[AUDIENCE CHEERING]

[JAZZY PIANO CONTINUES]

Adele? Coming back?

EMMA: I'm just so excited to see

one of the greatest singers of all time.

ALAN: Oh my God! The atmosphere is electric.

Everyone is gagging for a bit of Adele.

She is gifted, beyond gifted. I'm thrilled to be here.

["I'll Be Waiting" by Adele playing]

This is a house of love for her tonight. So it's gonna be wonderful.

I feel really honored to be a part of it, it's great.

We've all been wondering what she's been recording.

Finally, we're gonna hear it live for the first time,

so yeah, it's a really big moment.

We're gonna be amongst the first people in the world

to hear these songs, it's really special.

I think she's one of the great originals,

she has the most phenomenal voice.

Everything she sings is from the heart,

and that's just a true superstar, really.

She is the master at it, so I'm excited to see that.

This is the hottest ticket in town. I actually can't believe it.

What a night. And I literally can't wait.

* I love to see everybody in short skirts *

* Shorts and shades *

* I like it in the city when two worlds collide *

* You get the people and the government *

* Everybody taking different sides *

* To tell you I'm sorry for breaking your heart *

* But it don't matter *

* It clearly doesn't tear you apart anymore *

[AUDIENCE ROARS]

Hi!

[AUDIENCE CONTINUES ROARING]

ADELE: Hello! Hello to you lot there!

Hello!

Oh, guys!

I got really emotional

when I come 'round the bend up there!

[AUDIENCE LAUGHS]

Oh dear, I haven't been home for so long

and I haven't played a show here for so long.

How are you all?

[AUDIENCE ROARS AND CHEERS]

[ADELE EXCLAIMS] You lot are way more raucous

-than them lot down 'ere, obviously. -[AUDIENCE LAUGHS]

So we're all on the telly, which is gonna be very exciting.

I'm actually such a-- hang on. Let me have a little--

[AUDIENCE LAUGHS]

May I get a hot honey? That's a chamomile.

-I'm not a diva. Anyway... -[AUDIENCE LAUGHS]

[EXCLAIMS] Gotta get me breath back.

-I'm very, very nervous. Um... -[AUDIENCE AWES]

[STUTTERS] I-- Of course I bloody am!

-Anyway... I am! -[AUDIENCE LAUGHS]

I'm such a big fan of an Audience With.

It used to be, like, the highlight of me life

whenever it was on, so I'm so thrilled

to be doing it tonight.

-[AUDIENCE CHEERS] -ADELE: Really excited.

ADELE: Very, very excited.

And we're gonna take some questions actually,

which I'm very excited about.

[AUDIENCE LAUGHS]

Dawn French, where are--

[CHEERING]

Hi, I love you.

-DAWN: Hi. -ADELE: Hi.

Hi, well, tonight is all about you, Adele,

so I want to ask you

when youare going to write a song about me?

[LAUGHING]

No, that is not my question. [CHUCKLES]

That is not my question.

Your music is so relatable,

do you have tons of people coming up to you

to tell you all about their break-ups

and their relationship issues?

To be hones-- Ooh! Someone found that funny!

[AUDIENCE LAUGHS]

To be honest, when I'm not, you know, in singing mode,

you know, which is most of my life, obviously--

Not much, but you know, at a party or something like that,

someone will have a drink and then come over

and tell me their whole relationship history

and I'm just trying to have a laugh.

And you know, sometimes

if I get to meet my fans and stuff like that,

especially on the tour last time,

I loved going into the crowd and meeting people,

and some of the stories were wild!

Like, you know, they really credited me for like,

either getting them through or making them kick him out,

-you know, and stuff like that. -[AUDIENCE LAUGHS]

So kinda, yeah. Why? You alright?

[AUDIENCE LAUGHS AND APPLAUDS]

All good.

Good. I must say, you look absolutely amazing!

-So do you! -Thank you, darling. Thank you.

Alright! Hollywood-- Samuel L. Jackson, where are you?

-[AUDIENCE CHEERS] -[ADELE EXCLAIMS]

-Hey! -ADELE: Hi!

-SAMUEL: Hey! -What was your question?

My question is:

Have you ever used your

"Adele-ity" to get out of a ticket?

-I can't believe you drive, first of all, or-- -I do!

