about letting us know

that you're happy
with your weaknesses,

It's just about opening up

with your skeletons,

rather than use them

My father was dying of cancer
and I visited him

and spent some time with him

and then I had to take
a flight interstate.

And I got off the plane
and I'd got a message on my phone

and I began listening
to the message from my father.

And he said, "Son, I've had a turn

and they're taking me
to the hospital."

And I don't know if I panicked

or if I was impatient.

I think I was just impatient.

And I wanted to speak to him

so I just pressed five
and I deleted the message.

And it was the last thing
my father ever said to me

and I fucking missed it.

(MELANCHOLIC MUSIC)

Because I was impatient.

So I don't know what my father's
last words were to me.

I found that very difficult.

Very difficult.

I was very close to my father.

He was my friend
but he was also my confidante.

We talked a lot

and we got along
really, really well.

And so when he died, I was really...

I was really shook up.

SABRINA: My mum and my stepdad
recently separated.

I blamed my mum for a lot of it.

To the point I didn't speak
to her for months.

And I put a lot of anger.

I let that drive my family apart.

And it's something that I regret.

Even now, I'm still
trying to make up for.

But I wish I never turned
on my family.

OLLIE: Honesty in a Special Forces
team is extremely important.

When I was about 14,

my mum found some shit
in my bag one time

and she just went apeshit at me.

And I regret that so much.

I regret putting my family
through that.

OLLIE: Honesty is trust.

Honesty is allowing you
to drop your ego

and connect on an emotional state
with the rest of your team.

In 2012, leading
into the London Olympics,

myself and a few of the other boys
on the swim team

had a bit of a bonding night
before the Olympic Games

where we took Stilnox

which is a prescription
sleeping tablet.

It was banned on the team
at the time.

Later on, that came out
in the media.

I had to explain to my family
and my friends what I had done

and how I had let them down.

So I've copped some pretty decent
sprays of members of the public.

I'm a drug cheat,

that I shouldn't represent
the country,

that their taxpayer money
pays for me

and I let them down.

It was probably the lowest point
in my life to date.

My middle brother, Fouad,

he always supported me growing up.

And then when my career became
a little bit busier,

I just treated him with contempt

and didn't support him
and just treated him badly.

I feel guilty because of it.

She's such a cool chick, my mum.

She cares for everyone.
She does everything for everyone.

But in the last couple of years,

since I've had kids and that,
and everybody's busy,

I've just made all these excuses
not to get together.

And without mum
even saying anything,

I can feel it in my heart,

would make her day
if we all got together.

I fucked up
and went over a crest too fast

and went wide
and hit a drainage ditch

and rolled about six times.

Yeah, it destroyed one in four
of handmade cars

that was lent to me by a friend
and can never be replaced

because I was in over my head.

A long time ago, when I was young,

I got myself in a compromising
position which I regret.

It had a huge impact
on my family. Huge.

So it was just a personal situation.
Too many drinks.

Yes, I'd made a mistake.

But is that really worth,
every single day,

Living with that and then having
to explain to my kids in the future

is going to be very difficult.

Especially when you've got
three girls.

and not being able
to take it anymore.

Just thinking,
if this is what life's about,

then I can't take it anymore.

Hey guys.

For me when I was 13,

I was going through
a pretty tough time at school.

Like gangs and stuff,
just bloody death threats

and all that sort of thing.

And I was trying to handle it

and my old man tried to help me

and I was in a dark space
and I told him to F off.

Because his brother was
murdered, stabbed,

and I didn't want him
to go through anything like that.

But I added so much more pain
onto him

when he told him that.

And he didn't flog me,
which made it even worse.

Because I was always relying
that that was the thing,

the evening thing.

And now he's got terminal cancer

and I think that situation
has driven me, through my career,

to work harder
to try and prove to him

that I'm deserving of his love.

And I just wanted to make
that happen before it's too late.

That's me.

About... not sure, a year,

but playing rugby
over in the Western Force in Perth,

we'd have a grappling session
and it was feared by many.

And we'd basically just wrestle

for hours in the sand.

I remember the phone call.

It was a life-changing moment
for all of us.

He said, "Oh, just back
from the doctor's."

I was like, "Oh, are you all good?"

And he goes, "I've got
terminal cancer, stage IV

"and they reckon I'll be
another couple of years."

A couple of days later,
I was in the shower

and it all sort of hit me

and I just sort of slid
down the wall and sat down

in the bottom of the shower

and I just cried
for bloody half an hour.

I had some unresolved emotion
with Dad.

But whatever time is left,

I want to have it the most loving,
awesome experience.
