Fifteen days have passed since
the incident at Boulevard Maillot,

where more than a hundred
of society's most influential people

were asphyxiated and robbed
by the Vampires.

But their rival, the thief
Juan Jose Moreno, driven by hatred,

managed to steal the loot
from them.

Neither the police
nor Philippe Guérande

nor Mazamette
could intervene in time.

Moreno intently combed
the newspapers,

looking for clues that could put him
on the trail of his enemies.

did not escape the notice
of the pseudo count de Kerlor.

in a systematic search

of the Americans' room.

an iron chest filled with banknotes,

which may be returned