-SAMUEL: Do you? -Of course, I do!

Well, have you used your "Adele-ity"

to get out of any other precarious situation?

Well, one time, on the 401, Samuel L. Jackson.

-[SAMUEL CHUCKLES] -[AUDIENCE LAUGHS]

When I first moved L.A.--

which, by the way, was never meant to be as long as it is.

But when I first moved there, I'd never really driven there,

and I was in the fast lane, like in the far left lane,

not going that fast, there was actually quite a lot of traffic,

and I was in a rental,

and the windows were tinted a bit too dark,

but I didn't know that, you know.

Anyways, I was minding my own business,

and then suddenly, a police car pulls up behind me

and, you know, he's like basically hinting that I need to pull over or whatever,

so I just stopped where I was, I didn't know--

I'd never been pulled over in my life.

So I pulled over in the carpool lane, they call it, don't they?

He comes on that like, that tannoy on top of the car, screaming at me, being like,

"What the hell are you doing!" "Pull off! Pull off!"

So I followed him, and we went off.

I was just on my way to the supermarket, actually.

[INDISTINCT] I was living my best life.

He pulls me over, I wind all the windows down,

as I've been taught to do before--

especially if you're getting pulled over in America,

-you never know what they're gonna do. -[AUDIENCE LAUGHS]

And... I gave him my British driver's license, [CHUCKLES]

which might as well have been like a Blockbuster card.

Like, he's never seen it before.

Also, looks nothing like me.

It's like me when I was like 17.

Goes back--

You know, I'm English, I'm just here for a bit,

like, blah blah blah, you know, proving that it's real,

and then he goes back to the car and comes back

and he's on the phone with his wife

who's screaming at him on the phone for pulling me over.

He's like, "I'm so sorry, Adele."

"Sorry. Do whatever it is you need to do."

[LAUGHING] And I got away with it!

I was shaking the whole way to Bristol Farms.

It was hilarious! But yes, so I did. Kind of.

I didn't mean to, I was ready to go to jail.

-But-- -[AUDIENCE LAUGHS]

But he was-- well, she saved the day, really.

[AUDIENCE LAUGHS]

Anyone that's ever come to one of my shows before,

you know there's not that many chances

to have a little shoulder boogie or anything like that,

cuz most of them are sad and miserable,

-[AUDIENCE LAUGHS] -So... But if you want to,

this is, you know, it's only chance to dance.

[LAUGHING]

ADELE: So enjoy!

[AUDIENCE CHEERING]

[UPBEAT JAZZY GUITAR MUSIC]

[CHEERING AND CLAPPING]

Thank you.

[THUNDEROUS CHEERING AND APPLAUSE]

ADELE: You are so kind. Thank you.

Oh, thank you so much. So kind.

Thank you.

Thank you so much.

I'm excited but nervous to sing like new songs.

They've been finished for quite a while

but there's something about that one

that just scares the life out of me.

-[LAUGHING] -[ADELE SIGHS]

so I don't just like, wallow in meself.

[LAUGHING]

Alright, Gareth Southgate.

[CHEERING]

ADELE: Where are yo-- oh, hello!

Hi!

Yes, well done.

It was bloody wonderful watching everything in the summer.

It was the best. How are ya?

I'm good, thank you for your support.

We saw all the videos of your getting quite--

-Hit me 'ead on a cupboard and nearly passed out! -[LAUGHING]

-So we're supposed to be about collaboration-- -ADELE: Yes.

Sometimes we get that right.

Of everybody in here tonight,

who would you most like to collaborate with?

[AUDIENCE AWES CURIOUSLY]

Probably put me on a blind date, then?

[GARETH AND AUDIENCE LAUGH]

I'm gonna say Daniel Kaluuya.

Obviously, I'm not an actress,

but I just think you are the greatest actor,

I really, really do.

I'm mesmerized by you and your work,

and I'd love to just be--

or even just watch you work one day,

cuz I feel like I'd learn a lot.

Yes, and you.

If you want to sign me as a footballer, you know.

-[GARETH AND AUDIENCE LAUGHS] -We'll take ya.

ADELE: Okay, Hannah? Where are you, Hannah? Right, superstar!

-Bonsoir, Mademoiselle-- -Oh my gosh, sorry, hello. Bonsoir,hello.

