was about 13,

my mom asked Uncle Bob's
photographer

to do a portfolio of me.

I mean, this is sweet
and innocent.

So then they
took a little different turn

and put me in this extremely
little tiny bathing suit.

Again, I think I was 13 here.

I was a child.

I see this
and I just see somebody
who is not protected.

What I saw from day one was,

if you are worth your salt
as a female,

you damn well better
be able to fit into a,
you know, a centerfold.

JOHN COLAPINTO: There's really
only one Bob Guccione.

He starts the dirtiest
magazine in America

and becomes one of the
richest men in the world.

He made women feel so beautiful.

He was a cool mother(BLEEP)

REPORTER: Their business
is rude, nude and lewd.

COLAPINTO: Bob wanted
his children
to create a dynasty.

Our family revolved around sex.
Kind of creepy.

He says that he needed
to have a look at me.

Glamor, mystery, pubic hair.

All that money just disappeared.

He lost everything.

Do you lose sleep
that it's all slipping away?

GAY HAUBNER: So when I came
to New York,

the way you got
your job back then

was you got a copy
of The New York Times

and then you took out
your typewriter.

This is like,
sounding like
Civil War era (BLEEP).

And then we got in our horse
and buggy!

And you typed a letter
and you put in your resume

and you licked the envelope
and sent it off,

and you waited to hear back.

(PHONE RINGING)

The phone rang
and they hired me.

I was fortunate enough
to be there

when the place
was friggin' awash in money.

There was so much money.

WOMAN: Penthouse magazine
hit the newsstands 12 years ago.

Until that time,
Playboy was the number one
men's magazine in the country.

Today, Penthouse is on top

and its success
is due to one man, Bob Guccione.

Just roll your head over
to the right.

MIKE EDISON: The early '80s
in New York City,

here was this guy
with the biggest mansion
in New York,

his art collection was famous

and Penthouse
was on top of the heap.

We carry
some of the best writers,

the best journalists,
best photographers.

The best of everything.

It's probably the single
most luxurious magazine
of its kind.

EDISON: And his magazine
was incredibly sexy,
incredibly hot,

much more so than Playboy.

The swagger, the sexuality.

Like that edge, you know,
that Playboy never had.

You know, it was just
a whole different world
that Bob Guccione had created.

PETER BLOCH: At the dawn
of the 1980s,

things were looking
very positive for Penthouse.

Our circulation
had just been climbing,

but we didn't know
what was gonna happen
in the '80s.

(CHUCKLES)

NINA: I was living
in New Jersey with my mother,

who was a manic
depressive alcoholic.

So she wasn't always
on her game. (CHUCKLES)

And I was very rebellious.

One night, I came home,
two hours past curfew.

My mum, she looks at me
and says,
"You're two hours late."

I said, "Well, what are you
gonna do about it?"

And she said,
"I called your father.

"You're moving
in with him tomorrow."

And I started screaming
and crying,

like, I wanted to be close
to my dad.

I wanted his attention,

but I didn't want
to live with him.
I was terrified.

I just didn't
want that closeness.

Life in the house
revolved around sex.

And I was just
such an insecure teenage girl.

You don't want that.

WOMAN: Bob Guccione's home,

it's a multimillion dollar
shrine of beauty and elegance

featuring everything
from an indoor swimming pool,

Judy Garland's piano
with the gold leaf finish.

NINA: So when I moved
to the mansion, the house,
as everybody refers to it,

it was, oh,
a beautiful home.

And there's just marble foyer,

100 feet of marble,
with a white marble staircase.

The Pets,
they were living there.

These girls,
who were overtly sexual,
flaunting it.

So it made me
very self-conscious.

But my brother Nick,
not so much.

The Pets, I loved them all.

(LAUGHS)

You know, my hormones.
It was like 4th of July
in my head, you know.

We weren't allowed
to fraternize.

And that was his exact word,
"Fraternize with the Pets."

And he told the Pets,
"Don't fraternize
with the kids."

But when I was 15,

I had the opportunity
to have my first girlfriend

and she just happened
to be a Penthouse Pet.

She was 23. I was 15, 15 then.

Most guys are, you know,

they can only wish
they had had sex
with any one of them.

I was having sex
with all of them.

You know, I was horny.

But hey, listen,
I was a gentleman.

PRESENTER: Morning to you,
ladies and gentlemen.

Here is Bob Guccione,

he is the publisher of Penthouse
and the presenter
and producer of Caligula.

Bob had this obsession
with doing a movie
about Caligula.

