All language subtitles for Procolor_C12_L4A_Second_Pass

Now that we have
a lot of the major issues, fixed things

with exposure and our movies
kind of to that, it would look okay.

That means we're sort of home free,
you know.

And during the second pass,
I want to focus on matching the shots.

Do these really match really well?

And for a project like this
where we only have a few different shots,

we might already be mostly there,
but let's just double check.

Easiest way to do
this is just to look at the same subject.

So we'll look at Sam here
and switch back and forth and

does it feel right?

I would say it feels just fine.

I think it works pretty well, actually.

Okay.

So as far as Sam, I'd say that works okay.

And then my angle

switch these back and forth.

29 I'd say 26.

I think my angle could be
just a little bit, maybe more saturated,

maybe just a little bit brighter.

It feels like sort of
in these darker tones

that it's maybe a little desaturated.

So again, this is being pretty picky,
but since we're here.

So I think maybe what we'll do
is actually adjust the color boost,

which if you remember, color boost

is like saturation, but it's only like
the less saturated tones.

So if I push up color, boost a little bit,

it's going to, for the most part,
leave the more saturated stuff alone,

but it's going to boost the saturation
of the less saturated parts.

So here's where we are now

and here's before.

So I'll just turn that off and on.

I think that's nice.

It gives it just a little bit more life
down in my shirt.

I'd say we might even be able
to go a little bit further.

Let's take that up.

Just a touch is a little bit more color
to this skin.

Let's switch this back and forth.

Yeah, that seems pretty nice.

Only thing I'd say is it might be just

a little pink now.

So with our offset,

we can take the tint just a touch towards

green.

We'll see how that feels.

I'd say that works pretty well.

The other thing I don't like is back here

kind of how these shadows are a little bit

darker.

They feel a little darker.

It feels like it's
a higher contrast back here.

And so we might do something
like switch to the contrast

and just play with this for a second
just to see if we can make

that a little better.

Take the contrast down

and move the pivot around.

And I think that does help a little bit.

So I like that

what we're really doing
is kind of getting rid of this

this like brighter part here

and just really bringing in a
little more detail on the brighter parts.

Well, leaving
the darker parts about how they are.

Again, make sure that this matches.

I say let's boost up the lift.

Just a touch to

this is one of those things

that you can drive yourself crazy

and just keep tweaking, keep tweaking

until you lose your mind.

I'd say

that works pretty well.

Maybe take our temperature

just a touch cooler as well

there.

I feel like we're doing pretty well.

All right.

We're going to copy this to our other

shots in the group

from shot to now.

We have this working pretty well.

Switch back to all clips.

Let's make sure that our grill shots
still feel nice

that they match with those around it.

It's so different than the other ones
that we're probably going to be just fine.

Let's
see if we get some skin tone in there.

It looks terrible.

Let's maybe take our blacks up
just a little bit.

So in our contrast node, it's
push up, the lift just attached

so we aren't crushing everything out.

Maybe bring our camera down a touch.

Yeah, I think that works a little better.

Come up to our groups and we'll

copy all of those

over there.

Let's also take a look at our first shot

like this

versus our last shot here.

And let's do shot 29

Matt Show reference wipe.

And now we have a difference.

And this is mostly just because
of the lighting at different time of day,

but we have a lot more

contrast here in the afternoon,

but the subjects look very similar.

I think what we might do in this contrast

mode is push up the left just a touch

to kind of counteract that a little bit.

I think that's nice.

Copy that too.

These

other shots

so it isn't so punchy at the very end.

And now we have from beginning to end

this one has a lot of smoke in it,

but for the most part it matches.

And again,
the very best test for all of this

isn't the scientific things
where we switch

from one shot at the beginning to one shot
at the end or even to a split screen.

The big test is can we play this back

and does it work?

When we play it back?

Right.

That product shot works a lot better now.

It feels nice.

The only other thought I had

is that his face seems a little bit dark,

so we might want to add some secondaries
to kind of brighten

up his face a little bit,
which I think we'll do in the next lesson.
