So without further ado, let's get down to it.
The film opens with a young Suzume Iwato, wandering alone through a
field and calling out for her mother.
As she begins to cry, a figure of a woman approaches smiling at her.
Fast forward to the present, and an older Suzume now lives
with her Aunt Tamaki in Kyushu.
On her way to school, Suzume has a chance encounter with Sota Munakata who
asks her about any ruins in the area.
Intrigued by Sota, she directs him to an abandoned Onsen resort
before continuing to school.
Unable to shake the feeling that she's met Sota before Suzume returns to the
onsen, where she discovers a doorway leading to a starry field called
the Ever-After, and a mysterious cat statue that transforms into a real cat.
When the town experiences a minor earthquake, Suzume sees a swirling
vortex only visible to her.
Racing back to the Onsen, she finds Sota struggling to seal a dangerous entity
called The Worm back into the doorway.
After helping Sota, she learns that he is a closer-someone responsible
for keeping The Worm sealed away.
The cat named Daijin turns Sota into a three-legged chair forcing
Suzume to chase after them both to restore Sota to his normal form.
As they pursue Daijin, Suzume and Sota joined forces with Chika, a girl
delivering oranges, who gives them a ride to another doorway in Shikoku.
Through feeling the spirits of the past, Suzume manages to close the door,
preventing The Worm from escaping.
Suzume and Sota continue their journey to find Daijin meeting Rumi and her children,
who offer them temporary shelter.
While helping at Rumi's bar, Suzume and Sota spot Daijin and continue their
pursuit of an abandoned amusement park.
In a thrilling chase through the park, suzume and Sota confront Daijin.
Who reveals he turned Sota into the new keystone to be with Suzume.
Sota accepts his fate and Suzume loses him as he becomes the
keystone that seals The Worm.
Desperate to save Sota, Suzume learns from his grandfather Hitsujiro that there's a
way for humans to enter the Ever-After.
Joined by Tamaki and Serizawa, Suzume returns to her old home, where they
find the doorway to the Ever-After.
Inside, they face a powerful battle is Sadaijin, another keystone,
fights The Worm in its beast form.
Suzume finds Sota, still a chair, and with Daijin's help, Sota
is restored to his human form.
Together, they reseal The Worm and leave the Ever-After.
With The Worm defeated, Suzume and Sota partways, but not before
promising to see each other again.
Suzume Reunites with her friends and continues her studies.
Later, she runs into Sota once more on the same road where they first met,
and they are happy to be reunited.
And that's the incredible story of Suzume, a tale of love, friendship,
and the power of the human spirit.
We hope you enjoyed this journey into the extraordinary world
of Suzume and the Ever-After.
