My name is Missy Byrd.
I'm 28 years old.

I was in the military
for six years,

and then after getting out,

I wanted to something
totally different.

ZANE: I'm Zane.
I live in the Rocky Mountains.

I'm a professional hunter
in the winter, and then I have

a construction company
in the spring and summer.

SARAH: My name is Sarah Danser.

I am a "Naked and Afraid"
all-star.

I've done four challenges
for a total of 88 days.

You just, like,
you can't see your toes

in, like, knee-high water.

My name is J,
I'm 37 years old,

and I'm from Tampa, Florida.

Don't mistake my attitude
and my smile for weakness.

I'm the one to beat.
Don't cross me.

Ah, the water feels excellent.

AMAL: I'm Amal.
I am 38 years old,

and I am from
Cedar Rapids, Iowa.

I am a go-getter.
I am somebody

that does not say no
to a challenge.

Hello, survivalists.
Welcome to Fiji.

I'm Akbar Gbajabiamila,

and this is Taveuni Island...

Where you'll attempt to survive
for the next 25 days.

Now, don't let the looks
of this tropical paradise

deceive you.

Yes, it is beautiful,

but this island
has a dangerous side.

In primitive survival,

if a person is hungry,
they have three choices.

They can hunt, they can forage,

or, if they're strong enough,

they can take food by force.

At its core, survival is about
securing your resources

from the elements,
from predators,

and from one another.

KEALI'I: The only thing that's
gonna scare me in this challenge

is the human factor, because
I can't account for them.

I can only account for me.

AKBAR: This island has
everything you need to survive.

There's one great source
of fresh water,

one lagoon with fish,

a shelter built
in an ideal location,

and one good source
of dry firewood.

Put all that together,

and this island's prominent
natural resources

are a survivalist's dream
come true.

When a competitor claims
one of the natural resources,

they own it and can do with it
as they see fit.

But the owner of a resource
must be ready

to defend it.

If you wish to call
a resource challenge,

you must find a traditional
Fijian drum

at the center of the island.

Once you find it,
beat the drum

in order to declare a battle for
the resource that you desire.

This is basically
hand-to-hand combat.

Do I look like I'm fit
for hand-to-hand combat?

Something else.

Each of you will have one
randomly selected survival tool

at your disposal.

Just like the resources,

your tool can also
be challenged for.

All fights for resources
and tools

will take place in the Arena.

If the owner loses the fight,

they must surrender
the resource or tool

and walk away empty-handed.

If the challenger loses...

WOMAN: Go!

They lose their fight
to survive

and are banished
from the island.

[dramatic chords]

MISSY: Hey, put up or shut up.
That's what it is, bro.

I love the fact
that we're literally in a ring

fighting for each other's
resources or tools.

AKBAR: There are no vote-offs
on this island.

So aside from banishment,

the only ways off
are tapping out

or being medically evacuated.

At the end of 25 days,

those remaining will split
$100,000.

[cheering and whooping]

However, the law of the jungle

rewards survival of the fittest.

So if one of you
is strong enough to be

the last person standing,

then that survivalist
will be rewarded

with $250,000.

J: Yeah! Let's go!

So the question before you
is this:

Will you cooperate
and work together to survive,

or will you do it alone...

and unmercifully take down
the others

to win the prize
all to yourself?

But now, all we need to do

resources to survive.

I'm super competitive
and super athletic.

I know I can overtake whoever

to gain any resource
or any tool I need.

There are four prime resources:

fire, shelter,

water, and food.

MISSY: Each one has
a necklace attached to it.

And so if you wear the necklace,

you are the owner
of that resource.

ZANE: You can build shelter.

You can find other places
to fish or to hunt.

But water is the most
important resource.

-I shoulda done more cardio.
-[chuckles]

[dramatic music]

JONATHAN: Resources
are going to be

the only way that you get
to the end of this game.

I am the owner
of this beautiful lagoon

full of fish, full of water
that I have to boil.

I got food.

I don't know
what's happening out there.

It's scaring me,
because I do not trust people.

I was so close to that one.

Looks like I got shelter.

Hells yeah.

That's like a two-story
double-decker

ocean front treehouse.

I'm stoked.

-Oh, my God, it's beautiful.
-It's next to the water, too.

Right next to the water.

It's just gonna be party
in my treehouse, basically.

That probably woulda been

one of my main resources
I would've wanted to have.

But I ain't worried about it.

MISSY: We got night fog coming
probably in the next hour.

Well, if we're all gonna
be at the shelter tonight,

then we should get
that fire pit good first.

AMAL: Yeah, I agree.
SARAH: It's not limitless--

Amal wants to be the leader.

Amal. From the moment

Fire and I have a very, uh,
love and hate relationship.

And I'm stubborn as [bleep],

so I don't plan on going to bed
until this fire is started.

Whether it's by me
or one of my girls,

it's gonna get started,
like that's it.

I was born in the Middle East.

We were actually
running away from the war

because my dad was in the army
against Saddam Hussein.

So we left Iraq to get refuge
in Saudi Arabia.