It was completely insane.

PRESENTER: This picture
cost $17 million to produce,

and it's the first
major budget picture

with named stars
to be so sexually explicit.

It has things in it that no one
has ever seen before
in a motion picture.

I'm not just talking
about the X-rated aspects of it.

DARREN WINSTON:
Caligula came out,
I think, when I was about ten.

At the time,
it was groundbreaking.

And I'm sure it was supposed
to be incredibly sensual.

And it's now, it just looks like
the most expensive porno film
ever made.

And it was rife with problems.

LESLIE JAY-GOULD: The actors
were all disgruntled.

The director Tinto Brass
was a problem.

And Bob kept saying,
"Make it more sexual.

"Make it more sexual."

And they had an orgy scene

that was the most explicit thing
you can possibly imagine,

which is what Bob wanted.

BOB: I think it's gonna make
a tremendous splash
wherever it's shown.

In fact, I defy a normal,
healthy young American male
or woman to not go.

NINA: I think he believed he
was gonna make a lot of money
on it

and that he was going
to create a new persona.

He was gonna be
this amazing director.

You know,
he'd done it in publishing.

Now he was gonna do it
in the movies.

It was a big deal.

HAUBNER: And then finally,
the dreaded day happened

and Caligula was finished.

Penthouse rented a movie house
on Third Avenue,

and we were all told
that we had to be there
for the premiere of Caligula.

And we were frog-marched
out of the offices
and up to this theater

where our names were checked off
by someone with a clipboard
to make sure we were all there.

All right, my little bitches.

Come in, all of you.

HAUBNER: We're about 10 minutes
into this,

and my dear friend
at the office said to me,

"(BLEEP) this (BLEEP),"
and got up and left.

And basically I sat there
like this the whole time

because it was just
so unbelievably gory

and the sex was so cringeworthy.

NINA: I had the misfortune
of having turned 18

and Dad
being a very moral family man

decided I could go
because I was of age.

You know, it was me
and his mother and father
and Kathy's parents were there.

And I'm sitting
next to my father

watching this on the big screen.

It was horrifying.
Absolutely horrifying.

I'd never seen a sex film.

I was speechless.

And I was very upset about it

because no good parent

should expose their child
or allow them to be exposed
to that.

But being a narcissist,
he had no empathy.

He couldn't associate

what would it be like
for a teenage girl.

Now, listen, Guccione,
get a camera on this guy.

I saw your motion picture.

$17 million.

And I must say,
I walked out of it last night.
I got to be straight with you.

Was there one review of Caligula
that was positive?

Because I wish
you'd show it to me.

WINSTON: It's rubbish.
It has absolutely
no artistic integrity

or anything.

What did you think
about the film?

I think it was a monstrous film.

I think that it was not erotica.

That it was not sexy.

I just can't even imagine
the millions of dollars

that was poured
into that steaming hunk
of excrement.

WINSTON: Caligula. It comes
and it's everywhere,

and then it just
sort of goes away.

The sound of a toilet flushing
and a lot of money following it.

We are claiming
that hard-core pornography

dumped on us by Bob Guccione,

the fellow
with the Penthouse magazine
and his millions,

is something Vancouver
doesn't need

because it involves violence,

rape, bestiality, castration.

It's hard-core pornographic.

He was pushing the envelope,
too quickly,

and too early.

And that's what upset America.

I will burn this magazine now.

(PROTESTORS CHANTING)

Pornography is anti-God,
it's anti-woman,

it's anti-children, anti-family.

Unabashed, unedited,
unrestrained lust of the flesh,

filth, sin and immorality.

EDISON: By the '80s,
the status quo is we've got
to put a stop to all the sex.

Cast it as the moral right
versus the smut peddlers.

There's a good story for you,
a good guy and a bad guy.

Of course, I always root
for the bad guys. (LAUGHS)

You know, I always root
for the Joker, not Batman.

He's more interesting.
He's got more charisma.

Caligula is, you know,
come and gone.

Of course, it doesn't work

because no one wants to see this
because it's really filthy.

We are damaging families
with pornography,

and I believe
a part of the vision

is to eliminate
from the surface of America
this scab called pornography.

EDISON: There's a big backlash.

And suddenly,
the religious right,
evangelists, born-agains,

can become a huge voting bloc

and they realize can actually
get a president elected.

I, Ronald Reagan,
do solemnly swear

that I will faithfully execute
the office of President
of the United States.

The evangelical movement
turned out a lot of voters
for him,

and so he owed them a favor
to investigate the evils
of pornography.