-ADELE: Sorry. -You look breathtaking.

-Congratulations on everything. -Thank you so much.

-ADELE: It's literally my favorite show. -Thank you, thank you!

ADELE: Give her a round of applause!

-[AUDIENCE CLAPS] -HANNAH: Listen.

You are so rightly idolized all around the world,

but I just wanted to know who are your idols, and why?

AUDIENCE: Beyoncé!

You know I love me some Beyoncé, but [MUMBLES]

you know, my idols, and I'm about so say,

I can't really compare anything I do to Beyoncé,

just because it's like night and day,

-and she's just heavenly... -[HANNAH LAUGHS]

But I couldn't also really compar--

D'ya know what? Beyoncé's one of me favorites, guys.

She's not one of me idols.

-Don't come for me. -[AUDIENCE LAUGHS]

I always say, like, Bette Midler,

-Barbara Streisand, for sure. -[CHEERING]

And they're definitely like, unreachable in every way,

but just the humor,

and just that I feel like I have that in common with them.

You know, it's like slightly like,

everyone likes to sing sad songs but then like,

you talk dirty and all that.

But no one sings their face off like you, my friend.

Oh, thank you.

It's just cuz I can't breath properly in this dress.

-HANNAH: Magnificent. -Thank you, my love.

Again, congratulations on everything.

HANNAH: Thank you. Likewise.

Yeah, like Barbara and Bette, and Celine Dion,

she's a joker and all, isn't she?

[AUDIENCE LAUGHS AND CLAPS]

We announced the, you know, tracklist for the album the other day,

and someone told me that this one caused quite a stir

because it's called "I Drink Wine."

[AUDIENCE CHEERING]

Which was just a joke that stuck,

and it ended up becoming the name of the song.

But it's a song about really growing up, I think.

I feel like a lot of people will relate to the lyrics of it.

I'm sort of asking someone a question,

but I also feel like it's us all asking each other

and asking ourselves the questions.

But it's definitely one of me favorites,

so I hope you like it.

[AUDIENCE CHEERING]

[EMOTIONAL PIANO MUSIC]

["I DRINK WINE" BY ADELE PLAYS]

* How can one become so bounded *

* By choices that somebody else makes? *

* How come we've both become a version *

* Of a person we don't even like? *

* We're in love with the world *

* But the world just wants to bring us down *

* By putting ideas in our heads *

* That corrupt our hearts somehow *

* When I was a child *

* Every single thing could blow my mind *

* Soaking it all up for fun *

* But now I only soak up wine *

* They say to play hard you work hard *

* Find balance in the sacrifice *

* Yet I don't know anybody who's truly satisfied *

* You better believe I'm trying to keep climbing *

* But the higher we climb *

* Feels like we're both none the wiser *

* So I hope I learn to get over myself *

* Stop trying to be somebody else *

* So we can love each other for free *

* Everybody wants something *

* You just want me *

* Why am I obsessing *

* About the things I can't control? *

* Why am I seeking approval *

* From people I don't even know? *

* In these crazy times I hope to find *

* Something I can cling on to *

* 'Cause I need some substance in my life *

* Something real something that feels true *

* You better believe for you I've cried *

* High tides *

* 'Cause I want you so bad *

* But you can't fight fire with fire *

* Oh, so I hope I learn myself *

* Stop trying to be somebody else *

* Oh, I just want to love you *

* Love you for free *

* Everybody wants something from me *

* You just want me *

* Listen I know how low I can go *

* I give as good as I get *

* You get the brunt of it all *

* 'Cause you're all I've got left *

* Oh, I hope in time *

* We both will find peace of mind *

* Sometimes the road less traveled *

* Is a road best left behind *

* Well I hope I learn to get over myself *

* Stop trying to be somebody else *

* Oh, I just want to love you, love you for free, yeah *

* 'Cause everybody wants something from me *

* You just want me *

* You better believe I'm trying*

* To keep climbing *

* But the higher we climb *

* Feels like we're both none the wiser *

-[AUDIENCE CHEERS AND APPLAUDS] -ADELE: Thank you.

We've got some more questions, Idris?

-[IDRIS EXCLAIMS] -[ADELE EXCLAIMS]

[AUDIENCE CHEERS]

ADELE: 'Ello! Me name's Adele. Adele, Adele.

