getting stronger everyday.

So we have started
back to looking at our
dream house again.

neighborhood over here.

Not only do we have to make
room for our 14 children

chemo sessions left,

I feel like I'm starting
to see the light

of the tunnel again.

'Cause when you look
at other people
celebrating their birthday,

it usually comes with, like,
families and stuff

but that was never
my norm so...

Growing up in a foster care
system, I didn't have

consistency when it came
to celebrating birthdays
with family.

And I never really
entertained the idea,

like, it gotta be different.

It was such a normal for me
I kinda, like, accepted it.

So my birthday isn't something
I really look forward to often

because it's usually
not celebrated anyway.

So what about, uh, holidays?

spending some Christmases
in my bedroom

while all the celebration
was being done downstairs or--

they was very vocal with

letting me know
that I'm family

and at the beginning,

understood what it meant

'cause I was so far removed

from the hopes
of being anyone's family.

Having a life of meeting
stranger after stranger,

And so to have
lived my whole life

It's hard for me

It saddens me to my core.

To think that people
can be so mean to children.

What does it leave
the child with?

It leaves them with
an empty life, an empty heart.

Where does that pain come
from? What causes that?

When you grow up
in foster care,

you observant of what it means
to be with family,

what it means to see someone

what it means to see someone

take care of their children,
not whatever.

But it still creates
the concept

of you understanding
how you not getting that.

[GG] It just makes
me feel so bad for him.

If I had been
through any parts

of what Eric had gone through,

I probably would have
felt the same way.

I think that's what hurts.

something that I could do

to make him know
you don't have to be

blood related
to become family,

something to make him
really appreciate

that he is as special
