but he's always done his best
to keep up with the boys.

And believe me, that
takes a lot of vitality.

In fact, all of us
Nelsons have always

had plenty of the vitality
that keeps us enjoying life.

pitcher of milk that's always

been on the Nelson table because
the way this group burns up

energy, milk's the one
drink that gives us

the lasting vitality we need.

- I think I'll have
a chocolate malt.

- OK.
- Have you seen Wally around?

- Yeah he's sitting
over in the booth there,

but I'd take it easy
on him if I were you.

- Oh, what's the matter?

- Well, I think he had a little
scuffle with his girlfriend

and he's kind of
down in the dumps.

- Oh, that's too bad.

- Yeah, poor guy couldn't
even finish his hamburger.

- No kidding?

- Of course I did
manage to get him

to eat the Denver
sandwich, some potato

salad, and a bowl of chili.

- At least he won't starve.

- Yeah.

- Hi, Wally.

- Oh, hi, Rick.

- Jack tells me you had a little
misunderstanding with Ginger.

- Please, I'd appreciate it
if you don't mention her name.

- What happened?

- Well, she cooked me a big
dinner, that's what happened.

- I've never known that
to disturb you before.

- Well, it wasn't
exactly the dinner.

It was her reaction to a
little constructive criticism

I gave her.
- About the dinner?

- Yeah.

- Well, you ought to
know better than that.

That's a pretty sensitive area.

- I didn't even
mention her cooking.

I didn't say a word
about the soggy meatloaf

or the lumpy potatoes
or the burnt rolls.

All I did was
collapse on the couch

and ask for a little
bicarbonate of soda.

- Sounds pretty insulting to me.

- If I'd have been
honest about it,

I would have asked
for a stomach pump.

- Come on, now.
It couldn't have been that bad.

- Look, when I don't like
food, it's got to be awful,

and you know it.

- Well, I'd be
worried about this

if I didn't know that
you and Ginger have

an argument about
something every other week.

- I told you, don't
mention her name.

we really mean it.

- Oh, thanks, Jack.

house down at their school,

a family night of it.

- Well, I suppose your

I just know how to make it.

- Just as long as you

How did I get into this anyway?

- You made up some story
about Wally and Ginger

so you could
criticize my cooking.

Well, something

- I think you're just
looking for compliments.

dinner tomorrow night?

- I don't care.

- Well, come on,

How about starting off
with some turtle soup,

then a nice roast turkey
with chestnut dressing,

cranberry sauce, mashed
potatoes with gravy,

asparagus with hollandaise
sauce, and a homemade apple

pie a la mode.

- OK, that's what we'll have.

- But if it turns out
to be leftover meatloaf,

that'll be fine with me.

- Harriet.

Well, that's kind of a
stingy kiss considering

the super duper dinner
you're going to get tonight.

- Oh, that's different.

- That's better.

- OK, where is it?

Stop trifling with
my affections.

You tricked me into giving you
a great big kiss by promising

me a special dinner.

I think I gave you

Gee, what's the
special occasion?

Did I forget a

- No, Kris just
called this morning

and invited us over there.

I think there is something
special about it, though.

- Oh, what do you mean?

- Well, she called me
again about noontime

and asked me how to
make cranberry sauce.

- Oh, well, I know
it's not Thanksgiving.

- I think she's just
trying to prove something

to Rick about her cooking.

- Are you kidding?

She's a wonderful cook.

- Well, you know how
it is with a new bride.

She's trying to prove she can
do something besides boil water.

- No, no, no, you've
got it all wrong.

The new bride is usually
a pretty good cook

because she's really trying.

It's just after
a while when they

start to lose interest
that the meals begin

to get worse and worse.

- What's this?

- I don't mean you.

Your meals never got any worse.

Well, you know what I mean.

They're selling these over the

- That's the way it goes.

d'oeuvres out to the living

So I went to the gift shop, the
toy department, the preteens.

And now I'm in a toy store, and
they don't have it here either.

- Well, get back
over here, will you?

I got to get home.

- I hate to go back to
the campus gift shop

and pay those bandits.

But I guess that's
what I'll have to do.

- You have to get back here,
that's what you have to do.

- What about Ginger?

- Will you forget about Ginger
and get back here, please?

Now, come on, hurry up.

- Well, that's a fine
attitude for you to take.

After all, you were
the one who suggested

I get her something
in the first place.

- I was not.

Just as I hung up,
the lights went out

and the door is locked.
- You're kidding.

on the phone so long,

this wouldn't have happened.

- Well, there must
be somebody in there.

- Yeah, me.

- I mean somebody in the
store, a watchman or somebody.

- Well, if there is,
I can't find them.

You'd think they'd have checked
the telephone before they

locked all the doors.
- Well, call somebody, will you?

And I don't have
any more change.

Get the police or the
fire department, somebody.

Just get me out of here.

- Rick?
- Oh, hi, Pop.

- Hi, I've been calling you
for about a half an hour

and the line's been busy.

You better get on
home or you won't

have any dinner or any wife.

- Gee, I can't leave
to Wally gets here

and he's locked up
in some toy store.

- What?

- Well, the store closed while
he was talking on the phone,

and he got locked in.

- Well, let's call the police
and get him out of there.

- Well, that's just it.

He hung up before he told
me what store he was in.

- Well, I'll take over
here, and you get on home.

Maybe you can locate
him from there.

- It's not my fault I'm late.

I was just trying
to help him out.

- Well, don't tell
me, tell Kris.

And remember, protect
yourself at all times.

- You're sure you can handle it?
- Oh, sure.

- Well, I'll get him down

the police, let them find him?

It was finished an hour ago.

- Hey, here's one
we haven't tried:

Captain Benny's Toy Shop.

[phone rings]

- Hello?

Yeah, is that you, Pop?

- Yeah, look, Rick, I'm
going to need some help.

A whole busload
of people came in.

And some truck drivers came
in when they saw the bus.

And then people started dropping
by when they saw the trucks.

And the worst part of it
is I'm running out of food.

- Why don't you just
tell them and close up?

- Are you kidding?
You ought to see it over here.

It's a regular mob thing.

Hey, wait a second.

I just got an idea.

- Well, gee, I don't know.

I'll ask her and
see what she says.

[chatter]

- Oh, gee, that's great, Rick.

- Can I have some more milk?

- Just a second, folks.

to tell you we have a follow

of a fire at Dennis's Toy Shop.

It turns out it wasn't
a fire after all

but a smoke bomb from
a toy chemistry set.

Some prankster claims he
started it to attract attention

after he got himself
locked in the store.

However, after a brief
interrogation by the police,

he was released.

- Wally!

I forgot all about him.

- Hey.
