Get back to basics.

We're here to experience
nature, the real world.

bonding with the great outdoors.

Now, maybe that sounds a bit
preachy, but what can I say?

It's intoxicating.

See, despite what the modern digital world

lot of supposed differences

that make us so very
special, so very unique,

we're really all the same.

Our brains are wired
essentially the same way,

we have the same needs.

So, a persuasive essay
is a powerful writing tool

to help you learn how to convince
your readers or listeners,

why your opinion, your voice,
is correct and matters.

And the formula for the
way you do this is simple.

Introduction, body, conclusion.

Let's break that down.

For example, if say,
I want to persuade you

that we're all the same, I'm
going to want to hook you

with a strong introductory paragraph

that really sets the tone of my essay,

but also clearly states
exactly what I intend to argue;

that we're all the same.

That is my thesis.

In the body of my essay,

I want at least three
paragraphs that use observation,

supporting data, and sources
to reinforce my thesis.

For this example, I support
my argument with the facts

that we all share the same basic

emotional and physical needs,
the same place of origin,

and the same basic biology.

And if you're doing
this topic, by the way,

feel free to use any of this
that's relevant to your paper.

Lastly, a conclusion, and it's simple.

Wrap up your reasons
and tie everything back

around your thesis.

Reasserting what you believe is true.
