they're soaking wet.

I think my biggest fear is heights.

Letting my kids down is another

is a competition against myself

to do the best I possibly can.

When I was a 17-year-old boy
I entered a TV talent show.

I made the final but didn't win.

You know, it was hard,
hard at the time.

But 20 years on, I want to prove
to myself that I am strong.

And that I can make it right down
to the end

and hopefully even win.

HE GRUNTS

Number 7 Gareth holds on
the longest,

at 1 minute and 20 seconds.

OK. They've give what we've asked
them to give.

However, this is being judged
from day one.

I physically and mentally couldn't
have pushed myself

any more than I have. No.
We've smashed it

and we've smashed ourselves in
the process. Yes. Exactly.

The course is over. The DS will
now decide who, if any,

of the remaining recruits have
passed selection,

based on their performance
throughout the course.

Number 11 has been my
biggest surprise.

Great character. She keeps
going, determination.

But she's just not physically
strong enough.

Number 7.

Pretty much passed virtually
everything on this course.

Been a frontrunner from
the beginning.

He's remained stoic.

Number 1. On face value,

the course, he's succeeded at
most tasks,

outworked many of the people on
the course.

Big decision.

OK, close in on me. Run.

I think back to my time in
the Special Forces

and about the situations I've been
in where

the chips are down and you think
you're going to die

and you think about the people that
you want next to you.

OK, just stand right there.

It's all about trust.

I look at the people that are stood
in front of us,

and I ask myself, in the darkest
of dark places,

would I have that person stood next
to me?

Stand proud where you are now.

It's a personal journey
to everybody.

And if the answer is yes,
then they've passed.

If it's no, then they haven't.

Fucking good effort. All of you.

without a shadow of

a doubt, the most brutal course in
the world.
