of the Kalahari desert

is it's very chilly.

and I believe it 100 percent.

seems bone dry.

But Jaclin and Michael
are entering the challenge

as a sudden cold front
has caused the mercury
to drop into the forties.

brings violent wind storms,

reaching speeds of up to
30 miles an hour,

making it even harder
to survive.

[Jaclin] I'm extremely nervous
about the lions,

there's lots of bones,
it's a feeding ground
out here.

for 30 miles around,

which attracts aggressive

we do shelters all the time
and make little forts.

but I've never killed

and I don't think
that she views me
as a strong protector

like she does her father.

but she's never had to kill
her own food to survive.

a primitive survival rating,

I have always been
determined to come out

that have happened to me
in my past affect me now.

severed off,

and I begged them
to reattach them
and put them back

so that I could have
use of my hands.

It took about a year
to rebound from that.

It made me
mentally stronger.

That determination is what
I'm going to bring here
to this challenge.
