Now Ukraine is advancing without using offensive
orders more platoon or company, and with a

small amount of equipment that provides only
support for mobile assault groups, in other

words, there are no mechanized waves of maneuver.

The minus of the NATO school and others is
that they are still living an illusion called

a large-scale ground offensive.

Now we see that this whole topic with large-scale
offensive is perhaps relevant, but how it

can be realized in the Ukrainian realities,
it is not clear.

And the question that all military analysts
and observers are asking now is as follows

: "Is this large-scale ground offensive even
possible or not?".

We see how the wheel of history has taken
another turn and the very same attack stormtroopers

that were present in World War I have returned
to the battlefield.

This is an important remark, by the way.

In their time, stormtroopers laden with grenades
and with the first samples of automatic weapons

in their hands did not just storm fortifications.

They had a very powerful artillery support
in the form of Krupp guns, very powerful howitzers,

which plowed and broke up the defense, and
then came the stormtroopers.

If the artillery did not cope somewhere, then
the attackers became "sad" and they were not

very successful in advancing.

And what do we see now?

HIMARS, M777 howitzer and cluster munitions
have replaced the Krupp guns.

And then again in the battle there are stormtroopers,
platoon or company level.

There are not even brigades organized into
tank, mechanized battalions.

Such as in the Sinai Peninsula, when hundreds
of Israeli tanks were moving and there were

tank battles, there is no such thing.

And doctrines have been built around this.

And this also applies to demining, doctrines
are also left over from the time when there

were no wedding mavics, FPV drones and other
ubiquitous intelligence on the front.

You create a sterile area with the means of
defeat, prevent the enemy from interacting

with that area in any way, where you'll have
your undercover combat engineers working.

And the enemy, according to classic doctrine,
is ground observers, is field reconnaissance.

These are not drones that didn't exist before,
the observer is far away somewhere.

And you keep him under fire control so he
can't see until your engineers have cleared

some area.

Now, that's impossible.

You make a sterile area, you keep it under
fire control, but the enemy just picks up

a drone, sees everything at once, and aims
everything he can point there.

From kamikaze drones to artillery, helicopters
and so on.

Or airplanes come in and start dropping guided
aerial bombs.

The problems are related to this very aspect.

Nevertheless, the Ukrainian General Staff
is finding effective solutions, and the AFU

is able to move forward with these assault
groups with the support of means of defeat.

The Ukrainian Liberation Forces are showing
incredible success in this sense in terms

of adaptation and ability to solve combat
tasks in such unrealistically difficult conditions.

The main motivation of the Ukrainian military
command is not to conduct a large land maneuver,

but to preserve as many people as possible,
as many military personnel as possible.

Still, the main resource, no matter how much
equipment the allies give to Ukraine, is people,

these are Ukrainian defenders.

50 countries are helping Ukraine, there will
be aid, there will be equipment, it is clear,

the same Zaluzhnyi understands it.

But no Rheinmetall will produce people, people
are the most important thing.

Therefore, choosing between fast, but with
heavy losses, or slow, but with fewer losses,

Zaluzhnyi chooses the second option.