REAGAN: This is a nation
under God,

and there is the freedom
of a parent

to be able to send his child
to a store on an errand

without having them walk past
a magazine rack and subjected
to this kind of material.

It wasn't just the evangelicals
on the right.

You also
had the extreme feminists
on the left.

Over the weekend,
several thousand people,
most of them women,

rallied and marched
to New York City

to dramatize
their opposition to pornography.

The marchers shouted
slogans such as,
"Two, four, six, eight,

"pornography is women hate."

I certainly don't classify
Penthouse as pornography.

It is erotica.

I think that Mr. Guccione
is decidedly a pornographer.

Penthouse were promoting
very insidious,

extremely sexist ideas
about women

as objects
of sexual consumption.

This material
is very characteristic
of pornography.

Dehumanizing women as Pets,

as simply a sexual plaything,
as not an equal human being
at all.

BLOCH: So you had this kind
of juggernaut
of the evangelical right wing

and the left-wing feminists
both having a magazine
like Penthouse in their sights.

The hatred was visceral.

The times were kind of
changing even then.

But Bob didn't see it.

It was certainly
the beginning of problems.

CAMERAMAN: A Cam Mark. Yeah.

MAN: Yeah.

I always knew
that I wanted something better
with my life.

I wanted to go and become
an actress and a model
and a singer,

and I was 5'2".

I was like, "How is this
gonna happen in Memphis?"
(CHUCKLES)

And so I left to go to Las Vegas
when I was 16.

And one night,
this guy looks at me and goes,

"Are you a model?"
And I was like, "Yeah."

And so it happened like that.

Just like that, one way ticket,
by the way, to New York.

So, a driver picks me up.

I'm headed to the mansion.

When I got there,
they were in the money.

They were at the highest peak
in Penthouse's history.

So they call me.

They said,
"Bob will meet you now."

I'm like, "Okay."
(LAUGHS)

Like, "Ooh."

And he's sitting
at the grand piano

and he's tinkering away
a little bit.

(LAUGHING) Like something
in like, you know,
one of those movies.

He comes and greets me.

I didn't know what to say to him
because the minute I saw him,

I was like,
completely infatuated.

That was his M.O. for all time.

I heard Bob come in
before I saw him.

He had these gold chains
rattling around his, you know,
bronze chest

in an open shirt.

The voice, the clothing,
the appearance,

all of it
was very, uh, constructed.

He has this very deep,
raspy voice,

which is so sexy.

It really is a question of,
see how the girl
turns me on.

I can't photograph a girl
that doesn't excite me.

He used that charm
and his wicked, smirky grin
to advantage.

I said, "I want
to be photographed
by you.

"You're a genius."

And he goes, "Let's do it."

Bob said, "Look how young
you look here.

"This is gonna make us
so much money."

That cover
made millions of dollars.

So after the photo shoot
was over,

I had a robe on
and it was getting late.

It just,
one thing led to another.

And we started kissing
and everything
and it was pretty amazing.

I'm like, "Oh, my God,
I'm gonna fall in love
with this man."

I think he was 50
and I was turning 19.

And I thought, "Okay, now what?"

And I moved into the mansion.

Can't remember
exactly the floor I was on

but I was above Bob and Kathy.

Bob and Kathy's relationship
was interesting

because they weren't married.

They were boyfriend
and girlfriend,

but she really
couldn't control him.

Another Pet moved in
and she was Pet of the Year
before me.

And then there was another Pet.
So there was like three of us
living there.

He was seeing the other two
as well.

NINA: I presumed maybe something
was going on but, you see,
he would deny it.

So it wasn't something
I ever saw.

We did have a back stairway
in the house,

and I think
that was probably used.
(CHUCKLES)

INTERVIEWER: So, Nick,
tell me about Sheila Kennedy?

NICK: Oh, my God.
I was madly in love with her.
Madly.

Sexy, smart, beautiful.

Sheila, are you listening?
(LAUGHS)

NINA: Nick,

he loved the girls.

He would fall for them.

But only Dad was gonna have sex
in the house.

They were his rules.

And if you cross him,

he would've gone berserk.

Living in the mansion,

I was very threatened
by pretty young girls.

I had to deal with them,
I was always fighting for my
dad's attention with them.

So I realized
that if you weren't doing
something that interests him,

then you don't exist.

I needed to be a part
of the company
to be a part of his life.

So I decided to work
at Penthouse,

because up to that point,
he knew I disagreed
with what he did.

