But there's also grooming
when it comes to a trafficker
and the victim.

And what that looks like

is often just being
really friendly
in the beginning.

A girl says to her friend,
"I'm dating this guy.
He's super nice.

He wants to take us both
to get our nails done."

After the grooming period,
frankly, the pimp
takes ownership.

A lot of minors
are trapped in this
human trafficking machine

because you can't get out.

that he's using

We just decided to search that
and see if it happened
to be him,

or if there was another Marco

who happened to own
that same exact vehicle.

And it turns out that it was
in fact his review.

Now we can package it up,
and give it to law enforcement
in New York.

that a minor victim
may go through.

We identify a perpetrator,
we get all the information
we can,

we package it up
and send it over
to law enforcement.

And aside from
maybe testifying,
that's where our job ends.

Unfortunately, I cannot
force the hand of a prosecutor

or law enforcement or a judge.

It's not really our place
to make those decisions.

We are not law enforcement,

a former sheriff's deputy
is sentenced

after being caught
in a sex sting in 2019.

And while awaiting sentencing
for that charge, the man
was caught again

trying to meet with
a teenage girl

who turned out to be
an undercover informant.

As a result of
that second offense,

the judge in the case
increased the man's sentence

from one to two years to ten.

When our suspect reached out
to their undercover profile,

it established a pattern
of behavior.

This[bleep] could've
wound up with something
as low as probation

or minimal jail time.

What she's doing out there
is making a difference

and helping law enforcement
every day,

and to making sure
predators are being
locked up.
