No taking
has been the single most important step

for me in my learning process
to retain as much information as possible.

Whatever it is in life, whether it's video
editing, finance or handstands,

the process of writing down
the information that I'm consuming is

incredibly important for me to actually
understand the information in my head.

So if you're taking this seriously,
then I would highly recommend

that you take notes on
everything that you're learning.

And then that way

you can also very quickly go back
to those notes at any time if you need to.

So this is my notes taking process.

So it's pretty simple.

What I like to do is fill the left
hand of my screen with a Google doc

and the right hand with the lessons
that I'm going to be learning.

Now I want to share this one cool
little plug in that I have on my computer.

It's called Synch.
I'm going to link it down below.

This is just something that I use
and I like it

because it allows me to just drag
my windows to the left side of the screen

and then all of a sudden
I'll get this ghosted rectangle here.

And if I let go, it's
going to fill the left side of the screen.

Same thing with the right side over here.

It's just a great way for me to be able
to see two things at once.

Now, when I'm at home and not traveling,
I like to have,

you know,

the text document fill an entire monitor
and then the lesson fill another monitor

next to it. At home.

I usually have three monitors,
so that's usually nice.

But when it's just my laptop,
I'll do it like this.

Now, the way that I would go
about making notes for The DaVinci

course is to make a new title for each tab

or section of the course,
including project management. So

starting the first one,

probably with project management
going into

the media tab,

cut tab,

added tab and so on.

And below each one of these titles,
you just want to list out your notes

from start to finish.

Now one thing I personally like to do
is before

I write my next note,
I want to make sure that I fully

understand
the note that I had just written down.

This is just a good way to verify
that you're actually understanding

the knowledge.

I like to have a full understanding
of the topic

that we're learning about first
before I move on to the next one.

But of course it's okay to skip ahead
sometimes, but my recommendation to you

is to go through the entire course
from start to finish.

And if there are certain lessons
that you feel you're already knowledgeable

on, feel free

to watch those at two x speed,
but I don't recommend skipping anything,

so that's pretty much it.

This is my notes taking process.

Fun fact the Google doc that I created
to write down all of my notes

for the filming of this course
is actually over 100 pages long,

so I definitely went in on the note taking
and it's helped me a lot,

honestly, and I feel like I can now
call myself an experienced Da Vinci editor

because I took the time to write notes
for everything, and it's helped me retain

a lot of this information.