And then I drank the Kool-Aid.
(LAUGHS)

And I said to him,
"It's just a business."

My first sort of real job
was in the art department,

and I was not qualified

or prepared or really willing.

Dad used to say,
"You have to get there
before everybody else.

"You have to leave
after everyone else

"and you're not going
to get paid as much."

So it was sort of
reverse nepotism.

You have to do it
because it's "your company".

I think he wanted us all there.

He didn't want anybody
taking over,

but he wanted us there.

(LAUGHS)

You've been called
the king of sleaze.

Now, how do you react
to something like that?

Well, I don't react to it,
really,

because I think people
who say things like that
are very stupid,

uninformed,

very narrow
and insular in their way.

If they
had any kind of education,

if they knew anything
about the world around them,

they wouldn't make
statements like that.

Bob, I think kind of gloried
in being attacked

by the evangelicals
and the feminists.

So Penthouse started
doing more and more
controversial pictorials

because Bob liked to make waves.

In this case he said,
"We have something very special.

"You can't talk
to anyone about it."

And we knew that we had like,
something really major
on our hands.

NEWSCASTER: Vanessa Williams
had no comment today.

Nothing to say
about the nude photographs
of her and another woman.

These photos will appear
in the September issue
of Penthouse.

JAY-GOULD: Vanessa Williams
was the first black
Miss America.

BLOCH: This photographer
had these nude pictures
of Vanessa Williams.

He came to Bob.

And Bob, of course,
jumped on it.

JAY-GOULD: It was all
very hush-hush.

Nobody was allowed to be
in the plant
when this was being printed.

I don't think anybody thought
it was a good idea
except financially.

BLOCH:
The Vanessa Williams issue

was probably the most
successful magazine single issue
in American history.

NEWSCASTER: As quickly
as a new batch of magazines
could be unwrapped,

they were grabbed up
by New Jersey commuters arriving
in Manhattan.

I have to see
what Vanessa looks like.

Have you seen
the Vanessa Williams' photos?

Oh, my God. They are so hot.

I mean, they're smoking hot.

Bob Guccione opened up
yet another brave new world

when he realizes that people
want to see naked celebrities.

Paris Hilton's career,
based on a sex tape.

The Kardashians,
based on a sex tape.

Bob Guccione
invented that whole thing
with Vanessa Williams.

NEWSCASTER: Buyers today
were sympathetic
to Vanessa Williams'

trouble over the pictures.

Many said she shouldn't give up
her crown.

JAY-GOULD: Miss America
gave Vanessa Williams
72 hours to resign.

I'm sure it was devastating
for her.

I never consented
to the publication

or the use of these photographs
in any manner.

However, the potential harm
to the pageant

and the deep division
that a bitter fight may cause

has convinced me
that I must relinquish my title
as Miss America.

CARLA GOURIAGE:
As an African-American
working for Penthouse

I was so incensed about
what it was going to do to her

and what it meant for us
as a community.

It just was like, cruel
and unnecessary.

It was gonna sell
a lot of copies,

but it was definitely
gonna destroy her career.

I will burn this magazine now.

NINA: The backlash,
I just couldn't believe.

A lot of people were pissed off.

The phones were ringing
off the hook.

They were just ringing
off the hook.

They implied we were trying
to sabotage
the first black Miss America.

ALL: (CHANTING)
Boycott Penthouse!
Boycott Penthouse!

Then all of a sudden
it was just out of control.

Somebody was hired to shoot Dad.

(PEOPLE SCREAMING)

They took a shot at him
through the window.
They missed him.

Thank goodness.

NICK: I couldn't believe it.

The shooting, it scared me
a little bit and I think
scared everybody.

It was a really
difficult situation.

I mean, people were hating Bob
at that time.

I have no regrets.

My first duty,
my first responsibility
is to my readers.

In his mind,
he felt very justified.

It was... He had nothing
to do with it except
that he paid for them

and the American people
had the right to see them.

That was always his thing.

"The American people
have the right to know."

Is it morally right to do?
Did he ruin her life?

Um...

You know...

I don't know
if it was wrong or not.

I think it was gutsy of him
to do that.

He knew he'd be sued.

He knew that the phones
would be ringing off the hook.

That was his business.

NINA: People would ask me like,
you know,

"How do you feel about this?
How do you..."

I'd say,
"I don't know any different."

He was just my Dad.

You loved the person...

and hate what they did.

But when you're making
that much money,

it's really hard
to tell somebody
they're doing something wrong.

