going on cheap holidays in the UK.

and we used to holiday on a budget.

we went to the Isle of Wight.

But that was a long, long time ago.

They've since grown accustomed
to the high life.

How are we gonna have fun

For me,
it's more of a nostalgic experience.

Maybe it'll bring back
some memories that we used to have.

And we can learn that a good holiday
is not always an expensive holiday.

50 miles away in Southampton

are a family from the opposite end
of the wealth divide,

mother Cheryl and son Harvey.

Cheryl gets by on a low wage
as a support worker,

and when she isn't looking after
people,

she is looking after
her rescue dogs.

My mum is a lovely, caring person
that loves to help people.

Son Harvey is 27.

He works at a local factory
and lives at home with his mum,

who he cooks for
every chance he gets.

I absolutely love to cook,
home cooking,

cooking for family, friends.

Harvey is a really old-fashioned,
kind, gentle soul.

He's my life.
And he's my mummy's boy.

I still wanna blow raspberries
on his belly.

Don't tell him I said that, though.

Harvey enjoys a quiet life

and can lack
the confidence to try new things.

I'm quite a closed-off person,
so I might come and sit indoors

for most of the night or sometimes,
on a weekend or something.

I want him to have his independence,
we all need that.

I don't know
what's holding him back.

I'd like to see him happy,
that's all I've ever wanted.

Trips abroad
aren't in their price range.

With a limited budget,

the duo are used to scraping by
on holidays closer to home.

All the holidays we tend to go on
are in the actual UK.

I've never been abroad in my life.

We work festivals,
we've gone to the Isle of Wight.

Camping,
we've been on a camping holiday.

It's got harder, hasn't it
because of the cost of living?

The concept of having a holiday,

not worrying about money is
quite alien, to be quite truthful.

The budget for our usual holidays

are quite literally
a couple hundred pounds,

that would be for the fuel, food,

the place we'd stay
and the activities.

This is lovely.

And there is another reason why it's
time for Harvey to spread his wings.

Harvey, he's had
a few tough events in his life

that he's had to get over.

The later part of last year,

we lost one of my best friends,
who was only 24.

He died of a drug overdose.

Something like this, going abroad,

he would never have had
the confidence to do.

When it happened, he made a promise
that no matter what came along,

he would take a chance
and do things that he never got...

Oh, I'm sorry.

And it's not only Harvey
who could get a huge amount

out of the holiday swap.

My mum doesn't take that much time
to look after herself.

'She tends to put everyone else
first, rather than herself.'

My mum, more than anyone that
I know, she deserves this trip.

on all their activities and meals

it's so pricey because the cows
are fed beer and given massages.

I gave it a really good go.

Two days ago, we were in
Southampton. And now... Dubai.

...way out of their price range.

I've never spent that much on food.

And a pair of playboys have
a crappy time on a campsite...

We have met some fantastic people
over the last, sort of, few days.

It's day four of the holiday swap,
and in Surrey,

millionaires Marco and Paul
are hunting down a barbecue.

Perfect. What else could we ask for?
And we got coal.

They're hosting a bash
for some new friends they have made

while enduring the cold campsite.

You know, the staff here have been
absolutely amazing to us here.

And so we actually wanna do
something for them tonight,

so Marco decided to do a barbecue
for them.

They've invited 15 guests.

But having blown
through their budget...

Wow, this is amazing.

...they can only spend £20 on food
for everyone.

I told the gentleman
we want sausages, burgers,

lamb kofta and bavette steak

but not more than £20, all right?
Lovely, perfect.

We'll take four of those.

Lovely.
We're at £19.72 at the minute. OK.

Obviously, that's not including
the sausages. OK. Er...

But with barely enough to feed
five people,

all their hopes lie with
the generosity of their new friends.

If they've got any, like, snacks
or nibbles that they can bring,

like, maybe, some coleslaw,
maybe a bit of salad or something,

that will all help
with the, with the barbecue.

Over in Dubai,
there's no stopping Harvey.

He is grabbing the luxury life
by the horns.

And now he really has
the chance to show his mettle.

They've hired a dune buggy
which can cost over £2,000 a day...

...and are heading into
the vast Arabian desert

that surrounds the city.

Woo! This is incredible.

On this holiday,
there's no holding Harvey back.

Despite not having
a driving licence,

he is pushing mum out the way.

When Harvey got behind that wheel,
he couldn't wait.

He was like a kid in a candy store.

He did scare me a couple of times
cos he really put his foot down.

Oh, my God.

And he really surprised me.
He was brilliant.

If I had
millions and millions of pounds,

I would definitely be doing this
all day, every day.

What an experience.

with a professional chef.

I love cooking.
It's one of my passions.

So learning a few Asian meals
is gonna be a brilliant experience,

and hopefully, I can take it home.
Harvey's got to learn how to cook

a traditional three-course
Thai banquet.

I've never cooked prawns before.

After that, we add the crab peanut.

I'm not sure
how it's even meant to taste,

but it tastes lovely, so I'm not
sure if I need to add anything else.

While Harvey learns
yet another new skill,

Cheryl is learning
the importance of taking a break,

enjoying a £150 session
at the hotel's luxury spa.

I always like to put people first.
I genuinely love doing that.

I think that having this holiday
has given me the chance

to actually think about myself

and actually enjoy
the pamper session,

whereas you know, if I'd been home,
I'd be worried about,

“I've gotta get back to this,
gotta get back for that,"

but this was just...
I fell asleep, and I snored.
