EPISODE 22

Wei Jiang said,

"God knows

your innocence and loyalty

simply because of your sincerity."

Zhu-ge Liang said, "In that case, arrange the immolation

and do as I say.

Set seven-star lamps in the tent

and 49 lamps outside.

Arrange them with the positions of Heavenly Stems and Earthly Branches.

Have 49 soldiers

to patrol around the tent,

all of them wearing black

with black flags in their hands.

Two boys should serve in the tent.

Do not allow

anyone else in.

I'll live longer

if the lights don't go out in seven days.

I won't survive if the lights go out."

Bravo!

Thank you, sir.

Thank you, sir.

Goodness. Thank you, sir.

Thank you, sir.

Yes. Thank you, sir.

You do keep your word, indeed.

Interesting trick.

It's not a trick.

It's intelligence.

Are you taking yourself as God by merely knowing western hypnosis?

I dare not.

The universe is mysterious.

Only the ignorant can be fearless.

Looks like

your reputation is fully justified.

I don't have a reputation.

Only a few know me.

Unlike you, the famous Little River God.

I heard metallic sounds in the wooden clappers.

Good hearing.

The sound of the clappers is the signal of hypnosis, I suppose.

Smart.

Group hypnosis.

I just catch its essence

and fanned it out from a point.

I used his libretto and aria

to express my hypnotic messages.

Are you saying

you integrated the hypnotic messages into the drum performance?

What was today's show?

"It's hard to pull the Han Dynasty out of the way of destruction.

Marquis Zhu-ge's extraordinary talent for military is useless."

-Seven-star lamps. -Yes.

Even with such a great talent,

Marquis Zhu-ge Liang couldn't overcome fate.

The drums and clappers are used as seven-star lamps.

Perfect timing.

In the end, it's still a trick.

It only works on the unguarded.

It has no effect on me.

Are you sure?

Where's Ying Gu?

She is where she should be.

She is needed somewhere.

It's a waste to keep her in such a filthy place.

What do you want?

I'm rarely on stage.

Besides, my favorite audience is standing down there quietly.

I don't beat drums.

How about I tell you a story?

Twenty years ago, a flood engulfed Tientsin.

There were innumerable victims.

In the eyes of the officials,

Qiming Village was nothing but an ant nest.

Dying ants mattered little.

Unfortunately, they caught a strange disease.

It was painful and made their vessels bulge.

Without cure, many of them suffered to death.

Later, they found that opium could relieve the pain,

but it was only temporary relief.

A way to cure the disease was needed urgently.

Those desperate people who strived to survive

were the oldest Ancient Evil Gang.

The strange disease spread fast

while the Ancient Evil Gang grew larger day by day.

Belief brought them hope.

Among them, there was a newborn baby

who was completely immune to the disease.

Meanwhile, his blood could cure the disease.

He was called the Holy Child.

But how could the blood of one baby save thousands of victims?

The Ancient Evil Gang had to look for a new Holy Child to save the world.

But there could only be one Holy Child out of a million children.

You killed children to save yourselves.

Don't try to cover it up.

Great liberation comes from small sacrifices.

Tientsin would be a dead city now without the Ancient Evil Gang.

The Ancient Evil Gang plundered children 20 years ago,

putting the city into a panic.

It was the Ancient Evil Gang who turned Tientsin into a dead city.

It was necessary

for finding the Holy Child.

Three kids ended up alive.

The Holy Child is among them.

But Yi-qiu Ding, Hai-jiang Hu

and Chun Guo

showed up in a bad timing.

Why are you telling me this? That's not my concern.

You'll soon realize

that you'll be most concerned

about who the real holy child is.

What do you mean?

Chun Guo took away one of the three kids who survived.

Guess who it is?

Tide rises and water floods in the bucket.

A centipede bends its tail.

The beauty falls asleep.

Luck or misfortune depends on human efforts.

Where's Ying Gu?

I'll wait for you.

Sorry, sir.

Sorry.

Go!

No problem.

-Here. -Coming!

YAOCHI DANCE HALL

HONG KONG LIAN COMPANY

There he is.

Where have you been? I've been looking for you.

You know what?

My deduction was right.

There's something wrong with San Xiao and the Junior Immortal is still alive.

I know. I just saw him.

What?

Are you all right?

What did he say?

You aren't hypnotized, are you?

The Junior Immortal is too dangerous. We have to figure something out.

I'm asking you.

Where's Ying Gu?

Say something.

What?

Where's Ying Gu?

Chun Guo took away one of the three kids who survived.

Guess who it is?

XIANGLI BAKERY

LINCONGLI SUITCASE

Hua-qing Lian!

You helped me find the Preacher.

He will help me find the holy child.

I'll keep my word.

I'll take out the worm in you right now.

Thank you.

You've done so much for us.

You deserve a status.

I don't want it.

I don't want it!

Hua-qing Lian!

I promised to take out the worm, but I didn't promise to take them all out.

I can't wait to see

how the worms will evolve when the blood of the Ancient Evil Gang

is in a living body.

Hua-qing Lian.

Welcome to the Ancient Evil Gang.

Sorceress.

How dare you come to find me?

Where are you hiding my daughter?

I'll fight you until I see her in person.

-Tell me! -The Junior Immortal is still alive.

He's got Ying Gu.

The past has abandoned me

and there was no need to keep it.

The present worries are what annoys me.

It is out of my power to stop

what's going to happen.

"Tide rises and water floods in the bucket.

A centipede bends its tail.

The beauty falls asleep.

