I'm doing this holiday
because I think it will challenge me

and take me out of my comfort zone.

50 miles north in Bedford,

33-year-old Keisha and 34-year-old
Merrit are long-time pals.

We've known each other for,
like, 20-something years,

since Year 9 at school
so quite a while.

I think everybody would say,
who knows Merrit, team leader.

Organises everything,

she'll go round tidying up
when people are still partying.

Keisha and Merrit both have
low-paid office jobs

and struggle to make ends meet.

I feel like over the past recent
years, I've gone, like, a step back.

Bills have gone up,
shopping's gone up.

really expensive now.

I feel like
I work a lot just to live,

just to do the bare minimum.
There's no time for luxury.

To bring in extra money, Keisha
started a cake-making business.

It helps, like a second income, and
I find it quite relaxing as well,

and the bedroom's barely that.

And a noisy four-legged neighbour

which was absolutely hilarious.

I don't think I'd see
her ever ordering snails again

if we got the opportunity to.

It would have been rude if someone
gives you something complimentary

to just not eat it.

I knew before coming away on this

both pairs of friends to return to

the reality of their normal lives.

But before the journeys back home,
