure out how to rescue him once we get to the city.

Lin Dong, we're the only two left.

I guess this is the path a hero has to take.

Try it. Put some flavor in your mouth.

The tigress gave it to you?

Little Marten said that she likes you. What does that mean?

Is it the same as you and Fairy Maiden drinking wine?

Isn't it obvious that I like the fairy maiden?

Who would like the savage girl?

She's always running around, screeching her head off.

She's not at all like a lady.

- Now you know who I like, right? - Both?

This is impossible.

There's no need to apologize to me. I'm not going to forgive you.

And let's not meet again.

Humans are too sly.

- Your disciple? - I wanted to plant him in the guild

but he ended up getting all cozy with Lin Dong.

He even helped the boy's sister Qing Tan deal with her affliction.

He's going to destroy all my hard work.

Humans gain courage through power, make friends through personal connections

become lovers through emotions, and form families through blood.

Normal people can be used and manipulated

but you have to work harder if you wish for a friend to betray a friend.

And even harder if you wish to separate lovers or turn someone on their family.

Which of those are we, Your Majesty?

We simply share paths.

We can give to each other, and we can sacrifice each other.

I thought that if I hid among them and learned their emotions

I'd be able to use them.

But who expected their hearts to contain orifices?

I oversimplified things.

- You gave Lin Lang Tian the fake map? - He owes me.

I have to make him suffer for it.

You've certainly learned human envy.

You said yourself, Your Majesty, that humans can't be trusted.

I want to stir things up so they point fingers at each other.

Yes, that is where they are weak.

- Deep love, incisive hatred. - I already have leverage.

I'm just waiting for an opportunity.

Emblem Ancestor, please accept my prayers.

I know that Emblem cultivation is an Emblem Master's most advanced stage.

I've been fortunate enough to get the Absorption Ancestral Emblem.

I shall train with all my efforts and help the sect grow stronger.

Why have they set up so much defense?

Are they being threatened by Yimo?

The Yimo are scary, but people are scarier.

- Where do we go then? - Somewhere to train.

There's no one here. We can't even ask for directions.

I know who to look for.

This old man is worse than his son!

He's going to kill me!

How dare you torment me? I'm going to torture you both when I get out!

Father! Father!

Why would you touch that? Father!

Let it go. Let it go!

Let go! Throw it!

- Toss it, Father! - Lin Dong, please get the stone back!

Don't make me spy for you anymore, I can't take this any longer!

Father... are you all right?

Get up!

Father, what were you doing?

I tried to force the emblem to teach me its techniques.

But it repelled me. You came just in time.

Otherwise, it would have sucked up all my Yuan Power.

I only knew after staying in Yan City

that there's a seal on the emblem that hasn't been broken.

What?

No wonder the Emblem Master Guild hasn't made any moves.

They know we can't do anything with it.

It's a pity we can't use it.

How vexing.

Don't fret, Father. Lin Dong is coming to our city.

I'm going to capture him and make him reveal the emblem's secrets.

Lin Dong is a complicated character, it's best not to provoke him.

Lei.

Let's set the formation to cultivate the emblem first.

No.

Lei!

Listen up. Make preparations.

Report as soon as you find Lin Dong!

Yes.

Who's there?

Grandmaster?

There's a treasure called the Spirit Wheel Mirror.

Legend has it that it was retrieved from the Great Desolation Tablet.

It can turn the universe around and help condense one's Spirit Power.