They took us to this camp

where there was a lotta
other families.

Once you get it going...

There was 14 of us
and family members at the time.

We had a loaf of bread
maybe this big

and a gallon of water
to share a day.

One gallon, 14 people, a day.

Be ready.

equipment, it benefits us.

that my throat was very sore

and my head
was really pounding.

this morning and shivers.

on "Naked and Afraid."

She's legit, and she did it
all vegan.

Dani's a legend.

There is a looming threat.

We can literally just
get sick and have to tap.

"I just hate being the weakling

anybody."

Like, seeing how sad and, like,

SARAH: I am worried
about Matty now, too.

It was pretty disturbing
to see him.

JONATHAN: Does he still have

SARAH: I don't know.

snapper thing that I saw.

Also, the parrot fish
looked pretty good, too.

Stephanie: Parrot fish should be
nice out there.

What were your thoughts
about this morning?

Yeah, this morning was kinda

STEPHANIE: Yeah.
I have a lot of opinions

on Team Fight.

Me and Yuda left immediately

as soon as Amal started
barking orders at everyone.

The way that Amal like woke us
up with this to-do list...

Stephanie: Just intensity

YUDA: Yeah, and it's like, dude,
you have nothing to offer.

Like, what are you talking
about?

You know, she's talking
so much about...

Making sure that we don't give
anything to anyone.

But then all she's done

be able to use anything.

AMAL: The other team
is threatened by me

because my tribe is the
strongest one out there--

physically, mentally,
and everything else.

At the end of the day,
there's only one person

I'm worried about,
and that's me.

KEVIN: So, Matthew,
I got bad news for you.

We're gonna have to
take you off the show.

You know, we feel that
you have an infection,

and we feel that it's not safe
for you to continue.

The vomiting that happened
and the fever

has been spiking on and off--

uh, it can be very dangerous
for you to continue.

So that's why we're taking
the decision once again.

that you cannot continue,

but your life comes first.

SARAH: Matty's been having
some issues.

I can't lose Matt.
He's my friend.

He's a good guy.

getting a mask.

A lotta people see that as one
of the most valuable tools,

'cause obviously,
you go in there to hunt fish.

But you can't do nothing
without the fishing spear.

with your hand and catch it?

catching fish with their hand.

STEPHANIE: Throw it over,
if it'll go.

Ooh, fish!

Between seven to ten fish
have been caught

in these past days
here on the island,

and we have not seen
a single one.

To the point where

I literally saw Yuda suit up,
get in the water--

bam, caught a fish.

Probably his third one.
He took it,

threw it right past me,
threw it to Sarah.

No acknowledgement of

"Let's have a team bonfire.
Let's all hang out."

It became very clear
in that moment,

just that simple throwing it
as I'm talking to her:

you have no desire to feed me.

I have a bamboo spear
over there to put it on,

otherwise it's gonna get
covered with ants.

They're eating. We're drinking
and eating coconuts.

We need that protein, so...

gotta do what we gotta do.

STEPHANIE:
The boys at water camp

really appreciated the fish,
by the way--the little ones.

That fish passing my feet

showed me what type of game
they were playing.

They want to play
a war of attrition.

We can do it.

Dude, it's so hard to not
choose violence immediately.

J: Yeah.
MISSY: And he's just getting

better with time.

So now, if you have something
and you're not sharing it

and we need it to survive,
I will take it.

And it's unfortunate,
the pain that you're about to

go through because of it.

J: You gotta get that spear.

MISSY: Especially for our,
like, uh, energy.

J: Yeah.

AMAL: Where have you been?

MISSY: Yeah.
-How'd that go?

to make peace.

'Cause there are things
that we need.

We haven't caught any food
ourselves that's sustainable,

and now Yuda caught fish,
and guess where the fish are.

How many he catch?

He caught quite a few fish.

ROBBY: Does anyone else
want half an eyeball?

YUDA: We had an eyeball
together.

ROBBY: Let's eat.
That's a fresh fish.

[dramatic chords]

MISSY: And so potentially
a tactic would be

like if we can't challenge you
to beat you,

maybe we'll starve you,
obviously.

And they have so many fish.
If they told you

there are no fish
and they're lying like that...

Like, he's pretty set up
over there.

He said the reef
is nicer over there.

The fire's pretty big
over there.

And the fish are, like, sitting
next to, uh, Sarah's fire.

So I would only assume if you're
sitting the fish right there...

This 5 will lose
if 12 other people

are coming at us all the time.

They will systematically
starve us.

They will kill us.

I feel mostly the sad emotions

that they will share food
with everyone else

but not with us.

If you wanna starve me,
I can play your game,

and I know I can play it better.

[tense music]

MISSY: He doesn't have time
to pick a fighter,

and if he chooses Christina,

which is the only person
that's bigger,

we can offer to share fish
with her.

-She doesn't wanna fight.

As soon as I hit the drum,
I'll feel peace.

And if it is through fighting
for my life in this game,

you best believe I will
go to sleep tonight happy.

I have to use my skill set.

lookin' to get in the Arena.

What I think that will do
