[Eva] "Eva's Big Catch."

[owl] Oh, owlets, I'm here! [chuckles]

[both gasps] Grandma!

- [Eva] Whoo-hoo! - Yeah!

- [Dad] Hello. - [Mom] Hi, Grandma.

Oh, hi, my feather plums. Who wants a beak-nuzzle?

- [Grandma chuckles] Oh. - [chuckles]

[chuckles] These early birds got up while it was still light out to see you.

I love it. We can head out for our

- mushroom-catching trip! - Mushroom-catching trip!

Guess who's old enough to come with you this year?

Hmm. [gasps] I know. Baby Mo.

[laughs] No, me! Mmm.

That's right. I'm so glad you're coming with me and Humphrey.

[gasps] A mushroom-catching hat? [squeals] Thanks, Grandma.

Grandma, remember last year when I caught The Big One?

How could I forget? I carry this picture wherever I go.

There's you and me,

- and that's The Big One. [chuckles] - [Humphrey] The Big One. [chuckles]

- [Mom] Wow. - [Dad] Ooh.

- [Humphrey] Ooh. - [Grandma] Oh.

Diary, can you believe it? My first mushroom-catching trip with Grandma!

I'm gonna catch a mushroom this big.

No, this big! Just like Humphrey.

[Mom] The mushroom sure was tasty. Mmm.

What do you say we fly to the catching branch?

- Whoo-hoo! - Yeah! Whoo-hoo!

- Have a good time. - Have fun.

- [Humphrey] We will. - [Eva] Bye!

Catching branch. Hoo!

Get ready, mushrooms.

We're gonna catch you so we can have a big mushroom dinner later.

Remember, some mushrooms are safe to eat, but others are not.

Always have an adult check before you eat one.

Got it.

Here you go, Eva. Your very own catching pole.

Wow! It's flappy-fabulous.

And here's yours, Humphrey.

Yeah! [chuckles]

[Eva] Wow.

Hmm. Why is my pole smaller than Humphrey's?

Oh, yours is a training pole since you're just starting out.

Oh.

Yeah. I used it last year when I caught The Big One.

- The Big One. - [Grandma] The Big One.

Whoa.

That's one of my sweetest memories with you.

- Aw. [chuckling] - [Humphrey chuckles]

- Let's find a spot. - [Humphrey] How about over here, Grandma?

Diary, Humphrey made Grandma so happy when he caught that big mushroom.

I saw it in the picture. They were both smiling so big.

- [chuckles] - Oh, I know.

I wonder if Humphrey is... [gasps] ...Grandma's favorite?

Hey. Come join us, Eva.

Be right there.

I need to catch the biggest mushroom ever.

Then I'll be Grandma's favorite.

Okay. I'm ready.

Try standing over there. That's where I caught The Big One last time.

All right. Big One, here I come.

[gasps] Nice cast, Humphrey.

Thanks, Grandma.

Grandma, look at my cast.

[squeals]

Here I go!

Come on, bucket. [grunts]

Oh, hang on. Looks like you're a little stuck there.

[Eva yells]

[groans]

What a flaptastic first try. Don't worry. It'll get easier.

- [gasps] I've got something. - All right. Let's see what you caught.

Yes! Another big one.

[laughs] Well done. Let's get a picture.

Say "mushroom!"

- Mushroom! - [Grandma chuckles]

Another picture of Humphrey? Gotta catch a big one. Gotta catch a big one.

[grunts, yelps]

Mmm. [sighs]

Oh, looks like your string got wrapped around the branch.

[Humphrey] Hang on, Eva.

I've got it. You can let go.

Whew. That was quite a ride.

[sighs] I think I need some help.

Oh. Why, of course, feather plum.

Just relax your wings, take a deep breath, and let the bucket do the work.

[both inhale deeply, exhale deeply]

[gasps] I did it! Thanks, Grandma.

Nice one. Hey, do you know what we could do now?

[both] The mushroom-catching chant!

I made it up on our last mushroom-catching trip. Check it out.

[both] Mushrooms to the left and mushrooms to the right.

We're gonna catch some mushrooms tonight!

Mushrooms make us cheer. [cheers] Mushrooms make us shout. [shouts]

Mushrooms, mushrooms, mushrooms, check us out!

[Grandma chuckles]

Huh? [gasps] I got another one!

What? Again?

[Grandma] Well done.

- Two big ones. [gasps] - Yeah.

- [Grandma] Say "mushrooms!" - Mushrooms.

More Humphrey photos?

Hey, Eva, do you wanna try the chant?

Uh, actually, I wanna make up my own.

Oh, how exciting. Let's hear it.

Now?

Sure.

Oh, um--

Mushrooms that are white, mushrooms that are brown.

I'm gonna catch a mushroom on the ground. Whoo! Mushrooms I can hold,

mushrooms I can squeeze. Whee!

Come on, mushrooms. Please, please, please!

- Great job, Eva. - Wow, Eva.

[gasps] I-- I think I've got something.

It's really heavy.

It must be the biggest mushroom in the forest, even bigger than Humphrey's.

Grandma, help!

- [Humphrey] I'll help too. - Ready? Pull!

[all straining, groaning]

Oh, no. I got it. [strains] All together!

[gasps] Caught it!

- Oh, let's see it! - What did you catch?

I did it! I finally caught a...

a rock? [groans]

Where is the biggest mushroom? Where is any mushroom?

Aw, I'm sorry. You can have one of my mushrooms if you want.

[sighs] Thanks, Humphrey, but it's not the same.

I wanted to catch my own big mushroom with Grandma.

Uh-uh, hang on. I think I see something.

[gasps] My feathers-- This is the smallest mushroom I have ever seen.

Wow. Can I see?

Huh? [chuckles]

- Ooh. Wow. - [Eva] Diary, did you hear that?

I caught the smallest mushroom!

It doesn't look like that. It looks like this!

[sighs]

I guess Humphrey will always be Grandma's favorite.

Goodbye, tiny mushroom. You've been no help at all.

Wait! We wouldn't wanna lose it.

But-- But it's so tiny.

That's what makes it so special.

Yeah. You're a cute little mushroom, aren't you?

Wait, so you like that mushroom just as much as the big one Humphrey caught?

Well, of course. It doesn't matter if we catch big mushrooms,

small mushrooms, or no mushrooms at all.

I'm just happy to spend time with my grandowlets.

[Eva] A mushroom necklace.

That's right.

I'll always wear it to remind me of this special time with my grandowlet Eva.

- Oh. [chuckles] - [chuckles]

How about a picture of you two? Say, "teeny tiny mushroom!"

[both] Teeny tiny mushroom!

[chuckles]

[Eva chuckling]

- [Baxter yelps] - Ooh, another lemon.

- [yelps] - [laughing]

- Pepper? [chuckles] Why not? - [Baxter groaning]

- We'll find out when we taste the juice. - Yes!

- [Eva strains] - Exactly.

[chuckles] I think that's enough.

Whew!

Add a dash of pine sap.

That's the cranberries. We can use fewer in the next batch.

For this batch, let's add more pine sap.