-IDRIS: How are you? Oh my God. -ADELE: I'm good, how are you?

I'm amazing, hello, Adele! Hello, Adele's band!

ADELE: Yes!

[CHEERING]

I wanted to ask you what your favorite biscuit was,

but my wife said "Don't ask that."

-It's a cream custard. -It's a stupid question.

So, the question I really have for you is

that you've inspired singers,

you've created incredible albums,

but what's the little tiny moment that you've done

that you're very most proud of?

I feel like, to be honest,

I always feel a bit of impostor syndrome,

-with everything that I do-- -[AUDIENCE AWES]

No, I do! And that's fine.

I think it's probably a good thing.

Imagine if I didn't think that, I'd be horrible.

[IDRIS AND AUDIENCE LAUGH]

But one thing I am really, really proud of,

and I can't remem-- and I feel like probably everyone

in my band and my team know this, like,

I can't remember much of it, cuz it was such a--

headlining Glastonbury--

-[AUDIENCE CHEERS] -...was like-- I just

they had been asking me for a while--

Not for that long, obviously,

cuz they asked me at the end of "21"

and I was like, "Oh my God, no!"

I was not ready.

And I grew up going to festivals,

so it was kinda quite sad for me

that I felt like I couldn't do it.

So I said yes, actually,

when I was watching Kanye headline

because he'd come on and everyone just went mad,

and I was so excited. I was like, I'm gonna do it!

I said it there and then to Emily,

and I didn't think I'd actually turn up.

Like, I drove there myself on my own.

-There was torrential rain-- -What?!

Yeah! Listening to Spice Girls the whole way,

like really trying to zone in--

-[AUDIENCE LAUGHS AND CHEERS] -ADELE: No, for real.

And then I thought I might die on the motorway,

driving meself back because I couldn't see anything,

and the fact that I turned up and actually got on the stage.

I was so scared and I loved every minute of it.

-IDRIS: Yeah. -ADELE: Not that I remember it,

but I remember in the moment just being like,

"this is amazing, like,"

so it was definitely Glastonbury,

the fact that I said I'd do it and I did.

Well, we love you! We love you so much.

-You're amazing. -Thank you, darling. Thank you.

[APPLAUSE AND CHEERING]

Babes, what're you gonna say, Alan?

[ALAN CACKLES]

-Right, 'ello love! -'Ello!

What's your question? I'm nervous.

No! Listen, it's lovely. Well, not really.

[LAUGHTER]

Famously, you write songs about your exes.

If your exes wrote a song about you.

[LAUGHING]

What would it be called and what would it sound like?

-[ADELE SIGHS] -ALAN: We wanna know everything.

-[AUDIENCE LAUGHS] -[ALAN GIGGLES]

Probably be called "No One Like You," I imagine.

-[ALAN LAUGHS] -[AUDIENCE CHEERS]

[ADELE CHUCKLES]

And also, I mean, I can't imagine any of them

would ever really be able to do it, because most of them like,

couldn't even do a normal daily task, so,

-let alone a song. -[AUDIENCE LAUGHS]

And stuff like that.

Most of them, not all of them.

[ALAN CACKLES]

So yeah, I don't think they'd get away with it.

-[ALAN CACKLES] -[ADELE LAUGHS]

[APPLAUSE]

[PULSING ELECTRIC GUITAR]

["ROLLING IN THE DEEP" BY ADELE PLAYS]

* There's a fire starting in my heart *

* Reaching a fever pitch *

* And it's bringing me out the dark *

* Finally I can see you crystal clear *

* Go ahead and sell me out and I'll lay your... bare *

* See how I'll leave with every piece of you *

* Don't underestimate the things that I will do *

* There's a fire starting in my heart *

* Reaching a fever pitch *

* And it's bringing me out the dark *

* The scars of your love remind me of us *

* They keep me thinking that we almost had it all *

* The scars of your love, they leave me breathless *

* I can't help feeling *

* We could have had it all *

* Rolling in the deep *

* You had my heart inside of your hands *

* And you played it to the beat *

[CHEERING]

* Baby, I have no story to be told *

* But I've heard one on you *

* And I'm gonna make your head burn *

* Think of me in the depths of your despair *

* Make a home down there as mine sure won't be shared *

* The scars of your love remind me of us *

* They keep me thinking that we almost had it all *

* The scars of your love they leave me breathless *

* I can't help feeling *

* We could have had it all *

* Rolling in the deep *

* You had my heart inside of your hands *

* And you played it to the beat *

* We could have had it all *

* Rolling in the deep *

* You had my heart inside of your hands *

* And you played it to the beat *

Here we go!