Luck or misfortune depends on human efforts."

What does it mean?

-Where did you hear this? -From the Junior Immortal.

The Geomantic Map of Golden Hook and Silver Sword?

A geomantic map was found when the Ancient Evil Gang was wiped out.

It was claimed to have been drawn by a group of wicked geomancers.

With the map,

the Origin of Dark Water can be found.

The Origin of Dark Water?

Golden Hook and Silver Sword is the name of the map.

"A centipede bends its tail"

sounds like a way to read the map.

Why did the Junior Immortal tell you this?

What is he up to?

We have no time for that.

Sorceress, where's the map?

Let me think.

Based on his personality,

I think

he hid the map.

Who?

I've heard so much about you.

It's a pleasure to finally meet you.

The pleasure is all mine.

Nice to meet you, Little River God.

I'm just a normal person who makes a living on water.

It's a great honor to speak with you.

-You're De-you Guo, right? -Yes.

You have Chun Guo's family name. That's nice.

Come on, Xiao. Don't keep us guessing.

Where's the map?

I'll hand out the map if it can save your daughter's life.

However,

what can he do for your daughter?

I don't care nor am I curious

about your history with the Ancient Evil Gang.

However, if the Ancient Evil Gang achieved their goals,

I don't think you'll be sitting here without a care.

Obviously, Ying Gu was caught because of me.

I know you may not like me

but I think you hate the Ancient Evil Gang even more.

What's the saying again?

About enemy and friend?

The enemy of my enemy is my friend.

You won't get any news about the Ancient Evil Gang

no matter how many people you send.

But if you use me as a bait,

what you get depends on your capability.

What kind of rubbish are you talking about?

Don't you know that Ying Gu's life lies in his hands?

I've been keeping this map

for 20 years.

I knew it would be useful someday.

What's your plan, Little River God?

Let your men follow me.

But they can't take action until Ying Gu gets out.

If Ying Gu is hurt because of your rashness,

I'll challenge you with my life.

Why should I trust you?

There is enmity between the Ancient Evil Gang

and me, my master, you and the whole Tientsin City.

It does good to everyone if the Ancient Evil Gang is eliminated.

Tide rises and water floods in the bucket.

A centipede bends its tail.

The beauty falls asleep.

Luck or misfortune depends on human efforts.

The vitality of yin and yang

spills over as wind and rises up as clouds.

It falls to the ground as rain.

Tigers stay away from water.

Snakes hide from spring thunder.

Toads stay on the moon.

A centipede bends its tail.

Yes.

-That's it. -What?

Worms with hundreds of feet don't die completely.

A centipede bends its tail.

It's about the shape of the road.

In summary,

it is a shape of a centipede bending its tail.

All of it refers

to here.

Who are you?

How boring.

Where am I?

Always the same words.

Why am I here?

Usually, when one wakes up from hypnosis,

one will always ask,

"Where am I? Who are you? Why am I here?"

You just said all of it.

Get me out of here.

Do you think the holy child is on his way here?

The holy child?

Tide rises and water floods in the bucket.

A centipede bends its tail.

The beauty falls asleep.

Luck or misfortune depends on human efforts.

You're with the Ancient Evil Gang.

Our fate depends on the holy child.

Perhaps, so does yours.

Two incoherent things become related just like that.

That's interesting.

Hey!

Don't worry.

It'll be more interesting once the holy child arrives.

Hey, don't leave. Get me out of here!

Get me out of here! Anyone?

It's a huge plant. When can we find her?

I'm not that patient.

Shoot anyone suspicious if you see any.

I said not to move without my instructions!

While we're here, I call the shots.

Anyone?

Is there anyone here?

Help!

Help!

Help!

De-you Gou!

Help me, De-you Guo!

Ying Gu!

There you are.

Open the door.

I repeat. Open the door!

The holy child is like a key to the Ancient Evil Gang.

He can help us open a whole new world.

Shut up!

What's wrong with him? What's the problem?

He looks weird. Is he nuts?

Ying Gu!

De-you!

There you are.

Help me, De-you.

Open the door.

I think you've made the decision.

I repeat. Open the door!

De-you, what are you doing?

The holy child is like a key to the Ancient Evil Gang.

He can help us open a whole new world.

However, the priority is not to open the gate to save

the Ancient Evil Gang with the key.

It is

to open the heart of the holy child.

To lead the holy child to the Ancient Evil Gang

and to recognize a new world.

Give me the key!

If my judgment is right, my mission has been completed.

I'll leave the rest to Hua-qing Lian.

Shut up and give me the key!

Show me if it's really you.

The holy child.

Shut up!

De-you, what are you doing?

De-you!

Why are you coming down? Wake up!

Wake up, De-you.

What's wrong with you, De-you?

Wake up, De-you.

De-you, wake up. I'm right here!

Can you hear me?

De-you!

De-you.

De-you!

De-you!

You haven't changed at all over these years.

Are you here to talk about the past?

Of course not.

I'll get to the point.

The Ancient Evil Gang is causing trouble.

The Junior Immortal is out of prison.

Do you need me to tell you what happened?

-I know. -Well, it's easy to say.

All of you know but none of you can solve the problems.

I want to make it clear.

None of us can live comfortably until the Ancient Evil Gang is wiped out.

I suggest you gather all of your people,

officials and soldiers included.

When it's too late, you'll be finished

no matter who you are.

Are you here to advise me or beg me?

-I came to warn you. -Thank you then.

There's one more thing.

Your daughter and Mao Ding are quite close to each other.

It seems nice.