I met Nicky right away
because he lived in the mansion
with Bob and Kathy.

He looked identical to Bob
when Bob was young.

Very tall, very handsome,
very charming, funny.

Nicky and I were teenagers.

I felt like
we related to each other.

Not to go too deep,
but I came from a very
dysfunctional family.

And there was no love
in my family.

Everybody was sort of
detached and not
emotionally there.

And I think Nicky
went through the same thing

because Bob had more
of a relationship with the Pets

than he did with his sons
and his daughters.

He'd say, "Hey, what's your
name again?
I'm sorry, you look familiar."

"I'm Nick, Dad. I'm your son."
"Oh, yeah, I remember now."

That's what it was like
in the mansion.

I was that estranged from him.

It's really not good, right,
to be isolated like that.

Something's going to give.
Something's going to break.

NICK: One night, Sheila,

she goes, I'm going upstairs.
"Goodnight, Nicky." I said,
"I'll come up with you."

KENNEDY: Nicky basically came
to my room

and he brings
a bottle of champagne

and two crystal glasses
with stems,

and he starts talking
and he goes,

"Look at you. You're innocent,
you're sweet, you're nice.

"He's gonna take
that away from you."

And I said, "What are you
talking about?

"I'm just having
him photograph me."

He goes, "No, no, no.
That's not how it goes.

"He's just gonna use you.

"He's gonna take everything away
from you.

"You're nothing to him.
You're a ball of fluff."

And I say, "Get out of my room,"
and he goes,
"This isn't your room.

"This is my house. This is
my dad's house. Make me."

And so he still
had the champagne glass
in his hand.

So I started pushing him
and I was pushing him
and he was laughing.

And then finally
I pushed him really hard

and the champagne glass
went right by his wrist.

NICK: Cut my artery over there.

Blood everywhere, man.
A puddle of blood.

There must've been two inches
of blood on a white shag rug,
you know?

He said,
"Look what you made me do,
you bitch."

And he ran out of the room.

I went up to my room,

and then the next thing I know,
Dad is in my room
on the sixth floor.

He said, (IN DEEP VOICE) "Nick,
what happened, are you okay?

(IN NORMAL VOICE)
"Well, you know,

"I cut my hand
and I went to the hospital.

"I got 15 stitches,"

and he said, "You shouldn't get
involved with these girls."

And that was the only time
my dad actually ever came up
to my room.

The only time in ten years,

literally ten years,
that he came up to my room.

I'm surprised he didn't say,
"Nick, why did you ruin
my shag rug?"

(LAUGHING) You know what I mean?

KENNEDY: Bob came up
at about two or three o'clock
in the morning.

He came banging on the door,
and I opened it up and he said,

"Don't you ever
go near my son again.

"Don't you ever
go near my son again,
or you'll be sorry."

But after that night,
Nicky and I really did
sort of collide.

And then we connected.

We were together after that,
you know what I mean?

Like, we were sexually together.

(LAUGHS)

The sex was amazing with him.

She was... Oh, my Lord.

But we had to keep it
on the down-low

because Bob made it very clear
to his sons

that they weren't allowed
to date the Pets
or sleep with the Pets.

And I was still sleeping
with Bob.

So, yeah,

it was really difficult.

NEWSCASTER: We hear now
from the Reverend Jerry Falwell
of the Moral Majority.

Reverend Falwell, what is it
that concerns you the most
about pornography?

The evangelicals
wanted Penthouse banned.

They wanted it outlawed.

The Moral Majority was growing
and growing

and making more demands.

For the same reason
that we do not make legal

the sale of drugs like heroin,
et cetera,

I think that pornography
should likewise be eliminated
from the American scene.

All we're simply asking
is that 7,500 7-Eleven stores
stop selling the garbage.

Reverend Falwell was influencing
some of these commercial
establishments

like 7-Eleven
not to sell Penthouse.

NEWSCASTER: Don't bother
coming here to 7-Eleven stores

to buy Playboy
or Penthouse magazines anymore

and don't bother going
to Peoples Drug, Dart Drug
or Drug Fair

to buy Playboy or Penthouse.
They're not available there,
either.

How has this controversy
affected the sales of Penthouse?

We've lost something
close to 400,000 copies a month.

It's been very,
very devastating.

It was definitely a major
financial blow to the company.

When they started pulling us
from the newsstands,

we felt the pinch.

The magazine sales are dropping.
You're losing readers

and if you don't
have the eyeballs,

you don't have the advertising.