* Throw your soul through every open door *

* Count your blessings to find what you look for *

* Turn my sorrow into treasured gold *

* You'll pay me back in kind and reap just what you've sown *

I see you, Hakeem.

* We could have had it all *

* We could have had it all *

* It all, it all, it all *

* We could have had it all *

* Rolling in the deep *

* You had my heart inside of your hands *

* And you played it to the beat *

* You could have had this all *

* Rolling in the deep *

* You had my heart inside of your hands *

* But you played it *

* You played it, played it *

* You played it to the beat *

[AUDIENCE ROARING]

This song changed my--

Well, it changed my life and it also saved me life a little bit.

It was the last song that I wrote for this album,

and when I first started writing it,

I hadn't realized how far I was coming

over a sort of like 18-month to two year period,

I hadn't been able to recognize

the progress that I had been making.

But I wrote this and when I listened back to it, I couldn't believe it!

I was like, you know, I couldn't believe how far I had come

and it was amazing for me to hear that in one of my songs

because there's been a little bit of a disconnect

for me and my songs for a while

just because I find all of this very terrifying.

But the song really moved me,

and it made me really proud of myself,

and for a long time, I listened to it a lot.

Just as a reminder of that-- I was recognizing

-that I'm an absolute nightmare, basically. -[AUDIENCE LAUGHS]

But I love it very, very much, and I hope you do too.

It's called "Hold On."

-[AUDIENCE CHEERS] -[SLOW SENTIMENTAL PIANO]

* Hold on *

["HOLD ON" BY ADELE PLAYS]

VOCALIST: * You are still strong *

* Love will soon come *

* Just hold, hold on *

* Oh, what have I done yet again *

* Have I not learned anything *

* I don't want to live in chaos *

* It's like a ride that I want to get off *

* It's hard to hold onto who I am *

* When I'm stumbling in the dark for a hand *

* I am so tired of battling with myself *

* With no chance to win *

VOCALIST: * Hold on *

ADELE: * Let time be patient *

VOCALIST: * You are still strong *

* Let pain be gracious *

VOCALISTS: * Love will soon come *

ADELE: * Just hold, hold on *

* I swear to God I am such a mess *

* The harder that I try I regress *

* I'm my own worst enemy *

* Right now I truly hate being me *

* Every day feels like the road I'm on *

* Might just open up and swallow me whole *

* How do I feel so mighty small *

* When I'm struggling to feel at all? *

* Just hold on *

* Let time be patient *

* You are still strong *

* Let pain be gracious *

* Ooh *

* Just hold, hold on *

* Sometimes loneliness is the only rest we get *

VOCALISTS: * Just hold on just hold on *

* And the emptiness actually lets us forget *

VOCALISTS: * Just hold on, just hold on *

* Sometimes forgiveness is easiest in secret *

* So just hold on, ooh-ooh *

* Let time be patient *

* Let pain be gracious *

* Love will soon come, baby *

* If you just hold on *

* Hold on, hold on, hold on, hold on *

* Just let time be patient *

* 'Cause you're still strong *

* I'm still strong *

* Just be gracious *

* And love will soon come *

* If you just hold on, mmm *

* Just be patient, just be patient *

CHOIR: * You just hold on, you just hold on *

CHOIR: * You just hold on, just hold on, just hold on *

Just hold on, alright?

Thank you, you lot, thank you all so much.

[AUDIENCE ROARING]

ADELE: Thank you.

Thank you very, very much.

Alright, got some more questions. Emma Thompson?

EMMA: Oh, 'ello!

ADELE: I've seen you all night dancing!

You've been dancing all night! Hi.

-[EMMA CHUCKLES] -ADELE: Hi, you look lovely.

Hello, girl.

This isn't my question.

It's a sort of sub-question,

but underneath that beautiful frock,

are you actually wearing socks?

