My grandparents' ornaments. You know, I was walking through

the--through the square today, and I saw their plaque,

and it-- it brought back such a vivid

recollection of a phone conversation

we had years ago. >> Alice: Julie, darling?

>> Julie: Grandma, how are you? >> Alice: I'm fine, dear.

How are you? >> Julie: Oh, all right,

I guess. I've missed you so much.

in San Francisco... surviving, really.

Uh... I was terribly lonely,

so I decided to call my grandparents.

And... they invited me to come home

for Christmas. You see, the year before,

I'd put my son up for adoption. Your father, Eli.

I didn't think I could come back.

I'd lost so much. It was so painful.

Yeah, I did. And through this incredible

twist of fate, I got to raise David.

He's gone now. But he left me two

wonderful grandsons, Scotty...and you, Eli.

And I learned something. When times are tough,

nothing gets you through it like the love of a big, messy,

wonderful family.

then enlisted his little boy toy to help cover it up.

I wasn't gonna stand for it, so I showed up here,

I attacked Leo, and I killed him.

and incredibly stupid. It doesn't matter which one

of you idiots pushed me. The pictures implicate you both

in the cover-up. So you're both going down...

a complex or two, but if I were to give you

one compliment, it's that you raised a really wonderful son