So the advertisers
were starting to pull out

because we didn't
have the readership.

So it became a huge issue.

That's when Penthouse
started having real problems.

KENNEDY:
Bob was into some really,

some bizarre stuff
that turned him on.

One night,
Kathy was in, in Europe

and I went down to his bedroom

and I don't know how he came up
with this, but he said,

"You know, honey,
there's something
I'd really love for you to do."

I'm like, "What?"

And he goes, "Um, have you ever
heard of a Golden Shower?"

And I'm like, "I'm not peeing
on you in the bed."

And he said, "Why not?"

And I go, "Because I
was a bed-wetter
when I was young.

"I wet the bed
when I was a young girl

"because of all the, I guess,
the trauma,

"and all the stuff that went on
in the household
when I was young."

So he goes, "Okay, well,
what if we go
in Kathy's bathtub?"

And I was like, "Okay."

And we went in there.

He got down into the shower.

He had all his gold chains on
totally nude,

and I just peed on him.

I just found it
such an odd fetish.

Like, who would do that?

Like, who likes that?
He was totally turned on by it.

I have no idea
why I was still there.

That should have done it.

And I was trying so desperately
to move out of there.

But I just honestly,
I didn't know
what I was gonna do

after I left such a situation
where everything
is taken care of for you.

I am trapped in this,
this bubble.

I'm like the loneliest girl
in the world.

I might live
in, like, a beautiful,
glamorous mansion,

but I'm lonely.
I go to bed at night alone.

I'm going to see Nicky Guccione.

I've got the little,
Iike, butterflies going.

It's just like I'm starting
to feel, like, back
when I was a teenager

and we used to hang out
in the house, in the mansion.

DIRECTOR: Sheila,
we've got the letter
that Nick wrote you

when you were living together
at the mansion.

KENNEDY: Oh, wow.

Okay.

Okay. Um...

"Dearest Sheila,
my mind is reeling.

"We can talk.

"I feel as easy as if we
have known each other for years.

"Probably because
we're both often sensitive

"and basically tuned
into each other."

(NICK LAUGHS)

KENNEDY: Hey,
what are we doing here?

(LAUGHS AND EXCLAIMS)

KENNEDY: Oh, my God.

This is almost
gonna make me cry.

Haven't read this
in a long time.

"I guess what I'm trying

Remember I had that canopy bed?
It was, like, Laura Ashley.

He was troubled.
But Nicky was a very good kid.

And when he wrote that note
to me

and it was sweet
and sad at the same time

because I did care about him.

We were the same person.

You met Bob Guccione in London.

What made you believe
in him, personally,

in the man that would
make you change your life?

I had a strange feeling
when I first met Bob that I
had known him all my life.

(CHUCKLING) I don't know
if you ever meet people
and you feel that,

but I felt totally comfortable
and that this man
was perfectly trustworthy.

And I knew everything about him.
I just felt I knew it.

KENNEDY: Kathy was exhausted.

She was thinking, I'm never
gonna have you to myself.

She was jealous of anyone
that Bob really cared about.

Bob and I
are very private people,

which sounds crazy, but we are.

KENNEDY: Kathy was attracted
to women as well.

It's like, "You either let me in
on it so I can
see what's going on,

"or she's out."

I always told Bob, I said,

"If I ever have some sort of
relationship with a woman,
it wouldn't be her."

But he brought it up
during the photo shoot.

The one where I've got
the page boy hat on
and I'm on the bicycle.

He made it sound
like she wanted me.

And I was like,
"No, I'm not into her.

"I don't want to do it
and I don't have to do it."

No one wanted to sleep with her.

It was her personality.

She just had this air about her
that was really odd

and then eventually
he broke me down.

It was the first time in my life
that I thought,

"This isn't you.

"You did not have to do this."

But I just knew
that I was going
to be out if I didn't do it.

It was something
that if there's one thing
I regret with Penthouse,

it's that.

CHERYL RIXON: A lot of the girls
were sleeping
with Bob and Kathy,

but I think he only did that
when he needed to.

It was a control measure.

He had girls that were
happy to perform
living in the mansion.

I think he only
had a relationship with them

to further his goals
of what he needed.

and control well established.

Living in their house,

looking back, I realize that,

After I was with Kathy,

it was literally I was banished

He made you feel special
and that made you
wanna please him.

That was his little
Svengali trick.

He felt that
he could do no wrong.

And that was his downfall
in the end.

The 1990s in the adult industry,

things changed.

Dad wouldn't admit

running it.