Oh! I'm wearing tights, but they've fallen down

and they're all baggy in the crotch.

EMMA: Ah, that's why. I just--

-Yeah. -[AUDIENCE LAUGHS]

Figured I'd wear tights,

I don't like singing in high heels because--

-EMMA: No, you can't, who can? -Might fall over, yeah.

I thought I couldn't love you more,

but now of course, I do.

-Um... -[AUDIENCE LAUGHS]

So look, my question is:

When you were younger,

was there someone who kind of supported you

or inspired you or sort of, you know, protected you

from all the trials and tribulations of life

and inspired you to go on?

Yeah, I had a teacher at Chestnut Grove

who taught me English, that was Miss McDonald.

Did you ever keep in touch? Did you see--

No! She left when I was in year eight.

She left when I was in year eight, yeah.

But it was just one year, but she was like,

she got me really into literature.

I've always been obsessed with English

and obviously now, I write lyrics,

but she also did street dance.

I was too scared to join,

but like in the canteen,

they used to do these dances and stuff like that,

but yeah, she just-- she was so bloody cool,

so engaging and she really made us care

and we knew that she cared about us and it was just--

She used to have all these gold bracelets on

and gold sig rings.

I don't know, she was just bloody cool.

And so relatable and likeable

that I really looked forward to my English lessons.

Yeah, cuz it's odd actually. Funny enough.

-[AUDIENCE CHEERS] -[SENTIMENTAL PIANO MUSIC PLAYS]

Is she here? Is Miss McDonald here?

EMMA: She's here tonight.

[APPLAUSE]

Hi.

[INDISTINCT]

ADELE: Hello, my darling!

-Hello! -Hi!

McDONALD: Oh my God, I'm so proud of you.

I didn't know that you were coming!

That's okay! It was supposed to be a surprise.

-Hi! How are you? -I'm good.

Oh, you look exactly the same!

You look exactly the same! Are you still teaching?

-No, no. -What do you do now? Just dancing?

No, I'm just looking after my family.

Oh my God! [EXCLAIMS]

-Sorry. [CRYING] -[AUDIENCE AWES]

McDONALD: Don't cry. Thank you.

-I didn't know you were coming! -Thank you for remembering me.

Oh my God, no. You really did change my life.

-Mum! Mum, can you believe it? -[AUDIENCE LAUGHS]

She's over there, she doesn't want to be filmed.

Oh, now I gotta get me whole face redone.

-[McDONALD LAUGHS] -Oh my God, how are you?

-I haven't seen you since I was like, 12. -I'm good.

ADELE: Do you have kids, what are you doing?

Yeah, I've got two kids, Skye and Hayden.

Hi, guys! [COOS]

Oh my God! I'm so happy you're here!

Can I get your number from them or something?

Yes, of course. Of course.

Yeah. Oh, alright.

I gotta get me make-up fixed, bye Miss.

Bye, darling. Thank you.

Still got all my books, ya know,

I've got all my books from when you were my teacher.

[EXCLAIMS]

I'm gonna need my face touched.

[ADELE EXCLAIMS]

Alan, d'you wanna come talk for five minutes

while I fixes me face.

[AUDIENCE LAUGHS]

No, for real!

Sing us a song, play "Make You Feel My Love" and get Alan to sing it.

-[ALAN CACKLES] -[SLOW PIANO STARTS PLAYING]

[AUDIENCE CHEERS]

No! No! [CHUCKLES NERVOUSLY]

["MAKE YOU FEEL MY LOVE" BY ADELE PLAYS]

ALAN: Thank you.

[ALAN CACKLES]

Thank you so much.

This goes out to all the lovers, tonight.

[AUDIENCE CHEERS]

[SINGS OFF-PITCH AND GRATINGLY] * When the rain is-- *[LAUGHS]

[AUDIENCE CHEERS]

* And there's no one there-- * [LAUGHS]

[AUDIENCE SINGS ALONG] * To dry your face *

* I-- ...offer you a warm embrace *

ALL: * And make you feel my love *

-Oh, thank you! -[AUDIENCE LAUGHS]

ALAN: If anyone, any teacher who knew me walked in--

[AUDIENCE LAUGHING]

Wanted to have a chat with me--

[AUDIENCE CHEERS AND LAUGHS]

Thanks for doing that.

Oh, you're sweaty now. I love you too.

-Oh, sorry about that. -[AUDIENCE CHEERS]

Now that's a true friend.

ADELE: This is an oldie.

[SENTIMENTAL PIANO PLAYS]

["SET FIRE TO THE RAIN" BY ADELE PLAYS]

* I let it fall my heart *

* And as it fell you rose to claim it *

* It was dark and I was over *

* Until you kissed my lips and you saved me *

* My hands they were strong *

* But my knees were far too weak *

* To stand in your arms *

* Without falling to your feet *

* But there's a side to you *

* That I never knew, never knew *

* All the things you'd say *

* They were never true, never true *

* And the games you'd play *

* You would always win, always win *

* But I set fire to the rain *

* Watched it pour as I touched your face *

* Well it burned while I cried *

* 'Cause I heard it screaming out your name *

* Your name *

* When laying with you I could stay there *

* Close my eyes feel you here forever *

* You and me together nothing is better *

* But there's a side to you *

* That I never knew, never knew *

* All the things you'd say *

* They were never true, never true *

* And the games you'd play *

* You would always win, always win *

* But I set fire to the rain *

* Watched it pour as I touched your face *

* Well it burned while I cried *

* 'Cause I heard it screaming out your name *

* Your name *

* I set fire to the rain *

* And I threw us into the flames *

* When we fell something died *

* 'Cause I knew that that was the last time *

* The last time *

* Sometimes I wake up by the door *

* That heart you caught must be waiting for you *

* Even now when we're already over *

* I can't help myself from looking for you *

* I set fire to the rain *

* Watched it pour as I touched your face *

* Well it burned while I cried *

* 'Cause I heard it screaming out your name *

* Your name *

* I set fire to the rain *

* And I threw us into the flames *

* When we fell something died *

* 'Cause I knew that that was the last time *

* The last time *

* Ooh *

* Ooh, no *

* Let it burn *

* Ooh *

* Let it burn *

* Let it burn *

[AUDIENCE ROARING]

[ADELE SIGHS] It's always a bit touch or go, that big note at the end.

Sometimes I get it, sometimes I don't.

Stormzy, you got a question for me?

I'm excited. Hello, darling.

-[STORMZY LAUGHS] -ADELE: How are you?

-What's happenin', Adele? -Nice to see you!

[STORMZY CHUCKLES]

[AUDIENCE CHEERS]

A lot of people get awkward when they meet their idols.

Is there anyone you've met that you got awkward with?

Oh, for sure. Also, can we just say

that last time I was doing an album

was when we first met, wasn't it?

Was when you came to watch at the O2 and I dedicated--

And I was super awkward when I met you.

[AUDIENCE LAUGHS]

I thought you were pretty chill!

Look at us now!

-Look at us! -Look at us!

We're super close actually, me and Stormz.

I won't go into detail, because we're both very private people,

-[STORMZY LAUGHS] -[AUDIENCE CHEERS]

But we had a real moment, didn't we?

With like, the ocean and God,

and all sorts last summer, it was absolutely-- No, we did! Truly.

We felt a presence around us and we both were like,

-"Let's go get life." -STORMZY: Yeah.

Yes, actually. Only really one.

Stevie Nicks, right?

So I'm a very big Fleetwood Mac fan,

and I'm just obsessed with her melodies and stuff like that,

but I felt pretty chill about going to see them.

It was for one of my birthdays.

I can't remember, they were playing the O2 years ago,

The minute I saw her, I burst into tears.

Like, it was so bloody embarrassing.

-Like, snob crying. -[AUDIENCE GIGGLES]

I was so-- I was getting more and more upset

that I was crying in front of Stevie Nicks

and she sort of had to go into icon mode

and be like, "Oh, it's alright."

[STORMZY AND AUDIENCE LAUGH]

I think she thought I was a right wally,

but yeah, that's the only time I feel like

I've really, really really been starstruck and awkward.

I also don't know what I'd do if I ever met The Rock Dwayne Johnson,

because I've been obsessed with him since I was like, 10.

But yeah, it was definitely Stevie Nicks.

Nice to see you, darling. Thank you for coming.

[AUDIENCE CHEERING]

I know we have some amazing people on the middle.

ADELE: Hi, guys! Hi!

Got health care workers, key workers,

firefighters, got Grenfell, oi, oi!

[CHEERING]

'Ello, darlings! Hi! So glad you could come!

Aww, 'ello, 'ello, 'ello!

Right!

-[SENTIMENTAL PIANO MUSIC PLAYS] -[AUDIENCE CHEERS]

["SOMEONE LIKE YOU" BY ADELE PLAYS]

* I heard that you're settled down *

* That you found a girl and you're married now *

* I heard that your dreams came true *

* Guess she gave you things I didn't give to you *

* Old friend why are you so shy *

* Ain't like you to hold back or hide from the light *

* I hate to turn up out of the blue uninvited *

* But I couldn't stay away I couldn't fight it *

* I had hoped you'd see my face *

* And that you'd be reminded that for me it isn't over *

* Never mind I'll find someone like you *

* I wish nothing but the best for you too *

* Don't forget me I beg *

* I remember you said *

* Sometimes it lasts in love *

* But sometimes it hurts instead *

* Sometimes it lasts in love*

* But sometimes it hurts instead*

* You know how the time flies *

* Only yesterday was the time of our lives *

* We were born and raised in a summer haze *

* Bound by the surprise of our glory days *

* I hate to turn up out of the blue uninvited *

* But I couldn't stay away I couldn't fight it *

* I had hoped you'd see my face *

* And that you'd be reminded that for me it isn't over yet *

* Never mind I'll find someone like you *

* I wish nothing but the best for you too *

* Don't forget me I beg *

* I remember you said *

* Sometimes it lasts in love *

* But sometimes it hurts instead *

* Nothing compares, no worries or cares *

* Regrets and mistakes they're memories made *

* Who would have known how bittersweet this would taste *

* Nevermind, I'll find someone like you *

* I wish nothing but the best for you too *

* Don't forget me I beg *

* I remember you said *

* Sometimes it lasts in love *

* But sometimes it hurts instead *

* Nevermind I'll find someone like you *

* I wish nothing but the best for you too *

* Don't forget me I beg *

* I remember you said *

* Sometimes it lasts in love *

* But sometimes it hurts instead *

* Sometimes it lasts in love *

* But sometimes it hurts instead *

* Yeah, yeah *

-[PIANO GRADUALLY STOPS] -[AUDIENCE ROARING]

ADELE: Thank you.

[SIGHS]

Thank you so much.

This is called "Love is a Game."

Thank you for coming.

[AUDIENCE CHEERING]

[ROMANTIC ORCHESTRAL MUSIC]

["LOVE IS A GAME" BY ADELE PLAYS]

* All your expectations *

* Of my love are impossible *

* Surely you know *

* That I'm not easy to hold *

* It's so sad how incapable *

* Of learning to grow I am *

* My heart speaks in puzzle and codes *

* I've been trying my whole life to solve *

* God only knows how I've cried *

* I can't take another defeat *

* A next time would be the ending of me *

* Now that I see *

* That love is a game for fools to play *

* And I ain't fooling *

* What a cruel thing *

* To self-inflict that pain *

* Love is a game for fools to play *

* And I ain't fooling what a cruel thing *

* To self-inflict that pain *

* How unbelievable *

* Of me to fall for the lies that I tell? *

VOCALISTS: * Lies I tell *

* The dream that I sell *

VOCALISTS: * Dream I sell *

* When my heartache it's inevitable *

* But I'm no good at doing it well *

* Not that I care *

VOCALISTS: * I don't care *

* Why should anything about it be fair? *

* When love is a game for fools to play *

* And I ain't fooling what a cruel thing *

* To self-inflict that pain *

* When love is a game for fools to play *

* And I ain't fooling what a cruel thing *

* To self-inflict that pain *

* No amount of love *

* Can keep me satisfied *

VOCALISTS: * Satisfied, satisfied *

* I can't keep up *

VOCALISTS: * I can't keep up *

* When I keep changing my mind *

VOCALISTS: * Change my mind change my mind *

* The feelings flood me*

* To the heights of no compromise*

* Love is a game for fools to play *

* And I ain't fooling what a cruel thing *

* To self-inflict that pain *

* Love is a game for fools to play *

* And I ain't fooling what a cruel thing *

* To self-inflict that pain *
